• Subversion commit failed on Mac OS X with error "no such table: rep_cache"

  I created a subversion repository, imported an empty structure, checked out the repo, added a file to the working copy and tried commiting the working copy with the following commands: svnadmin create mysvn svn import -m "initial empty structure" test/ file:///tmp/mysvn svn co file:///tmp/mysvn mywc svn ci -m "test" The commit failed with the following error: Transmitting file data .svn: Commit failed (details follow): svn: While preparing '/tmp/mywc' for commit svn: no such table: rep_cache I am running Mac OS X 10.6.3 and subversion 1.6.5. Did I miss any steps or Mac specific commands? Thanks for your help.

• What is the Simplest Possible Payment Gateway to Implement? (using Django)

  I'm developing a web application that will require users to either make one time deposits of money into their account, or allow users to sign up for recurring billing each month for a certain amount of money. I've been looking at various payment gateways, but most (if not all) of them seem complex and difficult to get working. I also see no real active Django projects which offer simple views for making payments. Ideally, I'd like to use something like Amazon FPS, so that I can see online transaction logs, refund money, etc., but I'm open to other things. I just want the EASIEST possible payment gateway to integrate with my site. I'm not looking for anything fancy, whatever does the job, and requires < 10 hours to get working from start to finish would be perfect. I'll give answer points to whoever can point out a good one. • Rails runner command not saving to cache

  Hi I'm having a bit of a problem with a cron task generated by rails whenever plugin that should store remote data in the rails cache for display. What I have is this: schedule.rb set :path, '/var/www/apps/tuexplore/current' every 1.hour do runner "Weather.cache_remote", :environment => :production end calls this model class Weather def self.cache_remote Rails.cache.write('weather_data', Net::HTTP.get_response(URI.parse(WEATHER_URL)).body) end end Calling whenever returns this PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/home/deploy/.gem/ruby/1.8/bin 0 * * * * /var/www/apps/tuexplore/current/script/runner -e production "Weather.cache_remote" This doesn't work. Calling the weather model method from a controller works fine, but I need to schedule it hourly. The cron task causes a "Cache write: weather_data" entry to appear in the production log but data isn't stored nor output into the page. Additional information, I can log into production console and run Weather.cache_remote, then read the data from the rails cache. I'd be really appreciative if someone could point out the error of my ways. If further explanation is needed please ask. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

  Hi All, I am trying to get a var from a PHP script running on my web server and from every forum post I have read, what I am doing should be working.   I'm working on HTML drum machine, and I`ve met some performance issues, rhythm start to break if BPM is higher than 110 but I'm expecting to make it work on BPM over 180. I guess that it can be related with format or codec of audio files, however it also maybe that my code is not very optimised (as I can see from JS CPU profiling it's not). So I'm expecting you guys give me some code review or some hints on optimisation. Although all similar projects I've found on internet didn't work good and maybe it's just restrictions of Audio API. • Are Java GUIs always slow to update or is it just me?

  I've just started making my first GUI application in Java and I decided to use the NetBeans IDE to do it. I think its working fine so far, except for one problem; it seems to be slow updating the content of a window. Even in very simple windows with few controls I find that when - for example - closing or resizing a window, I get the normal window border working properly but the inside is completely see through for a second. It's not the biggest deal in the world, I just find it mildly annoying.

  Hello, I'm a programmer, contractor, self experimenter and so on. I'd need to have cheap version control. I've been working with Subversion and recently with Mercurial. I've seen around many cheap hosting but, even if they are great (like BitBucket), many of them don't allow many private projects (1 or 2). Much of the code I need to keep on VC is not open, maybe because it is stuff I'm working on for clients, or maybe because it's code I usually need for my development, but it is not intended and usable as a open source project. Now, I've a cheap web hosting, with unlimited space and free mysql. I CAN'T install Mercurial or SVN on those machinese, but I was asking myself if is it there a way to use a common CVS with it, with "common" I mean something that has its good IDE plugins (Eclipse or Netbeans) that may avoid me to write commands by hand.   I'm working with a very large code base and I find it useful to be selective about which directories are included for use with Exuberant Ctags. The --exclude option works well to eliminate individual file and directory names (with globing wildcards), but I can't figure out how to get it to exclude path patterns containing more than one directory. For example, I may want to exclude a directory tests, but only when processing thirdparty\tests (under Windows). The problem is if I just use --exclude=tests I exclude too many directories, including a test directory in the code I'm actively working on. Here are some things I've tried: --exclude=thirdparty\tests --exclude=thirdparty\\tests --exclude=*\thirdparty\tests --exclude=*\\thirdparty\\tests --exclude=thirdparty/tests Ctags silently ignores all these as evidenced by an examination of the tags file. How can I exclude a directory only when it is preceded by a given parent directory?

