  I have a web client and a EJB project, which I created with Eclipse 3.4. When I want to deploy it on Jboss 5.0.1, I receive the error below. • Force Browser Mode=IE8 and document mode=IE8 Standards

  I have a internal website hosted on IIS. I added the following meta code and also add http-header that the page should in IE8 Browser mode and document mode. <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" > We tested it on Visual Studio and and it works very well. However, after we publish the code to another IIS server, one developer reported that the page render in "IE8 Comatiblity" Browser Mode which causes some JavaScript to fail. There are more then 4 people working on the same windows server 2003 (RDP sessions). We use the same version of IE (same IE actually). Everyone get "IE8" Browser Mode but one person gets "IE8 Compatibility" Browser Mode. What else can make a specific user's IE load the page in a mode other than IE8 mode? PS. We checked the compatibility list in the IE; it is empty.

  Hi. In my Application, I display data in webview but it can't display the images in the webview. I used loadDatawithBaseURL() method. This is my code.. webview.loadDataWithBaseURL("file:///059600656X/", data, "text/html", "UTF-8", "about:blank"); // here data is a string object which contain html parsing data. I think it cant find the images in given directory. Can Anybody help me?

  All, A client is asking for Facebook Connect statistical data. Specifically, how many people have shared a link to their wall. I have a Facebook app setup but I am having trouble interpreting the statistical data. Do Facebook apps collect this data, or can anyone think of any way of gleaning this data from the past month, from server logs or something? For instance, can I look at the logs for xd_receiver.htm and see usage patterns from that, or something?

  I am attempting to use the validate decorator in Pylons with FormEncode and I have encountered an issue. I am attempting to validate a form on a controller action that requires parameters, and if the validation fails, the parameters aren't passed back in when the form is re-rendered. Here's an example. def question_set(self, id): c.question_set = meta.Session.query(QuestionSet).filter_by(id=id).first() c.question_subjects = meta.Session.query(QuestionSubject).order_by(QuestionSubject.name).all() return render('/derived/admin/question_set.mako') This is the controller action that contains my form. The form will add questions to an existing question set, which is identified by id. My add question controller action looks like this: @validate(schema=QuestionForm(), form='question_set', post_only=True) def add_question(self): stuff... Now, if the validation fails FormEncode attempts to redisplay the question_set form, but it does not pass the id parameter back in, so the question set form will not render. Is it possible to pass the id back in with the @validate decorator, or do I need to use a different method to achieve what I am attempting to do?

  I am trying to implement simple xhr abstraction, and am getting this warning when trying to set the headers for a POST. I think it might have something to do with setting the headers in a separate js file, because when i set them in the <script> tag in the .html file, it worked fine. The POST request is working fine, but I get this warning, and am curious why. I get this warning for both content-length and connection headers, but only in WebKit browsers (Chrome 5 beta and Safari 4). In Firefox, I don't get any warnings, the Content-Length header is set to the correct value, but the Connection is set to keep-alive instead of close, which makes me think that it is also ignoring my setRequestHeader calls and generating it's own. I have not tried this code in IE. However, the default setting in IE make all intranet website use "IE8 Compatibility Mode" even I have setted doctype, the meta tag, http header as suggested to force it into IE8 mode. • Building Eclipse RCP application, running fails

  Hi, after successfully building my application the start fails because it relies on config files which are located in the META-INF directory and after the build this directory is zipped into a jar file, hence making it unable to access the config files. After manually unzipping the jar, deleting the jar and renaming the directory with xxx.jar the program runs without a problem. The config files are needed for SSO login (Kerberos). • Can I use a MIME type declaration to get an HTML file to open in MS Word?

  Hi, is it possible to replace a method of a Moose object at runtime ? By looking at the source code of Class::MOP::Method(which Moose::Meta::Method inherits from) I concluded that by doing $method->{body} = sub{ my stuff } I would be able to replace at runtime a method of an object. I can get the method using $object->meta->find_method_by_name(<method_name>); However.. this didn't quite work out. Is it conceivable to modify methods at runtime ? and what is the way to do it with Moose ? Thanks

I registered it in App start like: ModelBinders.Binders[typeof(MyOtherModel)] = new MyCustomBinder(); but this doesn't work. Any idea or any good article with more infor regarding to model binders?

