  • synchronously load html content in UIWebView

    - by mbg1987
im using a UIWebView to show html content in my app, the app contains two arrows to navigate between topics just like a RSS reader app, but when the user hits up or down arrow, the next topic doesn't show up until the data come back and the user still able to interact with the UI which is a bit confusing, My question: how to block the UI when user moves to the next/back topic ? in other words how to make loadHTMLString:baseURL: works as a synchronous calling ? thanks !

  • Multiple peers connected.

    - by Ranbeuer
I'm developing a game that requires up to four iPhones or iPod Touch to connect each other to play in turns. My question is, how can I accomplish this via GameKit. I've read that using client/server sessions is the way of doing it. But I can't find any examples that would illustrate this. Is it really possible to do it, or there can only be two devices connected at a time. I'd really appreciate if you all could help me with a code sample. Thanks.

  • Second query to SQLite (on iPhone) errors.

    - by Luke
Hi all, On the iPhone, I am developing a class for a cart that connects directly to a database. To view the cart, all items can be pulled from the database, however, it seems that removing them doesn't work. It is surprising to me because the error occurs during connection to the database, except not the second time I connect even after the DB has been closed. #import "CartDB.h" #import "CartItem.h" @implementation CartDB @synthesize database, databasePath; - (NSMutableArray *) getAllItems { NSMutableArray *items = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; if([self openDatabase]) { const char *sqlStatement = "SELECT * FROM items;"; sqlite3_stmt *compiledStatement; if(sqlite3_prepare_v2(cartDatabase, sqlStatement, -1, &compiledStatement, NULL) == SQLITE_OK) { while(sqlite3_step(compiledStatement) == SQLITE_ROW) { int rowId = sqlite3_column_int(compiledStatement, 0); int productId = sqlite3_column_int(compiledStatement, 1); NSString *features = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(char *)sqlite3_column_text(compiledStatement, 2)]; int quantity = sqlite3_column_int(compiledStatement, 3); CartItem *cartItem = [[CartItem alloc] initWithRowId:rowId productId:productId features:features quantity:quantity]; [items addObject:cartItem]; [cartItem release]; } } sqlite3_finalize(compiledStatement); } [self closeDatabase]; return items; } - (BOOL) removeCartItem:(CartItem *)item { sqlite3_stmt *deleteStatement; [self openDatabase]; const char *sql = "DELETE FROM items WHERE id = ?"; if(sqlite3_prepare_v2(cartDatabase, sql, -1, &deleteStatement, NULL) != SQLITE_OK) { return NO; } sqlite3_bind_int(deleteStatement, 1, item.rowId); if(SQLITE_DONE != sqlite3_step(deleteStatement)) { sqlite3_reset(deleteStatement); [self closeDatabase]; return NO; } else { sqlite3_reset(deleteStatement); [self closeDatabase]; return YES; } } - (BOOL) openDatabase { if(sqlite3_open([databasePath UTF8String], &cartDatabase) == SQLITE_OK) { return YES; } else { return NO; } } - (void) closeDatabase { sqlite3_close(cartDatabase); } The error occurs on the line where the connection is opened in openDatabase. Any ideas? Need to flush something? Something gets autoreleased? I really can't figure it out. --Edit-- The error that I receive is GDB: Program received signal "EXC_BAD_ACCESS". --Edit-- I ended up just connecting in the init and closing in the free methods, which might not be the proper way, but that's another question altogether so it's effectively persistent instead of connecting multiple times. Still would be nice to know what was up with this for future reference.

  • set the width of a UIText view based on the content size property

    - by Mrwolfy
TextView.contentSize.width does not work to set the UITextView's .frame.size.width. [TextView setFrame:CGRectMake(TextView.frame.origin.x, TextView.frame.origin.y, TextView.contentSize.width, TextView.contentSize.height)]; Setting the UITextView's frame height to the contentSize.height property works to make the view's frame scale to the proper size for the current vertical size of the content. For some reason, the width of the view's frame does not respond in the same way. It just remains the same size regardless of the amount of text input. When I log the contentsize of the UITextView dynamically, as I am typing in text to the view, the height property chnges, while the width does not. Makes me wonder what the width property is doing, what's it for.

