As every haXe developer knows, you could use haxe.Timer.delayed() to delay function call for some time. But this function doesn't exist for neko at all. Is there a way to achieve the same results?

Thanks all.
This question may not directly relate to programming. I have noticed that the technology of today has gone mobile. I want to go mobile with it. What is the most popular mobile OS?(excluding iPhone OS. Sorry, I don't have a Mac to develop on) Some choices could be BlackBerry OS, Windows Phone, Symbian OS, Android OS, etc. I want to make and sell applications for a mobile OS.
Is it possible to connect to a SQL Server Express 2008 database in ASP.NET with a server name of (local) like "server=(local);integrated security=SSPI;database=DBNAME"?
I'm working with another developer on a project and it's getting annoying having to have 2 different version of web.config because he is using SQL Server 2008 and (local) works, but I can't seem to get it to work with SQL Server 2008 Express locally.
The database is located on the same computer as the .NET code in case that matters.
Thanks.
My Boss have given me assignment to find how a web based application developed in dot net can be protected. As per agreement products developed in our company are asset of company and even not developers can gave the code. But still he wants to know how he can protect products in case a developer theft code and try to launch it from his home ?
Please guide how this can be controlled.
App freezes, and the device freezes sometime during launching or closing. This happens especially to the app developed and installed using Xcode. Can anyone explain what's going on, if it's iOS 4 Gold Beta specific issue, or a generic task must be handled by a developer?
Hi All,
Can mapkit framework provided in iphone be used to create an enterprise application, without violating Google privacy and terms. As I am creating enterprise application using enterprise certificate (http://developer.apple.com/programs/iphone/enterprise/) form apple, wanted to know weather I can use makkit framework in my application application for distribution within the enterprise and on itunes app store.
Please let me know if there is any additional legal agreement/certificates involved.
Thanking you in advance.

Hi,
I have a Microsoft LifeCam HD-5000 webcams. According to AMCap, the camera outputs a MJPEG stream at 30fps at 720p. I want to capture each JPEG frame in a small application without doing any preview or decompression/transcoding to minimize CPU utilization to the minimum possible.
I'm a C# developer, but I'm new to DirectShow. Is there a simple way to capture the MJPEG stream frame by frame as its output from the camera in C#/.NET without decompressing it?
Hello,
my certificate has just expired.
I renewed it on Team section, then renew provisioning profile, and reinstall them on my keychain and xcode, and then I get this error :
Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer' doesn't match any valid certificate/private key pair in the login keychain
What should I do ?
Thanks a lot
Thierry
Hey everyone,
We work extensively in the .Net Compact Framework and Windows Mobile. I've seen plenty of questions come up regarding specifics to development of ASP.Net apps or other .Net based desktop apps but nothing CF specific.
Anyone else a mobile developer out there that can share some things to start doing, stop doing, and avoid doing when developing in the Compact Framework?
I'm looking for a very private source control/hosting solution. Short of hosting my own, and seeing as I'm the only collaborator, what is a good service for this?
I'm using Git. The most important aspect is privacy. I don't want anyone to see my code, I'm simply using it for source control/backup. I will be the only developer.
I am wondering if you can officially receive SMS messages in your app (and remove the default SMS app). I believe it can be done on Android, I just wonder if this is possible on iPhone OS.
I have came from another question to this one:
How can one start with Java (JVM) ecosystem? What are beginner, intermediate and advanced knowledge-bases (bags!)? To be honest Java ecosystem was always a bit confusing to me, so it would be very helpful to provide some "reference references" and "defacto tutorials" for learning (curve!) JVM.
I am a C# developer (WPF, Windows Forms, ASP.NET, Web Services, ... like that).
Hi All,
I have some commercial programming experience although it was not my primary role (C# and Java), SCJP 6 cert, some SQL experience and have been doing a lot of Android programming (I have one app with 36,000 downloads). I have a degree in Chemistry and a Diploma in Programming (half a degree made up of 2nd/3rd year uni courses).
I'm trying to get my first entry level programmer job but am finding it tough out there.......How did other people get there first jobs in programming?
I'm trying to understand what exactly the above (in my question's Title) means? This is taken directly from the SpreeCommerce.com project:
If you’re an experienced Rails developer you may be wondering where your app directory is. Spree actually runs as an embedded Rails app inside of your gem. How do you customize things then? We’ll cover that later in extensions.
Source: http://spreecommerce.com/documentation/getting_started.html
Can someone further explain what exactly it means when a Rails app is run "inside of your gem"
Hello,
I'm trying to make a Terminal Unix command with XCode, and I'm having a little trouble...
What I've been doing is creating a "Standard Tool" written in C in XCode, then copying the produced executable to Developer/Tools/.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any help in advance.
HI,
I want to have set configuration settings for a unit test project that is only relative for one machine ( i.e build machine). So for e.g. is the unit test project is being compiled on a developer machine then use settings A from App.config, if it's compiled on a build machine then use settings B from App.config. Is there a best practice for this sort of things?
It is possible to develop native applications and load application onto iphone/ipod devices before paying a Apple Developer Connection membership fee?If anybody knows please give me some idea about that.
I want to insert an attribute in every xml node. As xml is changed every time some developer do a change so I want to retrieve xml node path dynamically first and then insert the attribute in it. Any idea how can I have a dynamic path of an xml instead of passing a absolute path.
Quoted from this answer:
Cost of tools: JavaME would be
cheapest, followed by Symbian, Android
then iPhone.
I want to get started with mobile phone programing, but I don't see where Symbian does cost, as its SDK is available for free.
Anyone knows?
BTW,many people say Symbian only supports Symbian C++, but after reading its document, it seems it also support Java, is this feature newly added?
I can browse using the desktop browsers via ..localhost:54647/... and from windows mobile emulators via my gateway ..//192.168.0.199:54647/..., but neither method works from either my Android emulator or from a usb attached itouch. I know I may have to run IIS locally but it's more convenient to run the development server from Visual Studio 2008.
I'm running Vista with latest service packs.
I'm developing a mobile app using ASP.Net MVC.
Thanks!
I am simply wondering whether it is best to put all of my Eclipse projects into one workspace, or do a 1 workspace per 1 project. I am just a solo developer, for hobby more or less, but the apps I create do actually have production versions that are running on rather frequent cron jobs, so its almost like an amateur production environment.
The only problems I have noticed so far is for exporting JARs, I have the potential to include source files from other projects which seems like it could get messy (maybe?).
I installed Xcode a long time ago.
Apparently I didn't check back then the "UNIX Developemtn Support" checkbox.
Now I want to have them bu when I click on the installation this is what appears:
The UNIX Development Support check box is disabled
Q. ¿How can I install the UNIX Development Support? Is there a way to run some script that creates all the needed links from /Developer/ to /usr/bin ?
Thanks in advance.
