  • What's best practice to check if an object is part of a ManyToMany relationship in Django

    from an instance of Site with a ManyToMany relationship to Kiosk, i'd like to check if a Kiosk object is part of the relationship. I could do self.apps.get(id=app_id).exists() and check if True or self.apps.get(id=app_id) and catch the ObjectDoesNotExist error or self.apps.filter(id=app_id) and check if True If I have to catch a possible ObjectDoesNotExist error, I may as well use the second one I can do the second but doesnt seem super clean can use the third one but using filter on a unique ID seems wrong to me You can tell me to use whatever works and that'll be a valid answer ;-)

    I have an existing client who has a fan page for their brand already. I need to create a Facebook Connect enabled website (so I'll be creating an application for it). I want the Facebook Connect application to post to the Fan page's wall as the brand. Is this possible? Is there a way to associate an application with a Fan page if I was an admin of both? Now each tab will essentially have the same layout just different things in the layout and I wanted to be able to reuse the same layout so that I won't have to change at many places ( it's just not good programming ). Can I accomplish this using resources or perhaps Styles. Please supply a light code example if possible.

    Hi all this is my first Question here! Im just making my first steps with (Ext-) GWT. I´m testing the Ext-GWT libraries and really: These are absolute great! Now my question: Is it possible to make a kind of "clear-Portal" or "hide all portles" for a defined Portal? Or have i always manually clear the portal like in my example code above? The Listener on this button should hide all portlets in the portal (at this time its the portletUser and portletVehicles) and then add another portlet (for example the portletCountries): portletUser.hide(); portletVehicles.hide(); portal.add(portletCountries, 0) Question from above again ;-) Is it possible to make a kind of "clear-Portal" or "hide all portles" for a defined Portal?     Is there any way to upload an image (UIImage) directly from an iPhone app to a user's wall/feed? All the samples I see are either using a json-embedded link or they use the photos.upload call with album ID (aid) which results in the user getting the image in his photo album(s). What I want to do is to upload an (UI)Image created (by the user) inside an iPhone app and upload to his/her wall. Is this possible? Sample code would be highly appreciated.

    Hello every one, We are working on a software that uses OPENOCR engine to do some OCR on given images, given we are using .NET framework , i was wondering if anyone knows about any good possible filters or sharpening methods that can be applied to the image prior to sending it to OCR engine. I have found for example a grayscaled image is much easier for OCR engine to read than a color images. are there any other techniques or image filttering that you guys know of , that can decrease the error margin by OCR engine ?     Greetings, in my ASP.NET MVC application I've created a custom MembershipProvider. It works fine, however when user is successfully logged, I would like to create an Operator object and make it possible to access this object on every controller and view. I was thinking about session to do this but when session expires this object is null but user that had been logged using MembershipProvider is still logged in. Is there any way I can store my Operator object in MembershipProvider and access it on every controller and view I need?

I've thought about hiding the border and putting the treeview inside a rounded rectangle, but this loses real-estate and seems in-elegant. Any ideas?

As Moose does automatic object building, i do not get to understand if this something possible, and how to create a Moose class with Moose syntax and having this behaviour Eg: The user asks: $file = Repository-new(uri='sftp://blabla') .... and is returned an Repository::_Sftp instance User would use $file as if it is a Repository instance, without the need to know the real subclass (polymorphism)
