Jetty startup delay

I'm trying to figure out what would be causing a 1 minute delay in the startup of Jetty. Is it a configuration problem, my application, or something else? I have Jetty 7 (jetty-7.0.1.v20091125 25 November 2009) installed on a server and I deploy a 45MB ROOT.war file into the webapps directory. This is the only webapp configured in Jetty. I then start Jetty with the command: java -DSTOP.PORT=8079 -DSTOP.KEY=mystopkey -Denv=stage -jar start.jar etc/jetty-logging.xml etc/jetty.xml & I get two lines of output right after doing this: 2010-03-07 14:20:06.642:INFO::Logging to StdErrLog::DEBUG=false via org.eclipse.jetty.util.log.StdErrLog 2010-03-07 14:20:06.710:INFO::Redirecting stderr/stdout to /home/zing/jetty-distribution-7.0.1.v20091125/logs/2010_03_07.stderrout.log When I press the enter key, I get my command prompt back. Notice the 1 minute long pause between the 3rd and 4th lines. What is Jetty doing at this point? What other things could be going on? It doesn't even look like it has started my Spring initialization yet. Note that I checked my /tmp directory to see if it was simply the time to unpack my war file, but the file had been completely unpacked even at the start of this 1 minute delay.

Android Custom View Constructor

I'm learning about using Custom Views from the following: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/custom-components.html#modifying The description says: Class Initialization As always, the super is called first. Furthermore, this is not a default constructor, but a parameterized one. The EditText is created with these parameters when it is inflated from an XML layout file, thus, our constructor needs to both take them and pass them to the superclass constructor as well. Is there a better description? I've been trying to figure out what the constructor(s) should look like and I've come up with 4 possible choices (see example at end of post). I'm not sure what these 4 choices do (or don't do), why I should implement them, or what the parameters mean. Is there a description of these? Thanks. Create image from scratch with JMagick

I am using Java port of ImageMagick called JMagick .I need to be able to create a new image and write an arbitrary text chunk into it.The docs are very poor and what I managed to get so far is to write text into the image which comes from IO.Also , in all the examples I have found it seems like the very first operation ,before writing new image data , is always loading of an existing image into ImageInfo instance.How do I create an image from scratch with JMagick and then write a text into it? I hope I'm missing something, it is late... But it appears that detaching a fetched item will actually release all handles on the object letting it be collected. Asp.net web forms, Asp Identity - how to store claims from Facebook, Twitter, etc

This request is based upon the new Visual Studio 2013 integration of Asp.net Identity stuff. I have seen some of the posts regarding this question for MVC, but for the life of me cannot get it to work for standard Web Forms. What I'm trying to do is populate the AspNetUserClaims table from the claims that I get back from Facebook (or other service). I actually can see the values coming back in the OnAuthenticated below, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to add these claims to the context of the currently logged in user? There are literally hundreds of MVC examples surrounding this, but alas no Web Forms examples. This should be completely straightforward, but for some reason I cannot match up the context of the currently logged in user to the claims and credentials coming back from Facebook. Currently after the OnAuthenticated fires, it obviously returns me to the page (RegisterExternalLogin.aspx) as the built-in example provides. However, the claims are gone, the context of the login to Facebook is gone, and I can't do anything else at this point. how to know which response data is associated with its requested url (using RollingCurl.php) ?

I am writing a web application that grabs the http response headers from multiple sites (with RollingCurl.php) then stores it in an array and at the end outputs it in json format. Since some sites do redirects to new locations, $info (array) in “request_callback” function always has an url ($info[‘url’]) where the requested url was redirect.to, and it’s quite expected. Eclipse Maven web application - can not run on server anymore

I have an maven eclipse webapp project that I was able to right click and 'Run on server' and it would deploy on tomcat. I recently did a 'maven - Update project conifgurations' and I now can NOT deploy and run the project as a webapp. Has anyone seen this before? The only output from tomcat is as follows - it doesnt even look like its trying to deploy the application. Best pattern to load enumerated values from DAL using WCF RIA Services

