  • sending javascript array to external php file using POST

    - by user1472224
    I am trying to send a javascript array to an external php page, but the only thing the php page is picking up is the fact that I am sending array, not the actual data within the array. javascript - var newArray = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]; $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'array.php', data: {'something': newArray}, success: function(){ alert("sent"); } }); External PHP Page - <?php echo($_POST['something'])); ?> I know this question has been asked before, but for some reason, this isn't working for me. I have spent the last couple days trying to figure this out as well. Can someone please point me in the right direction. current output (from php page) - Array (thats all the page outputs)

  • Canvas Check before submission

    - by smokinguns
    I have a page where a user can draw on the canvas and save the image to a file on the server. The canvas has a default black background. Is there a way to check if the user has drawn anything on the canvas before submitting the data URL representation of the image of a canvas with the toDataURL() function? So if the user doesn't draw anything on the canvas(it will be a blank canvas with a black background), the image wont be created on the server. Should I loop through each and every pixel of the canvas to determine this? Here is what I'm doing currently: var currentPixels = context.getImageData(0, 0, 600, 400); for (var y = 0; y < currentPixels.height; y += 1) { for (var x = 0; x < currentPixels.width; x += 1) { for (var c = 0; c < 3; c += 1) { var i = (y*currentPixels.width + x)*4 + c; if(currentPixels.data[i]!=0) break; } } }

  • IE 8 prompts user on "slow" jQuery script

    - by Jason
    I have a form with over 100 list items that I must reorder on submit. The following code works to reorder my list without any apparent problems in Firefox; however, IE prompts with the message "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" If the user clicks 'No', the script will work as expected. var listitems = $(form).find('li').get(); listitems.sort(function(a, b) { var compA = $(a).attr('id'); var compB = $(b).attr('id'); return (compA - compB); }); Any ideas on how to make this more efficient?

  • jQuery $.data(): Possible misuse?

    - by Rosarch
    Perhaps I'm using $.data incorrectly. Assigning the data: var course_li = sprintf('<li class="draggable course">%s</li>', course["fields"]["name"]); $(course_li).data('pk', course['pk']); alert(course['pk']); // shows a correct value Moving the li to a different ul: function moveToTerm(item, term) { item.fadeOut(function() { item.appendTo(term).fadeIn(); }); } Trying to access the data later: $.each($(term).children(".course"), function(index, course) { var pk = $(course).data('pk'); // pk is undefined courses.push(pk); }); What am I doing wrong? I have confirmed that the course li on which I am setting the data is the same as the one on which I am looking for it. (Unless I'm messing that up by calling appendTo() on it?)

  • Why is my condition onsubmit not returning false?

    - by Liso22
    After asking a couple of questions I managed to create this form. I didn't have troubles making it return false if the submitted value was 0 but I cannot make it return false when it's the string 'Cambia de ciudad". I'm sure I'm messing with the quotes or something like that. This is the form: <form role="search" method="get" action="http://chusmix.com/" onsubmit="if (document.getElementById('s')== 'Cambiá de ciudad") return false;'> <input class="ubicacion" name="s" id="s" tabindex="1" onsubmit="if ((document.getElementById('s').value.length < 4) || (document.getElementById('s')== 'Cambiá de ciudad')) return false;" onfocus="if (this.value=='Cambiá de ciudad') this.value = ''" onblur="if(this.value == '') this.value = 'Cambiá de ciudad'" type="text" maxlength="80" size="28" value="Cambiá de ciudad"> <input type="submit" id="searchsubmit" value="Buscar" /> </form> How do I make it work? Thanks

  • Raphael how to get last path and last circle, if i have 2 elements in the paper?

    - by 3gwebtrain
    I need to find the last path or circle in a paper, in order to perform further calculations to draw more elements, and calling 'paper.bottom' only gets the last element. Is there any way to get shapes of specific types, e.g. bottom.path, bottom.circle or traverse for the n'th child? I want to avoid using jQuery selectors, as i can't retrieve any properties from those. An example of a paper populated with shapes: var paper = Raphael('paper',500,500); var c1 = paper.circle(100,100,50) var p1 = paper.path("M10 20l70 0") var c2 = paper.circle(200,100,50)
