  • Can't call method in model table class using Doctrine with Zend Framework

    I'm using Doctrine with Zend Framework. For my model, I'm using a base class, the regular class (which extends the base class), and a table class. In my table class, I've created a method which does a query for records with a specific value for one of the fields in my model. When I try and call this method from my controller, I get an error message saying, "Message: Unknown method Doctrine_Table::getCreditPurchases". Is there something else I need to do to call functions in my table class?     The scenario generating this is quite complex so I'll strip out a few pieces and give an accurate representation of the classes involved. /* This is inherited using SI by many classes, as normal */ class IBase { virtual string toString()=0; }; /* Base2 can't inherit IBase due to other methods on IBase which aren't appropriate */ class Base2 { string toString() { ... } }; /* a special class, is this valid? */ class Class1 : public IBase, public Base2 { }; So, is this valid? Will there be conflicts on the toString? Or can Class1 use Base2::toString to satisfy IBase? Like I say there are lots of other things not shown, so suggestions for major design changes on this example are probably not that helpful... though any general suggestions/advice are welcome.

  • Java 7 API design best practice - return Array or return Collection

    I know this question has be asked before generic comes out. Array does win out a bit given Array enforces the return type, it's more type-safe. But now, with latest JDK 7, every time when I design this type of APIs: public String[] getElements(String type) vs public List<String> getElements(String type) I am always struggling to think of some good reasons to return A Collection over An Array or another way around. What's the best practice when it comes to the case of choosing String[] or List as the API's return type? Or it's courses for horses. I don't have a special case in my mind, I am more looking for a generic pros/cons comparison.

    Getting the following error when trying to open a word document with macros to fill in the form fields: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Security\AccessVBOM. The user opening the word document does not have admin rights and the AccessVBOM flag is either not available or set to zero. I can set the flag for the HKCU (Current user) programmaticallybut cannot change setting for inunder HKLM . Please advise how can we enable the trust for the VBA project programmatically. Thx Kumar

  • Drupal rendering incomplete views

    I got tapped to do some quick maintenance on a recently migrated Drupal site. I'm pretty new to Drupal, so hopefully the problem is something that more experienced guys will figure out quick. Behavior is as follows. The public content works fine as far as I can tell. When I go to login, the login form renders correctly, but when I post the form w/ my credentials, I get back a blank page (not a 404; looks like a 200 to the /user URL, but all the gets rendered is empty Head and body tags). If i refresh the page, I get the content of my profile view, but none of the site chrome or CSS. Note that this is not an issue on the site it was migrated from, so it seems like something wasn't copied over correctly. The site's not public, so I can't provide a URL, sorry!

Within a view - actually a partial view, ascx file - I can refer to it like this: Storyboard.Helpers.DetailsForm.LabelAndData(Html, m => m.id) But would like to refer to it like this: LabelAndData(Html, m => m.id) A 'using' directive doesn't seem to be allowed in the ascx file. When I put more than 2 items in the download queue my device is unusable. It nearly freezes. Huge lags and so on. Any idea?     I still try different basics with android, and now I'm stuck with animation. I'm trying to implement a simple animation. I've defined animation in xml file like this: alpha android:interpolator="@android:anim/accelerate_interpolator" android:fromAlpha="0.0" android:toAlpha="1.0" duration="3000" repeatCount="infinite" In my main view group I have an ImageView defined like this: <ImageView android:id="@+id/someb" android:src="@drawable/earth_normal" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="5dip"/> And this is from my starting activity class: public class Ohayou extends Activity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); ImageView earth = (ImageView)findViewById(R.id.someb); Animation earthFadeInAnimation = AnimationUtils.loadAnimation(this, R.anim.fade_in); earth.startAnimation(earthFadeInAnimation); } It finds ImageView successfuly and creates animation. but when I start emulator ImageView just shows the original src image, not an animation.     I am trying to set up a class with commonly used tasks, such as preparing strings for input into a database and creating a PDO object. I would like to include this file in other class files and extend those classes to use the common class' code. However, when I place the common class in its own file and include it in the class it will be used in, I receive an error that states the second class cannot be found. For example, if the class name is foo and it is extending bar (the common class, located elsewhere), the error says that foo cannot be found. But if I place the code for class bar in the same file as foo, it works.     Why might my GetRawData declared function return a correct value when called from my VB.NET application, but return zero when called from my ASP.NET page? The code is exactly the same except for class type difference (Form / Page) and calling event handler (Form1_Load, Page_Load).   • Java compiler rejects variable declaration with parameterized inner class

    I have some Groovy code which works fine in the Groovy bytecode compiler, but the Java stub generated by it causes an error in the Java compiler. I think this is probably yet another bug in the Groovy stub generator, but I really can't figure out why the Java compiler doesn't like the generated code. But ProcessingQueueMember is not a raw type as the compiler claims, it is a generic type: private class ProcessingQueueMember <E> extends java.lang.Object implements groovy.lang.GroovyObject { ... I am very confused as to why the compiler thinks that the type Queue<ProcessingQueueMember<T>> is invalid. The Groovy source compiles fine, and the generated Java code looks perfectly correct to me too. What am I missing here? Is it something to do with the fact that the type in question is a nested class? (in case anyone is interested, I have filed this bug report relating to the issue in this question) Edit: Turns out this was indeed a stub compiler bug- this issue is now fixed in 1.8.9, 2.0.4 and 2.1, so if you're still having this issue just upgrade to one of those versions. :)

I'm having trouble making a TableLayoutPanel scrollable - every combination of properties I've tried seems to result in some really peculiar side effects. So I have two questions: Is this the best way to do it. If it is a reasonable approach, what magic combination of settings should I apply to the table layout panel to make it play ball?