• Deploying Qt / MySQL application

  Hi everyone, I hadn't found a anwser on the web, so i ask to you. I am unable to run my compiled mysql driver on a deployment solution. On the pc A the app work fine when run with QtCreator, but via the .exe in the following working directory, the driver is not loaded : root/ -----/bin --------/app.exe --------/libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll --------/mingwm10.dll --------/QtCore4.dll --------/QtGui4.dll --------/QtSql4.dll -----/sqldrivers --------/libmysql.dll --------/qsqlmysql4.dll Whereas with libmysql.dll under bin/ driver is loaded. Now on the pc B, with no Qt or MySQL lib installation and with any of the 2 last working dir, the driver is not loaded. pc A : Qt 4.7 2010.05, Win 7 pc B : Win 7 Thanks for your help !

• lightweight/portable VCS for server-hopping DBA?

  I'm looking for a VCS that'll help me keep all of my work scripts in-sync. Requirements: Portable (as in flash drive, not code-level) Run on Windows XP and Server 2003+ No installation dependencies (Cygwin, perl, Python) I use Mercurial on my work machine for version control of the various T-SQL, ksh, perl, and CMD/BAT scripts that I maintain as a MS SQL Server DBA and Unix sysadmin. So far, hg has worked for my AIX boxes- I mount my home directory as I login, and deal with the repo as if it were local. I haven't been able to find a similar solution for the Windows machines I use. Most of them I do not have Local Admin rights; even if I did, I'd rather not install (and maintain) Python + Mercurial on all of them. I can't get to my home directory on them remotely, which leaves a client running on each machine as the only option. Bonus points for an answer that would let me use a single repo for both the Windows and Unix machines. :) I'm running WinXP, with heavy use of Cygwin and a CrunchBang VM.

• PreferenceActivity not showing twice on android

  Hello there, i've a PreferenceActivity which works perfectly the first time i launch it. But if i close it ( with the back button ) and then i re open it ( through a menu click in the main activity ) then i get a black screen. There is no preferences at all.. I can't figure it out why it should not working. It seems all the code is being called normally as the working one but no preferences are showing on the screen. Did someone had the same behaviour ?

I have a nice amount of unit tests that will ensure I didn't break anything, but I'm not sure about the coverage they give me. Are there any tools that can analyze the code and see that the functionality remains the same? I plan to refactor some rather isolated code, so I don't need to check the entire program, just the areas that I'm working on. For context, the code I'm working on is in C/C++, and I work in Linux with GCC and VIM.

  My table structure is as follows: Person 1-M PesonAddress Person 1-M PesonPhone Person 1-M PesonEmail Person 1-M Contract Contract M-M Program Contract M-1 Organization At the end of this query I need a populated object graph where each person has their: PesonAddress's PesonPhone's PesonEmail's PesonPhone's Contract's - and this has its respective Program's Now I had the following query and I thought that it was working great, but it has a couple of problems: from people in ctx.People.Include("PersonAddress") .Include("PersonLandline") .Include("PersonMobile") .Include("PersonEmail") .Include("Contract") .Include("Contract.Program") where people.Contract.Any( contract => (param.OrganizationId == contract.OrganizationId) && contract.Program.Any( contractProgram => (param.ProgramId == contractProgram.ProgramId))) select people; The problem is that it filters the person to the criteria but not the Contracts or the Contract's Programs. It brings back all Contracts that each person has not just the ones that have an OrganizationId of x and the same goes for each of those Contract's Programs respectively. What I want is only the people that have at least one contract with an OrgId of x with and where that contract has a Program with the Id of y... and for the object graph that is returned to have only the contracts that match and programs within that contract that match. I kinda understand why its not working, but I don't know how to change it so it is working... Keeping in mind that I am trying to do this as a compiled query so I think that means anonymous types are out.

