• JUnit - stop it from exiting on finish?

  Hi guys, Quick JUnit question. I'm running some unit tests that involve starting up the GUI and doing a load of stuff. I would like to see the results after the test to confirm it visually. However, it gets to the end of the code and exits, as it should. If I want to override this, I put a breakpoint on the last line of the test. This is pretty awkward though. Is there some option to stop it from exiting?

  Hello, I am writing an ASP.NET 3.5 application and need to send gridview values to a datatable for use in a listbox control as part of a quote process. • WCF DataContract with readonly properties

  I'm trying to return a complex type from a service method in WCF. I'm using C# and .NET 4. This complex type is meant to be invariant (the same way .net strings are). Furthermore, the service only returns it and never recieves it as an argument. If I try to define only getters on properties I get a run time error. I guess this is because no setters causes serialization to fail. Still, I think this type should be invariant. Example: [DataContract] class A { [DataMember] int ReadOnlyProperty {get; private set;} } The service fails to load due to a problem with serialization. Is there a way to make readonly properties on a WCF DataContract? Perhaps by replacing the serializer? If so, how? If not, what would you suggest for this problem? Thanks, Asaf

• UIView animation doesn't work first time

  Hello everybody, I have a seachButton in the navigation bar which upon hitting calls following method: - (IBAction)search:(id)sender { if (nil == searchViewController) searchViewController = [[SearchViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SearchViewController" bundle:nil]; searchViewController.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.0]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionCurlDown forView:searchViewController.view cache:NO]; [self.view addSubview:searchViewController.view]; [UIView commitAnimations]; } It should load SearchViewController.xib which contains a view with UISearchBar and two buttons. When I call the search method for the first time, the view appears very quickly with some weird animation, when I call it again, the animation is alright. Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong?

Where exactly is the leak?

  Hi, I'm trying to run mxmlc in the following manner. mxmlc -load-config+=mycfg.xml C:\\projects\\src\\main.mxml -output myswf.swf In the config file, I want to keep some values configurable, for example the paths of the external libraries. Is it possible to include a property file into the config file and use it as {property_name} in the config file? Or is it possible to pass certain arguments from the command line itself that will override/replace the corresponding values in the config file, like the -D option in the ant command? Please provide your suggestions.

• iphone memory leaks and malloc?

  Okay so im finally to the point where I am testing my iPad App on an actual iPad... One thing that my app does is display a large (2mb) image in a scroll view. This is causing the iPad to get memory warnings. I run the app in the instruments to check for the leak. When I load the image, a leak is detected and i see the following in the allocations: ALl Allocations: 83.9 MB Malloc 48.55 MB: 48.55 MB Malloc 34.63 MB: 34.63 MB What im trying to understand is how to plug the leak obviously, but also why a 2MB image is causing a malloc of 20x that size I am very new to programming in obj-c so im sure this is an obvious thing, but I just cant figure it out. • Composing Silverlight Applications With MEF

  Anyone who has written an application with complexity enough to warrant multiple controls on multiple pages/forms should understand the benefit of composite application development.  That is defining your application architecture that can be separated into separate pieces each with it’s own distinct purpose that can then be “composed” together into the solution. Composition can be useful in any layer of the application, from the presentation layer, the business layer, common services or data access.  Historically people have had different options to achieve composing applications from distinct well known pieces – their own version of dependency injection, containers to aid with composition like Unity, the composite application guidance for WPF and Silverlight and before that the composite application block. Microsoft has been working on another mechanism to aid composition and extension of applications for some time now – the Managed Extensibility Framework or MEF for short.  With Silverlight 4 it is part of the Silverlight environment.  MEF allows a much simplified mechanism for composition and extensibility compared to other mechanisms – which has always been the primary issue for adoption of the earlier mechanisms/frameworks. This post will guide you through the simple use of MEF for the scenario of composition of an application – using exports, imports and composition.  Steps: 1.     Create a new Silverlight 4 application. 2.     Add references to the following assemblies: System.ComponentModel.Composition.dll System.ComponentModel.Composition.Initialization.dll 3.     Add a new user control called LeftControl. 4.     Replace the LayoutRoot Grid with the following xaml:     <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="Beige" Margin="40" >         <Button Content="Left Content" Margin="30"></Button>     </Grid> 5.     Add the following statement to the top of the LeftControl.xaml.cs file using System.ComponentModel.Composition; 6.     Add the following attribute to the LeftControl class     [Export(typeof(LeftControl))]   This attribute tells MEF that the type LeftControl will be exported – i.e. made available for other applications to import and compose into the application. 7.     Add a new user control called RightControl. 8.     Replace the LayoutRoot Grid with the following xaml:     <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="Green" Margin="40"  >         <TextBlock Margin="40" Foreground="White" Text="Right Control" FontSize="16" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center" ></TextBlock>     </Grid> 9.     Add the following statement to the top of the RightControl.xaml.cs file using System.ComponentModel.Composition; 10.   Add the following attribute to the RightControl class     [Export(typeof(RightControl))] 11.   Add the following xaml to the LayoutRoot Grid in MainPage.xaml:         <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" HorizontalAlignment="Center">             <Border Name="LeftContent" Background="Red" BorderBrush="Gray" CornerRadius="20"></Border>             <Border Name="RightContent" Background="Red" BorderBrush="Gray" CornerRadius="20"></Border>         </StackPanel>   The borders will hold the controls that will be imported and composed via MEF. 12.   Add the following statement to the top of the MainPage.xaml.cs file using System.ComponentModel.Composition; 13.   Add the following properties to the MainPage class:         [Import(typeof(LeftControl))]         public LeftControl LeftUserControl { get; set; }         [Import(typeof(RightControl))]         public RightControl RightUserControl { get; set; }   This defines properties accepting LeftControl and RightControl types.  The attrributes are used to tell MEF the discovered type that should be applied to the property when composition occurs. 14.   Replace the MainPage constructore with the following code:         public MainPage()         {             InitializeComponent();             CompositionInitializer.SatisfyImports(this);             LeftContent.Child = LeftUserControl;             RightContent.Child = RightUserControl;         }   The CompositionInitializer.SatisfyImports(this) function call tells MEF to discover types related to the declared imports for this object (the MainPage object).  At that point, types matching those specified in the import defintions are discovered in the executing assembly location of the application and instantiated and assigned to the matching properties of the current object. 15.   Run the application and you will see the left control and right control types displayed in the MainPage:   Congratulations!  You have used MEF to dynamically compose user controls into a parent control in a composite application model. • Cocoa Touch - Display an Activity Indicator while loading a UITabBar View

