• Displaying ads over WiFi hotspot

  I have recently distributed my WiFi network with highpseed antennas to my area which covers almost 300-400 peoples. I am not charging them anything but i would like to generate some revenue through Advertisements placed on the websites that they visit. Is it possible to display ads from Google (I know i can do redirect the Advertisements, using some cache server or firewall) . Its just like a free vpn but i would like to have my advertisements above the websites they visit so i can take out the cost for the WiFi that i offer. Any suggestions would be great!

• Alpha transparent PNGs not displaying correctly in Mobile Safari

  I'm using some semi-transparent PNGs as background-images on various websites. These are usually something like a 1x1 image with a 30-percent opaque white layer. I've noticed that Mobile Safari does not display them correctly, giving them a darker/grayish tint. I've created a couple test pages to illustrate. View them both in your normal browser, and then on Mobile Safari, and you should see what I mean. This shows 11 red images of varying opacities on white: http://thecompleteworks.org/alpha-tests/index-red.html This shows 11 white images of varying opacities on blue: http://thecompleteworks.org/alpha-tests/index.html Is this a MobileSafari bug (I couldn't imagine so), or do I need to do something different, either to my pages or PNGs? (Here's how I create the PNGs: In Photoshop, create a 1x1 transparent canvas. Draw a white rectangle in Layer 1. Set opacity to, say 30 percent, Save for Web as 24-bit PNG with transparency.)

The one is from Sun: http://jaxb.dev.java.net/jaxb-maven2-plugin/ the other from Mojo: http://mojo.codehaus.org/jaxb2-maven-plugin/ Has anybody experience with these two plugins, and give a recommendation? • How does the Twitter rate limit API work with multiple accounts?

  I know there's a Rest API to check the Twitter rate limit. To summarize policy: 150 for an IP, and 150 per non-whitelisted account except for searches (which are IP only). However, my app is using Twython, authenticated, but the limit seems to decrease for both my accounts as I use it.   I'm trying to get connected to another ASA via Cisco VPN Client. I am behind an ASA 5505 myself and I am tryihng to VPN to a 5510. I get the message: Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client. Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding. I can connect to the other ASA if I use a normal cheap Linksys. • How to set up server/domain name correctly in hosts file with HTTPS

  I am trying to do local network and I am using these kind of types of network. 1) Main server which connects to internet with static IP 2) Second computer connected to first one locally with address like 192.168.0.2 - when I write this address to address line it is like i wrote localhost in original main server - so it should show my local web browser etc ... It has domain name this IP and connected router for it ... example www.domain.com so I added to my main server hosts file (linux powered) lines like these: 192.168.0.2 domain.com www.domain.com It was working ok when I entered my domain name in local computer it showed my site ... But after some time I added HTTPS cerfiticate and added this line to my apatche server: Redirect permanent / https://www.domain.com/ And now it does not work even when i add something like this to my hosts file: 192.168.0.2 https://www.domain.com So any idea how do do this thing work? So my question is: is there a way to check if a image (say "http://couleeapps.hostei.com/BottomBox.png") is available without having to download it? Help is much appreciated HiGuy

  I have a master page, which has a style sheet, which has the following line: .idle { background-image: url( '../../Images/blue_bg.png' ); } All my pages inherit from this master page. And this works well when the URL is http://www.domain.com/home/details/5, however the URL is http://www.domain.com/home/create, then, of course, blue_bg.png cannot be found because `../../Images/blue_bg.png' resolves to a directory one higher where there is nothing there. I tried the trick suggested by @codemeit in a similar question, but I can't plop down C# in a style sheet, can I? How is this typically handled?

