  • Using an XML Catalog with a Java library that uses JAXP internally

    - by Brian Ferris
I'm using the Apache web service xml rpc library to make requests to an rpc service. Somewhere in that process is a xml document with a DTD reference to http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd, which the library attempts to download when parsing the XML. That download fails with a 503 status code because the w3c is blocking repeated downloads of this largely static document from Java clients. The solution is XML Catalogs to locally cache the DTD. However, while I can find examples of setting an EntityHandler on a JAXP SAXParser instance directly to enable catalog parser support, I don't actually have access to the underlying parser here. It's just being used by the xml rpc library. Is there any way I can set a global property or something that will tell JAXP to use XML catalogs?

  • How do I tweet, using the DotNetOpenAuth library?

    - by MedicineMan
I just downloaded the DotNetOpenAuth library and ran the AuthConsumer demo. It is an excellent library so far! Everything worked as advertised, which has not been my experience with a lot of Facebook and Twitter sample code that I have been working with recently. What I am trying to figure out is: How do I tweet using this library? I am currently planning to implement this in ASP MVC, but my initial thoughts is that the presentation platform doesn't matter all that much at the level I'm looking at.

  • Eclipse and python: library will import in interprer, but not in IDE

    - by John
I'm running Windows 7, Python 2.6.4 and the latest version of Eclipse. I downloaded the boto library (http://code.google.com/p/boto/) and ran python setup.py install, which created boto-1.9b-py2.6.egg in C:\Python26\Lib\site-packages. Importing a class - say, by doing 'from boto.sqs.connection import SQSConnection' - works fine from the python command line tool. But Eclipse will not find boto, despite the fact that it is using the same python interpreter as I am using when at the command line. I added the library as an external source folder, but that didn't work either. How can I properly import the boto library into Eclipse? Thanks.

  • Any Java library for address extraction from emails?

    - by Hans Klock
I'm looking for an Java open-source library which is able to extract address information from a (German) email (signature). The library should find name street city, city code/postal code email tel/fax address-parser.com is an commercial product, but a free (albeit simple) library would be great. stackoverflow.com/questions/16413/parse-usable-street-address-city-state-zip-from-a-string is asking for something similar, but my problem is broader because the address information is hidden in a complete email. And there isn't a solution either... Any ideas?

  • OS X contains heapsort in stdlib.h which conflicts with heapsort in sort library

    - by CryptoQuick
I'm using Ariel Faigon's sort library, found here: http://www.yendor.com/programming/sort/ I was able to get all my code working on Linux, but unfortunately, when trying to compile with GCC on Mac, its default stdlib.h contains another heapsort, which unfortunately results in a conflicting types error. Here's the man page for Apple heapsort: http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man3/heapsort.3.html Commenting out the heapsort in the sort library header causes a whole heap of problems. (pardon the pun) I also briefly thought of commenting out my use of stdlib.h, but I use malloc and realloc, so that won't work at all. Any ideas?

  • C++ library for generating a SOAP message using WSDL

    - by Harsha Reddy
Hi guys, Do you know of any C++ libraries can can generate SOAP messages using the WSDL. I am writing a C++ client application and am looking for such a library. I however cannot use gSoap and wsdlpull. SOAP Client library (SQLData Systems) looks like another library which could help me (though I am not too sure) but its results page shows an error while dealing with Apache Axis and I might have to use that. Are there any other libraries? Thanks for the help. Regards, Harsha

  • OpenIDenabled PHP library with Google Openid

    - by siddhant3s
I am using JanRain OpenID Library PHP. I am trying out the consumer example in /example/consumer. Services like Google (or Yahoo) are not working, while other's like myopenid.com, blogger are working. My PHPinfo says that cURL and OpenSSL is enabled. Note that I also tried using LightOpenID Library (gitorious.org/lightopenid) which works with Google. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on server with php safe_mode On, it requires cURL. So I cannot use on all servers. JanRain's Library works on the server but not with Google.

  • .NET Library to Identify Pitches

    - by Antoni
I'd like to write a simple program(preferably in C#) to which I sing a pitch using a mic and the program identifies to which musical note that pitch corresponds. Thank you very much for your prompt responses. I clarify: I'd like a (preferably .NET) library that would identify the notes I sing. I'd like that such a library: Identifies a note when I sing(a note from the chromatic scale). Tells me how much I'm off from the closest note. I intend to use such a library to sing one note a time.

