• PHP: Mapped Network Drives

  Hello all, I have mapped a network drive to a computer in my home network. Now I am trying to access it via PHP - I did this quick test: echo opendir('Z:\\'); This gives me: Warning: opendir(Z:\) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No error in C:\wamp\www\webs\tester-function.php on line 3 What have I done wrong here? I don't want my users typing in the UNC path so is there a way to get the UNC path for them and maybe that will work when I try to access it? This is possible in Microsoft languages but I am not sure how to get PHP to do this - maybe using a cmd.exe command? Please note, the mapped drive does exist as I can see it and I can access it. It also does not appear to be a permissions problem as I am assuming it would of complained about this IF it could access that drive...right? Thanks all for any help

• Stop jQuery animations stacking

  I have an Options box that hovers in the top right of the webpage. It's opacity is set to 10% so as not to be obstructive to users. When they hover over (mouseenter) it I use jQuery to fade it in and slidedown the content (and the reverse on mouseout). If they do this repeatedly though the animation stacks up and you can sometimes be left in a situation where your mouse is stood still but the box is yo-yoing around. How can I get around this situation? Here is how I currently setup the animations $("#dropdown").mouseenter(function() { $(this).fadeTo('fast',1); $("#options").slideDown(); }); $("#dropdown").mouseleave(function() { $(this).fadeTo('fast',0.1); $("#options").slideUp(); }); Note I am using jQuery only and not any other plugins.

• Can I increase the scope of 'this' in the following example?

  In using a jquery callback, I found that 'this' isn't defined anymore. I've found a work around, which is to set 'this' to another variable. For example, like so: function handler(DATA) { myThis = this; $.post( 'file.php', DATA, function() { // THIS where I need access to 'this', but its not available // unless I've used the 'myThis' trick above } ); } It works like this, but I am always looking for 'the right way' or 'the better way' to do things. Is this the best way? or is there another?

  I have one Textbox accepting Bank A/c Number value which should be numerical only. I have written one javascript function for this as follows. function fncInputNumericValuesOnly() { if(!(event.keyCode=48||event.keyCode<=57)) { event.returnValue=false; } } This code is not allowing non-numerical values in IE. but same is not working in Firefox. I also tried to use onkeyup event. & also tried on pageload txtAccountNumber.Attributes.Add("onkeyup","fncInputNumericValuesOnly()") Why this is not working with firefox 3.

• What's the fastest way to compare two objects in PHP?

  Let's say I have an object - a User object in this case - and I'd like to be able to track changes to with a separate class. The User object should not have to change it's behavior in any way for this to happen. Therefore, my separate class creates a "clean" copy of it, stores it somewhere locally, and then later can compare the User object to the original version to see if anything changed during its lifespan. Is there a function, a pattern, or anything that can quickly compare the two versions of the User object? Option 1 Maybe I could serialize each version, and directly compare, or hash them and compare? Option 2 Maybe I should simply create a ReflectionClass, run through each of the properties of the class and see if the two versions have the same property values? Option 3 Maybe there is a simple native function like objects_are_equal($object1,$object2);? What's the fastest way to do this?

  Can someone help me render a form and table on the same page? I'm sure it's easy, but can't think of how to do it. • C++ Interpreter: How to emit error messages?

  I want to emit dynamic error messages like all interpreters do nowadays, for example: Name error: Undefined variable would be constant, however what I want to reach is: Name error: Undefined variable 'X', in line 1 Okay. The line number was really no problem: Every error message must have a line number, so I added it to the error emitter function: Error( ErrType type, string msg, int line ); So where is my problem? How do I get the 'X' into Undefined variable *? I can't use sprintf as it doesn't support strings yet I use them everywhere I can't simply use cout and connect everything as I want error messages to be supressable I'd like to get everything into one function like above, Error() How do I put together dynamic error messages? For example: Error( Name, sprintf("Undefined variable %s", myVariableName ), lineNum ); (But myVariableName is a string and sprintf will mess things up)

• jQuery delay doesn't work as expected

  I have the following jQuery code $("#dropdown").hover(function() { $(this).stop(true,true).fadeTo('fast',1); $("#options").stop(true,true).slideDown(); }, function() { $(this).delay(1000).stop(true,true).fadeTo('fast',0.1); $("#options").delay(1000).stop(true,true).slideUp(); } ); What I expect to happen is when the mouse leaves #dropdown it will wait 1 second before continuing. This is not happening. What I am trying to achieve, in case there is a better way, is to leave the drop down menu visible for a second or two after moving your mouse and I would also like to prevent the events from happening again to prevent artifacts and "funnies" if you were to move the mouse over and out from the div very quickly

• Custom add_action('save_post') causes html markup to disappear!

