• What is the correct way to bootstrap Drupal with Kohana 3?

  Hi, I am trying to implement single sign on between an existing Drupal site a Kohana 3 based webapp. Ideally I would like to load Drupal's session information into $GLOBALS using the bootstap: require_once('../includes/bootstrap.inc'); drupal_bootstrap(DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_SESSION); A post on the Kohana forum suggested that this should be placed in Kohana's index.php, but didn't say where. I've tried right at the start, and just before Kohana's own bootstrap, but both result in a White Screen of Death. Changing the bootstrap level to DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_CONFIGURATION works, but the session data isn't loaded. Any bootstrap level above DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_ACCESS results in a WSOD. If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it!

But these functions can only check if one point is inside a poly. I have a query where the PiP part should only be one part of the query and check for x points inside a polygon. • Error Exception 2048 on my website using OpenClassifieds software

  I have a website called e-waitress.net, it is a jobs employment website for the restaurant industry. I installed an open source program called OpenClassifieds and a couple days after installing the OpenClassifieds, I get an error message when I enter my url that is this: ErrorException [ 2048 ]: date_default_timezone_get(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are required to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/New_York' for 'EDT/-4.0/DST' instead ~ APPPATH/ko322/classes/kohana/date.php [ 592 ] I am wondering is this a server issue with my host provider or is it within the OpenClassifieds installation software? I've reinstalled the software twice and it's returned this error after a couple days of working great. Any ideas?

  I've set up a contact form in the Greet Us page in http://swedsb.com When I submit the form, it says mail sent successfully. But I'm not getting the mail, checked the spam folder. I've set a similar form at http://ibsolutions.in. It is working perfectly. Been breaking my head for the past 4 hours. • help with installing clamav for remote apache server vs WAMP localserver

  Hey guys, I have never installed an extension before so I am not really sure where to start. I want to do 2 things: install clamav virus scanner http://sourceforge.net/projects/php-clamav/ on my remote server which is a linux apache setup using cpanel as a gui. install clamav on my localserver on my home computer which operates on windows and has WAMP server installed for server-side activity What is the difference between the two installation methods? What is required for each installation? If anyone can point me in the right direction in any way, I would really appreciate it. Even if it is just an article or tutorial on how to get started.

Employees should ofcourse only be able to see their own schedules, but the manager should have the privilege to access every schedule.   hey guys i have a tag table in my php/mysql project that looks like this Table name : bt_tags Table fileds : tid,tag and for every story rows there is a filed named : tags Table name: stories table filed : tags that saved in this field as ids 1 5 6 space between them now problem : when using while loop to fetch all fields in story table , the page uses 1 query to show every stories' detail but for showing tag's names , i should query another table to find names , we have ids stored in story table now i used for loop between while loop to show tag names but im sure there is a better way to decrease page queries how can i improve this script and show tag's names without using *for loop ?* $result = $db->sql_query("SELECT * FROM ".STORY_TABLE." • Mysql query help needed

  Hi, i have two tables category and hotels where category.id should be equal to hotels.catid. Now how do i select 3 rows from each different category from the hotels table. I have this query: select h.* from hotels h inner join category c on h.catid = c.id order by h.catid, h.hid this selects all records, but i want to select three rows per different category so in all it should return 9 rows with 3 rows for each category. If this can not be done in mysql, you could also suggest php code please. Thanks

• Using strtotime for dates before 1970

  I have a text column in mysql and it stores a date value in the format yyyy-mm-dd. Now, in my php page, I use this code to parse into a date value. date("F j, Y", strtotime($row['value'])); Now, I just read that strtotime() parses values only after January 1, 1970. I have lot of date values before that date. Is there a work around? I don't want to change my database structure.

• Sending passwords over the web

  So I'm working on a mobile platform application that I'd like to have users authenticate over the web. I was wondering the best way to do security. The user is sending a password for HTTP to a php server wich authenticates against a mysql database on the same server. Obviously I don't want to send the password in plain text over the internet, but I also don't want to do 2 SHA hashes. This is what the server looks like (in pseudocode) $pass = $_POST['pass']; if ((get PASSWORD where USERNAME = USERNAME) == SHA($pass)) return PASS; This is pretty standard and I don't think there's any other way to do this. But I was wondering how I should prepare the data before sending it over the internet.

• Get Category in Wordpress Post

  OK I have a standard post here: http://www.ticketyoda.co.uk/concerts/rihanna-tickets/rihanna-tickets-manchester-2013-06-12-united-kingdom/970 I am trying to make each post unique and contain the category information for both the city (Manchester) and the Artist (Rihanna). At the moment the box underneath the venue contains the information taken from the category (see breadcrumb). So I have 1 out of 2. What I need now is for an extra box below to show the category information for the Artist. I use : <?php $category = get_the_category(); echo $category[0]->category_description; ?> to get the first category. • How to do MVC form url formatting?

