  I have these two lists (where the Value in a SelectListItem is a bookingid): List<SelectListItem> selectedbookings; List<Booking> availableBookings; I need to find the ids from selectedBookings that are not in availableBookings. The LINQ join below will only get me the bookingids that are in availableBookings, and I'm not sure how to do it the other way around. != won't work since I'm comparing strings. results = ( from s in selectedbookings join a in availableBookings on s.bookingID.ToString() equals a.Value select s);

  Hi, I've generated a pdf using iTextSharp and I can preview it very well in ASP.Net but I need to send it directly to printer without a preview. I want the user to click the print button and automatically the document prints. I know that a page can be sent directly to printer using the javascript window.print() but I don't know how to make it for a PDF. Edit: it is not embedded, I generate it like this; ... However, at runtime in either a window app or console, you'll get true: object t1 = "a"; object t2 = "a"; MessageBox.Show((t1 == t2).ToString()); // outputs true The runtime behavior is consistent with the definition for the == operator and strings.   Hi, I am using the Apache HTTPClient for Java and I'm facing a really strange issue. Sometimes when I try to get a dynamically generated page it returns its actual content, but other times (with another parameter) all I get is a short sequence of \t,\r and \n. How could I track what's going on on the different cases in order to find where is the bug? • How should i be handling string Interning on deserialization?

However when i deserialise the object from the binary formatter I don't think the string will be interned as the constructor should be called. How should I be ensuring the _name string is interned? ... or will it be interned ok?   I want to use Where method in Linq 2 entities that will be equal to this userRepository.Users.Where(u=>u.RoleID == 1 || u=>u.RoldID == 2).Select(o => new SelectListItem { Text = o.Role.RoleName, Value = o.RoleID.ToString() }).ToList(); The problem of course is in Where(u=u.RoleID == 1 || u=u.RoldID == 2) The problem is that I don't know how to use WHERE method with OR inside the WHERE clause. any ideas (the code above will not compile of-course b/c of the lambda expression. userRepository.Users returns an list of Users entities. I guess that and can be done using concatenation of .Where().Where() but I need an OR.

• Javascript large number array compression

  Hi All, I've got a javascript application that sends a large amount of numerical data down the wire. This data is then stored in a database. I am having size issues (too much bandwidth, database getting too big). I am now ready to sacrifice some performance for compression. I was thinking of implementing a base 62 number.toString(62) and parseInt(compressed, 62). This would certainly reduce the size of the data but before I go ahead and do this I thought I would put it to the folks here as I know there must be some outside the box solution I have not considered. The basic specs are: - Compress large number arrays into strings for JSONP transfer (So I think UTF is out) - Be relatively fast, look I'm not expecting same performance as I have now but I also don't want gzip compression either.   I have to store versionName of a template. VersionName is autoincremented.If last versionName is "Version 1.0", next should be "version 2.0". First time when a template is created, I have to store "Version 1.0". I am using VersionName = "Version "+((LatestVersion+1).ToString()) LatestVersion holds the last version which is 0 in case added for first time.   I'm having an issue with the Where clause in a search, in my original version EF4 I could add a Where clause with 2 parameters, the where clause (string predicate) and a ObjectParameter list such as var query = context.entities.Where(WhereClause.ToString(), Params.ToArray()); since my upgrade to EF5 I don't seem to have that option am I missing something? This was originally used to build dynamic where clause such as "it.entity_id = @entity_id" then holding the variable value in the ObjectParameter. I'm hoping I don't have to rewrite all the searches that have been built out this way, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
