  Well, i got this oop: abstract class TestSystemUtils { abstract public function __run(); /* utils funcs */ } class TestSystem extends TestSystemUtils { protected $body; protected $out; function __construct() { } public function __run() { } } I got a directory with many modules, each module is a class that extends TestSystem but i don't want to include all them modules then in method __run i make a dbconnection get these modules that will be used, but in this point idk the right way to 'include' these files i can use __autoload func but idk if i should call these classes inside the class TestSystem or not, all modules need to use these two variables 'body' and 'out' ... Well what's the right way to do it? someone could help me please. Module classes look like: class mod01 extends TestSystem { } thanks.

  Hi. I've got form for some model A, which has got few fields: tile description ... colors colors are selected from multiple select and options are ['red', 'green', 'blue', 'yellow']. User can choose colors as many as he wants. I don't think that making Color model and has_many relationship is good solution here to store colors data in model A. So question is: How to store multiple data in db for such multiple select forms?

• When is C++ covariance the best solution?

  This question was asked here a few hours ago and made me realise that I have never actually used covariant return types in my own code. For those not sure what covariance is, it's allowing the return type of (typically) virtual functions to differ provided the types are part of the same inheritance hierarchy. For example: struct A { virtual ~A(); virtual A * f(); ... }; struct B : public A { virtual B * f(); ... }; The different return types of the two f() functions are said to be covariant. Older versions of C++ required the return types to be the same, so B would have to look like: struct B : public A { virtual A * f(); ... }; So, my question: Does anyone have a real-world example where covariant return types of virtual functions are required, or produce a superior solution to simply returning a base pointer or reference?

• Possible Conflict with Class name & Property Name?

  If you have a namespace that contains a property in ClassA and a class that has the name of that Property somewhere else in your project and both are in the same namespace this won't cause conflicts will it? So lets say I have a class named Car namespace Dealer { class Vehicle { // the main class that defines vehicle, so this is Dealer.Vehicle (Vehicle.cs) } } and a property over in some other class namespace Dealer { class Dealer { public Vehicle Vehicle { get { return _vehicle; } } } } so for the second it is really this for the property public Dealer.Vehicle Vehicle { get { return _car; } } so now you have Dealer.Vehicle and Dealer.Dealer.Vehicle. • "input cannot be resolved" when added a try..catch

  I originally tried to get my throw statement to work without a try catch and the userInput = input.nextInt(); line worked fine. But when I tried adding the try..catch it didn't like my input saying it cannot be resolved. I don't think my try..catch is correct yet but I am planning on tackling that after I can get this input to be recognized but I would appreciate any feedback on things you see with that as well.   Using VS 2008 Have a C++ class in which I'm calling functions from a 3rd party dll. So, now that I know the basic code works, I open a dll project using the class header and code file. Course I have to add the dll macro, namely: #ifdef IMAGEDLL_EXPORTS #define DLL __declspec(dllexport) #else #define DLL __declspec(dllimport) #endif and changed the class definition to "class DLL ImageExport". Compiled nicely to a dll and .lib file (No errors, No warnings). Now to test this dll I open another console project using the same main method as before and linking to the (dll) lib file. Had problems, which when tracked down were the result of the two fields not being set; both had values of 0. Went back to the first console app and printed out the values: dwOutputId was 1535 (#define FI_JPEGFIF 1535) and dwSpecType was 2 (#define IOTYPE_ANSIPATH 2). Now if I was assigning these values outside of the class, I can see how the visibility could be different, but why is the assignment in the dll not working? Is it something about having a class in the dll?

• C# NetworkAvailibilityChanged doesn't trigger on disconnect

  My goal is to detect when the Ethernet cable gets disconnected I am attempting to use NetworkChange class but the event NetworkAvailibilityChanged does not trigger when I unplug Ethernet cable.   i see after installing the asp.net membership tables, they use the data type "uniqueidentifier" for all of the primary key fields. I have been using "int" data type and doing increment by one on inserts. Is there any particular benefits to using the uniqueIdentifier data type compared to my current model of using int and auto increments on new inserts ?

And I've noticed that sometimes I see put 102 times with any take's between them. Why does it happen? • Any tools or techniques for validating constraints programmatically between databases?

  If you had two databases, that had two tables between them that would normally implement a one to one (or many to many) constraint but cannot since they are separate databases, how would you validate this relationship in an application or test? Is there a simple way to do this? For example, a tool or technique that can, given a constraint type, tables and fields, does the validation. • Java: Allowing the child thread to kill itself on InterruptedException?

  I am using a ThreadPool via ExecutorService. By calling shutDownNow() it interrupts all running threads in the pool. When this happens I want these threads to give up their resources (socket and db connections) and simply die, but without continuing to run anymore logic, eg: inserting anything into the DB. What is the simplest way to achieve this?