  Can someone explain conversation groups in service broker? Currently, I'm using service broker to send messages from one SQL server to another. On the sending server, I'm trying to correlate the messages so they are processed in serial on the receiving side. Based on the documentation, conversation groups seem to be a perfect fit for this, but on the receiving server, the messages get assigned to a different conversation group from the one I specified when sending the message.   WPF Windows-XP SP3 I'm having a problem with a simple WPF animation. After a fresh reboot of the machine, this animation is nice and smooth. However, I tend to leave my machine on all the time and after a period time elapses (I don't know how long), the animation starts stuttering and becomes choppy. I thought that it may be memory or resource issues, but after shutting down all other apps and any services that seem unnecessary, the stuttering still continues. However, after a system reboot, the animation is smooth again! I get the same symptoms in a WPF app or in XamlPad. In the case of the app, it doesn't seem to make any difference whether I run in the debugger or if I run the executable directly. I applied the patch at this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981741 and I thought that it had taken care of the issue, but it seems not to have. I have seen some posts that might indicate that using transparency might affect animation, but as you can see, my xaml does not use transparency. Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to determine what the problem is? Are there any WPF diagnostic tools that might help? UPDATE: I have checked my video drivers and they are the latest version. (nVidia GeForce 8400 GS)

I have followed some of the examples online to use RadSpell with ASP.NET MVC (http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/mvc-using-spellchecker.html and http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/spell-client-side-api.html) and I am able to attach multiple text controls to check but the display gets messed up when using Telerik MVC Grid editor popups since it's already in a modal. Sometimes it will randomly pick another div on the page and treats it like it's the main window (it will gray out just a portion of the page and I'll see the RadSpell popup peeking through but it's unusable). It seems like it chooses different places in the DOM to inject the iframe/radwindow for RadSpell as well. Any ideas? I didn't include any code because my implementation is a mess and I'd prefer to start with something simpler, from scratch.

  Hello, A part of a process requires to apply String Similarity Algorithms. The results of this process will be stored and produce lets say SS_Dataset. Based on this Dataset, further decisions will have to be made. My questions are: Should i apply one or more string similarity algorithms to produce SS_Dataset ? Any comparisons between algorithms that calculate the 'distance' and the 'Sounds Like' similarity ? Does one family of algorithms produces more accurate results over the other? Does a combination give more accurate results on similarity? Can you recommend implementations that you have worked with? • SDK Setup Problems

  Hi, Im new to android and am just trying to install the SDK. I have everything else done. When i run the SDK Setup.exe (ive added the ./tools to the path already.) It gives me the famous cannot fetch URL error. Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: Permission denied: connect I tried the force http option and also manually adding a http:// version of the above url. It does not work at all. I am working on a windows 7 64 bit pc. Any help would be appreciated. Ramesh

• jsf submit button not wrking

• Is url.openStream harmful?

  I was using the java.net.URL.openStream() method to retrieve content from the server. I recently ran into an issue where the HTTP Response code indicated an error, but instead of throwing an exception, the stream still was read anyway. This caused the error to appear much later in the execution and proved to be a red herring. As far as I can see, when you have opened a stream using this method, there is no way to check the HTTP response code. The only way I could find to handle this properly was to use code such as: HttpURLConnection conn=(HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection() if(conn.getResponseCode()!=HttpStatus.SC_OK) //Raise Exception; InputStream in=conn.getInputStream() So do you agree? Is it possible to use openStream safely, or is it a method that should be avoided at all costs. It is worth noting that Sun uses the method in their tutorial code for reading directly from a URL. Then again, the code throws Exception so it isn't exactly a bastion of good coding practices.

• Virtual guest does not have network access in cafe.

  My Virtualbox guest OS (Ubuntu on ubuntu host) does not connect to the internet when I have wifi access through an internet cafe system. By this, I mean where your browser redirects to an internal web page where you can enter a code. On the guest, I can successfully connect to the virtual network adapter, but I do not get internet access, nor a redirect to the internal web page. I use OpenDNS for the host. I have no problems when connecting through ethernet or regular wifi. Can someone tell me any of: 1) How to fix the problem. 2) How such cafe systems work. 3) At least point me to a technical explanation of such a cafe system so I can begin to troubleshoot. Thanks!
