  I'm trying to write some Elisp code to format a bunch of legacy files. The idea is that if a file contains a section like "<meta name=\"keywords\" content=\"\\(.*?\\)\" />", then I want to insert a section that contains existing keywords. If that section is not found, I want to insert my own default keywords into the same section. I've got the following function: (defun get-keywords () (re-search-forward "<meta name=\"keywords\" content=\"\\(.*?\\)\" />") (goto-char 0) ;The section I'm inserting will be at the beginning of the file (or (march-string 1) "Rubber duckies and cute ponies")) ;;or whatever the default keywords are When the function fails to find its target, it returns Search failed: "[regex here]" and prevents the rest of evaluation. Is there a way to have it return the default string, and ignore the error?

• DataTable C# Empty column type

  I am trying build a DataTable one row at a time using the following code. foreach (var e in Project.ProjectElements[hi.FakeName].Root.Elements()) { index = 0; object[] obj=new object[count]; foreach (var holdingColumn in names) { string d = e.Attribute(holdingColumn.Key).Value; obj[index++] = d; } dt.Rows.Add(obj); } The problem is the DataTable has types tied to the columns. Sometimes im passing null (or an empty string) in that object index and it is telling me that it cant be converted properly to a DateTime (in this case). My question is what should I default this value to, or is there some way to have the DataTable ignore empty values.

• Odd results when searching for numbers using IXSSO.Query

  Hi, from classic asp on Windows 2008, using an IXSSO.Query, when searching for a string of numbers, for example 10000000001, I receive results that also include variations to this, like 10000000002 10000000003 and so on. If I change the first digit so the search string is 20000000001 I dont get anything. If I keep moving the last digit from my first example to the left, I keep getting hits until I reach the half way point when I get no results! So in other words 10000020000 will return results like in the first example but 10000200000 does not. This all sounds like to me that its doing a match on the first 6 characters and it ignores the rest... Here is relevant parts of the Set oQuery = Server.CreateObject("IXSSO.Query") oQuery.Catalog = SEARCH_CATALOG oQuery.Query = "@all " & searchstr Set oRS = oQuery.CreateRecordset("nonsequential") Anyone got any ideas and/or suggestions? • Write Scheme data structures so they can be eval-d back in, or alternative

  I'm writing an application (A juggling pattern animator) in PLT Scheme that accepts Scheme expressions as values for some fields. I'm attempting to write a small text editor that will let me "explode" expressions into expressions that can still be eval'd but contain the data as literals for manual tweaking. For example, (4hss->sexp "747") is a function call that generates a legitimate pattern. If I eval and print that, it becomes (((7 3) - - -) (- - (4 2) -) (- (7 2) - -) (- - - (7 1)) ((4 0) - - -) (- - (7 0) -) (- (7 2) - -) (- - - (4 3)) ((7 3) - - -) (- - (7 0) -) (- (4 1) - -) (- - - (7 1))) which can be "read" as a string, but will not "eval" the same as the function. For this statement, of course, what I need would be as simple as (quote (((7 3... but other examples are non-trivial. This one, for example, contains structs which print as vectors: pair-of-jugglers ; --> (#(struct:hand #(struct:position -0.35 2.0 1.0) #(struct:position -0.6 2.05 1.1) 1.832595714594046) #(struct:hand #(struct:position 0.35 2.0 1.0) #(struct:position 0.6 2.0500000000000003 1.1) 1.308996938995747) #(struct:hand #(struct:position 0.35 -2.0 1.0) #(struct:position 0.6 -2.05 1.1) -1.3089969389957472) #(struct:hand #(struct:position -0.35 -2.0 1.0) #(struct:position -0.6 -2.05 1.1) -1.8325957145940461)) I've thought of at least three possible solutions, none of which I like very much. There (probably...) won't be any circular references by the nature of the data structures used, so that wouldn't be such a long job. The output would end up looking like `(((3 0) (... ; ex 1 `(,(make-hand (make-position ... ; ex 2 Or even worse if I could't figure out how to do it properly with quasiquoting. Solution B would be to write out everything as (read (open-input-string "(big-long-s-expression)")) which, technically, solves the problem I'm bringing up but is... ugly. Solution C might be a different approach of giving up eval and using only read for parsing input, or an uglier approach where the s-expression is used as directly data if eval fails, but those both seem unpleasant compared to using scheme values directly. Undiscovered Solution D would be a PLT Scheme option, function or library I haven't located that would match Solution A. Help me out before I start having bad recursion dreams again.

