    So, I want to know if to make a Hash Join between two tables is necessary to make a full table scan on the collumns? If i want to join COL1 wiht COL2, and COL1 is smaller, the It makes a full scan in COL1 creating a Hashmap then makes a full scan in COL2 using the sabe hash function. Is this correct?

  • Scan And Fix a RAW drive

    Hi Basically I got the same problem as described in this thread. When I plug my HTC Hero Android Phone with USB into my Windows 7 computer I get a "Do you want to Scan and Fix" message. However, if I click "Scan and Fix", the USB instantly unplug itself, so that's no good. I've tried updating drivers from HTC with no luck. I've also tried running chkdisk from command-line with the message that it can't be used in RAW drives. This is really really annoying, and the SD card works just fine if I ignore the message, so I just want a way to disable/hide this message permanently. If anyone have some ideas how this can be done, please let me know. Thanks.

    I have a struct like this, with an explicit conversion to float: struct TwFix32 { public static explicit operator float(TwFix32 x) { ... } } I can convert a TwFix32 to int with a single explicit cast: (int)fix32 But to convert it to decimal, I have to use two casts: (decimal)(float)fix32 There is no implicit conversion from float to either int or decimal. Why does the compiler let me omit the intermediate cast to float when I'm going to int, but not when I'm going to decimal?

  • SH/BASH - Scan a log file until some text occurs, then exit. How??

    Current working environment is OSX 10.4.11. My current script: #!/bin/sh tail -f log.txt | while read line do if echo $line | grep -q 'LOL CANDY'; then echo 'LOL MATCH FOUND' exit 0 fi done It works properly the first time, but on the second run and beyond it takes 2 occurrences of 'LOL CANDY' to appear before the script will exit, for whatever reason. And although I'm not sure it is specifically related, there is the problem of the "tail -f" staying open forever. Can someone please give me an example that will work without using tail -f? If you want you can give me a bash script, as OSX can handle sh, bash, and some other shells I think.

    C++0x has added explicit conversion operators, but they must always be defined as members of the Source class. The same applies to the assignment operator, it must be defined on the Target class. When the Source and Target classes of the needed conversion are independent of each other, neither the Source can define a conversion operator, neither the Target can define a constructor from a Source.     Hi, I'm using Delphitwain (delphitwain.sourceforge.net) to add scan functionality to my app. Everything was fine, when i click scan button on my app it will show scan mode with scanner's Properties such as Page Size, Scanning Side (canon dr-3010c) and there is a Scan button and Cancel button. If i click cancel of course all the properties back to it's value before. It fails, saying "BPA scan did not complete for one or more servers" Try #1: Try #2: So, I decided to enable the Turn on Script Execution (with Allow all scripts) in Local Group Policy Editor, now I get a very nice exception message :) Clicking on ignore button, BPA logs the following error message: Try #3: So, I decided to go ahead and set the execution policy for all the scopes in PowerShell to unrestricted. Again no luck. What is going on?

Googling for it (also for "Super scan" which seems to be a synonym for the feature) reveals no information other than all the edition comparison pages that exist out there for SQL Server. I'm also not sure whether this is a stackoverflow or a serverfault question.     Hi, We have a Windows Server 2008 Standard edition server and when we logged in today a service, McAfee Security Scan, had been installed. I checked all the logs, but can't find any trace of who or how this install was initiated. We already use Nod32 so there would be no reason for us to install McAfee. Any idea how this happens? I did look for other installs like Flash or the like, but didn't see anything. Thanks Jacques

    I tried a few times to scan newspaper articles, but the images I got were always blotchy and with bad colors (sort of like this). Sometimes I see some really good scans, like this. What is the trick to get such good results? Do I need some high-quality scanner, or do I need some good photoshop filters? If there was something I could do using free tools it would be awesome.
