  • Hide html horizontal but not vertical scrollbar

    I have an html textarea that is of fixed width, but variable height. I would like to set overflow:scroll and be able to show a vertical scrollbar, but not a horizontal one. I am not able to use overflow:auto due to other things specific to my situation. I know there is no way using CSS 2 to show only vertical but not horizontal scrollbars. Is there anything I can do with javascript to hide the horizontal scrollbar?

    I'm running Windows 7 x64 with Gvim 7.4 Using my external mouse, I was wondering how to achieve 'horizontal scroll', I read all the documentation about it but still haven't figured out how to achieve it. 'horizontal scroll' to me means holding down the middle mouse button and moving the mouse horizontally. But that's just not working. Essentially what I want to achieve is something like this VS plugin. I know about zl/zh but I want to scroll horizontally from the mouse (by holding MMB and moving horizontally like I said, somehow, maybe?) So when does ScrollWheelLeft/ScrollWheelRight events get fired? Thanks.

  • Extending my desktop across two monitors with Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT

    When I played my old computer before I got this one, I was able to use the horizontal span. (Nvidia Geforce 6200 I believe) However, with this new computer, using vista and the 8800, the horizontal span option is gone, and all I have is dual veiw, which doesn't suit my needs. I play World of Warcraft on both my monitors, using CT_Viewport to keep my character and my veiwport on a single screen, while the majority of my addons lie on my other monitor. The problem with dual view is that the WoW will only stay on my primary monitor. Horizontal span would fix this easily, but there is no option for it. Any help regarding this?

    I'm recently working on this platform for which a legacy codebase issues a large number of "cast increases required alignment to N" warnings, where N is the size of the target of the cast. struct Message { int32_t id; int32_t type; int8_t data[16]; }; int32_t GetMessageInt(const Message& m) { return *reinterpret_cast<int32_t*>(&data[0]); } Hopefully it's obvious that a "real" implementation would be a bit more complex, but the basic point is that I've got data coming from somewhere, I know that it's aligned (because I need the id and type to be aligned), and yet I get the message that the cast is increasing the alignment, in the example case, to 4. Now I know that I can suppress the warning with an argument to the compiler, and I know that I can cast the bit inside the parentheses to void* first, but I don't really want to go through every bit of code that needs this sort of manipulation (there's a lot because we load a lot of data off of disk, and that data comes in as char buffers so that we can easily pointer-advance), but can anyone give me any other thoughts on this problem? I mean, to me it seems like such an important and common option that you wouldn't want to warn, and if there is actually the possibility of doing it wrong then suppressing the warning isn't going to help. Finally, can't the compiler know as I do how the object in question is actually aligned in the structure, so it should be able to not worry about the alignment on that particular object unless it got bumped a byte or two?

    Is there a way to modify the member alignment of an existing struct in Visual C++? Here is the background: I use an 3rd-party library, which uses several structs. To fill up the structs, I pass the address of the struct instance to some functions. Unfortunately, the functions only returns unaligned buffer, so that data of some members are always wrong. /Zp is out of choice, since it breaks the other parts of the program. I know #pragma pack modifies the alignment of the following struct, but I do not want to copy the structs into my code, for the definitions in the library might change in the future. I am doing this from biopython using AlignIO object.     DataGridView gets bound to DataTable. I then try to set some columns' DefaultCellStyle.Alignment to right. It doesn't work. After a bunch of tinkering, it turns out that every single row's DefaultCellStyle.Alignment is set to left and overrides it. DataGridView.DefaultCellStyle or RowsDefaultCellStyle doesn't do anything. Makes sense since a particular row's DefaultCellStyle is more specific but what gives. Why are they all set to something and not NotSet? How do I get rid of it instead of iterating through all rows?

When I am in horizontal orientation my modal view does not appear in the center of the screen. I have to dismiss my keyboard for the modal view to appear in the center.   • Clicking sound on MacBook Pro 13" 2010 model when turning the laptop on it's horizontal axis

    When I leave my MacBook Pro 13" level for a minute or two (sometimes I only need to keep it level for a few seconds), and then pick it up and turn it on it's horizontal axis, I hear a single click, coming from either the hard drive or the Super Drive. Is the click I am hearing some sort of locking mechanism in the hard drive? Or in the Super Drive?.. And therefore nothing to worry about. Or is either my Super Drive or hard drive faulty?

  • miglayout: can't get right-alignment to work

    Something's not right here. I'm trying to get the rightmost button (labeled "help" in the example below) to be right-aligned to the JFrame, and the huge buttons to have their width tied to the JFrame but be at least 180px each. I got the huge button constraint to work, but not the right alignment. I thought the right alignment was accomplished by gapbefore push (as in this other SO question), but I can't figure it out.
