  • Custom Logic and Proxy Classes in ADO.NET Data Services

    - by rasx
    I've just read "Injecting Custom Logic in ADO.NET Data Services" and my next question is, How do you get your [WebGet] method to show up in the client-side proxy classes? Sure, I can call this directly (RESTfully) with, say, WebClient but I thought the strong typing features in ADO.NET Data Services would "hide" this from me auto-magically. So here we have: public class MyService : DataService<MyDataSource> { // This method is called only once to initialize service-wide policies. public static void InitializeService(IDataServiceConfiguration config) { config.SetEntitySetAccessRule("Customers", EntitySetRights.AllRead); config.SetServiceOperationAccessRule("CustomersInCity", ServiceOperationRights.All); } [WebGet] public IQueryable<MyDataSource.Customers> CustomersInCity(string city) { return from c in this.CurrentDataSource.Customers where c.City == city select c; } } How can I get CustomersInCity() to show up in my client-side class defintions?

  • Calling AS3 function from html link - Javascript? php? swfaddress?

    - by wdense51
    I have an actionscript function that loads an external swf and is currently linked to a button in the same swf... function btnClick(event:MouseEvent):void{ SoundMixer.stopAll(); removeChild(loader); loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onSWFLoaded); loader.load(movieSWF) loader.x=Xpos loader.y=Ypos addChild(loader) } button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,btnClick); I'm wondering if there is a way to call this function from a link on the page that the swf is housed on. I'm guessing javascript, php or swfaddress would be the most likely way, but I'm unbelievably new to all this so I'm not sure where to start or how to go about it. Any help would be appreciated.

  • 'foreach' failing when using Parallel Task Library

    - by Chris Arnold
    The following code creates the correct number of files, but every file contains the contents of the first list. Can anyone spot what I've done wrong please? private IList<List<string>> GetLists() { // Code omitted for brevity... } private void DoSomethingInParallel() { var lists = GetLists(); var tasks = new List<Task>(); var factory = new TaskFactory(); foreach (var list in lists) { tasks.Add(factory.StartNew(() => { WriteListToLogFile(list); })); } Task.WaitAll(tasks.ToArray()); }

  • castle IOC - resolving circular references

    - by Frederik
    Hi quick question for my MVP implementation: currently I have the code below, in which both the presenter and view are resolved via the container. Then the presenter calls View.Init to pass himself to the view. I was wondering however if there is a way to let the container fix my circular reference (view - presenter, presenter - view). class Presenter : IPresenter { private View _view; public Presenter(IView view, ...){ _view = view; _view.Init(this) } } class View : IView { private IPresenter _presenter; public void Init(IPresenter presenter){ _presenter = presenter; } } Kind regards Frederik

  • Not able to capture Enter key in WinForms text box

    - by Michael Hermes
    When the user is entering a number into a text box, I would like them to be able to press Enter and simulate pressing an Update button elsewhere on the form. I have looked this up several places online, and this seems to be the code I want, but it's not working. When data has been put in the text box and Enter is pressed, all I get is a ding. What am I doing wrong? (Visual Studio 2008) private void tbxMod_KeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.KeyCode == Keys.Enter) { btnMod.PerformClick(); } }

  • How do you tell what object is being touched in touchesBegan?

    - by Flafla2
    I know that this is a very commonly asked question, but all of the answers on every website don't work! If you still don't know what I mean, then maybe this line of code will help you understand. - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:self.view]; if (touch.view == nextbutton) [self performSelector:@selector(next)]; if (touch.view == prevbutton) [self performSelector:@selector(previous)]; if (touch.view == moreoptionsbutton) [self performSelector:@selector(moresettings)]; } It doesn't do anything when you touch nextbutton, prevbutton, and more optionsbutton, which are UIImageViews by the way. I have also tried using isEqual: instead of ==, but that hasn't worked out either. Any suggestions?

  • Why is Java not telling me when I can't use Integer?

    - by Sebi
    For a small project (Problem 10 Project Euler) i tried to sum up all prime numbers below 2 millions. So I used a brute force method and iterated from 0 to 2'000'000 and checked if the number is a prime. If it is I added it to the sum: private int sum = 0; private void calculate() { for (int i = 0; i < 2000000; i++) { if (i.isPrime()) { sum = sum + i; } } sysout(sum) } The result of this calculation is 1179908154, but this is incorrect. So i changed int to BigInteger and now i get the correct sum 142913828922. Obviously the range of int was overflowed. But why can't Java tell my that? (e.g. by an exception)

  • Windows Forms: Enable/Disable WS_CLIPCHILDREN

    - by Agnel Kurian
    How do I turn on/off the WS_CLIPCHILDREN window style in a Windows Forms parent control? I would like to display some text on top of the child control after it has painted. In my parent control, this is what I have: class Parent : public Control { void Parent::OnPaint(PaintEventArgs ^e){ Control::OnPaint(e); // parent draws here // some drawing should happen over the child windows // in other words, do not clip child window regions } }; On checking with Spy++ I find that the parent has the WS_CLIPCHILDREN window style enabled by default. What is the Windows Forms way to turn this off? Note: Sample code is in C++/CLI but I have tagged this C# for visibility... language is immaterial here. Feel free to translate the code to C#.

