• Can a Client Link to My JavaScript, Hosted on a Different Domain?

  Is it possible for me to supply a client with a snippet of HTML which contains a reference to a javascript file that I host? They want to paste this HTML into their CMS, so that when their page loads, it'll load our content. I was under the impression that there was cross domain security preventing this from being possible. What if, instead of linking to the JavaScript, I gave them the snippet of HTML with the JavaScript already included so instead of <div> <!-- link to js --> </div> I gave them <div> $.get(/*url to my content*/); </div> Would that work?

• How to get page content using Javascript or JQuery

  Hello, I will have a widget on a remote page. In the widget I want javascript or jquery to get all the article content from the webpage and send it back to my website. I only need just the article content and not all the other information on the webpage. I would like the script to send the remote webpage url, page content, title text, and h1 text. I would not like to receive any html tags. Is this possible to do?

• IE7 Times Out Debugging ASP.Net Page

  My issue is similar to ASP.NET Debugging Timing out with IIS except that I'm using the built-in ASP.Net Development Server with VS 2010. If I pause for more than about 10 seconds in the debugger, IE7 "disconnects" from the web server with the error message Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage However, unlike in the similar question, the debugger is still running. If I refresh the browser it will post that refresh to the server and I can debug the page from the top again. Is it possible to configure things so that IE7 waits (much) longer before giving up? If it makes a difference, I'm launching IE using the "Start external program" option and passing a localhost URL as the command line argument (since Chrome is my default browser). I also specify a specific port.

  Hi, I am new to MVC, and trying something and got stuck somewhere in between. I have a user control there I have three textbox html type(ID, Lastname, firstname) and a submit buttom. I set the button like <input type="button" value="Search" onclick="location.href='<%= Url.Action("action", "controller") %>'" /> I have called this usercontrol on some view through <%= Html.Partial("ucName") %> Now on pressing that button(on user control) I need to pass the data from these textboxes to controller again to some specific action(Http Post action). By using this data I want to do some database interaction and storing the result in a dataset and pass this data set to same view again to show up in some Grid. I know the first part in conventional Asp.net can be done by raising the event through delegate but don't know how to do that in MVC.

  I have a web site built on Symfony2 which uses twig templates, LESS, and assetic. In order to cache bust assets, I'm simply using this in my config.yml: framework: templating: engines: ['twig'] assets_version: 'asset-version-here' And then I use the asset() function to load the asset and the cache busting is handled for me. However, the concern I have is when I load my LESS (css) file, there are references to other files, and I would like to know how these files can be cache busted as well. Example: .someSelector { background:url('../images/filename.png'); } How can I make sure that the referenced file, filename.png is cache busted upon deployment? The asset files referenced in Twig using asset() are cache busted automatically upon deployment (I use a deployment script hook that updates the assets_version in the framework's config), but those referenced in a stylesheet are not. How can I do this?

• Laravel 4 - Using multiple paginators on one page

  I've been googling for this question but can't find any good answers. I found that there is a method called setPageName() for the paginator but it only works when used like Paginator::setPageName('page'). I looked up the paginator in the Laravel API (http://laravel.com/api/class-Illuminate.Pagination.Environment.html) and the method is a public function just like setBaseUrl which I am currently using like $albums->setBaseUrl('/album/'); for instance I want to have a Photo paginator (?photoPage=n) and a Comment paginator (?commentPage=n). Is there any way that I can use two paginators that use different page names in the URL on one page, or at least call the setPageName() method like setBaseUrl()?

• Events on controls in web server control

  Hi All, I'm creating a web server control that has an image button on it. The html for the control is done in the RenderControls of the code, the control devrives from WebControl, IScriptControl, INamingContainer. The button is coded as follow in the RenderControls: System.Web.UI.WebControls.ImageButton img = new System.Web.UI.WebControls.ImageButton(); img.ImageUrl = "Url of the image"; img.Click += new ImageClickEventHandler(img_Click); img.ID = this.ClientID + "_img"; img.CausesValidation = false; imgLock.RenderControl(output); The button apreas in the browser but when i click on it, the page postsback but the event handler for the button doesn't get fired, from what i can figure out, since the control goes throught RenderControls eachtime the page is posted back, the button gets redrawn and the event handling disapears. This server control is in a master page. Anyone can help me on this? Thanks

• Having to keep on restarting the Application Pool?

  One of our major websites (built on PHP, MSSQL, IIS7) has started to become unresponsive every few hours and I'm having to log on to the server and restart the application pool. The rest of the websites on the server are fine, so I figure it may be due to a code problem? Whilst I look over all the code, specifically the database connections, would anyone have any advice on how I could better track this down to what is actually causing it to become unresponsive? By "unresponsive" I mean when you enter the URL it doesn't resolve and times out. Thanks for any help, Steven.

