• PHP/Codeigniter processing a list with javascript

  I have a list of items that the user can select. I want it to be more user friendly than standard checkboxes so I have seperate div's each with a unique id. When user clicks an item, I use javascript to display a tick on top of that item and change the style to show that it is highlighted. Im trying to work out how I can pass the list of id's when the form is submitted. Remember, if the user unticks an item, it should be removed from the list, I was thinking of using comma seperated values in a hidden text field but couldnt work out how to remove items from the start of the list if they were deselected

  I've seen a few questions like this, but mine is a bit more specific so I hope this isn't considered a repost. I am working on a website that is built with struts 2 and hibernate. I need to dynamically populate a drop down menu using data from a sql query based on an option selected in another drop down menu. So basically when the first option is selected I need to rehit the server and get the results from a query like SELECT column FROM table WHERE option = dropDownOption On top of that, I would really like to use ajax to only refresh the affected elements, however I'm really unfamiliar with ajax. I have jquery on this project and I found they have some ajax built in, but is this a good method for using it? any advice on this topic would be appreciated.

  I m sry if the title is not clear. Here's my proble. I created a new table which will show total, average and maximum values. I have to insert the results into that table. That table will have only 4 rows. No Appointment, Appointment Early, Appointment Late and Appointment Punctual. So.. I have sth like.. insert into newTable select 'No Appointment' as 'Col1', avg statement, total statement, max statement from orgTable where (general conditions) and (unique condition to check NO APPOINTMENT); I have to do that same thing for another 3 rows.. where only the unique condition is different to check early, punctual or late.. So..the statement is super long. I wanna reduce the size.. How can I achieve that?

  I have a view model class which uses UnitOfWork to some database operations like fetching of items to create select lists and IPrincipal for some auditing (like modified by etc.). It cannot work without this UOW. I have configured my web site to use Ninject to inject UOW into Controllers. From controller I pass this UOW when creating view model. But when performing POST operation I am getting No parameterless constructor defined for this object. I have few SelectList type of properties which I have excluded with Bind attribute. How can I overcome this problem? Can I configure Ninject to create the objects of this type and make ModelBinder use it?

  I've been asked by my pointy haired boss to educate our new co-ops (interns) in the ways of C#. I have roughly ~30mins to cover the topics of Delegates, Events and Lambda Expressions. The time restriction is rather tight and the topics are broad. Since I'm not a C# guru, I would like some hints and pointers. Since my time is short, what points should I cover with respect to the three topics listed above? What are some good Do's and Dont's when using those three things? I might have time for a short Lambda Expr demo. What is the most common use of LExpr (probably a Select().Where() statement on an enumerable??) that I could demo? Thanks. I can get this to work, but it only pulls up the first name, code and hex and I'm just not seeing what I'm doing wrong.

  In my database I have three tables: Users: UserID (Auto Numbering), UserName, UserPassword and a few other unimportant fields. PrivateMessages: MessageID (Auto Numbering), SenderID and a few other fields defining the message content. MessageStatus: MessageID, ReceiverID, MessageWasRead (Boolean) What I need is a query to which I input a user's id and I get all the private messages he has received. In addition, I also need to receive each message's sender UserName. For this I wrote the following query: SELECT Users.*, PrivateMessages.*, MessageStatus.* FROM PrivateMessages INNER JOIN Users ON PrivateMessages.SenderID = Users.UserID INNER JOIN MessageStatus ON PrivateMessages.MessageID = MessageStatus.MessageID WHERE MessageStatus.ReceiverID=[@userid]; But for some reason when I try saving it in my Access database, I get the following error (translated to English by me, since my office is in a different language): Syntax error (missing operator) at expression: "PrivateMessages.SenderID = Users.UserID INNER JOIN MessageStatus ON PrivateMessages.MessageID = MessageStatus.MessageI".   Hi there, I am currently working on a little backup script from some firebird databases and I've come up with a weird escaping problem that I don't seem to be able to solve. Here's the thing in my script I create a variable called sqllog in which I would like to put the output of a chain of commands, here it is. sqllog=echo "SELECT * FROM RDB\$DATABASE;" | isql -u SYSDBA -pass mypasswd localhost:mydatabase | tail -n 2 | head -n 1 | wc -l if I try to execute this in shell I get the following error Statement failed, SQLCODE = -204 Dynamic SQL Error -SQL error code = -204 -Table unknown -RDB -At line 1, column 15. Table unknown RDB means it didn't take my try to escape the $. thx for any help :)

  I'm writing an application that sends files over network, I want to develop a custom protocol to not limit myself in term on feature richness (http wouldn't be appropriate, the nearest thing is the bittorrent protocol maybe). I've tried with twisted, I've built a good app but there's a bug that makes my GUI blocking, so I've to switch to another framework/strategy. What do you suggest? Using raw sockets and using gtk mainloop (there are select-like functions in the toolkit) is too much difficult? It's viable running two mainloops in different threads? Asking for suggestions

  Hi, I have a typical MVVM scenario: I have a ListBox that is binded to a List of StepsViewModels. I define a DataTemplate so that StepViewModels are rendered as StepViews. The StepView UserControl have a set of labels and TextBoxs. What I want to do is to select the ListBoxItem that is wrapping the StepView when a textBox is focused. I've tried to create a style for my TextBoxs with the following trigger: <Trigger Property="IsFocused" Value="true"> <Setter TargetName="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Mode=FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type ListBoxItem}}}" Property="IsSelected" Value="True"/> </Trigger> But I get an error telling me that TextBoxs don't have an IsSelected property. I now that but the Target is a ListBoxItem. How can I make it work?

• jQuery: event that tracks click in browser autocomplete

  I have a keyup event on an input. This event works fine for auto complete when you select a value and press enter. But it doesn't work when you click at an auto complete value. Is there an event that i can use in such case? I already tried the change one but it doesn't work. Thanks! Edit: Maybe i was not clear but i am referring to the autocomplete feature that browsers have. I am not trying to build my own. Example: I have the following event: $('.product').keyup(searchByProduct); When user clicks at this input the old values that he already typed shows up ( it's the browser that does this ). If he clicks on one of the values, the function searchByProduct is not called. Which event do i have to register to track this click ( and that the input content has changed )?

• Using FileSystemWatcher in detecting a xml file, using Linq in reading the xml file and prompt the results error "Root Element is Missing"

  My application is already working it can detect the xml file and prompt the content of the xml file but sometimes it will prompt "Root element is missing", and sometimes also it is okay but when I open the xml file, it is ok, it has contents on it. How to solve this issue. • PreparedStatement and setTimestamp in oracle jdbc

  Hi everyone, I am using PreparedStatement with Timestamp in where clause: PreparedStatement s=c.prepareStatement("select utctimestamp from t where utctimestamp>=? and utctimestamp<?"); s.setTimestamp(1, new Timestamp(1273017600000L)); //2010-05-05 00:00 GMT s.setTimestamp(2, new Timestamp(1273104000000L)); //2010-05-06 00:00 GMT The result I get is different, when I have different time zones on the client computer. Is this a bug in Oracle jdbc? or correct behavior? The parameter is Timestamp, and I expected that no time conversions will be done on the way. The database column type is DATE, but I also checked it with TIMESTAMP column type with the same results. Is there a way to achieve correct result? I cannot change default timezone in the the whole application to UTC. Thanks for your help