  • Problem with starting OpenOffice service (soffice) from Java (command working in commandline, but no

    - by Shervin
I want to exceute a simple command which works from the shell but doesn't work from Java. This is the command I want to execute, which works fine: soffice -headless "-accept=socket,host=localhost,port=8100;urp;" This is the code I am excecuting from Java trying to run this command: String[] commands = new String[] {"soffice","-headless","\"-accept=socket,host=localhost,port=8100;urp;\""}; Process process = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(commands) int code = process.waitFor(); if(code == 0) System.out.println("Commands executed successfully"); When I run this program I get "Commands executed successfully". However the process is not running when the program finishes. Is it possible that the JVM kills the program after it has run? Why doesn't this work?

  • C# Changing class method at run-time

    - by Flavio
Hi, I need to extend the behavior of an instance, but I don't have access to the original source code of that instance. For example: /* I don't have the source code for this class, only the runtime instance */ Class AB { public void execute(); } in my code I would to intercept every call to execute, compute some sutff and then call the original execute, something like /* This is how I would like to modify the method invokation */ SomeType m_OrgExecute; { AB a = new AB(); m_OrgExecute = GetByReflection( a.execute ); a.execute = MyExecute; } void MyExecute() { System.Console.Writeln( "In MyExecute" ); m_OrgExecute(); } Is that possible? Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

  • Choosing a plotting library for web/browser application

    - by Goro
Hello, I am looking for a plotting/graphing library (mostly to do line plots) for my application. I have been looking at JavaScript APIs (like Google's) but I found them to be slowing down things at client side (I am plotting a quite large number of points). I also found that with client-side libraries, the performance was quite varied depending on the user's computer. With moving to a server-side library I would cut down on this variance, and would have more control over data flow (my data is in a MySQL database). I have then looked at some PHP-based plotting libraries, but a lot of them seem to be "forgotten" (no new version for years). I have been eying pChart, but it has not had an update in almost two years. First, what would you recommend: server-side or client-side approach? Second, what library would you recommend. Paid libraries are definitely an option, as I don't mind paying for quality software that would cut down on my development time. Thanks,

  • Retrieving/simulating run-time "layer" functionality in Flash under ActionScript 3.

    - by Triynko
Are there any AS3 classes to help arrange objects into layers, like in the designer, such that the objects all have the same parent? Obviously, I can use container clips to simulate layers, but I specifically want this kind of functionality for objects that have the same parent. My understanding is that the design-time notion of layers does not exist at run-time, and objects just have a depth index. I'm creating a class to simulate layering functionality with a single parent, but if one already exists, I'd like to check it out. On a side note... how do design-time layer masks manifest themselves at runtime in AS3? I thought maybe all objects on the masked layer share the same mask object, but the "mask" property appears to be null for all objects on the masked layer, even though they share the same parent timeline as the unmasked objects (i.e. unmasked layer object parent == masked layer object parent; therefore, no masked subcontainers appear to be in use).

  • Template and Themes in WPF through Custom Xaml Files

    - by AKRamkumar
I have an application where I give my user Widgets. Suppose my user wants to customize the layout of the widgets. For example, I have a clock that is green. In Xaml, to add an animation around the clock would be easy. How could i make it such that at runtime, my application reads a layout.xaml file. Loads it and parses all the gradients and xaml. But still be able to use my widget in there. EG <Layout> <Grid> <!-- Grid Definitions or Animations or Whatever--> <Clock/> <!-- They need to be able to simply use this and my applications needs to read this--> </Grid> </Layout>

  • Speed up the loop operation in R

    - by Kay
    Hi, i have a big performance problem in R. I wrote a function that iterates over an data.frame object. It simply adds a new col to a data.frame and accumulate sth. (simple operation). The data.frame has round about 850.000 rows. My PC is still working about 10h now and i have no idea about the runtime. dayloop2 <- function(temp){ for (i in 1:nrow(temp)){ temp[i,10] <- i if (i > 1) { if ((temp[i,6] == temp[i-1,6]) & (temp[i,3] == temp[i-1,3])) { temp[i,10] <- temp[i,9] + temp[i-1,10] } else { temp[i,10] <- temp[i,9] } } else { temp[i,10] <- temp[i,9] } } names(temp)[names(temp) == "V10"] <- "Kumm." return(temp) } Any ideas how to speed up this operation ?

  • Getting progress status out of a class library method

    - by Richard
This app that I am doing uses a class library (if I dare call it that) to do the bulk of the work: 2 main methods in there (DoWork and UndoWork) use the other classes to achieve thier goal. Now that that works, I want to get out of the Console test enviroment and do a GUI. How would I get the status of say, the DoWork() method to update a progress bar? Should I multilate the class library (which currently works with the Console and Windows.Forms) to update? The problem with that is that I would surely have to make the class library use Window.Forms which will mess up the console testing apps (And there are lots of them - I tested all the way through, and then all together). Could you suggest some ideas, or places I can read up about ideas (the whole point of writing this this program is to learn, afer all)? Oh, by the way, suggestions like "foresight" or "planning" probably won't help here...(now, anywyay!) - But certainly will in future projects!

