  I'm upgrading a (working) query based group (Exchange 2003) to a new and 'improved' dynamic distribution group (2010). For better or worse, our company decided to store everyone's employee ID in the pager field, so it's easy to manipulate via ADUC. That employee number has significance, as all employees are in a certain range, and all contractors are in a very different range. Basically, the new opath syntax appears to be using string compare on my pager field, even though it's a number. Let's say my employee ID is 3004, well, it's "less than" 4 from a string check POV. Set-DynamicDistributionGroup -Identity "my-funky-new-group" -RecipientFilter "(pager -lt 4) -and (pager -like '*') -and (RecipientType -eq 'UserMailbox')" Shows up in EMC with this: ((((((Pager -lt '4') -and (Pager -ne $null))) -and (RecipientType -eq 'UserMailbox'))) -and (-not(Name -like 'SystemMailbox{*')) -and (-not(Name -like 'CAS_{*')) -and (-not(RecipientTypeDetailsValue -eq 'MailboxPlan')) -and (-not(RecipientTypeDetailsValue -eq 'DiscoveryMailbox')) -and (-not(RecipientTypeDetailsValue -eq 'ArbitrationMailbox'))) This group should have max of 3 members right? Nope - I get a ton because of the string compare. I show up, and I'm in the 3000 range. Question: Anyone know a clever way to force this to be an integer check? The read-only LDAP filter on this group looks good, but of course it can't be edited. The LDAP representation (look ma, no quotes on the 4!) - Also interesting it sort of 'fills the' bed with the (pager=4) thing... (&(pager<=4)(!(pager=4))(pager=*)(objectClass=user)(objectCategory=person)(mailNickname=*)(msExchHomeServerName=*)(!(name=SystemMailbox{*))(!(name=CAS_{*))!(msExchRecipientTypeDetails=16777216))(!(msExchRecipientTypeDetails=536870912))(!(msExchRecipientTypeDetails=8388608))) If there is no solution, I suppose my recourse is either finding an unused field that actually will be treated as an integer, or most likely building this list with powershell every morning with my own automation - lame. I know of a few ways to fix this outside of the opath filter (designate "full-time" in another field, etc.), but would rather exchange do the lifting since this is the environment at the moment.   I have a macro which I've been using to merge two cells together in a word table, but what I want to do is to get the cursor to move down by one cell, so that I can repeatedly press the shortcut key to repeat the command over and over.   I have a function that creates a Pivot Table, but I am getting an error when I try to set a range that will be merged and have a title added to it. In the below code, pivot_title_range is a 'String' variable, and is optional when calling the funtion. title_range is a 'Range' variable. Both lines that set the range (whether or not the users declares pivot_title_range) cause the same error. • How to give everyone access to a office@companyname address and let everyone see what messages were

  This should be simple (because I assume everyone has this problem) but googling and searching of serverfault didn't help much. I'd like all messages sent to our "office@companyname" to be visible by everyone and I'd like anyone to be able to respond. I also need everyone to at least SEE that a given message has already been answered (the ability to see the actual response would be nice). I tried using an shared folder for this but it fails miserably because replying to emails leaves no trace, not even for the user that actually sent the message. I'm open to any kind of solution, even commercial add-on solutions.

  Hi All, I have a Telerik RadEditor on the sharepoint and iam unable to edit the webpart. How can i edit the webpart, please suggest. The “Edit” option is not visible although i have clicked on “edit page” from site actions. IMP:- the webpart uses 3 images all of which are of size 567X113 pixels. • Populating cells with data from another spreadsheet after just keying in a few letters

  I have 1 workbook with 2 spreadsheets. Spreadsheet 2 column A contains a long list of company names, Columns B - H contain critical information about the company. Spreadsheet 1 contains all of the columns as Spreadsheet 2 plus some other columns. What I'm trying to achieve is that when you start to type in the first 3 characters of a company name on Spreadsheet 1 it would then have a drop down of the companies (as listed on Spreadsheet 2) that share the first 3-5 letters and you would select one. Upon selecting a company name all of the corresponding company information would populate in the other columns on spreadsheet 1 automatically. This is to avoid copying a row from Spreadsheet 2 and pasting it in Spreadsheet 1. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

• I noticed the answer to the Aug 2009 question of using VBA to set Custom Flag values

  We are actively using the Follow Up mail feature to assign users to particular mail follow up items. Although mail item follow ups are generally the province of the individual user, by changing the flag value from "Follow Up" to "User name", we can see each other's follow up tasks and group on responsible party. Currently we accomplish the Flag value change manually. My sense is the easiest way to perfect the process is a separate macro for each user. Along the lines of the macro to change the star/end due date to end of month, please define the macro to re-assign the Flag value for each highlighted mail item (previously assigned by default). • How can I move mysites to a new location

  I recently restored my content and was instructed to create mysites in a different location than was originally used. Now I have several users mysites in /personal. The new desired location is /mysites. From what I found in the documentation I should back them up and restore them to the new location. Here's what I've done: Backup individual site collection for user mysite stsadm -o backup -url "https://myUrl/personal/john_smith" -filename johnsmith.bkup Restore individual site collection for user mysite stsadm -o restore -url "https://myUrl/mysites/john_smith" -filename johnsmith.bkup -overwrite The result of this and the problem is when i enumerate sites i end up with this: <Site Url="https://myUrl/mysites" Owner="domainname\john.smith" ContentDatabase="WSS_Content_MySites" StorageUsedMB="1.6" StorageWarningMB="90000" StorageMaxMB="100000" /> it leaves off the username part of the url. and if I restore more that one they want to overwrite each other.

