I assigned these styles to the child window: WS_CHILDWINDOW | WS_VISIBLE | WS_VSCROLL | WS_HSCROLL | WS_SIZEBOX | WS_CAPTION The child window I get has a caption and a resizable border. However there's no close button in the caption, and the caption/border of the child window is not transparent (I'm using the aero theme in windows 7).   • Need example of how to create/manipulate image pixel data with iPhone SDK

    Looking for a simple example or link to a tutorial. Say I have a bunch of values stored in an array. I would like to create an image and update the image data from my array. Assume the array values are intensity data and will be updating a grayscale image. Assume the array values are between 0 and 255 -- or that I will convert it to that range. This is not for purposes of animation. Rather the image would be updated based on user interaction. This is something I know how to do well in Java, but am very new to iPhone programming. I've googled some information about CGImage and UIImage -- but am confused as to where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

    In my iPhone app, I am using the UIImagePickerController with source type UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera. When the user takes a picture, the phone plays the familiar camera shutter sound. How can I replace this with my own custom sound? I know it's possible because I've seen other apps from the App Store do it (e.g. Red Laser). Thanks in advance!

  • Error while compiling pjsip 2 for cxode 4.3.2 and SDK 5.1

    I'm trying to compile pjsip version 2 using the terminal and I'm getting constant error no matter what I try. Been looking for the answer all over the internet including stackoverflow. I downloaded pjsip version 2 using their subversion repository today so all files should be up to date.   • iPhone: Helpful Classes or extended Subclasses which should have been in the SDK

    This is more a community sharing post than a real question. In my iPhone OS projects I'm always importing a helper class with helpful methods which I can use for about every project. So I thought it might be a good idea, if everyone shares some of their favorite methods, which should have been in everyones toolcase. I'll start with an extension of the NSString class, so I can make strings with dates on the fly providing format and locale.   • SDK Facebook app - allow to use the app only on FB, not on my website

    I am newbie in creating apps for Facebook and I would like to ask you about a few things. I created my first app, in the settings I set up the domain URL, canvas URL, etc... when I load the app via apps.facebook.com/my_app_name the app is working, but also when I visit the page via the canvas URL I configured. Is there any way to only allow access to the app only when loaded inside the Facebook chrome? Also, in the app that I made are some links, buttons, etc. and when you hover over them with the mouse you can see my own domain in the status bar below. Is there a way to change that?

    Stack overflow I want to make a universal version of my app available, but I am wondering how is data managed between the iPad and the iPhone versions? -Are they completely independent? or if I have a plist in the iPad app, does it also appear in the iPhone app. If so, is there any syncing etc etc. I have a few months experience with single iPad or iPhone apps, but never a universal.   • Evaluating expressions using Visual Studio 2005 SDK rather than automation's Debugger::GetExpression

    I'm looking into writing an addin (or package, if necessary) for Visual Studio 2005 that needs watch window type functionality -- evaluation of expressions and examination of the types. The automation facilities provide Debugger::GetExpression, which is useful enough, but the information provided is a bit crude. From looking through the docs, it sounds like an IDebugExpressionContext2 would be more useful. With one of these it looks as if I can get more information from an expression -- detailed information about the type and any members and so on and so forth, without having everything come through as strings. I can't find any way of actually getting a IDebugExpressionContext2, though! IDebugProgramProvider2 sort of looks relevant, in that I could start with IDebugProgramProvider2::GetProviderProcessData and then slowly drill down until reaching something that can supply my expression context -- but I'll need to supply a port to this, and it's not clear how to retrieve the port corresponding to the current debug session. (Even if I tried every port, it's not obvious how to tell which port is the right one...) I'm becoming suspicious that this simply isn't a supported use case, but with any luck I've simply missed something crashingly obvious. Can anybody help?

    Hello, I'm a bit stumped here, I'm trying to make it so an image (already in the drawable folder) gets created everytime you touch the screen and removed when the finger is lifted. I have the touch part coded already, overriding the onTouch method with a couple switch cases that handle each type of action (down, up, move, etc). But I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the image appear and then disappear with the coordinates (matrix?) of where the finger is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    I'm aware that API 3 doesn't allow a view to be set for a tab, but I still need to modify the TextView displayed as the indicator. I'd also like to change the Drawable for the tab, but I don't see a way to do it without a custom tab view as allowed in 1.6, API 4. Working with this generic example below, is there way to retrieve the TextView and modify its properties or change the drawable?     I want to catch both mouse down and mouse up using gesture recognizer. However, when the mouse down is caught, mouse up is never caught.     Hi, I'm currently working on an IPhone App that should make the phone vibrate if a special event occurs. The checks to trigger the alert is done in a thread. Unfortunately the phone won't vibrate if I call AudioServicesPlaySystemSound(kSystemSoundID_Vibrate); from inside the thread. (It works fine if I call this in my "viewDidAppear" method). I even tried to do a callback from inside the thead like this: inside Thread: [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(doAlarm) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:true]; -(void)doAlarm { AudioServicesPlaySystemSound(kSystemSoundID_Vibrate); } which has the same result: No vibration on the phone. How do I make the phone vibrate from inside a thread ?? Thanks in advance

  • popViewControllerAnimated doesn't update info iPhone SDK

    When I try to pop a view controller, it doesnt update info for the previous view. Example: I have a cell that displays text in a label in View1. When you click on the cell it goes to View2 (for example) When I choose an option in View2, popViewControllerAnimated is used to go back to View1, however, I want the label to now be updated with the new option in View1. My dilemma is that when I pop View2, the label in View1 does not update. Any ideas?     Hi all, In my application, I have a tag multiple times. I'm using xml parser. I'm taking a corresponding element with similar name as the one in xml file in my class. So in case of: <photo>abc</photo> <photo>def</photo> What I get in photo element of my class is the second element i.e def, as the first one gets overwritten as there's only one photo element in my class. My question is am I wrong in taking similar elements in class as in case of xml? Is there any better method or a better parser? Or I'm on right path and have to do this manually by setting some flags etc? Thanx in advance.