  I've added a custom "save_post" action to my theme (code is below). However, when I place images or video code in the post, its stripped away. The only way I can get it to stay is to comment out the add_action line.   Using jQuery's .find() method to return a set of elements, I am trying to access items in the returned set by their order in that set. For example, a table with two rows and in each row a select box and two text input fields, accessed with the following: $('table#tbl').find('tr.row').each(function(i) { }); To get the first element I would have thought I could use $('table#tbl').find('tr.row').each(function(i) { alert( $(this).find(':input').get(1).val() ); }); And variations of the above, but apparently this doesn't work. Could anyone suggest the correct method to access item x of n elements returned?

In asp.net application I have SOAP service, which methods should be called from php.   The best thing I could come up with so far is this function: numberFromList([X], X) :- digit(X), !. numberFromList(List, N) :- member(X, List), delete(List, X, LX), numberFromList(LX, NX), N is NX * 10 + X. where digit/1 is a function verifying if an atom is a decimal digit. The numberFromList(List, N) finds all the numbers that can be formed with all digits from List. E.g. [2, 3] -> 23, 32. but I want to get this result: [2, 3] -> 2, 3, 23, 32 I spent a lot of hours thinking about this and I suspect you might use something like append(L, _, List) at some point to get lists of lesser length. I would appreciate any contribution.

  I need to test a logical expression held in a string to see if it evaluate to TRUE or FALSE.(the strig is built dynamically) For example the resulting string may contain "'dog'<'cat' OR (14 AND 4<6)". There are no variables in the string, it will logically evaluate. It will only contain simple operators = < < = <= and AND , OR and Open and Close Brackets, string constants and numbers. (converted to correct syntax && || etc.) I currently acheive this by creating a jscipt function and compiling it into a .dll. I then reference the .dll in my VB.NET project. class ExpressionEvaluator { function Evaluate(Expression : String) { return eval(Expression); } } Is there a simpler method using built in .NET functions or Lamdba expressions.

• Jquery: encasing div and anchor link binded to same event.

  im having trouble figuring out how to bind mouseout() to my entire nav bar including the links. when a user hovers over a link in #nav a sub menu is shown. all is well there. what i want to do is fadeOut that sub menu when the user hovers out of the entire #nav. my code for the mouseout: $('#nav').mouseout(function() { setTimeout(function() { //$('.sub-link').fadeOut(); }, 2000); }); when i hover over an anchor link which resides in #nav, i see the sub-menu. then i guess the mouseout() even fires and the sub-menu fades out. is there anyway to have the #nav and any anchor links within it to act as one? i'd paste my markup but even indenting it 4 spaces still shows as rendered html.. TIA

• I have a ConnectException that isn't being caught for some reason

  I'm working on an Android application that uses sockets. I have a function called initializeStreams() which opens the socket and attempts a connection. This function throws a ConnectException if the connection could not be established. But for some reason, in the code that calls initializeStreams(), which has a catch block for ConnectException, the log prints out its own stack trace for the exception instead of going to the catch block. The catch block is never reached at all, even though the exact exception is being thrown.   I have a simple in-line edit in my grid, and I want to commit the change when the user tabs off the textbox. The default behavior of jqGrid forces the user to press 'Enter' to commit the change, but this is non-intuitive for our users. onSelectRow: function(id) { $(gridCoreGroups).editRow(id, true, undefined, function(response) { alert("hello world"); } } I've worked my way through the events provided, but they all happen as a result of the user pressing 'Enter', which I want to avoid. However, set utilities such as set-intersection, set-union and a function which eliminates duplicates in a list and built-in functions union, intersection, and remove-duplicates are allowed.   I have a data structure with 15 unsigned longs, I have defined a hash function using hash_combine as follows: friend std::size_t hash_value(const TUPLE15& given) { std::size_t seed = 0; boost::hash_combine(seed, val1); boost::hash_combine(seed, val2); ... return seed; } I insert a large number of values into a boost::unordered_map but the performance is not good enough. Probably, I could do better with an alternative hashing function. To confirm this, I need to check how many collisions I am getting. How do I do this?

• Implementing hoverIntent for Drop Down Menu (coming from click_event)

  I've just recently started programming, I was hoping for some help. I have a drop down menu that was originally activated by click_event, however I want to now implement hoverIntent in order to make the menu drop. The issue I am having now is being able to use the menu, because whenever I invoke the menu now, once I leave the area that activates the menu, the menu closes.
