    I am new to writing ant targets. I've to pass 3 arguments from the command line to java program. All these can be optional and can have spaces. How can i do that using ant target. I tried using but if it delimits the arguments by space. So, if my first argument has space then it takes the word after space as second argument. I also tried using It takes spaces but makes the arguments mandatory. Im my java code, i've to set default values for these arguments if any of these is missing. How can i do that.

  • Java - Confused by the one class per file rule

    The one class per file rule in Java has me a bit confused. I writing an Android app and trying to implement the accepted answer to this question: Common class for AsyncTask in Android? which calls for an interface definition which class A implements and class B accepts as an argument to its constructor. So I need an A.java and a B.java, but where does the interface go? Does it need a separate java file itself? Do I have to define it inside both A and B? If not how to import it? Also I will have about 10 different AsyncTask classes, but I don't want to bother creating a new file for each one. What would you recommend? Is there a way to put all 10 classes in one file? Or should I create a big if/then block inside the class and pass an argument telling it which of the 10 different tasks I want it to do?

  • How to run a command on a remote Windows system as a non-admin user with WMI?

    I have a script written in Visual Basic that starts a process (given to the script as an argument) on a remote system (again, given as an argument) using WMI. This script works fine when using an Administrator account on the remote system, but when using a non-administrator account, I get the following error: ConnectServer Failed w/ (-2147024891) Access is denied. I'd like to be able to run processes on remote systems as a non-administrator user with this script, and I'm pretty sure the problem is due to security settings on the remote system, but I've not been able to reset the right ones.

  • Is it possible to have a variadic function in C with no non-variadic parameter?

    I have the following function: void doStuff(int unusedParameter, ...) { va_list params; va_start(params, unusedParameter); /* ... */ va_end(params); } As part of a refactor, I'd like to remove the unused parameter without otherwise changing the implementation of the function. As far as I can tell, it's impossible to use va_start when you don't have a last non-variadic parameter to refer to. Is there any way around this? Background: It is in fact a C++ program, so I could use some operator-overloading magic as suggested here, but I was hoping not to have to change the interface at this point. The existing function does its work by requiring that the variable argument list be null-terminated, and scanning for the NULL, therefore it doesn't need a leading argument to tell it how many arguments it has.

  • DBA's say no to SQL Server DTC?

    I am trying to get our DBA's to enable DTC on a cluster of SQL Server 2005. Unfortunately they keep refusing. Their argument that they would need to set up a dedicated host for DTC (Could take months!!) as it is not a matter of ticking a few boxes. Is this true? How intrusive is DTC on a shared environment such as a SQL farm. Do I have an argument against this? Thanks

  • overwriting arguments in t-sql functions

    I was playing around with some code and realized that it is possible to overwrite the argument to a t-sql function. i.e., create function someFn(@date date) as begin if @date is null set @date = getdate() will set @date to be today's date if the argument was null. This appears only to make any sense if t-sql is treating their arguments as references not values. I realized that I don't actually know what the t-sql rules are for cases like this and was hoping someone could elaborate what is going on here. (I don't ever recall seeing any value vs. reference discussion with respect to t-sql code for that matter actually..)

  • Inconsistent results in R with RNetCDF - why?