I would like to be able to load several RIA entitysets in a single call without chaining/nesting several small LoadOperations together so that they load sequentially. I have several pages that have a number of comboboxes on them. These comboboxes are populated with static values from a database (for example status values). Right now I preload these values in my VM by one method that strings together a series of LoadOperations for each type that I want to load. For example: public void LoadEnums() { context.Load(context.GetMyStatusValues1Query()).Completed += (s, e) => { this.StatusValues1 = context.StatusValues1; context.Load(context.GetMyStatusValues2()).Completed += (s1, e1) => { this.StatusValues2 = context.StatusValues2; context.Load(context.GetMyStatusValues3Query()).Completed += (s2, e2) => { this.StatusValues3 = context.StatusValues3; (....and so on) }; }; }; }; While this works fine, it seems a bit nasty. Also, I would like to know when the last loadoperation completes so that I can load whatever entity I want to work on after this, so that these enumerated values resolve properly in form elements like comboboxes and listboxes. (I think) I can't do this easily above without creating a delegate and calling that on the completion of the last loadoperation. So my question is: does anyone out there know a better pattern to use, ideally where I can load all my static entitysets in a single LoadOperation?

Problem with GWT behind a reverse proxy - either nginx or apache

I'm having this problem with GWT when it's behind a reverse proxy. The backend app is deployed within a context - let's call it /context. The GWT app works fine when I hit it directly: http://host:8080/context/ I can configure a reverse proxy in front it it. Here's my nginx example: upstream backend { server 127.0.0.1:8080; } ... location / { proxy_pass http://backend/context/; } But, when I run through the reverse proxy, GWT gets confused, saying: 2009-10-04 14:05:41.140:/:WARN: Login: ERROR: The serialization policy file '/C7F5ECA5E3C10B453290DE47D3BE0F0E.gwt.rpc' was not found; did you forget to include it in this deployment? 2009-10-04 14:05:41.140:/:WARN: Login: WARNING: Failed to get the SerializationPolicy 'C7F5ECA5E3C10B453290DE47D3BE0F0E' for module 'https://hostname:444/'; a legacy, 1.3.3 compatible, serialization policy will be used. A workaround is to add the context to the url for the web site: location /context/ { proxy_pass http://backend/context/; } but that means the context is now part of the url that the user sees, and that's ugly. Anybody know how to make GWT happy in this case? Software versions: GWT - 1.7.0 (same problem with 1.7.1) Jetty - 6.1.21 (but the same problem existed under tomcat) nginx - 0.7.62 (same problem under apache 2.x) I've looked at the traffic between the proxy and the backend using DonsProxy, but there's nothing noteworthy there.

Can you have multiple clipping regions in an HTML Canvas?

I have code that loads a bunch of images into hidden img elements and then a Javascript loop which places each image onto the canvas. However, I want to clip each image so that it is a circle when placed on the canvas. ListBox selector odd behavior when there are dupes

I'm working on a bigger project atm, but I made this simple example to show you what happens.. using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Windows; namespace txt { public partial class MainWindow { public MainWindow() { InitializeComponent(); } private void Window_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { var obsLst = new List<Info> { new Info { name = "asd" }, new Info { name = "asd" }, new Info { name = "asd" }, new Info { name = "asd" } }; var temp = new List<Info>(); for (var i = 1; i <= 3; i++) { temp.Add(obsLst[0]); //I add 3 of the same item from obsLst to temp } lst.DataContext = temp; //lst = ListBox } } public class Info { public string name { get; set; } } } The ListBox ItemsSource is set to {Binding}.. When I start the application I get 3 txt.Info objects displayed and if I click any of them, 2 or even all of them get selected aswell. From my understanding the problem relies in the fact that the listbox selector cannot differentiate between the items and therefor doesn't know which one I selected. Here's a picture of what it looks like.. I only clicked on the second txt.Info item. I found a solution where someone said that I have to specify the DisplayMemberPath, but I can't really do that in the other project because I have a datatemplate for the object. Any ideas on how I could fix this would be great.. Thx in advance.