  • C / JSON Library in popular Linux distros?

    - by Tim Post
I have a program written in C that has to input and output JSON over a local domain socket. I've found several C / JSON libraries that 'almost work' through searches. Prior to taking one of the libraries that I found .. I want to be sure that I'm not over-looking a library that is commonly found on modern Linux distros. I'd also really appreciate links to libraries that you use. Most likely, I'll just drop it in tree, unless I realize that I've over looked something widely distributed. I am tagging this as subjective because the answer that I select is the one linking to a library that works for me, that does not mean its the 'best' library. I want to take an existing array and easily convert it to a buffer that can be sent, or take a buffer and easily convert it into an allocated array. Thanks in advance!

  • Why does my program crash after running this particular function?

Thanks in advance, Johnny void showInventory(player& obj) { // By Johnny :D std::cout << "\nINVENTORY:\n"; for(int i = 0; i < 20; i++) { std::cout << obj.getItem(i); i++; std::cout << "\t\t\t" << obj.getItem(i) << "\n"; i++; } } std::string getItem(int i) { return inventory[i]; }

  • Creating/compling .net data class within an application

    - by MrTelly
Is there a pattern, Xml structure, architecture technique we can use to create simple data holder class code that we can deserialise to/from and do that at runtime? We're in the early design stage of a .Net project and one of our goals is to make the resulting system extensible through configuration without needing a developer. We need to support new sources of data, typcially delivered as Xml messages. Currently we convert/deserialise the messages into simple classes and then use an already existing language which can manipulate those classes as we need. That works well when you have a developer to map the Xml to simple class, create the class and then write the deserialisation, but it's not extensible for for an administrator. Our target user audience is high end DBA and/or network admin - people who can handle Xml but may not know C#.

  • NetBeans Platform Unit Test Library Dependencies

    - by Ben Hammond
I am working on a Netbeans Platform RCP application. I use jmock in my unit tests and I have created a Library Wrapper Module to import the necessary libraries. The Module has an section named 'Libraries' and another section named 'Unit Test Libraries'. I hoped that I could add the JMock Library Wrapper to the 'Unit Test Libraries', however when I run the unit tests I get the error 'package org.jmock does not exist'. If I import the JMock Library Wrapper in to the main 'Libraries' element then it works, but this feels wrong. Maven allows me to specify unit-test only dependencies, and I assumed that NetBeans Platform did the same. Should this be possible? Am I doing something wrong? Should I resign myself to a run-time dependency on the unit-test libraries (ugh).

  • Programatically Add a AnnotationSessionFactoryBean

    - by user146714
    Hi, I have a class that implements BeanDefinitionRegistryPostProcessor. I am trying to add an AnnotationSessionFactoryBean to my Spring Context in either postProcessBeanFactory or postProcessBeanDefinitionRegistry. I need to do this programatically so that I can configure the object at runtime. I am trying to do: @Override public void postProcessBeanDefinitionRegistry(BeanDefinitionRegistry bdr) throws BeansException { RootBeanDefinition bd = new RootBeanDefinition( AnnotationSessionFactoryBean.class); // fails here.. can not cast AnnotationSessionFactoryBean asfb = (AnnotationSessionFactoryBean)bd; bdr.registerBeanDefinition("sessionFactory", asfb); thanks for your help --updated with solution: had to do a: GenericBeanDefinition bd = new GenericBeanDefinition(); bd.setBeanClass(AnnotationSessionFactoryBean.class); bd.getPropertyValues().add("dataSource", dataSource); bdr.registerBeanDefinition("sessionFactory", bd);

  • Video encoding by servlet with MEncoder

    - by Andrey
Hello. I was developing an application for video encoding on the server and got a problem with encoding video with MEncoder. This decoder doesn't work correctly when runned by a command line with Runtime.getRuntime().exec(“D:\mencoder\mnc\mencoder.exe video1.avi -o outvideo1.flv -of lavf -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=64 -srate 22050 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=flv:vbitrate=300:mbd=2:mv0:trell:v4mv:cbp:last_pred=3 -vf scale=320:240,harddup -quiet”) ; The decoder launches and works in windows console with my parameters, but when it's run from a servlet it just hangs in process list and doesn't do anything before the web-server is stopped. When trying to use decoder from a simple java applcation, it runs correctly. Thanks for help.
