• How do I integrate popToRootViewControllerAnimated with my tabs?

  Hello! I am trying to make one of my tab buttons go to the root using popToRootViewControllerAnimated. My question is: where do I put this code for it to work? I have my tabs created through Interface Builder... do they have to be hard coded for this to work?   I am trying to get a list of parents where the child collection does not contain an item of a specific type. The LINQ equivalent would be something like: dataset.Where(x => x.Items.FirstOrDefault(y => y.Type.Code == "ABC") == null) The object model is Parent Child (Items) Type Code If Parent is my aggregate root, how would I model this in NHibernate criteria/query? • [Java] Flood fill using a stack

  Hello to everyone :), I am using the recursive Flood fill algorithm in Java to fill some areas of a image. With very small images it works fine, but when de image becomes larger the JVM gives me a Stack Over Flow Error. That's the reason why I have to reimplement the method using a Flood Fill with my own stack. (I read that's the best way to do it in these kind of cases) Can anyone explain me how to code it? (if you don't have the code at hand, with the pseudo-code of the algorithm will be fine) I've read a lot in the Internet but I haven't understood it very well. Thanks!

• VC7.1 C1204 internal compiler error

  I'm working on modifying Firaxis' Civilization 4 core game DLL. The host application is built using VC7, hence the constraint (source not provided for the host EXE). I've been working on rewriting a large chunk of the code (focusing on low-hanging performance issues & memory leaks). I recently ran into an internal compiler error when trying to mod the code to use an array class instead of dynamically allocated 2-d arrays, I was going to use matrices from the boost lib (Civ4 is already using boost, so why not?). Basically, the issue comes down to: if I include "boost/numeric/ublas/matrix.hpp", I run into an internal compiler error C1204. MSDN has this to say: MSDN C1204 KB has this to say: KB 883655 So, I'm curious, is it possible to solve this error without a KB/SP being applied and dramatically reducing the complexity of the code? Additionally, as VC7 is no longer "supported", does anyone have a valid (supported) link for a VC7 service pack?

  to write information on the processing state to the GUI inside a tcpserver.onexecute(..) function , i used the following command sequence ExecuteDUMMYCommand(Global_Send_Record); BitMap_PaintImageProcess; TThread.Synchronize(nil, BitMap_PaintImageProcess); The code is working well on some machines, but on a few it fails. The code execution stops atTThread.Synchronize command. I guess on these machines the function call is trapped inside a deadlock Any chance to figure out the real problem behind ? The procedure BitMap_PaintImageProcess , here I create a Bitmap and do a lot of painting stuff , but is seems that this code is never executed ?

However when I click on the 'adBuy' textField on my SWF it opens Coda, the piece of software I'm using to write this small piece of code? I am puzzled.   .NET newbie alert Using Visual C# 2008 Express Edition I have accidentally created a click event for a button. I then deleted the automatically-created method code, which resulted in an error saying that the function, which had now been referenced in the form loading code, could no longer be found. Deleting the following line from the Form1.Designer.cs file's InitializeComponent() function... this.btnCopy.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.btnCopy_Click); ... seems to do the trick, however, it makes me feel very dirty because of the following warning at the beginning of the #region: /// Required method for Designer support - do not modify /// the contents of this method with the code editor. I haven't been able to find a way to do this using the form designer, which I assume is the means implied by this warning. What is the correct way to do this?

  I am writing a plugin which does some js stuff, but does not work for other browsers than FF . I've thought why not execute the plugin for the browsers which support it. I've added the code, but for some reason when I activate the plugin and check the site with a FF all I get is blank page. If I visit with a IE the site is shown correctly. • Using OnNcHItTest for a CWnd not CDialog

  I have a CWnd Derived object used in a dialog. I need to be able to drag it anywhere in the dialog. I have a code overriding OnNCHitTest for moving a dialog dragging it from a place other than the title bar. Is there any equivalent code to do the same to move this CWnd. The following code isnt working. • jquery nodename returning undefined

  This code isn't for anything in particular. I'm just trying to successfully get the tagName or nodeName of an element. However, when I run the following code, I always get an alert saying "undefined". I'm wondering if it's because this function executes when the document is ready? Is there a different place I should be doing this?   I need to write something in my html code to convert digits of form 0123456789 to ?????????? (Arabic digits). the number of visitors is generated by blog service. and I want to convert its digits to Arabic. Counter: ????? ????????????? : <BlogSky:Weblog Counter /> ??? the Persian part of above code mean 'Number of visitors' and 'Persons' (from left to right). but digits are represented in latin (0123...). Is it possible to write something like a function in html? i want it to be a global one for using in weblogs. Note: I don't know anything about web programming languages. (and don't want to learn!). I'm not sure about language of above code. (html?)