    I am having trouble extracting data from NetCDF data files using RNetCDF. The data files each have 3 dimensions (longitude, latitude, and a date) and 3 variables (latitude, longitude, and a climate variable). There are four datasets, each with a different climate variable. Here is some of the output from print.nc(p8m.tmax) for clarity. The other datasets are identical except for the specific climate variable. dimensions: month = UNLIMITED ; // (1368 currently) lat = 3105 ; lon = 7025 ; variables: float lat(lat) ; lat:long_name = "latitude" ; lat:standard_name = "latitude" ; lat:units = "degrees_north" ; float lon(lon) ; lon:long_name = "longitude" ; lon:standard_name = "longitude" ; lon:units = "degrees_east" ; short tmax(lon, lat, month) ; tmax:missing_value = -9999 ; tmax:_FillValue = -9999 ; tmax:units = "degree_celsius" ; tmax:scale_factor = 0.01 ; tmax:valid_min = -5000 ; tmax:valid_max = 6000 ; I am getting behavior I don't understand when I use the var.get.nc function from the RNetCDF package. For example, when I attempt to extract 82 values beginning at stval from the maximum temperature data (p8m.tmax <- open.nc(tmaxdataset.nc)) with > var.get.nc(p8m.tmax,'tmax', start=c(lon_val, lat_val, stval),count=c(1,1,82)) (where lon_val and lat_val specify the location in the dataset of the coordinates I'm interested in and stval is stval is set to which(time_vec==200201), which in this case equaled 1285.) I get Error: Invalid argument But after successfully extracting 80 and 81 values > var.get.nc(p8m.tmax,'tmax', start=c(lon_val, lat_val, stval),count=c(1,1,80)) > var.get.nc(p8m.tmax,'tmax', start=c(lon_val, lat_val, stval),count=c(1,1,81)) the command with 82 works: > var.get.nc(p8m.tmax,'tmax', start=c(lon_val, lat_val, stval),count=c(1,1,82)) [1] 444 866 1063 ... [output snipped] The same problem occurs in the identically structured tmin file, but at 36 instead of 82: > var.get.nc(p8m.tmin,'tmin', start=c(lon_val, lat_val, stval),count=c(1,1,36)) produces Error: Invalid argument But after repeating with counts of 30, 31, etc > var.get.nc(p8m.tmin,'tmin', start=c(lon_val, lat_val, stval), count=c(1,1,36)) works. These examples make it seem like the function is failing at the last count, but that actually isn't the case. In the first example, var.get.nc gave Error: Invalid argument after I asked for 84 values. I then narrowed the failure down to the 82nd count by varying the starting point in the dataset and asking for only 1 value at a time. The particular number the problem occurs at also varies. I can close and reopen the dataset and have the problem occur at a different location. In the particular examples above, lon_val and lat_val are 1595 and 1751, respectively, identifying the location in the dataset along the lat and lon dimensions for the latitude and longitude I'm interested in. The 1595th latitude and 1751th longitude are not the problem, however. The problem occurs with all other latitude and longitudes I've tried. Varying the starting location in the dataset along the climate variable dimension (stval) and/or specifying it different (as a number in the command instead of the object stval) also does not fix the problem. This problem doesn't always occur. I can run identical code three times in a row (clearing all objects in between runs) and get a different outcome each time. The first run may choke on the 7th entry I'm trying to get, the second might work fine, and the third run might choke on the 83rd entry. I'm absolutely baffled by such inconsistent behavior. The open.nc function has also started to fail with the same Error: Invalid argument. Like the var.get.nc problems, it also occurs inconsistently. Does anyone know what causes the initial failure to extract the variable? And how I might prevent it? Could have to do with the size of the data files (~60GB each) and/or the fact that I'm accessing them through networked drives?     So far I have: int SimplifyText(char chars[], int length) { //To lower for(int i=0; i<length; i++) { chars[i] = tolower(chars[i]); } This function simplifies the text in the first argument which is an array containing the number of characters as given in the second argument The requirements are: tolower all remove all non-alpha characters replace multiple whitespace by one blank. Any leading whitespace at the beginning of the array should be removed completely. The resulting number of characters should be returned as the value of the function. And the annoying part: Another array cannot appear in the function Cannot use strings, only char arrays. Cannot using G++'s extension for setting an array size using a variable. Oh and can't use regex :) I'm stuck with this, any help would be great. :)

  • How do I get a Type[] with arguments from a MethodCallExpression?

    I'm reflecting over a class (in a unit test of said class) to make sure its members have all the required attributes. To do so, I've constructed a couple of helpers, that take an Expression as an argument. I do some checks for it, and take slightly different actions depending on what type of Expression it is, but it's basically the same. Now, my problem is that I have several methods with the same name (but different signatures), and the following code throws an AmbiguousMatchException: // TOnType is a type argument for the type where the method is declared // mce is the MethodCallExpression var m = typeof(TOnType).GetMethod(mce.Method.Name); Now, if I could add an array of Type[] with the types of the arguments to this method as a second parameter to .GetMethod(), the problem would be solved. But how do I find this Type[] array that I need? I have cast the Expression<Func<...>> to an Expression, and then to a MethodCallExpression, and in this method the contents of <...> is not known.

    I was reading this great article about closures here and the example below outputs 'item3 undefined' three times. I understand why it outputs 'item3' three times as the functions inside buildList() all use the same single closure but why can't it access the 'list' argument? Why is it undefined?   • Can I pass an array as arguments to a method with variable arguments in Java?

