  • Creating a 64bit build in Visual studio

    I have an old .net 2.0 windows app I need to deploy on a windows 7 machine and its not going too well. I want to build a native 64 bit version rather than a 32bit capable of running on a 64bit environment. I'm working with Visual studio 2005 My question is what settings do I need to set within each project of my solution, (both the windows app + my dll's that it references) and what settings i should set on my install project (I have a deployment project for distribution)

    xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { So this says onreadystatechange, invoke function(). Can I put parameters in function()? Second question, what does it mean when someone writes, xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=statechanged? Does that mean it will always be true or something?

  • DB2 SQL count in join or where clause

The Officer table doesn't give me the number of officers per account. I need to retrieve only the accounts that have more than 20 officers. Should I use the COUNT ? If so, how ?   • Use a subclass object to modify a protected propety within its superclass object

    Sorry for the crappy title I failed to think of a better version for my Java question. I am right now using Java version: 1.6.0_18 and Netbeans version: 6.8 Now for the question. What I've done is created a class with only one protected int property and next I made a public method to Set the int property to a given value. Then I made an object of that class and used said public method to set the int property to 5. Now I need your help to create another class that will take said object and expose it's protected int property. The way I could think of doing this was to create a sub class to inherit said class and then create a method to Get the int property of the super class. I kind of succeeded to create the code to Get the int property but now I can't figure out how to use this new sub class to reference the object of the super class. Here are the 2 classes I have thus far: public class A { protected int iNumber; public void setNumber ( int aNumber ) { iNumber = aNumber; } } public class B extends A { public int getNumber() { return super.iNumber; } } I created an object of 'A' and used its method to set its property to 5, like this: A objA = new A(); objA.setNumber ( 5 ); Now I want to create an object of 'B' to output the int stored within the property of 'objA'. I've tried to run this code: B objB = (B) objA; String aNumber_String = String.valueOf( objB.getNumber() ); System.out.println( aNumber_String ); but I got the error: "java.lang.ClassCastException" on the first line B objB = (B) objA; Please is there anyway of doing what I am trying to do? P.S. I am hoping to make this idea work because I do not want to edit class A (unless I have no choice) by giving it a getter method. P.P.S Also I know it's a 'bad' idea to expose the property instead of making it private and use public setter / getter methods but I like it this way :). Edit: Added code tags

  • PySVN: is property status "none" equivalent to unchanged?

    I know the practical difference between a PySVN property status of "normal" (has properties, not changed locally) and "none" (has no properties). My question is this: is it ever possible for there to be local modifications to an items properites, and have PySVN report the property status as "none"? I would say no, but maybe there's some corner case I'm missing.

  • How to shorthand array declaration in a method call?

    Hi all, This is hopefully a softball syntax question: I need to call a method with an empty Object array for evaluation and set initial state. In C# I would just do this: func(new Object[]{}); In VB.NET I am forced to do this: Dim ctrls() As Control = {} func(ctrls) Is there a way to shorthand the call in VB.NET and have everything happen in one line of code? P.S. VB-bashing will earn bonus points. ;-)

    I receive Date and time from CSV file The received Date format is YYYMMDD (string) (there is no ":" ,"-","/" to separate Year month and date). The received time format is HH:MM (24 Hour clock). I have to validate both so that (example) (i) 000011990 could be invalidated for date (ii) 77:90 could be invalidated for time. The question is , Regular expression is the right candidate for do so (or) is there any other way to achieve it?

  • Is there a compelling reason to use quantifiers in Perl regular expressions instead of just repeatin

    I was performing a code review for a colleague and he had a regular expression that looked like this: if ($value =~ /^\d\d\d\d$/) { #do stuff } I told him he should change it to: if ($value =~ /^\d{4}$/) { #do stuff } To which he replied that he preferred the first for readability (I find the second more readable, but that's a religious debate I'll save for another day). My question: is there an actual benefit to one over the other?

    Hi In some of my own older code, I use the following: Object.prototype.instanceOf = function( iface ) { return iface.prototype.isPrototypeOf( this ); }; Then I do (for example) [].instanceOf( Array ) This works, but it seems the following would do the same: [] instanceof Array Now, surly this is only a very simple example.     Hi, I need to change the code of some asp.net application but the application is missing its .cs files, there are only .aspx files. As I read in google, I understand that the application is a precompiled website. I am not too familiar with it so the question is, can I somehow retrieve the code-behind .cs files of this application because I need to change some functions there.     Hi, I have a table with custom cells, that I built in IB. When entering editing mode, content of all cells is moved to show delete edit control. My question is where can I adjust the cell appearance before entering editing mode? I saw that willBeginEditingRowAtIndexPath function is supposed to let adjust the UI, but seems I don't get there at all. Please help, TIA