  I am using PHP. I want to create an MVC setup from scratch to learn more about how MVC works. I want to use clean urls with slashes as delimiters for the arguments. How do people do this when it comes to GET method forms? Or do people avoid GET method forms all together? As of right now the ways I can imagine are: Don't use GET method forms (although this makes it harder to let users bookmark/link in some cases). Use AJAX instead of form submission (although what do you do for SEO and JS disablers?). Have page submit to itself with post method, then reform the post vars into an url, then rerout to that url using headers (seems like wasted resources). Any suggestions or suggested reading welcome.

• messages stuck permanently in session

  I am getting Drupal messages stuck permanently in session, so that after being displayed they are not cleared. The unsetting code in function drupal_get_messages in bootstrap.inc is firing - It's as if the session is sleeping (i.e. serializing to disk) before the messages array is cleared. Have you witnessed such a thing? UPDATE The call that commits the session starts from drupal_page_footer at the bottom of index.php - for some reason this is executing twice per request! once with the emptied messages and then again with the messages back in the array.

• [WordPress] Need help with remove_action()

  I'm trying to remove the unsightly embedded <STYLE> tag the built-in Recent Comments widget puts in my <HEAD>, but I can't seem to get the syntax right. It originally calls add_action( 'wp_head', array(&$this, 'recent_comments_style') ); to add it (in wp-includes/default-widgets.php, line 609), and I'm trying to undo it. I think it should be something like this: remove_action('wp_head', 'WP_Widget_Recent_Comments::recent_comments_style'); but with all the variations I've tried I still can't get it right. • Help with proper character encoding.

  I have a HTML form that is sometimes submitted with accented characters: à, è, ì, ò, ù I have a PHP script that exports these form submissions into CSV format, when I look at the CSV format in a text editor (vim or notepad for example) the characters look fine, but when opened with Open Office or Word, I get some funky results: ????? I am also passing these submission to salesforce and am getting an error: "The entity "Atilde" was referenced, but not declared." What can I do to ensure portability of my CSV file? What's the proper way to handle the encoding? My HTML file is content-type is set as: Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8 Data is being stored in MySQL as latin1_swedish_ci collation.

• Form Submits to white page?

  So I have a form for my register system. When the form submits and there's errors, (like 'Enter a username first!' or 'You must provide a password!') it successfully refreshes the page and shows those errors. HOWEVER, when the form submits and the user has filled out all of the data, and there is NO errors, the form goes to a white page. I looked in the source, and all that shows is the javascript at the top of my page, but it looks like no PHP/HTML is being executed. What is happening?!

  Hi, I have a variable, $var, that contains a string of characters, this is a dynamic variable that contains the values from inputs. $var could be 'abc', or $var could be 'blu', I want to match the string inside variable against an array, and return all the matches. $array = array("blue", "red", "green"); What is the correct syntax for writing the code in php, my rough code is below $match = preg_grep($var, $array); (incorrect syntax of course) I tried to put quotes and escape slashes, but so far no luck. Any suggestion? TIA

• Architecture for multiple web apps and databases.

  We used to have only one web app, but now we are breaking it down into multiple ones. Each one will be packaged as separate product (web app) Some have things in common some do not. It was originally coded with php and using Postgresql 8.4 and CodeIgniter as the framework. I am looking for some good suggestions on how I should set up multiple web apps. They all have their own somewhat unique data. Some data in the databases can be common to some apps but not all. All the apps will be on one server and will have some kind of API to manipulate data. I want it to be structured such that one User account can access any product they purchase. (kinda like google accounts) I do not know if its a good idea to have multiple database, or just to have one big one. eventually we will be using S3 for some videos and other images. Your thoughts and suggestions are much appreciated.

• Converting paragraph tags with RegEx

  I need to replace all <p> tags with <br /> tags within a string. The problem is that the <p> tag can have attributes in it , such as <p align="center"> so I want to delete all occurrences of an opening tag of a paragraph, no matter what attributes are in it, and replace them with <br />. I am using PHP and had no success getting to the right expression with the preg_replace function. Any help would be appreciated! Joel

  Hi! I need to retrieve the name, email and picture from a google account. I am already using the openid to make the user login with it's google acc. Can I have the picture URL from the openid proccess? with OAuth I cant'seem to find the right scope to retrieve this information... See this link: http://code.google.com/apis/gdata/docs/directory.html there is a list of scopes that you can fetch with REST api to google and I didnt't see the one related to the profile. Btw, I am using PHP and the openid is already working, but didn't start with the oauth untill I know if I can(and need) retrieve the picture (because email and name already comes within the openid proccess) thanks, Joe

  If I have a REST based service written in the Symfony [symfony-project.org] framework (i.e. PHP), is there any decent tools/frameworks out there that will parse my code and generate API documentation? (Generates comment #8) INSERT INTO TreePaths (ancestor, descendant) VALUES (8, 8); INSERT INTO TreePaths (ancestor, descendant) SELECT ancestor, 8 FROM TreePaths WHERE descendant = 5; I try to translate all this into Codeigniters active record db-style language, and that's about where I get stuck. I cant understand how the second insert gets it's values. Is there anyone out there who can help me out with this?
