• Handling PHP exceptions with JQuery

  Hello, I'm using JQuery to call a PHP function that returns a JSON string upon success or throws some exceptions. Currently I'm calling jQuery.parseJSON() on the response and if it fails I assume the response contains an exception string. $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "something.php", success: function(response){ try { var json = jQuery.parseJSON(response); } catch (e) { alert(response); return -1; } // ... do stuff with json } Can anyone suggest a more elegant way to catch the exception? • Lua : Dynamically calling a function with arguments.

  Using Lua, I'm trying to dynamically call a function with parameters. I want to send a string to be parsed in a way that: 1st argument is a class instance "Handle" 2nd is the function to be called All that is left are arguments "modules" is a a table like { string=<instance of a class> } split() is a simple parser that returns a table with indexed strings. function Dynamic(msg) local args = split(msg, " ") module = args[1] table.remove(args, 1) if module then module = modules[module] command = args[1] table.remove(args, 1) if command then if not args then module[command]() else module[command](unpack(args)) -- Reference 1 end else -- Function doesnt exist end else -- Module doesnt exist end end When I try this with "ignore remove bob", by "Reference 1", it tries to call "remove" on the instance associated with "ignore" in modules, and gives the argument "bob", contained in a table (with a single value). However, on the other side of the call, the remove function does not receive the argument. I even tried to replace the "Reference 1" line with module[command]("bob") but I get the same result.

• find window text and save txt to file named that wont work.

• ora-00939 error in reporting services, SSRS

  Hi, I have an SSRS report , Oracle is my backend and am using this following query for dataset of my second parameter. select distinct X from v_stf_sec_user_staffing_center usc where usc.center_group_id in ( select distinct center_group_id from V_T_STAFFING_CENTER_GROUP scg where INSTR(','||REPLACE(:PI_REGION_LIST,' ')||',', ','||scg.group_abbreviation||',') 0) and usc.nt_user_name=:PI_NT_USER_NAME Here PI_REGION_LIST is a multivalued parameter of string type. and PI_NT_USER_NAME is a default string valued parameter this query works fine when i try to execute in manulally in the Data tab , also in the Oracle tool. But when i run the report in SSRS and select more than 3 values for the parameter PI_REGION_LIST the report throws an error on this dataset, ora-00939 error,too many arguments for function. I am not able to figure out the error here. Please help me with an idea. Thanks in advance, Suni.

  I am using Heroku with a Ruby on Rails application, and running from Safari. I have the following Ajax call: $.ajax({ type : 'POST', url : '/test_page', data : {stuff: arr1}, dataType : 'script' }); arr1 is supposed to be an array of objects. There's a console.log right before that, and it is: [Object, Object, Object, Object, Object, ...] However, I got an error on the server side when I made this ajax call. It's really confusing to me - what would cause that string to sometimes be passed to the server instead of the object?

• Android spinner inside a custom control - OnItemSelectedListener does not trigger

  I am writing a custom control that extends LinearLayout. Inside that control I am using a spinner to let the user select an item from a list. The problem I have is that the OnItemSelectedListener event does not fire. When moving the same code to an Activity/Fragment all is working just fine. I have followed some answers that was given to others asking about the same issue, and nothing helped. still the event does not fire. This is my code after I followed the answers that suggested to put the spinner inside my layout XML instead of by code. I have a c# class CategoryType public class CategoryType { public string Value{get;set;} public string Name{get;set;} } My aim is to convert the reponses in to Collection<CategoryType> and use it in my C# Code As of now I am trying to use DataContractJSONSerialiser. But not sure if there is an easy and efficent way to do this. Any help would be appreciated

• When is a scala partial function not a partial function?

  While creating a map of String to partial functions I ran into unexpected behavior. When I create a partial function as a map element it works fine. When I allocate to a val it invokes instead. Trying to invoke the check generates an error. Is this expected? Am I doing something dumb? Comment out the check() to see the invocation.   What is the "dispatcher" pattern and how would I implement it in code? I have a property bag of generic objects and would like to have the retrieval delegated to a generic method.   I am just looking into using HTML Purifier to ensure that a user-inputed string (that represents the name of a person) is sanitized. I do not want to allow any html tags, script, markup etc - I just want the alpha, numeric and normal punctuation characters. The sheer number of options available for HTML Purifier is daunting and, as far as i can see, the docs do not seem to have a beggining/middle or end see: http://htmlpurifier.org/docs Is there a simple hello world tutorial online that shows how to sanitize a string removing all the bad stuff out of it.   I am attempting to consume a SOAP service provided by our Cisco phone system (documentation), to get the current status of a given set of phones. • Checking if an int is prime more efficiently

  I recently was part of a small java programming competition at my school. My partner and I have just finished our first pure oop class and most of the questions were out of our league so we settled on this one (and I am paraphrasing somewhat): "given an input integer n return the next int that is prime and its reverse is also prime for example if n = 18 your program should print 31" because 31 and 13 are both prime. Your .class file would then have a test case of all the possible numbers from 1-2,000,000,000 passed to it and it had to return the correct answer within 10 seconds to be considered valid. We found a solution but with larger test cases it would take longer than 10 seconds. I am fairly certain there is a way to move the range of looping from n,..2,000,000,000 down as the likely hood of needing to loop that far when n is a low number is small, but either way we broke the loop when a number is prime under both conditions is found. At first we were looping from 2,..n no matter how large it was then i remembered the rule about only looping to the square root of n. Any suggestions on how to make my program more efficient? I have had no classes dealing with complexity analysis of algorithms. • Are delegates copied during assignment to an event?

  Hi, running Sinatra 1.0, I wanted to add a database table to my program. In my Rakefile I have a task task :environment do ActiveRecord::Base.establish_connection(YAML::load(File.open('config/database.yml'))["development"]) end I have a migration task in my namespace that calls the migration code: namespace :related_products do desc "run any migrations we may have in db/migrate" task :migrate => :environment do ActiveRecord::Migrator.migrate('db/migrate', ENV["VERSION"] ? ENV["VERSION"].to_i : nil ) end My console pukes out an error when the call to ActiveRecord::MIgrator.migrate() is made. rake aborted! undefined method `info' for nil:NilClass The migration code itself is pretty simple... and presents me with no clues as to what this missing info class is. class CreateStores < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up create_table :stores do |t| t.string :name t.string :access_url t.timestamps end end def self.down drop_table :stores end end I am a little mystified here and am looking for some clues as to what might be wrong. • sqlite no such table

  can anyone please help. I've seen many people with the same problem and looked at all suggestions but still cannot get this to work. I have tried to unistall the application and install again, I have tried to change the version number and start again. I've debugged the code and it does go into the onCreate function, but when I go to make a select query it says the users table does not exist. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