    I'd like to be able to create a function like: class A { private String extraVar; public String myFormat(String format, Object ... args){ return String.format(format, extraVar, args); } } The problem here is that args is treated as Object[] in the method myFormat, and thus is a single argument to String.format, while I'd like every single Object in args to be passed as a new argument. Since String.format is also a method with variable arguments, this should be possible. If this is not possible, is there a method like String.format(String format, Object[] args)? In that case I could prepend extraVar to args using a new array and pass it to that method.

  • Installation of SAP Web Application Server 6.20 fails

    I tried installing a trial version of SAP NetWeaver 7.1 on Windows Vista on my laptop but I couldn't succeed. Then I tried installing SAP Web Application Server 6.20.     I've set up a test machine with multiple PCI-e nVidia GF440 Video cards and installed Windows Multipoint Server 2011. I use the same kind of hardware set up with a BeTwin multiseat solution to create a class lab for Google SketchUp teaching (highly OpenGL dependent) and it works ok. On the Multipoint Windows test machine the drivers seem to be installed OK but I don´t seem to get any hardware video acceleration. Is this a intrinsic limitation of this solution or am I doing something wrong?

    I have a DC (FQDN:server.icmcpk.local) and an ADC (FQDN:file-server.icmcpk.local). Recently my DC is facing a bad sector problem so I changed the Operation Masters to file-server for all five roles. but when ever i turn off the OLD DC the file-server also stops wroking with AD and GPMC further i m also unable to join any other computer to this domain. For Test purpose i also added a new ADC (FQDN:wds-server.icmcpk.local) but no succes with the old DC off i had to turn the old DC on and then joined it. I m attaching the Dcdiags for all three servers.   • Cannot exit X server, restart, shutdown or drop to tty when VGA monitor active

    I have a strange problem. If I connect an external VGA monitor to my laptop, exiting the X environment in any way crashes the computer. For example, say I am working with my two monitors (the laptop's and one connected to my VGA port) active. Hitting Ctrl+Alt+F Key should take me down to a tty. What actually happens is that the VGA screen goes blank, as you would expect, but the laptop screen, although still on, shows nothing. I know the screen is on because it is slightly more illuminated than when it is off. When in this state, I can do nothing to regain access to the machine. I have tried: Ctrl+F Key (and even Ctrl+Alt+F Key, just in case) combinations and none seem to have any effect. Ctrl+Alt+Del : Nothing Magic SysRq key: Nothing Blindly typing my username and password and trying to reboot/shutdown or restart GDM or MDM: Nothing The only thing that works is a hard reset. The exact same behavior occurs when kiling the X server through Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, rebooting or shutdown. There is no difference if I reboot/shutdown/log out using the WM's graphical menu or if I use the shutdown or rebootcommands. It is also not WM-dependent. I have the same problem using Cinnamon, Gnome 3, MATE and xfce4. It is, however, VGA dependent. I have tried connecting another VGA monitor and have the same problem. I do not, however, have this problem if a screen is connected to the DisplayPort. It is, therefore, a VGA specific issue. To make things even stranger, this only occurs when both screens are active. If either the laptop screen or the VGA monitor is inactive the problem goes away. Finally, this problem arose when I installed the latest Linux Mint Debian (LMDE). It did not occur with the previous release of LMDE. I am not sure what has changed since I used the same kernel version in both releases (I had upgraded the kernel while on the previous release) and, I think, the same nvidia drivers. Oh, and yes, I have updated the nvidia driver. Hardware: Dell M4500 laptop CPU: Intel Core i7 RAM: 8GB Graphics: nVidia GT216 [Quadro FX 880M] Software: LMDE, kernel 3.2.0-2-amd64 Xorg: 1.11.4 nVidia kernel: 295.20-1+3.2.9-1 Possibly relevant files: /var/log/Xorg.0.log ~/.xsession-errors Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?     After a reboot, my internet connection lasts perhaps a half hour or so before tanking. I can ping (by both IP and hostname), but I cannot browse. If I restart the "Network Store Interface Service", my connection comes back. What could be failing with that service or its dependent services that would kill my ability to browse? For some system info, I'm using a Sony Vaio with a fully-patched Windows Vista install and with an Intel 3945ABG wireless adapter.