What is a good, easy way to redirect users to the mirror site if they don't have javaScript enabled?   Hi, I am trying to build a lambda expression, containing two assignments (as shown further down), that I can then pass to a Queryable.Select() method. I am trying to pass a string variable into a method and then use that variable to build up the lambda expression so that I can use it in a LINQ Select query. My reasoning behind it is that I have a SQL Server datasource with many column names, I am creating a charting application that will allow the user to select, say by typing in the column name, the actual column of data they want to view in the y-axis of my chart, with the x-axis always being the DateTime. Therefore, they can essentially choose what data they chart against the DateTime value (it’s a data warehouse type app).   I built an ajax chat in one of my mvc website. everything is working fine. I am using polling. At certain interval i am using $.post to get the messages from the db. But there is a problem.   How does one use multiprocessing to tackle embarrassingly parallel problems? Embarassingly parallel problems typically consist of three basic parts: Read input data (from a file, database, tcp connection, etc.). Run calculations on the input data, where each calculation is independent of any other calculation. Write results of calculations (to a file, database, tcp connection, etc.). We can parallelize the program in two dimensions: Part 2 can run on multiple cores, since each calculation is independent; order of processing doesn't matter. Each part can run independently. Part 1 can place data on an input queue, part 2 can pull data off the input queue and put results onto an output queue, and part 3 can pull results off the output queue and write them out. This seems a most basic pattern in concurrent programming, but I am still lost in trying to solve it, so let's write a canonical example to illustrate how this is done using multiprocessing. Here is the example problem: Given a CSV file with rows of integers as input, compute their sums. I would appreciate any insight here as to how you concurrency gurus would approach this problem. Here are some questions I had when thinking about this problem. Bonus points for addressing any/all: Should I have child processes for reading in the data and placing it into the queue, or can the main process do this without blocking until all input is read? Likewise, should I have a child process for writing the results out from the processed queue, or can the main process do this without having to wait for all the results? Should I use a processes pool for the sum operations? If yes, what method do I call on the pool to get it to start processing the results coming into the input queue, without blocking the input and output processes, too? apply_async()? map_async()? imap()? imap_unordered()? Suppose we didn't need to siphon off the input and output queues as data entered them, but could wait until all input was parsed and all results were calculated (e.g., because we know all the input and output will fit in system memory). Should we change the algorithm in any way (e.g., not run any processes concurrently with I/O)?

• Unicode issue in Django

  I seem to have a unicode problem with the deal_instance_name in the Deal model. It says: coercing to Unicode: need string or buffer, __proxy__ found The exception happens on this line: return smart_unicode(self.deal_type.deal_name) + _(u' - Set No.') + str(self.set) The line works if I remove smart_unicode(self.deal_type.deal_name) but why? Back then in Django 1.1 someone had the same problem on Stackoverflow I have tried both the unicode() as well as the new smart_unicode() without any joy. • hpricot throws exception when trying to parse url which has noscript tag

  I use hpricot gem in ruby on rails to parse a webpage and extract the meta-tag contents. But if the website has a <noscrpit> tag just after the <head> tag it throws an exception Exception: undefined method `[]' for nil:NilClass I even tried to update the gem to the latest version. but still the same. this is the sample code i use. require 'rubygems' require 'hpricot' require 'open-uri' begin index_page = Hpricot(open("http://sample.com")) puts index_page.at("/html/head/meta[@name='verification']")['content'].gsub(/\s/, "") rescue Exception => e puts "Exception: #{e}" end i was thinking to remove the noscript tag before giving the webpage to hpricot. or is there anyother way to do it??

• How do you replace a method of a Moose object at runtime?

  Is it possible to replace a method of a Moose object at runtime ? By looking at the source code of Class::MOP::Method (which Moose::Meta::Method inherits from) I concluded that by doing $method->{body} = sub{ my stuff } I would be able to replace at runtime a method of an object. I can get the method using $object->meta->find_method_by_name(<method_name>); However, this didn't quite work out. Is it conceivable to modify methods at run time? And, what is the way to do it with Moose?