• Continuous builds and Agile vs commit often

  Hi All, I'm just doing some formal training in Agile at the moment and one question I have is about the value of Continuous Builds vs value of committing to the version control system often. My understanding with version control is that its better to commit often, because then you have history and the ability to go back to previous changes in a fine grained way. My understanding with Agile and continuous build is that its there to put pressure on the developers to always have working code. That to break the source tree is a taboo thing to do. Now i agree with both of these sentiments, but it occurs to be that sometimes these might be working against each other. You maybe in the middle of a largish code change and want to commit code to make sure you have history, but this will break the source tree. Anybody got any thoughts on this? Cheers Mark.

• ResolveURL not resolving in a user control

  I'm trying to use ResolveUrl() to set some paths in the code behind of a custom ASP.NET user control. The user control contains a navigation menu. I'm loading it on a page that's loading a master page. When I call ResolveUrl("~") in my user control it returns "~" instead of the root of the site. When I call it in a page I get the root path as expected. I've stepped through with the debugger and confirmed, ResolveUrl("~") returns "~" in my user control code behind. Is there some other way I should be calling the function in my user control code behind to get the root path of the site?

• Am I immoral for using a variable name that differs from its type only by case?

  For instance, take this piece of code: var person = new Person(); or for you Pythonistas: person = Person() I'm told constantly how bad this is, but have yet to see an example of the immorality of these two lines of code. To me, person is a Person and trying to give it another name is a waste of time. I suppose in the days before syntax highlighting, this would have been a big deal. But these days, it's pretty easy to tell a type name apart from a variable name. Heck, it's even easy to see the difference here on SO. Or is there something I'm missing? If so, it would be helpful if you could provide an example of code that causes problems.

• CommandManager Executed Events don't fire for custom ICommands

  The WPF CommandManager allows you to do the following (pseudo-ish-code): <Button Name="SomeButton" Command="{Binding Path=ViewModelCommand}"/> And in the code-behind: private void InitCommandEvents() { CommandManager.AddExecutedEventHandler(this.SomeButton, SomeEventHandler); } The SomeEventHandler never gets called. To me this didn't seem like something very wrong to try and do, but if you consider what happens inside CommandManager.AddExecutedEventHandler, it makes sense why it doesn't. Add to that the fact that the documentation clearly states that the CommandManager only works with RoutedCommands. Nonetheless, this had me very frustrated for a while and led me to this question: What would you suggest is the best workaround for the fact that the CommandManager does not support custom ICommands? Especially if you want to add behavior around the execution of a command? For now, I fire the command manually in code behind from the button click event.

• Selecting a UserControl from XAML

  I'm working on a problem right now where I need to embed a UserControl inside another UserControl. But, I need to determine at runtime which embedded UserControl to instantiate. This implies to me that some form of data binding and/or template selection mechanism has to be invoked, but I'm not sure how to proceed with the pure XAML approach. If I was to do this with code, I would define some sort of container control in the parent UserControl, and then in the code-behind, implement some logic which would instantiate the appropriate child UserControl and then insert it as Content into the specified container in the parent UserControl. Can this be done using only XAML, or is some sort of code-behind required?

  Take the following code snippet class Missile: instances = [] def __init__(self): Missile.instances.append(self) Now take the code: class Hero(): ... def fire(self): Missile() When the hero fires, a missile needs to be created and appended to the main list. Thus the hero object needs to reference the list when it fires. Here are a few solutions, although I'm sure there are others: Make the list a global, Use a class variable (as above), or Have the hero object hold a reference to the list. I didn't post this on gamedev because my question is actually more general: Is the previous code considered okay? Given a situation like this, is there a more Pythonic solution?

• Unable to view dialog box in win ce

  I have a win32 application (over 100 source files large) which i need to port to Win CE. I disabled the unsupported functions (such as non client area functions) and compiled the code on a Win CE platform. Now when i run it on my hardware device, I was able to resize the first couple of dialog screens to show up satisfactorily on the LCD. However there is a dialog box that has 2 option buttons and opens a new dialog box based on the choice. I am unable to view the new dialog box. Also, the close (X) button of the parent dialog box is not there and instead shows a question mark (?). I tried resizing the dialog box in the win32 code's resource compiler and it still showed up fine thus telling me that the problem did not lie with the bitmaps. I think there might be some issue with hiding the first dialog box or opening 2 at the same time. please help me. I did not code the win32 version myself and hence i am unable to locate the problem.
