• Problem with DNS

  Hey, I bought a new website, and the company gived me another free domain name, so when I asked for the socond they created it and they told me to change the DNS to look like the first one. It's been a week waiting for it to propagate, today when I type the url I got this error message : If you are the web site owner, it is possible you have reached this page because: * The IP address has changed. * There has been a server misconfiguration. * The site may have been moved to a different server. If you are the owner of this website and were not expecting to see this page, please contact your hosting provider. When I try to add the second domain to my cpanel (Addon domain) I get also another error : The addon domain “abcdef.com” has been created. An account with that login already exists. Do you have any ideas about this problem. Thanks. EDIT I tried to flush the DNS with ipconfig /flushdns, but It's not changing anything.

• Can a loosely typed language be considered true object oriented?

  Can a loosely typed programming language like PHP be really considered object oriented? I mean, the methods don't have returning types and method parameters has no declared type either. Doesn't class design require methods to have a return type? Don't methods signatures have specifically-typed parameters? How can OOP techniques help you code in PHP if you always have to check the types of parameters received because the language doesn't enforce types? Please, if I'm wrong, explain it to me. When you design things using UML, then code classes in PHP with no return-typed methods and no-type parameters... Is the code really compliant with the UML design? You spend time designing the architecture of your software, then the compiler doesn't force the programmer to follow your design while coding, letting he/she assign any object variable to any other variable with no "type-mismatch" warning.

• Server 2003 on domain wont let domain user have local profile

  I have a few servers that are acting in this behavior, you log in and always get put into a temporary profile. The server is licensed for TS. The user I am testing with has local admin rights so it doesn't seem to be a permission issue on the server. I'll first get a message that the users roaming profile cannot be found, even though we dont use roaming profiles. I then get another message immediately after saying a local profile could not be loaded, so it will only use a temp profile. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Need assistance for domain forwarding

  Briefly my question is about combining my registered domain with the websites listening on port 80/8080 on my server. I have a web server IIS on windows 7 and two web sites listening on port 80 and 8080. I have successfully forwarded any incoming request to port 80 and 8080 to my web server. So everything works like a charm when I try to access these websites entering http://myglobalip:80/Index.aspx or http://myglobalip:8080/Index.aspx from a computer outside of the local network. So I have a domain registered, lets say www.mydomain.com. What steps should I follow in which sequence? What should I consider to do? I need a step by step guide to follow. I have registered my domain on godaddy's website and only configured forwarding so the domain forward to my webserver but when I attempt to access the web page, It always try and try until It times out.

• Domain Name Expired, Will My Backorder Work?

  I'm interested in a domain name that expired August 9, 2012 and backordered it a few months ago. When I check the status of the domain name, it is listed as "autoRenewPeriod". It has a new expiration date of August 9, 2013, but a Google search indicates that "autoRenewPeriod" means the registrar automatically renewed the domain but has not received payment yet. Does anyone have experience with this? How long will it stay in "autoRenewPeriod" before being released by the registrar? Do I have a good chance of grabbing the domain name?

I have registered a Domain with fake info 24 hours ago (I didn't know its illegal! :() its still pending (not available yet) I'm not like, criminal or spammer but I don't want to show my real id, what do you suggest so I don't lose my Domain.   I am new to DDD, having worked only in Transaction-Script apps with an anemic model, or just Big Balls of Mud, so please forgive any terminology I abuse. I am trying to understand the proper separation between the domain model and the repository. What is the proper way to construct a domain object that is coming from a database, assuming the (incredibly simplified) need to query for objects by status (returns enumerable), or by ID. Should a factory be building the objects, exposing methods for GetByStatus() and GetByID(), using a DIed repository? Should a repository be called directly, knowing how to build a domain model from the DTO? Should the domain model have a constructor for get by ID, using a DIed repoistory to load the initial state, using some other (?) method for the list? I am not really sure what the best way would be, and this question has an answer advocating each one (these are certainly mutuallu exclusive).

  I used make-dummmy-cert that comes with apache 2.2 and ssl_mod to make a self-signed certificate, I tried www.domain.com domain.com *.domain.com, none of them would work for both www.domain.com and domain.com. The browser would say The certificate is only valid for domain.com( or www.domain.com or *.domain.com respectively) how do I make a self-signed cert that would work for both cases?

• C# connect to domain SQL Server 2005 from non-domain machine

  Hi, I asked a question a few days ago (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2795723/access-to-sql-server-2005-from-a-non-domain-machine-using-windows-authentication) which got some interesting, but not usable suggestions. I'd like to ask the question again, but make clear what my constraints are: I have a Windows domain within which a machine is running SQL Server 2005 and which is configured to support only Windows authentication. I would like to run a C# client application on a machine on the same network, but which is NOT on the domain, and access a database on the SQL Server 2005 instance. I CANNOT create or modify OS or SQL Server users on either machine, and I CANNOT make any changes to permissions or impersonation, and I CANNOT make use of runas. I know that I can write Perl and Java applications that can connect to the SQL Server database using only these four parameters: server name, database name, username (in the form domain\user), and password. In C# I have tried various things around: string connectionString = "Data Source=server;Initial Catalog=database;User Id=domain\user;Password=password"; SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(connectionString); connection.Open(); and tried setting integrated security to true and false, but nothing seems to work. Shutting down our branded domain isn't an option, we've already got too much invested in that brand (not in terms of SEO but in terms of other marketing efforts). • Architecting multi-model multi-DB ASP.NET MVC solution

