  • Why won't Silverlight handle the conversion of my custom float property

    In a Silverlight 4 project I have a class that extends Canvas: public class AppendageCanvas : Canvas { public float Friction { get; set; } public float Restitution { get; set; } public float Density { get; set; } } I use this canvas in Blend by dragging it onto another control and setting the custom properties: When I run the app, I get the following error when InitializeComponent is called on the control containing my custom canvas: I'm not sure why Silverlight isn't able to convert this property from it's string representation in Xaml, to the float that it is. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Wikipedia A* pathfinding algorithm takes a lot of time

    I've successfully implemented A* pathfinding in C# but it is very slow, and I don't understand why. I even tried not sorting the openNodes list but it's still the same. The map is 80x80, and there are 10-11 nodes.   • Data table to Excel conversion leaves my server side button non responsive in SharePoint WebPart

    We have a web part on which we display some data in a grid. We are exporting grid's underlying datatable to Excel and displaying Open - Save - Cancel dialouge box on click of a server side button. Following is the code we are executing on click of server side button. this.Page.Response.Clear(); this.Page.Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=MyTasks.xls"); this.Page.Response.ContentType = "application/ms-excel"; this.Page.Response.Write("...here goes my well formated html...."); this.Page.Response.End(); Problem is that when i click on Cancel in the diaglouge box then dialogue box to Open/Save excel disappears but all the server side buttons placed on my web part becomes non responsive, on click of any of those buttons their server side click event does not get fired !!! Any idea ? Thanks.

    Does anyone have a code snippet or a class that will take a long long and turn it into a 16 byte Hex string? I'm looking to turn data like this long long decimalRepresentation = 1719886131591410351; and turn it into this //Base 16 Hex Output: 17DE435307A07300 The %x operator doesn't want to work for me NSLog(@"Hex: %x",decimalRepresentation); //console : "Hex: 7a072af" As you can see that's not even close.     i'm making my 1st game. i'm using javascript as i currently want to learn to make games without needing to learn another language but this is more of a general game dev question its a 2d turn-based tile/grid game. you can check it here http://www.patinterotest.tk/ it creates a movable area when you hover a player and it implements the A* algo for moving the player. The Problem: i want to make the 'dynamic movable area creation' already implement a limited number of steps for a player. The Questions: what is a good way to do this? is there another algorithm to use for this? the A* algorithm needs a start and destination, with what i want to do i don't have a destination or should i just limit the iteration of the A* algo to the steps variable? hopefully you understand the problem & questions easily

  • Inverted colours in tiff to PDF conversion

    Our company has a very large public Java API which is currently being released standalone and online using (of course) JavaDoc. It is surrounded by product documentation which links into the API. We are moving our static documentation to DokuWiki - which works pretty good - and want to keep the links. Now it would be good to have a method (or doclet) that exports the JavaDoc directly into DokuWiki - or a very near alternative. Question: Is there something like this or do you know a method to do just that?

  • How to change harddrive spindown time?

    if I run my notebook on battery mode, ubuntu spindown my hardrive every few seconds. How can I fix that? I have tried it with sudo hdparm -S 127 /dev/sda* but I am not able to disable the spindown and can´t find the reason for this "bug". Running Ubuntu 12.04 - Bug is since 12.04 Recent updates are installed, the problem is still recent. I can change the settings via. sudo hdparm -B 127 but if I change hdparm.conf, Ubuntu does not recognize it. /dev/sda { apm_battery=127 }

    I have a web service implemented as EJB. One of it's methods returns Map<String,String>. On client side I use php : $client = new SoapClient($wsdl,array("cache_wsdl"=>WSDL_CACHE_NONE)); $result = $client->foo($params); Everything works fine, but I would like $result-return to be an associative array. Now it looks like array(10) { [0]=> object(stdClass)#46 (2) { ["key"]=> string(4) "key1" ["value"]=> string(4) "val1" } .... I want array(10) {"key1"=>"value1", "key2"=>"value2", .... } The obvious solution is to iterate through this array and create a new array $arr = array(); foreach ($result->return as $val) $arr[$val->key] = $val->value; But I wonder if there is a better way to get an assosicative array ?   • Avoid implicit conversion from date to timestamp for selects with Oracle using Hibernate

    I'm using Hibernate 3.2.7.GA criteria queries to select rows from an Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4.0 database, filtering by a timestamp field. The field in question is of type java.util.Date in Java, and DATE in Oracle. It turns out that the field gets mapped to java.sql.Timestamp, and Oracle converts all rows to TIMESTAMP before comparing to the passed in value, bypassing the index and thereby ruining performance. One solution would be to use Hibernate's sqlRestriction() along with Oracle's TO_DATE function. That would fix performance, but requires rewriting the application code (lots of queries). So is there a more elegant solution? Since Hibernate already does type mapping, could it be configured to do the right thing? Update: The problem occurs in a variety of configurations, but here's one specific example: Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4.0 Oracle JDBC Driver 11.1.0.7.0 Hibernate 3.2.7.GA Hibernate's Oracle10gDialect Java 1.6.0_16

I know the hg convert command can be used to "convert" a Mercurial repository to a Mercurial repository. Can I use it to do nothing on the repos but fix the line endings?

  • At the time of installing ubuntu, i am getting dark black screen only

    I am trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS dual boot with Windows 7, but when i click on Try or even Install ubuntu, i am getting black screen only. I can't see any text or anything else. When i see my Laptop's screen from close look, ubuntu in the middle of screen shown but screen is dark black. So because of this i am unable to install Ubuntu on my laptop. Please help in this regard. Following deatails of my laptop. Details of my Laptop: Manufacturer- Acer Aspire 4736 Processor- Intel core 2 duo CPU T660 Graphics driver- Mobile Intel(R) 4 series express chipset family (Microsoft corporation - WDDM 1.1), Current version installed- 8.15.10.2302 In ubuntu 11.04 i know how to boot into nomodeset, but i don't know how to boot through nomodeset in ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Because there is no option shown for F6 key. My laptop is Acer aspire 4736, and my Video/Graphics card shows unknown by ubuntu. Please someone help me. Can changing or upgrading my laptop's graphic card solve this problem..?? If yes then, which graphic card should i go for which is supported by Ubuntu and other Linux distros? Please someone help.