  • willSelectRowAtIndexPath Question....

    - by treasure
How do you add a second section (SECOND_SECTION) here to be excluded from selection when editing? (NSIndexPath *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView willSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSIndexPath *rowToSelect = indexPath; NSInteger section = indexPath.section; BOOL isEditing = self.editing; // If editing, don't allow notes to be selected // Not editing: Only allow notes to be selected if ((isEditing && section == ONE_SECTION) || (!isEditing && section != ONE_SECTION)) { [tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:YES]; rowToSelect = nil; } return rowToSelect; } it s being driving me nuts... thanks

  • Get notified when UITableView has finished asking for data?

    - by kennethmac2000
Hi everyone, Is there some way to find out when a UITableView has finished asking for data from its data source? None of the viewDidLoad/viewWillAppear/viewDidAppear methods of the associated view controller (UITableViewController) are of use here, as they all fire too early. None of them (entirely understandably) guarantee that queries to the data source have finished for the time being (eg, until the view is scrolled). One workaround I have found is to call reloadData in viewDidAppear, since, when reloadData returns, the table view is guaranteed to have finished querying the data source as much as it needs to for the time being. However, this seems rather nasty, as I assume it is causing the data source to be asked for the same information twice (once automatically, and once because of the reloadData call) when it is first loaded. The reason I want to do this at all is that I want to preserve the scroll position of the UITableView - but right down to the pixel level, not just to the nearest row. When restoring the scroll position (using scrollRectToVisible:animated:), I need the table view to already have sufficient data in it, or else the scrollRectToVisible:animated: method call does nothing (which is what happens if you place the call on its own in any of viewDidLoad, viewWillAppear or viewDidAppear). Thanks in advance for your assistance!

  • Is there a way to fix the background image of a UITableView

    - by user337174
Hi I have set the background of my UITable with a custom image. self.tableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; self.tableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"background.png"]]; The problem im having is the background image is scrolling and doesn't look good at the top and bottom of the screen where you see the image being joined. Is there a way to fix the position of the background image and just have the table scroll over the top of it?

  • Listing documents directory contents in UITableView

    - by user1493543
So I've researched extensively on how to list the files in the documents directory in a table view and after much deliberation, came up with this code. Whenever I run this, the app crashes with EXEC_BAD_ACCESS. I've been busting my head for hours, so any help would be appreciated. All I'm doing is acquiring the files in the documents directory and trying to list them in a table view... Code is pasted in link below. http://pastie.org/4178767 Edit- App crashes in numberOfRowsInSection: method.

  • UITableView not showing background image.

    - by K.Honda
I have a uitableview with 2 cells (custom tableviewcells) and a button for login. I made them programmatically. Now I want to put a background image behind the 2 custom cells and the button. I went into IB and put the image view on top of the tableview and then put a picture on it which I want as the background. Then I went into viewDidLoad and put this bit of code tblSimpleTable.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; to clear the tableviews background colour. It now looks like this: But the background does not appear. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

  • Push notification is successfully sent, but the device does not receive (occasionally)