PyParsing: Not all tokens passed to setParseAction()

I'm parsing sentences like "CS 2110 or INFO 3300". I would like to output a format like: [[("CS" 2110)], [("INFO", 3300)]] To do this, I thought I could use setParseAction(). How does the CheckBox obtain it's respective drawables?

The CheckBox class extends the CompoundButton, but add nothing to it. But some how it obtains it's respective look. I understand how the drawable assigned to Widget.CompoundButton.CheckBox style, but how this style assigned to CheckBox class? I see the ".CheckBox" in the style name, but is this naming convention really what makes the trick? If so, what are the rules? If I derive MyCheckBox from CompoundButton, can I just define the Widget.CompoundButton.MyCheckBox style and it will work?

Writing csv file in asp.net

Hello, I'm trying to export data to a csv file, as there are chinese characters in the data i had to use unicode.. but after adding the preamble for unicode, the commas are not recognized as delimiters and all data are now written to the first column. Three apps going through apache. How to configure apache httpd? [migrated]

I have a quick question but I've been struggling to find the best solution: I have two java webapps and wordpress (php) that I need to serve through my Prod website: App #1 should be accessed when pointing to www.example.com/ (this would have other url too such as "www.example.com/book") App #2 should be accessed when pointing to www.example.com/manage Finally WordPress would be accessed at www.example.com/info How can I configure apache to serve all these three instances at the same time? So far I have and it's not quite working right. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Ubuntu missing from the Grub menu

Recently I've had some audio issues with Ubuntu (using precise), and in the process of trying to resolve that I ran a dist-upgrade. Everything went just fine, and the sound seemed good, until I rebooted my machine for the first time since the dist-upgrade. All I see now in the Grub menu at startup is memtest86+, another memtest variant, and Windows 7. It's not showing any of the linux kernels that Ubuntu is running on. I run a SmartOS system on a Hetzner EX4S (Intel Core i7-2600, 32G RAM, 2x3Tb SATA HDD). We do not have physical or virtual access to the server console - no KVM, no iLO or anything like this. So, the only way to debug is to analyze crash dumps/log files. I am not a SmartOS/Solaris expert so I am not sure how to proceed. Is there any equivalent of Linux netconsole for SmartOS? Can I just redirect the console output to the network port somehow? Maybe I am missing something obvious and crash information is located somewhere else.

Looking at this answer, however, I find that /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/info (sometimes its /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info, use tab complete to help) has the following info: present: yes design capacity: 4400 mAh last full capacity: 4400 mAh battery technology: rechargeable design voltage: 11100 mV design capacity warning: 300 mAh design capacity low: 132 mAh cycle count: 0 capacity granularity 1: 32 mAh capacity granularity 2: 32 mAh model number: BAT1 serial number: 11 battery type: 11 OEM info: 11 In accordance to this answer, I've checked the /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state file: present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: charged present rate: unknown remaining capacity: unknown present voltage: 10000 mV The acpi -b command returns: Battery 0: Unknown, 0%, rate information unavailable Any suggestions on getting the battery info updated?

C socket programming: select() is returning 0 despite messages sent from server

Hey all, I'm using select() to recv() messages from server, using TCP/IP. When I send() messages from the server, it returns a reasonable number of bytes, saying it's sent successful. And it does get to the client successfully when I use while loop to just recv(). Everything is fine and dandy. while(1) recv() // obviously pseudocode However, when I try to use select(), select() returns 0 from timeout (which is set to 1 second) and for the life of me I cannot figure out why it doesn't see the messages sent from the server. I should also mention that when the server disconnects, select() doesn't see that either, where as if I were to use recv(), it would return 0 to indicate that the connection using the socket has been closed.