  I have a UITabBar Application with two views that load large amounts of data from the web in their "viewWillAppear" methods. I want to show a progress bar or an activity indicator while this data is being retrieved, to make sure the user knows the app isn't frozen. I am aware that this has been asked before. I simply need some clarification on what seems to be a rather good solution. I have implimented the code in the example. The question's original asker later solved their problem, by putting the retrieval of data into another "thread". I understand the concept of threads, but I do not know how I would impliment this. With research, I have found that I need to move all of my heavy data retrieval into a background thread, as all of the UI updating occurs in the main thread. If one would be so kind as to provide an example for me, I would be very appreciative. I can provide parts of my existing code as necessary.

  I'm using the FreeType2 library in an iPhone project, and I'm trying to simply load a TTF file from the system, if possible. Is /System/Library/Fonts not the location of the fonts? Or, do iPhone apps simply not have any read access at all to that directory. Thanks!

  I have a HTML page which is showing blank after it loads completely. Here is the scenario, The page is build with a set of using 3 frames. There are various javascript's which push content into the site. Also, there is a timeout function, which checks if the user has not responded for 3 minutes, it logs out the session. The issue is, when I load this page whole page along with the content gets loaded, but after a fraction of seconds the page goes blank! This issue is only with iOS6 Safari on iPad. Can anyone help me out in figuring out the issue? Thanks in advance.

So I'm trying to find some ways to get actual size of loaded page (then I can change Height/Width of control) OR change scale of loaded page (to fit it to the actual WebControl control). Is it possible to do with standard WebControl methods?

  Welcome, In short, my website use BBcode system, and i want allow users to preview message without posting it. I'm using JQuery library. I need 3 actions. 1) When user click in textarea i want display DIV what will contain preview, i want animate opening. 2) When user typing, i want dynamical load parsed by PHP code to DIV. (i'm still thinking what will be best option... refresh every 2 seconds, or maybe we can detect and refresh after 1 second of inactivity [stop typing]) 3) When user click outside textarea i want close preview div with animation. For example the PHP parser will have patch /api/parser.php and variable by POST called $_POST['message']. Any idea my digital friends ?

• C/C++ Allegro program causes Windows 7 to switch to Aero Basic

• Lazy loading in Hibernate

  My Java Web application uses Hibernate to perform ORM. In some of my objects, I use lazy loading to avoid getting data until I absolutely need it. The problem is that I load the initial object in a session, and then that session is destroyed. When I later attempt to resolve the lazy-loaded collections in my object I get the following error: org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException: failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: common.model.impl.User.groups, no session or session was closed I tried associating a new session with the collection and then resolving, but this gives the same results. Does anyone know how I can resolve the lazy collections once the original session is gone? Thanks... --Steve

  I'm trying to make a web app that will manage my Mercurial repositories for me. I want it so that when I tell it to load repository X: Connect to a MySQL server and make sure X exists. Check if the user is allowed to access the repository. If above is true, get the location of X from a mysql server. Run a hgweb cgi script (python) containing the path of the repository. Here is the problem, I want to: take the hgweb script, modify it, and run it. But I do not want to: take the hgweb script, modify it, write it to a file and redirect there. I am using Apache to run the httpd process.

  Hi I have a page which has a img holder with the html: - <img src="someimage.jpeg" alt="image" class="show_image"/> Now i m updating the image with jquery using the code... $('.show_image').attr('src', 'anotherimage.jpeg'); Now its working fine but i want to show the users the image is being loaded and may wait as the image size may be huge... Is there any method in jquery to get the information of percent loaded(bytes read/remaining) or if the image load is complete... Also how can i place a div over the image placeholder such that the div can fade the image(opacity:0.8) and add some text over the div as loading or something thanks

• Google map in user control not loading from aspx code behind

  I am using Google maps API for proximity search. I have all this in an ascx client side. I have a button in the aspx code behind. The initial load of the map is fine. But on the button click, the map is not being loaded though all the other controls are loading properly. The controls are in an Update Panel and I am new to using these. Would appreciate in any suggestions made.