    - by ashiina
I have been having a problem where some devices will not receive a push notification, since yesterday. The certificate / devicetoken seem to be correct, since the device used to successfully receive push notifications until yesterday. On the server-side, there are no errors or connection refusals, and the push notification seems to be successfully sent every time. But still, there are many occasions where the device does not correctly receive the push. Some surrounding information: I am doing this on the production environment. No errors / connection refusals on the server-side I am sending the exactly same JSON everytime. 2 of our devices are not receiving the push notification AT ALL since yesterday 1 of our device receives push notifications at a lower success rate (about 70%) than yesterday 1~2 of our devices still receive push notifications successfully even now. All of the above devices were able to receive push notifications properly on the production environment until yesterday. There is no difference in the server-side result for when the push is successful, and when the device doesn't receive it... Therefore it is virtually impossible to identify the problem. This is the server-side PHP code I am using: $ctx = stream_context_create(); stream_context_set_option($ctx, 'ssl', 'local_cert', $this->apnsData[$development]['certificate']); $fp = stream_socket_client($this->apnsData[$development]['ssl'], $error, $errorString, 100, (STREAM_CLIENT_C ONNECT|STREAM_CLIENT_PERSISTENT), $ctx); if(!$fp){ $this->_pushFailed($pid); $this->_triggerError("Failed to connect to APNS: {$error} {$errorString}."); } else { $msg = chr(0).pack("n",32).pack('H*',$token).pack("n",strlen($message)).$message; $fwrite = fwrite($fp, $msg); if(!$fwrite) { error_log("[APNS] push failed..."); $this->_pushFailed($pid); $this->_triggerError("Failed writing to stream.", E_USER_ERROR); } else { error_log("[APNS] push successful! ::: $token -> $message ($fwrite bytes)"); } } fclose($fp); The log tells me that the push was successful (Cutting out the token for privacy) : [Wed Dec 12 11:42:00 2012] [error] [client 10.161.6.177] [APNS] push successful! ::: aa4f******44 -> {"aps":{"alert":{"body":"\\u300casdfasdf\\u300d","action-loc-key":"OK"},"badge":4,"sound":"chime"}} (134 bytes) Is there any way I can get help on this problem? Or is there anybody who is having the same problem?? Please help! I am getting complaints from some users on this....

  • Uitableview not able to hold data

    - by pankaj
Hi i have a uitableview, i am displaying some data of about 200 rows in it. Data will be displayed in several sections which will be determined at run time. I am able to get sections but i am not able to display data for a particular section in correct order. I have data in the form of dictionaries in an array. My Code: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { TeraGoAppDelegate *appDel = (TeraGoAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; UITableViewCell *cell = nil; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:nil] autorelease]; cell.textLabel.text = [(NSMutableDictionary *)[appDel.arrEqp objectAtIndex:countEqpIndex] objectForKey:@"EQP_NAME"]; cell.textLabel.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Arial" size:14]; if(![[(NSMutableDictionary *)[appDel.arrEqp objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] objectForKey:@"select"] isEqualToString:@"0"]) { cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckmark; } else cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryNone; } // Set up the cell... return cell; } I am trying to use indexPath.row but its values initialises from 0 in every section I can not get data from array in this case as i dont have index of array to get data. How will i get the index of array whose values i need to display????

  • UITextView refuses to change its color

    - by Friendlydeveloper
Hello, in some cases things you'd expect to solve within a sec turn out to become a lifetime adventure. This is one of these cases :) All I wanted to do, is simply change the text color of one of my UITextViews. So far I tried: UIColor *myColor = [UIColor colorWithHue:38 saturation:98 brightness:100 alpha:1.0]; [myTextView setTextColor:myColor]; OR UIColor *myColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"colorImage.png"]]; [myTextView setTextColor:myColor]; Both seem to work fine for UILabels, but fail for UITextView elements. When I try [UIColor colorWithHue... I only get a reddish kinda color, no matter what values I choose (except values for black and white. They work). The colorWithPatternImage does not change textColor at all. Strange isn't it? I obviously must be missing something. Help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm getting the screenshots from the following code:- CGImageRef cgScreen = UIGetScreenImage(); if (cgScreen) { UIImage *result = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:cgScreen]; CGImageRelease(cgScreen); return result; } I'm calling the above code in a timer of 1/1.0 seconds as:- [array addObject:[UIImage imageWithScreenContents]]; where imagewithScreenContents is a function. But after some seconds i.e after adding 90 frames application crashes. I'm unable to understand the problem. Can somebody help me in solving the problem. Thanks in Adv.

  • Time in "Upload Received"

    - by rpeck1682
I uploaded an app to itunes connect yesterday afternoon. It has been in the "Upload Received" stage ever since then. I uploaded a different app today, it was in that stage for only five minutes. This is the first time I've submitted since the new, more detailed status updates were present. I'm just wondering if the app sitting there in that state for so long seems like something to be concerned about. I'm guessing by staying in that state that it isn't being put on the review queue. Anyways, has anyone else had a similar experience?