  • Dictionary with delegate or swith?

    - by Samvel Siradeghyan
    Hi, I am writting a parser, which call some functions dependent on some value. I can implement this logic with simple switch like this swith(some_val) { case 0: func0(); break; case 1: func1(); break; } or with delegates and dictinary like this delegate void some_delegate(); Dictinary some_dictinary = new Dictinary(); some_dictinary[0] = func0; some_dictinary[1] = func1; some_dictinary[some_value].Invoke(); Are this two metods equal and wich is prefered? Thanks.

  • Java program strange behavior, how to fix it ?

    - by Frank
    My notebook has Intel CPU, running Windows Vista. My program looks like this : public class Tool_Lib_Simple { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("123"); } } When I run it, I expect to see : "123", but the output was : "Hi NM : How are you NM ?" which was the old output from two days ago before I changed my program. If I copy this program into another project in Netbean 6.7, it will run correctly and output "123", and if I change the program name from "Tool_Lib_Simple" to something else, it will also output "123", but just not under the name of "Tool_Lib_Simple" in the current project's src directory, I've deleted the "build" directory and did re-compile, re-build, it still gives me "Hi NM : How are you NM ?" as a result, seems to me the old version of my program is saved in the hard drive or ram and got stuck there, I've programmed many years, hardly ever encounter this kind of problem, how to fix this ? • In OpenGL vertex shader, gl_Position doesn't get homogenized..

    - by KJ
    Hi everyone, I was expecting gl_Position to automatically get homogenized (divided by w), but it seems not working.. Why do the followings make different results? 1) void main() { vec4 p; ... omitted ... gl_Position = projectionMatrix * p; } 2) ... same as above ... p = projectionMatrix * p; gl_Position = p / p.w; I think the two are supposed to generate the same results, but it seems it's not the case. 1 doesn't work while 2 is working as expected.. Could it possibly be a precision problem? Am I missing something? This is driving me almost crazy.. helps needed. Many thanks in advance!

  • Resolving HttpRequestScoped Instances outside of a HttpRequest in Autofac

    - by Page Brooks
    Suppose I have a dependency that is registered as HttpRequestScoped so there is only one instance per request. How could I resolve a dependency of the same type outside of an HttpRequest? For example: // Global.asax.cs Registration builder.Register(c => new MyDataContext(connString)).As<IDatabase>().HttpRequestScoped(); _containerProvider = new ContainerProvider(builder.Build()); // This event handler gets fired outside of a request // when a cached item is removed from the cache. public void CacheItemRemoved(string k, object v, CacheItemRemovedReason r) { // I'm trying to resolve like so, but this doesn't work... var dataContext = _containerProvider.ApplicationContainer.Resolve<IDatabase>(); // Do stuff with data context. } The above code throws a DependencyResolutionException when it executes the CacheItemRemoved handler: No scope matching the expression 'value(Autofac.Builder.RegistrationBuilder`3+<c__DisplayClass0[MyApp.Core.Data.MyDataContext,Autofac.Builder.SimpleActivatorData,Autofac.Builder.SingleRegistrationStyle]).lifetimeScopeTag.Equals(scope.Tag)' is visible from the scope in which the instance was requested.

  • MGTwitterEngine - Using getImageAtURL on iPhone

    - by Andrew Malchow
    Essentially, I'm working on asynchronously downloading images and adding them to specific UITableView cells (twitter profile images using MGTwitterEngine from Matt Gemmell). I've looked at general asynchronous download code and must admit, I'm still too much of a noob to understand it well enough to adapt it to my purposes. Instead, I'm attempting to use Gemmell's included getImageAtUrl method to add the images. I have it working to the point that -imageReceived: receives the images for visible cells, however, I'm stuck as to how to include them into the appropriate cells at that point. - (void)imageReceived:(UIImage *)image forRequest:(NSString *)identifier { NSLog(@"Got an image:%@",image); // What goes here? Or elsewhere? } This method is within my main view controller, I also have a custom cell controller where I'm drawing the cell content using Loren Brichter's fast scrolling code. Any help with this MGTwitterEngine method in particular, or with dynamically adding these images to my table cells would be greatly appreciated.