  I have an ASP.NET MVC 4 solution that I'm putting together, leveraging IoC and the repository pattern using Entity Framework 5. I have a new requirement to be able to pull data from a second database (from another internal application) which I don't have control over. There is no API available unfortunately for the second application and the general pattern at my place of work is to go direct to the database. I want to maintain a consistent approach to modeling the domain and use entity framework to pull the data out, so thus far I have used Entity Framework's database first approach to generate a domain model and database context over the top of this. However, I've become a little stuck on how to include the second domain model in the application. I have a generic repository which I've now moved out to a common DataAccess project, but short of creating two distinct wrappers for the generic repository (so each can identify with a specific database context), I'm struggling to see how I can elegantly include multiple models?

• Forwarding a subdomain to main domain using Godaddy.

  I have current blog, which was hosted on Tumblr at http://blog.ryanhayes.net. I'm moving it over to http://ryanhayes.net, and have all the 301 redirects set up for the blog entries to map to my new blog, which is hosted using Godaddy (domain included). When I try to set up a subdomain forward, I'm greeted with a nice 403 Forbidden response (as of this writing, you can see it at http://blog.ryanhayes.net. When I try to ping both the subdomain and domain, they point to the same IP address, so I know blog subdomain has at least switched over to point to the same content. I don't really understand why I would get a 403 Forbidden on the same content that I can see perfectly fine via another domain. Currently, I have a CNAME of blog pointing to @, which is how "www" is set up to forward, so I'm assuming it would do the same thing. My question is what is the proper way to set up my DNS to make the blog subdomain forward to my main domain (301) using the GoDaddy DNS manager? Bonus: What is the background on why I am getting a 403 error the current way? Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. UPDATE 12/7/2010 Error on site has been fixed, you can no longer view it from my site.

• Resolve another domain from current AD domain

  We have 2 AD domain setup in our office. First is the primary domain for our office and exchange. The 2nd one is for development use to simulate production environment of our clients. Both domain are hosted on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise. We, the development team has no access to the office domain other than login and email purpose. DNS is running on PDC of both domain. Both domain does not use public domain name. Now, our machines are joined to the development domain and we use outlook to access our office's exchange. We've added DNS entries for both the domain. From time to time we are having problem resolving our office domain (i.e. during outlook login), which we need to edit our NIC's DNS to have only DNS server from our office and then flush DNS. After that switch back once it's able to resolve. Is there a permanent solution for this scenario like specifying that the office domain be resolve with another DNS server when requested from the development domain? Thanks

I feel like you will not get a good definition from someone who goes around saying “object” and “object-oriented” with his nose in the air. Nor will you get a good definition from someone who has done nothing but object-oriented programming. No one who understands both procedural and object-oriented programming has ever given me a consistent idea of what an object-oriented program actually does. Can someone please give me their ideas of the advantages of object-oriented programming?

• Primary domain in vps in vps has been deactivated

  This is my scenario: I have a vps with two domains (example1.com, example2.com). When I started with this vps I set example1.com as primary domain and the nameserver were configured with the pattern ns1.example.com, ns2.example1.com. The domains were brought in name.com. Across the time, I usually only work whit the domain example2.com, for that reason I stopped to pay example1.com anual registration and just keep the example2.com. But, today my vps is unreacheable because the main domain was deactivated last ago 23th. I never imagined that it could affect my server. So, I am so worried because I don't know if rebuild the vps is the solution here because I could lost my data. Can you take me to the right direction in order to recover my vps?

• Buying a parked domain if the contact email bounces

  I'm trying to buy a domain which is parked, but the contact email address listed on the page itself bounces. I looked up the WHOIS data and there are no email addresses or phone numbers listed. There are way too many hits on facebook / linkedin to try just searching for the name. What recourses do I have to try to get into contact with the owner? UPDATE: Hosted on the same IP are 206 identical "parked" pages, whose sole difference is the domain and the email address (always "info@[domain].it"): http://www.bing.com/search?q=ip%3A151.1.48.220 Whois info shows contact information for none (that I sampled) but all with different names o_O

• Safety of purchasing country-specific domains from registrars?

  None of the previous questions tackle some of the one-off (or further) countries' registries, beyond .co.uk, .it, et al. or else I'd have found an answer myself. Is it safe to buy a domain from a foreign country TLD from a registrar? http://www.iana.org/domains/root/db/ I'm just looking for information for a vanity domain, so obviously I'm alright without an answer, but it's an unasked question (or at least, unanswered), and I'm not exactly in a hurry to give my credit card information over country lines, sight unseen.

• Multiple domain names with pages linking to one website

  Hello, I work for a company who have been redesigning their company website. I have been asked to register loads of domain names that contain the keywords that they want to use on the original site. Each of these domain names will contain a one page website with a destription of what the company offers and a link saying something along the lines of 'click here for more infmormation' which then takes you to the main site. The idea being the main site will then be recieving a lot of inbound links and hopefully rise in the google rankings, not to mention bring in more customers who have come to the site from all the other domain names who wouldn't have normally got to the website because it wasn't ranked on the first page. Is this a good idea or will Google see this as spam and penalise the main site for having loads of links to it from one page websites hosted on the same nameserver? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark.