  I'm looking for a pet project idea in Java. I'm a Software Engineering undergraduate finishing my 3rd year. I have also been working for the past 1.5-2 years programming in C++, and I get enough of that at work. I recently learned Java and I like it very much. Already done some project assignments and some really small console applications, but I'm looking for something to invest my time in. I would like a project that is complex enough to "brag about" (have it open sourced and get people interested, added to resume) and learn while doing it, but also simple enough to be able to at least have a working version in a few months. I know the most common advice is something that I need, but I admit I simply couldn't think of anything like that. Any ideas?

  I'm working with a double click function in c#. the function takes an object and EventArgs as it's parameters: private void gvHL7_DoubleClick(object sender, EventArgs e){ . . . } However, I want to use the .Point property, and EventArgs doesn't have that property. I know that DevExpress.XtraGrid.Views.Grid.GridMenuEventArgs does, but it's saying that's an invalid casting. What type should I cast my EventArgs instance to if I wish to access the .Point property? Edit: The double click function I'm working with is provided by devexpress for their grids.

• Storing date/times as UTC in database

  I am storing date/times in the database as UTC and computing them inside my application back to local time based on the specific timezone. Say for example I have the following date/time: 01/04/2010 00:00 Say it is for a country e.g. UK which observes DST (Daylight Savings Time) and at this particular time we are in daylight savings. When I convert this date to UTC and store it in the database it is actually stored as: 31/03/2010 23:00 As the date would be adjusted -1 hours for DST. This works fine when your observing DST at time of submission. However, what happens when the clock is adjusted back? When I pull that date from the database and convert it to local time that particular datetime would be seen as 31/03/2009 23:00 when in reality it was processed as 01/04/2010 00:00. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't this a bit of a flaw when storing times as UTC? Example of Timezone conversion Basically what I am doing is storing the date/times of when information is being submitted to my system in order to allow users to do a range report. Here is how I am storing the date/times: public DateTime LocalDateTime(string timeZoneId) { var tzi = TimeZoneInfo.FindSystemTimeZoneById(timeZoneId); return TimeZoneInfo.ConvertTimeFromUtc(DateTime.UtcNow, tzi).ToLocalTime(); } Storing as UTC: var localDateTime = LocalDateTime("AUS Eastern Standard Time"); WriteToDB(localDateTime.ToUniversalTime());

• Help setting up IIS 7.0

  I am trying to setup IIS on my laptop. I have followed a guide which said to go to: Control Panel Programs Turn Windows Features On / Off Click on IIS. I have done this and my computer now says that IIS is running. However when I visit http://localhost in my browser I get a 'Page Cannot be Displayed' error. • Connecting to Google app email servers in Python to send from an alias

  I'm looking to send many emails via Python and would like to connect to Google's email servers to send it from my company email address (it's for work). I've got working code for sending the email through the old company email ([email protected]) which is our login, but can't figure out how to send it through the alias ([email protected]) we use frequently. Long story short, logging in with my regular Google Apps account won't do and I need to sign in with an alias (nickname) instead. Alternatively, I can sign with the regular account ([email protected]) but send via a different email ([email protected]). Working in python and pretty new to programming, but am a good listener! (It's like this question: Google Apps - Send email from a nickname but in Python).

• Is this __import__ functionality correct?

  I have a package named jiva_tasks, which I'm trying to import via celery (using the CELERY_IMPORTS attribute of celeryconfig. The import statement that celery is using is this: __import__(module, [], [], ['']) Oddly enough, when this syntax is used, the module gets imported twice, once as jiva_tasks and another time as jiva_tasks. (with a period at the end). Now, chances are good that celery should be passing in globals rather than an empty list, but this seems broken to me. It seems odd that even if given the wrong arguments, __import__ would import something that isn't a valid python module name. I know that the way to fix this is to pass in globals, but I want to understand why I'm getting this result. Is this a bug, or is there something I don't understand about how __import__ is working? Update: It also seems to be working fine if I use importlib.
