Best resource for serious Commodore 64 programming.

What is the best resource for serious Commodore 64 programming? Assume that serious programming on the Commodore 64 is not done in BASIC V2 that ships with the Commodore 64. I feel like most of the knowledge is tied up in old books and not available on the internet. All that I have found online are either very beginner style introductions to Commodore 64 programming (Hello world), or arcane demo-coder hacks to take advantage of strange parts of the hardware. I haven't found a well-explained list of opcodes, memory locations for system calls, and general mid-level examples and tips. Hello - I'm looking for some feedback, blog links, etc that offer some tips and tricks for iPhone GPS development. I've read and understand the API, I have my demo app up and running, etc but I have run into some "quirks" with gps on iphone. For example, it seems that you you will receive a lot less location updates when your iphone enters "power save" mode. I've read that you can combat this by playing music in your application [not sure if this is true]. It also seems that, terms of making a reasonable pedometer, you should filter out any reading with horizontal accuracies less than 20 meters. Does this sound right? Is there any kind of checklist out on the web for iphone gps gotchas? Thanks in advance.

Create Task Report from Mylyn?

Hello all - is there a way to create a task/activity report (say a weekly report) off tasks managed with Mylyn? I've been using Rachota TimeTracker which allows me to create reports (in html format) http://rachota.sourceforge.net/en/demo.html I've just started using mylyn (our company uses Embarcadero JBuilder which is is based on Eclipse), but I don't see anywhere in the Eclipse or Embarcadero docs about reporting capabilities. Is it possible? Is it possible to query activities worked on a prior week and report statistics out of it (management like reports, you know;) I'm sure it is, but I haven't been able to google it out. Thanks.

Hi, iTunes Visualizer plugin in C#. Easiest way to compute the "energy level" for a particular sample? I looked at this writeup on beat detection over at GameDev and have had some success with it (I'm not doing beat detection per se, but it's relevant). But ultimately I'm looking for a stupid-as-possible, quick-and-dirty approach for demo purposes. Using an NSButtonCell with template image in a NSTableView

In Interface Builder, I have set the dataCell of one of the columns of my NSTableView instance to be NSButtonCell. This works as expected, however, trying to use a ‘template’ image doesn't yield the expected visual result when clicking the button. How I configure the NSButtonCell: Image: NSRevealFreestandingTemplate Scaling: None Bezel: Bevel Type: Momentary Push In Bordered: false Expected result when clicking the button: Since the image is a ‘template’, the button should render its ‘on’ state. The background, ie the space surrounding the image, should not change. Actual result when clicking the button: No difference in the ‘state’ of the rendered image. The background color changes to white. Even-though I’ve tried my best to make the explanation of the problem as concise as possible, I’ve also made a simple screencast to visually illustrate the problem. And uploaded the demo app.

Problems Executing iPhone "GenericKeychain" Example

I can't get apple's "GenericKeychain" example to run. I have replaced all 5 occurrences, as mentioned in the readme file, of "YOUR_APP_ID_HERE.com.yourcompany" with my own string: se.[company name].[project name].demo. The compilation goes fine but when trying to run it on the phone, an error saying "The executable was signed with invalid entitlements" appears. And yes, I have an ad hoc provisioning profile installed. I've tried to add "Entitlements.plist" with "get-task-allow" checked but with the same result. Has anyone been able to run the example? Wrapping a C# service in a console app to debug it.

I want to debug a service written in C# and the old fashioned way is just too long. I have to stop the service, start my application that uses the service in debug mode (Visual studio 2008), start the service, attach to the service process and then navigate in my Asp.Net application to trigger the service. I basically have the service running in the background, waiting for a task. The web application will trigger a task to be picked up by the service. What I would like to do is to have a console application that fires the service in an effort for me to debug. Is there any simple demo that anybody knows about? Thank you Jack

I try to add a dbspace to a demo database, using a raw device on Linux. I always get SQL error 1010000, file already exists: CREATE DBSPACE KLMTEST USING FILE DF1 '/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-1HITACHI_730109670008' IQ STORE; Could not execute statement. The file '/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-1HITACHI_730109670008' already exists. -- (st_database.cxx 2215) SQLCODE=-1010000, ODBC 3 State="HY000" Line 1, column 1 For my understanding, the raw device has to exist BEFORE the Db can use it. How can I specify the raw device's name in order to make the command work? Permissions of the device are 770 for the sybase user. Thanks a lot Martin

If defined, those classes overwrite the ones come from the skin. </rich:panel> from the RichFaces demo, in my JSF page and no header appears, although I've nothing in my css which would interfere. How to control allowed HTML tags in WMD Editor?

I am trying to some-how set the valid HTML tags and attributes users would be able to use in WMD Editor in my site. For example, I want to forbid the user to directly set the font size, color, typeface and so on, which is trivial to do with the default settings typing something like: <span style="font-size: 45px; color:#FF0000">Some intrusive text here</span>. I think the way to implement this is through the "wmd_options", but I have not found any documentation or reference regarding this, giving the fact that the 'Options demo' seems to be the only public documentation and it does not show how should I do what I have described above. I've send this same question to [email protected] but didn't get any reply. As stackoverflow uses this editor someone reading this or maybe Jeff knows the answer ;) Thanks in advance!