• iPhone: How many instances of AVAudioPlayer should I have for multiple sounds?

  So I'm using AvAudioPlayer to play multiple wav files. About 20 different sounds (each about 1 sec long), and you can think of each being played on a button press. Also I don't need them all to play simultaneously, i.e., one plays and you press another button to play another one (which stops the currently played one). What I'm wondering, should I have multiple instances of AVAudioPlayer (20 of them) and then preload the audio files, or should I just use one instance of AvAudioPlayer and each time a button is pressed, initialize the AvAudioPlayer with the sound url (or would this be too slow?) • .NET Web Service Proxy is adding special characters in XML

  My web service proxy seems to be adding special characters like "*" and "#" etc. within the xml nodes. My proxy created lists using arrays of objects. I am trying to create a generic list and then doing list.ToArray() to set the proxy MyProxyObject[] object. Is this the cause of the problem I am having? I plan on running fiddler on the request later but it is over SSL and I do not have access to the URL at the moment. • jQuery drag and drop behavior with partially transparent image

  I'm trying to develop a drag-and-drop behavior based on the jQuery UI draggable behavior but am running into some road blocks. I want to be able to drag several images with transparent regions around a region of the screen. I want the user to be able to drag the image he clicks and not just whatever draggable div or PNG happens to be z-indexed on top. The below image is a screen grab from my test page. If I click the lower left region of the blue square through the red thing I should drag the square and not the red thing. The red thing is what gets dragged though because it is on top and the browser does not care about the transparency. My question is, how can I make it behave as expected in this situation and drag the square instead? Edit: Seems I can't attach images as a new user.   So I am using this to fix PNG transparency on background images in IE6 ul li a { background-image: url('/NewSite/Content/Images/Sprite.png'); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 0 -48px; background-image: none; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(src=/NewSite/Content/Images/Sprite.png, sizingMethod='crop'); } This works great, however I have run into a problem when trying to implement this with a sprite. The fix ignores the positioning and renders as if the position was top right. Is there a way to force background position or a better way to do this. I would prefer to not use JavaScript or change to gifs. Any help is appreciated!

• CURL issue in PHP while getting location list

  I am retrieving the nearest locations available from a given address (Longitude/Latitude) from geolocation website. It works fine, but for some places it gives junk characters in the name. Moreover, in browser I am getting different characters compared to my PHP CURL functionality. • Single file in a working copy (branch) pointing to trunk under TortoiseSVN?

  Got a very strange problem. I've got a working copy which is from a branch. When I commit any changes from this working copy, one single file in the working copy gets committed to the trunk. If I right-click this single file and click Commit the SVN URL displayed points to the /trunk and not the branch. How on earth could this happen? I used TortoiseSVN to create the branch in the first place. How can I fix this?

I'd like to pass the value in :current_question to a link_to_remote call in _old_question_tags.haml: #{link_to_remote image_tag('red-x.png', {:alt => "Remove #{t.name} tag"}), :url => {:action => 'remove_old_tag_from_question', :tag_remove => t.id, :current_question => current_question}} But I get this error on the link_to_remote line: ActionView::TemplateError (undefined local variable or method `current_question' for #<ActionView::Base:0xdb2fec8>) In _old_question_tags.haml, if I just print current_question (using =current_question), it prints the number without any problems. How do I properly pass that value to the partial so that I can pass it to the link_to_remote call?

I need some different font size text . I am using UITextView, but UITextView do not support customized text in it. How can I have the scrolling text which has different font size. • Slickgrid, confirm before edit

  I am making a slick grid and need the ability to add rows with a code column. For this to be possible the code column needs to be editable for the entire table. I am trying to work out a way that I can confirm the edit with a standard javascript confirm popup box. I tried putting one into the onedit event within the slickgrid constructor and that executed after the edit. I am led to believe that the edit function is independent from calling the edit stored procedure of the database. Is there a better way to go about this?   I'm building some YouTube search functionality into an iPhone app and want to ensure that I only receive results that will be playable on the device. According to the Searching for videos section in the API reference doc this seems to be relatively straightforward: The format parameter specifies that videos must be available in a particular video format. Your request can specify any of the following formats: I've currently set my project to only return videos with "format=1" which will limit to: RTSP streaming URL for mobile video playback. H.263 video (up to 176x144) and AMR audio. I'd love if someone could confirm that this is in fact the appropriate setting or let me know if I'm missing something. Cheers.
