  • Check if NSURL is Local File

    This is a pretty simple question- how can I check if a NSURL is linking to a local file? I know, RTFM, but I checked the documentation and I don't seem to see any methods related to this. The only methods I did find were -isFileReferenceURL and -isFileURL, but I think these only check if the URL directly links to a file. note: I'm making an iPhone app, so by "local file" I mean a .html file stored in the project's resources. Thanks for any help in advance.

    Hi, In my app, I want to find/calculate the audio frequency as dynamically when i am recording an audio and no need to save, play and all. Now i am trying to do that with help of an aurioToch sample code. In that sample, inside FFTBufferManager class methods such as GrabAudioData and ComputeFFT,Here I am not able to find where they are calculating frequency value as dynamically depends on the audio sound and I spent more than 5 days.please help me.

    I have concerns about the performance of the following architecture: j2ee application in an appserver, ejb session bean and DAOs remote (rich) client, a swing app. A classic, form-based client only one stateless ejb, the ejb is accessed via web services, not rmi, through a homegrown framework each web service request will get authenticated against an LDAP no state stored on the server, only client-side sessions I guess working on the rich GUI will involve a remote call in every 2-10 seconds, or more, per user. What do you think?

  • Rails: vendor/gems or vendor/plugins?

    I'm attempting to track my dependencies with git-submodules in my rails app. So far I've added submodules for things like, haml, shoulda, authlogic, etc to 'vendor/plugins'. I've seen indications that I should be using 'vendor/gems' instead though. Question, which directory is the appropriate place to put dependencies being tracked as submodules? Is the choice arbitrary?   • How to make sure that Parameters have been updated in a Dataset Provider

    In a Delphi app we have assigned a dataset provider with a TADOQuery, passing parameters to the Query. When the TADOQuery is refreshed with new parameter values these are not being passed to the Dataset Provider. This seemed to work ok in Delphi 5, but we are migrating our application to Delphi 2010 and it seems to have broken this link. Is there a way of refreshing the parameters against the dataset provider with the new values?

    Hi there, Is there a specific version of .Net that I can target that is bundled with all versions of Windows of XP SP2 and higher? We are trying to create a simple setup stub without having to resort to a low-level C/C++ app... currently something is cooked up in VB6, but there's a fair amount of low-level network code that I would much rather rewrite in .Net -- which would be trivial if only we could rely on the presence of a given version.

    I am trying to get a basic Rails application to run on my Mac OS X 10.6.5. I created a new app called demo (rails new demo), then went into the demo directory and tried to start the app with rails server. No definition for libversion Enclosing class/module 'mSqlite3' for class Statement not known " I had rails running well on my system a few months ago, so I figured maybe I had some duplicates and it was trying to use the wrong one. I ran: "for cmd in ruby irb gem rake; do which $cmd; done" and got: "/opt/local/bin/ruby /opt/local/bin/irb /opt/local/bin/gem /opt/local/bin/rake" Checking where sqlite3 also gets me: "/opt/local/bin/sqlite3" so they all seem to be in the right place. Obviously /opt/local/bin is in my system path. If I check gems server, it shows that I have installed sqlite3-ruby 1.3.2 gem. Not sure what the problem could be? I am using ruby 1.8.7 (2010-12-23 patchlevel 330) [i686-darwin10]. Macports claims this is the latest (although ive seen 1.9.1) One more thing-- in irb, I tried to check which version of sqlite3 my sqlite3-ruby is bound to, but I can only get this far: ":irb(main):001:0 require 'rubygems' = true irb(main):002:0 require 'sqlite3' /Users/dpetrovi/.gem/ruby/1.8/gems/sqlite3-ruby-1.3.2/lib/sqlite3/sqlite3_native.bundle: [BUG] Segmentation fault ruby 1.8.7 (2010-12-23 patchlevel 330) [i686-darwin10] Abort trap" Any suggestions?   • Is It Possible to get a (rough) Mobile Phone Location from a HTTP Request

    If memory serves me correctly, google does this for the maps site. I know google's mobile maps app can determine the rough location (I assume using some kind of cell tower lookup), yet I seem to remember the site getting somewhat close to the current location when viewing on a mobile browser. Anyone know how/if that's possible? Does the IP address change based on the tower or area (seems like they'd be using some kind of gateway common to the carrier)?

    Hi all, I am trying to start windows mobile device center on windows 7 machine. But it only shows me the small green window that is shown at loading time and then it is closed automatically. I am not getting what the problem is. I tried to uninstall the previous update then re-installed again but the problem is not gone. Guys please help me out.   • Compact Framework targeting

    If a smart device project is set to target CF 2.0, Windows CE 5.0, should this same application run on Windows Mobile 6 with CF 3.5 installed? I was able to install it (the CF 2 app), but when running received an error stating that the assemblies could not be loaded and that CF might not be installed. This has led me to belive that smart device projects wil ONLY work on the framework they target, not any versions lower or greater. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