Overlaying image also fades when images change in IE6 jQ slideshow

I have a pretty basic slideshow fading between images. On top of that slideshow I have a logo that is absolute positioned to stay partly over the slideshow. It works perfectly, but then there is IE6. In IE6 the part of the logo that is overlaying the slideshow also fades when the images change in the slideshow. I really do not want to have half the logo in all the pictures in the slideshow, but that seems to be the only solution right now. jqGrid - how to change title based on colModel sortable property

When the mouse hovers over each column I'd like the tooltip to indicate whether that column is sortable. I am able to change the title attribute with something like this: $("#List .ui-th-column").each(function(i) { var isSortable = i % 2; $(this).attr('title', isSortable ? "Not Sortable" : "Click header to sort."); }); I'd like to replace the demo expression 'i % 2' with a check of the colMode's sortable property, but I can't figure out how to get the value of the colModel's sortable property. colModel: [ { name: 'Name', index: 'Name', width: 100, sortable: true }, { name: 'Note', index: 'Note', width: 200, sortable: false } ] I've tried .getGridParam and .getColProp but I don't think the syntax I'm using is correct.

jQuery UI Draggable-Droppable overflow:visible

Sadly, I am unable to provide any JSFiddle for this issue, as I cant seem to reproduce it outside my project. I have a container where there are some boxes, that can be arranged using drag and drop, by utilizing jQuery UI. The problem is, that the container is overflow:auto; but it needs to be overflow:visible;, but if I do that, jQuery UI malfunctions. When a box drag is initiated, it will immediatly jump up aproximately 400-500px. This is how the draggable is created: $(".draggable").draggable({ revert: 'invalid', // when not dropped, the item will revert back to its initial position containment: '#editContainer', // stick to demo-frame if present helper: 'original', cursor: 'move' }); Is this a bug with jQuery UI, or can this be fixed on my end? I apologize for the lack of source code.

vlc python bindings - how to receive keyboard input?

I'm trying to use VLC's python bindings to create my own little video player. The demo implementation is quite simple and nice, but it requires all the keyboard commands to be typed into the console from which the script was run. Is there any way I can handle keyboard input also when the video player itself has focus? Specifically, I care about controlling the video while in fullscreen mode. Perhaps there's a way to keep the keyboard focus in the console (or maybe another window) while showing the video? I'm using Windows XP, if that has any relevance.

Importing already existing git repo with multiple branches and tags into gerrit

I'm trying to import an already existing git repository with multiple branches and tags into gerrit. I'm following the official guide at https://gerrit-review.googlesource.com/Documentation/install-quick.html#_already_existing_project. However, when issuing the push command all the branches and tags, except "master" which I'm currently in, are "prohibited by Gerrit". The output is something like this: user@host:~/my-project$ git push ssh://user@localhost:29418/demo-project *:* [....] * [new branch] master -> master ! [remote rejected] origin/Branch1 -> origin/Branch1 (prohibited by Gerrit) ! [remote rejected] origin/Branch2 -> origin/Branch2 (prohibited by Gerrit) [....] ! [remote rejected] Tag1 -> Tag1 (prohibited by Gerrit) ! [remote rejected] Tag2 -> Tag2 (prohibited by Gerrit) [....] I'm administrator so it shouldn't be an access rights issue.

High CPU Usage with WebGL?

I'm checking out the nightly builds of Firefox and Chromium with support of WebGL with a few demos and tutorials and I can't help but wonder about the extremely high CPU load they cause. A simple demo like this one runs at a sustained 60% of my dual core. The large version of this one maxes out the CPU to 100% and has some visible frame loss. Chromium seems to be slightly better than firefox but not by much. I'm pretty sure that if these were desktop application the CPU load would be negligible. So what's going on here? what is it doing? Running the simple scripts of these can't be that demanding. Is it the extra layer of security or something?

IE7 Jquery UI Sortable problem

Hey guys, I'm using Jquery UI sortable in my current project to make boxes drag and drop-able into new columns. It works in all modern browsers apart from ie7, in which you can drag and drop, but when you drop, it completely ruins the content of the box you're dropping. I've sat and looked at this for ages and have no clue what the problem is. Do any of you have any idea? Here's a demo of what's going on. View it in ie7.

Why can't I use the return from an insertAfter as a regular jQuery object?

I'm trying to insert a link after form elements to clear them. This demo code with headings doesn't work: h2 = $('h2'); clickytest = $('click me').insertAfter(h2).click(function() { $(this).append('foo'); }); But this does: clickytest = $('click me').insertAfter(h2); $('a.clicky').click(function() { $(this).append('foo'); }); The only difference is I've gone back and re-selected the new elements, rather than use what insertAfter returns. If on the other hand there is only one H2 in the whole document, then the first version works. What's going on? I've tried playing with each() but I'm not sure exactly what jQuery is doing here.