  • #pragma init and #pragma fini using gcc compiler on linux

    - by Josh
    I would like to build some code which calls some code on loadup of the shared library. I thought i would do it like this: #pragma init(my_init) static void my_init () { //do-something } int add (int a,int b) { return a+b; } So when i build that code with gcc -fPIC -g -c -Wall tt.c It returns gcc -fPIC -g -c -Wall tt.c tt.c:2: warning: ignoring #pragma init tt.c:4: warning: ‘my_init’ defined but not used So its warning my #pragmas. I tried this in real code and my code aborted because a function hadn't been called in the pragma section because it was ignored. How do i get gcc to use these #pragma init and fini statemets?

  • C# - Process.Start - Pass html code to exe as argument

    - by dkirk
    Hello, I am using the code below to start a executable file from a windows service and I need to pass html code (stored in a variable) as an argument. I am escaping with double quotes but this is not working. What do I need to do in order to pass this correctly? Thanks in advance for any guidance that is offered. Inside the service: Process.Start(@"E:\Program Files\MyApp.exe", dr["rec"].ToString() + " \"" + subject + "\" \"" + htmlVar); and then within MyApp.exe: static void Main(string[] args) { Program MyProg = new Program(); MyProg.MyMeth(args[0].ToString(), args[1].ToString(), args[2].ToString()); }

  • Insert record in Linq to Sql

    - by Anders Svensson
    Is this the easiest way to insert a record with Linq to Sql when there's a many-to-many relationship, or is there a better/cleaner way? I wasn't sure why things weren't working at first, but when I added a second SubmitChanges() it worked. Why was this necessary? Would be grateful if someone could clarify this a bit! private void InsertNew() { UserPageDBDataContext context = new UserPageDBDataContext(); User user = new User(); ManyToMany.Model.Page page = new ManyToMany.Model.Page(); user.Name = "Madde Andersson"; page.Url = "anderscom/references"; context.Users.InsertOnSubmit(user); context.Pages.InsertOnSubmit(page); context.SubmitChanges(); UserPage userPage = new UserPage(); userPage.UserID = user.UserID; userPage.PageID = page.PageID; user.UserPages.Add(userPage); context.SubmitChanges(); }

  • how to get the http header in asynchronous request mode using ASIHHTTP

    - by user262325
    Hello everyone I hope to display the download file size by reading http header. I know there is way do this: ASIHTTPRequest request = [ASIHTTPRequest requestWithURL:url]; [request startSynchronous]; NSString poweredBy = [[request responseHeaders] objectForKey:@"X-Powered-By"]; NSString *contentType = [[request responseHeaders] objectForKey:@"Content-Type"]; but this is Synchronous mode, in Asynchronous mode it can be done as below: (void)requestFinished:(ASIHTTPRequest *)request { unsigned long long contentLength = [request contentLength]; } but 'requestFinished' is at the end of download. Is there an event to get the http header info at the beginning of download? Thank interdev

  • How do I stop displaying a J2ME MIDP application, just before destroying it?

    - by Paul Marshall
    I have a J2ME application where the user has the option to dial a phone number from within the application. This should be the last thing the user does with the app, so it should stop displaying anything. My current code: public void callAndExit() { // use a platform-specific request to dial MyMidletThingummy.getInstance().platformRequest( "tel:" + number ); notifyDestroyed(); } The call works just fine, uses the phone's native way of calling, etc. The problem is that, just after the call completes (whenever the user hangs up), my application displays for a split second before being destroyed. Is there something I can do so that I stop displaying the MIDlet (and, say, show the phone's home screen or whatever else it would rather display), then dial out?

  • How do I Resolve dependancies that rely on transient context data using castle windsor?

    - by Dan Ryan
    I have a WCF service application that uses a component called EnvironmentConfiguration that holds configuration information for my application. I am converting this service so that it can be used by different applications that have different configuration requirements. I want to identify the configuration to use by allowing an additional parameter to be passed to the service call i.e. public void DoSomething(string originalParameter, string callingApplication) What is the recommended way to alter the behaviour of the EnvironmentConfiguration class based on the transient data (callingApplication) without having to pass the callingApplication variable to all the component methods that need configuration information?

  • java: how to compress data into a String and uncompress data from the String

    - by Guillaume
    I want to put some compressed data into a remote repository. To put data on this repository I can only use a method that take the name of the resource and its content as a String. (like data.txt + "hello world"). The repository is moking a filesystem but is not, so I can not use File directly. I want to be able to do the following: client send to server a file 'data.txt' server compress 'data.txt' into data.zip server send to repository content of data.zip repository store data.zip client download from repository data.zip and his able to open it with its favorite zip tool I have tried a lots of compressing example found on the web but each time a send the data to the repository, my resulting zip file is corrupted. Here is a sample class, using the zip*stream and that emulate the repository showcasing my problem. The created zip file is working, but after its 'serialization' it's get corrupted.
