    I had created a new table named USERLOG with two fields from a previous VIEW. The table already consist of about 9000 records. The two fields taken from the VIEW, i.e. weblog_views consist of IP (consists of IP address), and WEB_LINK (consists of URL). This is the code I used, CREATE TABLE USERLOG AS SELECT C_IP, WEB_LINK FROM weblog_views; I want to add another column to this table called the USER_ID, which would consists of a sequence starting with 1 to 9000 records to create a unique id for each existing rows. I need help with this part. I'm using Oracle SQL Developer: ODMiner version 3.0.04. I tried using the AUTO-INCREMENT option, ALTER TABLE USERLOG ADD USER_ID INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT; But I get an error with this, Error report: SQL Error: ORA-01735: invalid ALTER TABLE option 01735. 00000 - "invalid ALTER TABLE option" So, I would really appreciate any help that I can get!

    I've read that using a back tick ` should allow for using of reserved words. I'm using SQL Server and Fluent NHibernate and have a column name "File". If I map it with "`File" it tries using [Fil] so it's adding the brackets correctly, but dropping the "e" from the end. If I map it as "`Filee" it uses [File] correctly. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug in NHibernate or Fluent Nhibernate?

    Hello, is it possible to decorate a field of a LINQ generated class with [Column(IsDbGenerated=true)] using a buddy class (which is linked to the LINQ class via [MetadataType(typeof(BuddyMetadata))]) ? My goal is to be able to clear and repopulate the LINQ ORM designer without having to set the "Auto Generate Value" property manually every time to re-establish the fact that certain columns are autogenerated.     I want to be able to add a parent column header to each pair of columns shown below. So I want it to look like this: Grand Total OnHand Available Anyone know a way to do this? I know you can group columns together but I'm wondering how I can apply a label to those groups. Alternatively, if theres no way to do that, I could just override the "Grand Total" display text. The only problem is I can't get it aligned above its correct columns.

    I have a large table consisting of over 60 millions records and I would like to add 2 new columns for data migration purposes. There are indexes on the table and some of them are large. So, by me adding the 2 new columns to the table, will I run the risk of slowing down the database whilst it attempts to add them and maybe time-out? Or will it just work? I know that if I try and rearrange the columns SQL Server will ask me to drop and re-create the table, so I definately don't want this. Is this something everyone is challenged with?

  • Firefox add-on development: Register global dynamic custom keyboard shortcuts

    I have been tasked with developing a Firefox add-on that is capable of registering global keyboard shortcuts (ones that will work throughout all areas of Firefox) that will open up the side-bar and execute an XMLRPC request based on previously recorded input. The idea here is that there will be many potential XMLRPC requests that the user will want to execute via a keyboard shortcut. Currently, the add-on is capable of handling pre-defined static keyboard shortcuts via the Firefox overlay. What I would like to achieve, is to allow the user to register their own dynamic custom keyboard shortcut. There is an add-on that currently has some of this functionality, called Keyconfig. I'm not keen on having to ask users to install a second add-on to define their own shortcuts. It also seems that using the dynamic keyboard shortcut registration method in Keyconfig would require the user to close all Firefox windows before the dynamic shortcut is made available. What I would like to know is: Is an XPCOM component the best way to register dynamic keyboard shortcuts from within a Firefox add-on? Is there a way to register the keyboard shortcut so that it is immediately available to all Firefox windows, without having to close the windows beforehand?