• Forward emails from specific domain in Exchange

  Our Exchange server handles emails for @ourdomain.com (for example). We have multiple clients that will send emails to our [email protected] email address and we want to configure server-side rules that will forward emails from each client's domain to a different email address within our exchange server. For example: [email protected] sends an email to [email protected] and we forward it to [email protected] [email protected] sends an email to [email protected] and we forward it to [email protected] ...and so on. It would be nice if we can additionally stop the email arriving in the [email protected] mailbox, but that is not a specific requirement. We have a rule setup in Outlook that sort of works, but it doesn't do all from a domain only specific email addresses. It does work when Outlook is not running which is a start. I realise it would be easier to give each client a partiuclar email address and have them email straight to that rather than all use the same, but this is what I have been asked to setup.... :S

• Pivot table not refreshing sort order

  I have Pivot Table that get its data source from another sheet, same workbook. I want the sort order of data is same as the data source order, I choose "Sort in data source order" in Pivot Table option. The problem is, when I change the data order on data source worksheet, then I refresh the Pivot Table, the sort order didn't change. I googled that the Pivot Table should be unlink first then re-link again in order to work properly, so I tried the following: The original data source has named range: origdata. The fake data source has names range: dummydata I changed manually data source to dummydata then changed back to origdata. The sort order did change as expected. Now I want to make the operation automated, so I'm using this code in Worksheet.activate event. Note that, PT is PivotTable instance. ... PT.SourceData = "dummydata" PT.RefreshTable PT.SourceData = "origdata" PT.RefreshTable ... Change data source from VBA didn't change the sort order just like I did with manual method. Why is that? Am I missing something? Maybe there are some routine called when I changed the data source manually via toolbar button? Thanks in advance for your help.

Now i want to get rid of the function and just leave the data with the link. So i do Paste Special -- Values Which does the job but then the link is removed. How can i paste the values and keep the hyperlink?

• What's a good way to share a value in multiple places in a Word document?

  Let's say I have a value: \\myServer\dir1\dir2\dir3. I'd like this value to appear in multiple places in an MSWord document. However I only want to write it down once. What's a good way to do this? Fields seem like the answer but I can't get it to work; maybe it's not the answer. I'd like to be able to do this without any macros; it adds too much complexity. I need something more like Excel -- write a cell value here, reference it there, change the original value and the reference gets updated too. Edit: ideally I'd have the value updated automatically (fields don't seem to want to do that!).

• I have two 'WsusContent' folders. One has about 55gb of files in it. How do I clear it out?

  I ran the WSUS cleanup wizard in the WSUS MMC snap-in but this made no difference. I think the files are associated with System Center Essentials because they are in a folder called "data\SCE2007\WsusContent" I've looked for a similar cleanup wizard in System Center Essentials but can't find one. Is there a way to clear these files out that doesn't cause issues for SCE or anything else? FYI I've got both SCE and standalone WSUS settings already set to minimize the amount of updates downloaded from Microsoft to only those that are needed.

• How can I make results of a formula values that can be filtered or use vlookup with Excel

  I am having an issue in that I am using various formulas to move, split data, etc from various sources. The problem is when my final results post to the final destination that I want, I still need to either run advanced filters, or a vlookup with the results. I can’t do this because as an example if cell A1 shows a value of: A127 the actual cell content is: =RIGHT(A2,FIND(" ",A2&" ")-2) Everything I read said to copy and paste special values, but this doesn’t work for me as the idea is to have the formulas/macros run everything and eliminating cutting and pasting. In the case above I have a formula that pulls that info from a spreadsheet that is saved every week. Once it is pulled part of it is cut out in another column. I then need to run a vlookup on those results for data already contained on another tab.

• Excel: What formula combines this data into one COUNT amount?

  I have 30 colleagues who are answering questions over 3 time periods. Each has their own Excel workbook with the questions, and over the year they update it. I collate their worksheets into one master worksheet, but now need to combine their answers into a simple table. The questions, the time periods and then a COUNT of how many answered it. For example: I need a table that shows me how many people (not the persons name at this point) answered question 10 in time period 2. I can't use a database before someone mentions it ;). • Lookup Multiple Results for Multiple Criteria

  I've got a list of parent SKUs for items I need to create in my inventory system. This list has been finely paired down to the 165 products we would like to carry. However, each one of these 165 SKUs has between 2 and 8 child SKUs of different colors, sizes, etc. Those are stored on a different worksheet, mixed into around 2500 items. Those are the SKUs I need to input into my inventory system. Here is what it looks like. Sheet 1 is just SKUs: A 1 2 3 4 Sheet 2 is comprised of all the child SKUs, with parent SKUs in column B. Not all parents have the same number of children: A B 1BLKM 1 1BLKL 1 1BLUM 1 2BLKM 2 2BLKL 2 2BLUM 2 2ORAM 2 3BLKM 3 3BLUM 3 I want to look up all of the child SKUs for the Parent SKU list that has been fine tuned. Parent SKU is included as a column on the child SKU worksheet. I need to lookup all matches of the Parent SKU, then continue to move down the parent SKU list until all matches for all 165 parent items have been found. It seems like every function I try can't use an Array for input. Is there a way to do this with Lookup or some combination of index, match, row, etc? Any way at all to do it without VBA? Or maybe even a VBA solution with code that I can understand, as someone who hasn't used VBA before.

• Positive result, negative result and current balance. How do you make starting balance show current result?

  I have 3 columns. Column A shows positive result and if the result is negative then it is in a column B. Column B shows negative result and if the result is positive then it is in a column A. (meaning that either columns can have 0.00 in the cell (empty zero cells)). Column C has starting assets and it also shows the current balance that while result A or B are adding up and current balance is showing the current result. What is the proper formula for this I hope I was clear with my problem. Please help. Thanks in advance!