• Call a macro every time any method is called - Objective C

  Hi, I wrote a debug macro that prints to the console the passed-in string whenever the global kDebug flag == YES. I need to print out the name of a method and it's classname whenever any method is called. That works fine when i painstakingly go through every method and write the name of the class and the method in a string. Is there any special handler that gets called when any method in Objective-C is called, and if so, is there a way i can somehow override it to call my debug macro?? The entire purpose of this is so that I don't have to go through every method in my code and hand-code the method signature in the debug macro call. Thanks

• Using a boost::fusion::map in boost::spirit::karma

  I am using boost spirit to parse some text files into a data structure and now I am beginning to generate text from this data structure (using spirit karma). One attempt at a data structure is a boost::fusion::map (as suggested in an answer to this question). But although I can use boost::spirit::qi::parse() and get data in it easily, when I tried to generate text from it using karma, I failed. Below is my attempt (look especially at the "map_data" type). After some reading and playing around with other fusion types, I found boost::fusion::vector and BOOST_FUSION_DEFINE_ASSOC_STRUCT.   I am developing a coverage data tool in eclipse cdt. I used gcov and build and execute my C program to generate .gcda and .gcno files. When double click on .gcda file to see the coverage data, below error message displays. An error has occurred. • basic boost date_time input format question

  I've got a pointer to a string, (char *) as input. The date/time looks like this: Sat, 10 Apr 2010 19:30:00 I'm only interested in the date, not the time. I created an "input_facet" with the format I want: boost::date_time::date_input_facet inFmt("%a %d %b %Y"); but I'm not sure what to do with it. Ultimately I'd like to create a date object from the string. I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track with that input facet and format, but I have no idea how to use it. Thanks.

  Hi there guys I'm new to LINQ and I'm trying to check whether a TEXT column is null or empty (as String.IsNullOrEmpty). from c in ... ... select new { c.Id, HasBio = !String.IsNullOrEmpty(c.bio) } Trying to use the above query produces an SqlException: Argument data type text is invalid for argument 1 of len function. The SQL generated is similar to the following: CASE WHEN ( NOT (([Extent2].[bio] IS NULL) OR (( CAST(LEN([Extent2].[bio]) AS int)) = 0))) THEN cast(1 as bit) WHEN (([Extent2].[bio] IS NULL) OR (( CAST(LEN([Extent2].[bio]) AS int)) = 0)) THEN cast(0 as bit) END AS [C1] LEN is not applicable to TEXT columns. I know DATALENGTH should be used for them... How can I force LINQ to produce such thing? Or any other workaround to test if a text column is null or empty??? Thanks!

  Does the same connection string used on two different physical servers hosting different web applications that talk to the same database draw connections from the same connection pool? Or are pooled connections confined to at the application level? I ask because I inherited a 7 year old .NET 1.1 web application which is riddled with in-line SQL, unclosed and undisposed sql connection and datareader objects. Recently, I was tasked to write a small web app that is hosted on another server and talks to the same database and therefore used the same database connection string. I created a LINQ object to read and write the one table required by the app. Now the original .NET 1.1 app is throwing exceptions like "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached." Maybe these are unreleated, but wanted to get your opinions to make sure I cover all my bases. Thanks!

Because I was worried about the out-of-the-box logging system's performance. Then I made some test. Especially with log4j. Don't forget that: in every cycle the run method not just log into the file, it has to concatenate strings (name + ": " + i), and check an if test (i == 9999). When threadsNumber is 10, there are 100.000 loggings and if tests and concatenations. When it is 100, there are 1.000.000 loggings and if tests and concatenations. (I've read somewhere JVM uses StringBuilder's append for concatenation, not simple concatenation). Did I missed something? Am I doing something wrong? Did I forget any factor that could decrease the performance? If these figures are correct I think, I don't have to worry about log4j's performance even if I heavily log, do I?

  I have this code currently, string defaultNamingContext; DirectoryEntry rootDSE = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://RootDSE"); defaultNamingContext = rootDSE.Properties["defaultNamingContext"].Value.ToString(); rootDSE = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + defaultNamingContext); //DirectoryEntry domain = new DirectoryEntry((string)"LDAP://" + defaultNamingContext); DirectorySearcher ouSearch = new DirectorySearcher(rootDSE,"(objectCategory=Organizational-Unit)", null, SearchScope.Subtree); MessageBox.Show(rootDSE.Path.ToString()); try { SearchResultCollection collectedResult = ouSearch.FindAll(); foreach (SearchResult temp in collectedResult) { comboBox1.Items.Add(temp.Properties["name"][0]); DirectoryEntry ou = temp.GetDirectoryEntry(); } } When i use the debugger i can see that rootDSE.Path is infact pointing to the right place, in this case "DC=g-t-p,DC=Local" but the directory searcher doesn't find any results. Can anyone help?
