    Hi, We are currently looking for a jquery developer, experienced specifically with flowplayer, to integrate a video player into our web application prototype. The player interface is being built in html and has to be wired to the flash player using the flowplayer jquery library. We also hope to be able to overlay some html elements on top of the video. Here's how the message shows up in the Event Log, with the HTML "markup", doesn't even handle it: Example 2: Please contact us via <a href="mailto:[email protected]">email</a> or <a href="http://example.com">online</a>. This is how I would like the message to show up, but with "email" and "online" as the link texts: Example 3: Please contact us via email or online. I've tried the <a href>...</a> HTML tags with no success.

  • (resolved) empty response body in ajax (or 206 Partial Content)

    Hi guys, I'm feeling completely stupid because I've spent two hours solving task which should be very simple and which I solved many times before. But now I'm not even sure in which direction to dig. I fail to fetch static content using ajax from local servers (Apache and Mongrel). I get responses 200 and 206 (depending on the server), empty response text (although Content-Length header is always correct), firebug shows request in red. Javascript is very generic, I'm getting same results even here: http://www.w3schools.com/ajax/tryit.asp?filename=tryajax_first (just change document location to 'http://localhost:3000/whatever') So, it's probably not the cause. Well, now I'm out of ideas. I can also post http headers, if it'll help. Thanks!   • Managing multiple AJAX calls to PHP scripts

    I have a set of 5 HTML dropdowns that act as filters for narrowing results returned from a mySQL database. The three pertinent filters are for "Province", "Region", and "City" selection, respectively. I have three functions: findSchools(), which runs when any of the filters (marked with CSS class .filter) are changed, and fetches the results via AJAX from a PHP script. Once that is done, two other functions are called... changeRegionOptions(), which, upon changing the "Province" filter, and updates the available options using the same method as the first function, but posting to a different script. changeCityOptions(), which runs if the "Region" filter was changed, and updates options, again using the same method. The problem is that since I want these AJAX functions to run simultaneously, and they by nature run asynchronously, I've tried using $.when to control the execution of the functions, but it doesn't fix the problem. The functions run, but the Region and City filters return blank (no options); the FireBug report shows absolutely no output, even though the POST request went through. The posted parameter for filter_province gets sent normally, but the one for region gets cut off at the end -- it sends as filter_region=, with no value passed. So I'm presuming my logic is wrong somewhere.     I'm doing some in browser editing, and I have some content that's on the order of around 20k characters long in a <pre>. So it looks something like: <pre> Text 1 Text 2 Text 3 Text 4 [...] Text 20,000 </pre> I'd like to use jquery to trim it down when someone hits a button to chop, but I'm having trouble doing it without overloading the browser. Assume I know that the character numbers are at 16,510 - 17,888, and what I'd like to do is trim it. I was using: jQuery('#textsection').html(jQuery('textarea').html().substr(range.start)); But browsers seem to enjoy crashing when I do this. Alternatives?

    I really love org-mode in emacs and want to customize a few things. While reading thru org.el, I'm finding several references to filename but can't find filename using describe-function? I'm sure there's a simple answer, but I'm just learning elisp and it's not obvious. Any insight into where filename is defined? And/or if it's not a function, what is it?   • MVC Rendered Partial, how to get partial/view model in main model post to controller

    I have a text file and when users upload the file, the controller action method parses that file using state machine and uses a generic list to store some values. I pass this back to the view in the form of an IEnumerable. Within my main view, based on this ienumerable list I render a partail view to iterate items and display labels and a textarea. Users could add their input in the text area.     I'm building an app with a build target of 1.5 . I have a variable, WebView browser, that is calling loadUrl to load a static HTML page from my assets folder. In that HTML page, the following JavaScript is defined: var supportsTouch = ('createTouch' in document); ... var w = $('wrapper'); w[supportsTouch ? 'touchmove' : 'onmousemove'] = move; w[supportsTouch ? 'touchend' : 'onmouseup'] = function(event){ dragging = false; }; where move is another function that handles the dragging. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work. I cannot figure out a concise list of which touch events are available to Android--is it ontouchmove, or touchmove? Am I supposed to set up an onTouchEvent call back in my Java code, which then launches the JavaScript function?

    i have this issue working but i would like to know if there is a better way of adding the file extension? what i am doing right now is: String filePath = chooser.getSelectedFile().getAbsoluteFile() + ".html"; im adding the extension hard coded. and then saving to it. just wondering if there is a more robust/logical manner this can be implemented? thank you for your time. EDIT: i ask this as i would like my app to be portable across platforms. so adding .html manually i may make this a windows only solution.

    Hi I've been trying to create a GUI using netbeans, that includes a dialog similar to Netbean's own "property dialog" that appears when designing. ie. a dialog that contains a table that can be expanded by tree nodes. Something like the dialog on this page, http://platform.netbeans.org/tutorials/nbm-property-editors.html As far as I can understand, the page I linked to describes a custom editor I can set up for use within netbeans while designing - I'm just looking for a way to doing something similar for my actual application I'm writing. Is there an easy way to do this?   • are there any negative implications of sourcing a javascript file that does not actually exist?

    If you do script src="/path/to/nonexistent/file.js" in an HTML file and call that in a browser, and there are no dependencies or resources anywhere else in the HTML file that expect the file or code therein to actually exist, is there anything inherently bad-practice about doing this? Yes, it is an odd question. The rationale is the developer is dealing with a CMS that allows custom (self-contained) javascript files to be provided in certain circumstances. The problem is the CMS is not very flexible when it comes to creating conditional includes for javascript. Therefore it is easier to just make references to the self-contained js files regardless of whether they are actually at the specified path. Since no errors are displayed to the user, should this practice be considered a viable option?

    Personally I've been working for years with Telerik's RadControls and DevExpress ASP.NET controls. IMHO they both produce quite a lot HTML overhead on the client side thus for that I've never been highly pleased with them. I also know about Infragistics, ComponentOne, ComponentArt, etc. How are these? I'd assume they are not much different than those I mentioned. Which (commercial) controls suite generates the most compact HTML on the client side? Do you have any recommendations?

    My setting: Apache 2.2 + Tomcat 6.0 @ Windows 2008 R2 64bit static webpages: / servlet: /foo tomcat and apache are connected by mod_jk 404.jsp is placed in tomcat\webapps\ROOT tomcat\conf\web.xml: <error-page> <error-code>404</error-code> <location>/404.jsp</location> </error-page> apache\conf\extra\httpd-ssl.conf: JkMount /foo/* worker1 JkMount /404.jsp worker1 When I open https://...../404.jsp my custom error page is displayed. But when I open https://...../foo/nonexisting.html an empty page is displayed. If I remove the <error-page>...</error-page> code from web.xml and open https://...../foo/nonexisting.html then tomcats own 404 is displayed. Any hints?

I know that i can use the HTML HELPER (.labelfor(.. .inputTextFor(... ) ..but i don't like to write the html tags around the fields and labels ( ... ) I want that all the form in my application look similar and, if a change is needed i want to make it in one place ( ex in the "FormComponentFactory()" for example ) I created my own FormComponent but i find myself reinvent the wheel..

  • how to run javascript from c# code ?

    I have a webrequest that returns a html response which has form inside with hidden fields with some javascript that submits the form automatically on pageload ( if this was run in a browser). If I save this file as *.html and run this file in browser , the java script code automatically posts the form and the output is excel file. I want to be able to generate this file from a c# code which is not running in broswer. I tried mocking thr form post but its complicated and has various scenarios based on the original webrequest querystring. any pointers.... i know its not possible to probably run JS code that posts the form - from within c# code but still thought of chekcing if someone has done that.
