  after installing monit when i do monit status myproc i get "error connecting to the monit daemon" I read somewhere that The status command won't work in the case that monit is running indaemon mode without its http support - the command 'monit status' in such case tries to get the status from the daemon via http/tcp. To start the http interface you need to add the 'set httpd ...' statement to theconfiguration. is that still correct? that post was from 2005

  Using Ubuntu 12.04, are there any differences between installing Apache httpd using sudo apt-get install apache2 (as the guide of Ubuntu says - https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/serverguide/httpd.html ) or following the steps on the Apache documentation (http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/install.html#overview)? I tried both ways; in the first case (using apt-get) the server seems to work - I open a browser page and I got it. In the second case I need other packages (apr, apr-util and pcre) and so I abandoned the attempt.

Like :- $ tshark -i rpcap://1.1.1.1/lo -f "ip proto 1" -i rpcap://1.1.1.1/lo -f "ip proto 132" or (same filter) $ tshark -i rpcap://1.1.1.1/lo -f "ip proto 1" -i rpcap://1.1.1.1/lo -f "ip proto 1" what will happen in both the cases ? In first case, will the capture filter gets OR'ed or AND'ed ?? In second case, will the same packets be captured two times ?

I was thinking that dd-ing it Linux would be a sensible way to go, but don't really want to experiment in this situation. At the moment I am having a problem with some users having mixed case user names in active directory. Would it be possible to change all users with mixed case user names to be all lowercase instead? I'd like to setup outlook to just ask me for the case number, fill it in the appropriate place in the body and subject of the email and then send it to a preset list of recipients (it's a static list of people). I think some combination of Forms and Templates should be able to do this but I'm unsure how.

  Hello, I recently learned of the joys of square brackets with SMART_HOST to have sendmail ignore MX lookups. I need this functionality, however, I can't seem to make it persistant. Sending mail with -Am works, however, -bm does not. In the -Am case, the correct mail server is used. In the -bm case, an MX lookup is still being performed. Is there a way to disable MX lookups (or some working alternative)? Thanks

  I have the SSH connection working. I have it successfully modeling the device (Ubuntu Server, in this case). What I can't get to work is the SNMP portion. It sounds like I have to custom add the snmpwalk command when doing monitoring over SSH - in other words, have Zenoss connect via SSH, and then run an arbitrary command agains the client (in this case, an snmpwalk), and then parse the results.   In several applications, the Save and Load dialog windows are just not showing. And in notepad (which obviously handles the return code) is reporting an out of memory issue, which I'm sure is not the case; I think it's assuming it's out of memory as it can't get the window handle. In any case, there's something definitely wrong with Windows, but there's nothing in the event log. Any idea why this might happen?

  I am considering building my next PC into a server rack case, the reason is I am getting a server cabinet and will be putting in a few servers in it. It will be in my room where I use my main PC as well and in my case it just makes sense to build my next PC into this cabinet/rack. So my main concern, will I be able to extend my mouse, keyboard, and 2-3 monitors10-15 feet accross a room from my server rack to my desk?

  After reading a bit about interVLAN routing got a doubt regarding how trunking takes place at router and at switch.In case of switch we configure a port interface as trunk port and say all vlan's are allowed here but in case of router we configure sub interface as trunk saying particular vlan belongs to particular subinterface .Can't we configure only a single port interface on router just like Switch and say all vlan's are allowed here on this interface ,why to go for sub interfaces? • Secure Standalone Server Plus Firewall Unit [closed]

The thing is, it needs to be a secured case (locked unit) that has proper airflow and we can have power and networking cables coming out of the back. We've googled far and wide and have only been able to find 'hard case' units that offer some level of security but they are extremely bulky and require freight delivery.   IE8 throws an "Error: Object required" message (error in the actual jquery library script, not my javascript file) when the switch statement in this function runs. This code works in IE6, IE7, FF3, and Safari... Any ideas? Does it have something to do with the '$(this)' selector in the switch? • Exclude a directory from a rewriterule using ISAPI rewrite 3

  Basically I've recently added the below rule in my httpd.conf for ISAPI rewrite on an IIS server to make sure that it always defaults to lower-case file and directory names. RewriteRule ^(.*[A-Z].*)$ $1 [CL,R=301,L] This is all fine and dandy for every part of the site except for one directory which we can call /MisbehavingDir, the code in this particular directory is filled with mixed-case filenames and lots of server- and client-side scripting that would have to be rewritten to use all lower-case in order to work properly (with the RewriteRule above it seems to hit a couple of 301s in the wrong places which causes that part of the site to function poorly to say the least). Since I'm not in the mood for rewriting that part of the site I'd love to find a good way to modify the above regex so that it matches everything except paths starting with MisbehavingDir and since my regex-fu isn't really good enough I figured I'd ask here. Is there a simple "beautiful" solution to this that anyone wants to share or should I just set aside several days to rewrite the app, then test it and go through that whole dance?

  This is from the DBD::File-documentation: f_ext This attribute is used for setting the file extension where (CSV) files are opened. There are several possibilities. DBI:CSV:f_dir=data;f_ext=.csv In this case, DBD::File will open only table.csv if both table.csv and table exist in the datadir. The table will still be named table. If your datadir has files with extensions, and you do not pass this attribute, your table is named table.csv, which is probably not what you wanted. The extension is always case-insensitive. The table names are not. DBI:CSV:f_dir=data;f_ext=.csv/r In this case the extension is required, and all filenames that do not match are ignored. It was not possible for me to generate different behavior with the two options ".csv/r" and ".csv". Could someone show me an example, where I can see the difference between ".csv/r" and ".csv"?

  I'm using SQL Server 2005, with a case sensitive database.. In a search function, I need to create a Linq To Entities (L2E) query with a "where" clause that compare several strings with the data in the database with these rules : The comparison is a "Contains" mode, not strict compare : easy as the string's Contains() method is allowed in L2E The comparison must be case insensitive : I use ToLower() on both elements to perform an insensitive comparison. All of this performs really well but I ran into the following Exception : "Argument data type ntext is invalid for argument 1 of lower function" on one of my fields. It seems that the field is a NText field and I can't perform a ToLower() on that. What could I do to be able to perform a case insensitive Contains() on that NText field ?
