  • Check if NSURL is Local File

    - by golfromeo
This is a pretty simple question- how can I check if a NSURL is linking to a local file? I know, RTFM, but I checked the documentation and I don't seem to see any methods related to this. The only methods I did find were -isFileReferenceURL and -isFileURL, but I think these only check if the URL directly links to a file. note: I'm making an iPhone app, so by "local file" I mean a .html file stored in the project's resources. Thanks for any help in advance.

  • Reporting services and custom library

    - by niao
Greetings, In my Reporting Services report I've added reference to my custom library. It works fine. I can display the string which is returned from my custom library method as follows: =ClassLibrary1.MyClass.Parse("harry potter") Above code works fine - it should return SQL query based on passed parameters. My question is, how can I use this code in my DataSource. I'm trying to do something like this: SELECT * FROM =ClassLibrary1.MyClass.Parse(@searchedPhrase) But the above code does not work and the error is returned :"Incorrect syntax near ="

  • Eclipse does not format this if statement correctly

    - by Maroloccio
This should be easy to answer: I have Eclipse set to wrap Java code over 80 chars to respect my margin. This code never wraps: if (expressionItem.type.isTypeCompatibleWith(containingNameLink.type) == false) { reportParsingError("expression type incompatible with containing " + "context."); } Question: how do I set my code formatter preferences so that the margin is respected?

  • USSD Retrieve IMEI Number

    - by Gustavo De Micheli
Hello, I'm very new at USSD developing. I have a question: Can I retrieve the IMEI number of a MS(Mobile Station) via an USSD PUSH Application? • Javascript objects: get parent

    - by Dänu
Hey Guys I got some question about nested javascript objects (is it me, google or is javascript quite poorly documented?). Now, I got the following (nested) object: obj: { subObj: { 'hello world' } }; next thing I do is to reference the subobject like this: var s = obj.subObj; now what I would like to do, is to get a reference to the object obj out of the variable s. Something like: var o = s.parent; Is this somehow possible?

  • Why use infinite loops?

    - by Moishe
Another poster asked about preferred syntax for infinite loops. A follow-up question: Why do you use infinite loops in your code? I typically see a construct like this: for (;;) { int scoped_variable = getSomeValue(); if (scoped_variable == some_value) { break; } } Which lets you get around not being able to see the value of scoped_variable in the for or while clause. What are some other uses for "infinite" loops?

  • Is there any way to delete an HttpOnly cookie from C# Selenium tests?

    - by BenA
I have a set of C# Selenium tests that need to delete a cookie that has the HttpOnly flag set. Unfortunately the DefaultSelenium.GetCookie() and DefaultSelenium.DeleteCookie() commands aren't able to access the cookie, because it has that HttpOnly flag set. I've confirmed this by removing the flag by hand, and checking that subsequent calls to either of those methods are then happily able to manipulate the cookie in question. Is there any other way to do this via the Selenium .NET client driver? All ideas welcome!

  • Is pdf virus proof? [closed]

    - by Jonathan
I am creating a secure document portal for a client. One of the things that they are worried about is having someone upload a document with a virus. One solution that might work is to enforce that they only upload pdf files. My question is two fold: Most importantly, is a pdf document virus proof? How can you determine in a *nix environment that a file is a pdf, besides just looking at the extension. Thanks! Jonathan

    - by Saif Khan
Hi, I have an ASP.NET project where I want to keep the membership (SQL Provider) in a separate database and the Roles/Profiles will be per application. Question What is the KEY that relates between the Membership database and the Roles/Profile database? Is it the UserID or UserName? I opened up the tables in separate expolrer and notice the UserID is different in the Membership database from that in the application Roles database.

Since getting a satisfactory answer on SuperUser is very difficult, I want to rephrase this question and ask: Is there any way to programatically detect a mouse was plugged in the usb port, and change the cursor speed in windows (perhaps through an API)? I'd like to use C#, but I'm open to any language that can run on a windows 7 machine.

    - by Honza
Asking this question again with smaller code sample: # this is a dummy shoulda macro that creates a context def self.macro_context context "macro" do yield end end # i am expecting this test to fail within the macro context context "some context" do macro_context do should "test" do fail end end end So what I would expect is to see: 1) Error: test: some context macro context should test. (TestClassName) But I am getting only this: So what I would expect is to see: 1) Error: test: some context should test. (TestClassName) Any idea what am I doing wrong?

  • How many copies of files are needed by video server?

    - by Trilok
A quick question. How many copies of the same movie are kept in a video server (a video streaming server)? Suppose a particular video is at max requested by 1000 users at the same instant of time, how many copies would be sufficient so that parallel streams can be provided to each user? Ideally 1 copy would solve the purpose, but what is the optimum number keeping the bandwidth and simultaneous access in mind?

  • long vs. short branches in version control

    - by Vincenzo
I wonder whether anyone knows some research done with the question "What is good/bad in long/short branches in version control?" I'm specifically interested in academic researches performed in this field. My questions are: What problems (or conflicts) long branches may produce and how to deal with them How to split a big task onto smaller branches/sub-tasks How to coordinate the changes in multiple short branches, related to the same code Thanks in advance for links and suggestions!
