  • Can't call method in model table class using Doctrine with Zend Framework

    I'm using Doctrine with Zend Framework. For my model, I'm using a base class, the regular class (which extends the base class), and a table class. In my table class, I've created a method which does a query for records with a specific value for one of the fields in my model. When I try and call this method from my controller, I get an error message saying, "Message: Unknown method Doctrine_Table::getCreditPurchases". Is there something else I need to do to call functions in my table class?     I have a jQueryUI slider on my website that deals with price range. I have a products table in mysql that has various entries. I am using the slider to filter the results, but I need to set the minimum and maximum prices from the records in my database. Should I just generate (with php) hidden fields in my html that contain the minimum and maximum and then use jQuery to obtain them? Or is there a better way of achieving this, maybe using AJAX?     Whenever I add a layer for Core Animation either from the nib or programatically, the NSTextFields (labels) in my interface get messed up. Here's a screenshot from Apple's BasicCocoaAnimations example. (Look at the text fields on the left, somehow they're drawn sharper than normal) Note that if I add a layer in IB then it also gets messed up in IB itself before I even run my app.

    In my application I use some icons. Where should I store the path of the directory containing those icons ? The icons are used in different classes so it doesn't really make sense to store them in one of those classes in particular. I read that global variables are evil, but is it acceptable to use a class (eg Commons) containing only public static final fields to store this king of data ? What solution is used in professional applications ?

However what I would like to do is instead of showing all those labels next to the input boxes (which breaks the layout) is just keep it simple and only change the colours of the input fields. I want it to be used to get the name of the table like ds.Tables[BGuestInfo.TableName.L_GUEST_TYPE.ToString()]. public enum TableName : byte { L_GUEST_TYPE = 0 ,L_AGE_GROUP = 1 ,M_COMPANY = 2 ,L_COUNTRY = 3 ,L_EYE_COLOR = 4 ,L_GENDER = 5 ,L_HAIR_COLOR = 6 ,L_STATE_PROVINCE = 7 ,L_STATUS = 8 ,L_TITLE = 9 ,M_TOWER = 10 ,L_CITY = 11 ,L_REGISTER_TYPE = 12 } This is my enum. Now I have not created any object of this enum so that no one can use it for other than read only purpose. For this enum to be accessible in outer classes as well I have to make it public which means some outer class can create its object as well. So what can i do so as to restrict its object creation.

I guess when implementing static synchronized method, a lock belongs to Class object is used so that multiple static synchronized methods may degrade performance of the system. Am I right? or JVM use other mechanism to implement static synchronized method? What's the best practice if I have to implement multiple static synchronized methods in a class? Thank you all! Doctrine is already integrated into my auto loading system and im now at the stage where ill be creating the model system for my application Usually i would create a simple model like so: namespace Application\Models; class Users extends \Framework\Models\Database{} which would inherit all the default database model methods, But with Doctrine im still learning how it all works, as its not just a simple DBAL.
