• ANDROID. Emulate Hardware Keys with an IME. Doesn't work with Dialog and Spinner

  I have understand that the only way to inject KeyEvents in the Android System is to implement an Input Method. I have created my IME with the purpose to control from remote the device. I emulate the hardware keys using the method private void keyDownUp(int keyEventCode) { getCurrentInputConnection().sendKeyEvent( new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, keyEventCode)); getCurrentInputConnection().sendKeyEvent( new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_UP, keyEventCode)); } in my class that extends InputMethodService. It works fine until an AlertDialog, or the menu of a Spinner comes in foreground. Also the windows that appears when the Menu key is problematic. My IME can't get focus on them, and the keyevents are sent to the activity behind them. Using hardware keys, the Dialog get the focus and you can select the botton on the Dialog. How can i emulate that, using the IME(or anything else)?

• Get the BindingSource position based on DataTable row

  I have a datatable that contains the rows of a database table. This table has a primary key formed by 2 columns. The components are assigned this way: datatable - bindingsource - datagridview. What I want is to search a specific row (based on the primary key) to select it on the grid. I cant use the bindingsource.Find method because you only can use one column. I have access to the datatable, so I do manually search on the datatable, but how can I get bindingsource row position based on the datatable row? Or there is another way to solve this? Im using Visual Studio 2005, VB.NET.

  I'm querying an underlying PostgreSQL database using Pandas 0.8. Pandas is returning the DataFrame properly but the underlying timestamp column in my database is being returned as a generic "object" type in Pandas. As I would eventually like to seasonal normalization of my data I am curious as to how to convert this generic "object" column to something that is appropriate for analysis.   I have very simple named query on JPA (toplink ): UPDATE Server s SET s.isECM = 0 I don't carry about cache or validity of already preloaded entities. But database connection is performed from restricted account (only INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE). • jquery iterating through newly created elements

  Hi All, I am trying to add new rows in my table, and save them into DB. First, I use .append() to append rows on the table: $("#tablename").append("<tr id='newRow'><td>newly added row</td></tr>"); The appending function works fine. My page displays the correct result. However, I am unable to select them with $("#newRow").each(function () { alert "it never reaches here!"; }); I am guessing it is because the elements are added after the DOM is loaded. Can anyone please tell me how I can iterate through all my newly added elements? Thank you.

• Code is exectuting but the view is not loading when called form a function?

  I have a viewBased application with the viewController class mainView. In it I am loading various views(different nibs) depending upon certain actions that I do. I have added a popoverController with a barbutton in the mainView. Its intialized with a tableviewController class named popClass. When I select certain row in the popover, I want the view in my mainView to load someother view(as I do when i do certain actions). For that I have written a function in mainView Controller class and is calling it from the popOver class. Function and the lines of code are executing but nothing is happening. Even the log lines are printed but no action takes place. What is the problem? OR is there anyother way to make the view change in mainView by using the popover?

• Hibernate Criteria: Return different entity type than rooted entity?

  I have entities similar to: ProductLine: id, name ProductLineContents: content_id, product_line_id Content: id, text, updated_time What I'd like to do is: for each product line, get the latest content (so if theres two content entries associated to one product line, the latest updated_time is rturned, and if one content item is associated to two product lines, it is returned twice). Something similar to: select content.* from productline inner join productlinecontents inner join content; However I can't seem to figure out how to have Hibernate Criteria return a different entity than the original one it was created with. So if I wanted to start the criteria at the product line with createCriteria(ProductLine.class) along with the proper joins, then it only returns ProductLine objects, but I need Content objects. What's the best way to accomplish this? The actual data model is much more complex and can't be modified

All I wanted to do was to have the value of the users 'fullname' displayed in the header section of my web page. So I am outputting this code immediately after to try and achieve this: echo 'Hello '; echo $row['fullname']; Before this change, I had it working perfectly, where the session variable of fullname was echoed $_SESSION['SESS_NAME']. However, because my user can update their information (including their name), I wanted the name displayed in the header to be updated accordingly, and not displaying the session value.

  I have a Vote domain class from my grails application containing properties like article_id and note I want to HQL query the Vote domain class in order to retrieve the 5 best rated articles having at least 10 votes. I tried : SELECT v.article_id, avg(v.note), count(*) FROM vote v where count(*) >= 10 group by v.article_id order by avg(v.note) desc limit 5; But unfortunately the insertion of where count(*) >= 10 throws an error.   I have a three models: listing, category, and site. There is a many to many relationship between listing and site and there is a many to many relationship between listing and category. A listing thus belongs to one or more sites and one or more categories (a listing can appear on multiple sites and multiple categories). Given a site id and a category id, I want a set of all the listings. I understand how to get the listings from a site id (listings = site.listings) and how to get the listings from a category id (listings = category.listings), but how do I get the triple join of the set of listings from both a site id and category id? The sql would look something like (sit_id and cat_id are input): select l.name from listings l, categories_listings cl, listings_sites, ls where cl.category_id = cat_id and ls.site_id = sit_id and cl.listing_id = l.id and ls.listing_id = l.id Thanks in advance

• Is it possible to shrink rt.jar with ProGuard?

  Is there a procedure by which you can optimize/shrink/select/obfuscate only 'used by your app' classes/methods/fields from rt.jar provided by Sun by using some optimization software like ProGuard (or maybe other?). Then you would actually be able to minimize the download size of your application considerably and make it much more secure ? Right? Related questions: Do you know if Sun's "jigsaw project" which is waited to come out, is intended to automatically handle this particular issue? • Why does SQLite not bring back any results from my database

  This is my first SQLite based iPhone app and I am trying to get it to read a menu hierarchy from my database. At the moment I am thinking of passing a parameter in to SQL query and count the characters one by one and then sum, however I did not start the VBA part yet, and frankly wouldn't want to do that. • I have a SID of a user account, and I want the SIDs of the groups it belongs to. (C#)

  This has to be obtained from a remote machine. The following query works not for SIDs, but for group and account names. "SELECT GroupComponent FROM Win32_GroupUser WHERE PartComponent = \"Win32_UserAccount.Domain='" + accountDomain + "',Name='" + accountName + "'\"" The Win32_Group objects it returns come in the forms of strings, and they only have domain and name (even though Win32_Group has a SID property). I have this sinking feeling I'll have to: Turn the SID into an account name by querying Win32_SID; Perform the query above; Turn each of the resulting group names into SIDs by querying Win32_Group. PLEASE tell me there's a better way.

  Hi I am using the GNU-Emacs-23 editor. I have this huge text file containing about 10,000 lines which I want to chop into multiple files. Using the mouse to select the required text to paste in another file is the really painful. Also this is prone to errors too. If I want to divide the text file according to the line numbers into say 4 file where first file:lines 1-2500 second file:lines 2500-5000 third file :lines 5000-7500 fourth file: lines: 7500-10000 how do I do this? At the very least, is there any efficient way to copy large regions of the file just by specifying line numbers

  I'm a part-time designer/developer with a part-time photography business. I've got a database of photos with various bits of metadata attached. I want to query the database and return a list of the years that photos were taken, and the quantity of photos that were taken in that year. In short, I want a list that looks like this: 2010 (35 photos) 2009 (67 photos) 2008 (48 photos) Here's the query I'm using: SELECT YEAR(date) AS year, COUNT(filename) as quantity FROM photos WHERE visible='1' GROUP BY 'year' ORDER BY 'year' DESC Instead of churning out all the possible years (the database includes photos from 2010-2008), this is the sole result: 2010 (35 photos) I've tried a lot of different syntax but at this point I'm giving in and asking for help!
