  • Q about AbstractApplicationContext.getBeansOfType() and getBean()

    We have the following legacy 2.0.7 Spring code: final Map<String, MyClass> secondaryFactories = (Map<String, MyClass>) context.getBeansOfType(MyClass.class, false, true); return (MyClass) context.getBean("myClass"); where context is an instance of org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext Note that we ignore the return value of getBeansOfType(). This works just fine, but the problem is that the call to getBeansOfType() is time-consuming. However, even though we ignore the return value of this call, if we try to eliminate this call, then the instance of MyClass returned by getBean() is not fully initialized. (So, apparently, the call to getBeansOfType() is having some sort of side-effects that we need.) We suspect that the call to getBeansOfType() is overkill and we could do something more lightweight so that the instance of MyClass obtained by the call to getBean() would be fully initialized (but it's not null and no exception is thrown). So, is there a more efficient way of doing this?

  • poplib and email module will not reloop through a message if it has alread read it

    I'm currently trying to write a script that gets messages from my gmail account but I'm noticing a problem. If poplib loops through a message in my inbox it will never loop through it again.     Hi all, I am trying to use a Stored Procedure which takes two parameters (login, pw) and returns the user info. If I execute the SP manually, I get Session_UID User_Group_Name Sys_User_Name ------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------- - NULL Administrators NTMSAdmin No rows affected. (1 row(s) returned) @RETURN_VALUE = 0 Finished running [dbo].[p_SYS_Login].     What is the easiest and safest way to call a function from a shared library / dll? I am mostly interested in doing this on linux, but it would be better if there were a platform-independent way.   • Centralized way of organizing urls in Jersey?

    Forgive me if I am asking an obvious question (maybe I missed it in the docs somewhere?) but has anyone found a good way to organize their URLs in Jersey Java framework? I mean organizing them centrally in your Java source code, so that you can be sure there are not two classes that refer to the same Url. For example django has a really nice regex-based matching. I was thinking of doing something like an enum: enum Urls{ CARS ("cars"), CAR_INFO ("car", "{info}"); public Urls(String path, String args) ... } but you can imagine that gets out of hand pretty quickly if you have urls like: cars/1/wheels/3 where you need multiple path-ids interleaved with one another... Any tips?

    I have an app that so far consists of two Activities: The Main Menu Activity. The Game Activity The Main Menu Activity contains a button that starts the Game Activity with the following code: public void onClick(View clickedButton) { switch(clickedButton.getId()) { case R.id.buttonPlay: Intent i = new Intent("apple.banana.BouncingBallActivity"); startActivity(i); break; } When the user is done with the Game Activity, he presses the back button. This calls the onPause() method first, which pauses the animation thread of the game. It then calls the onStop() which calls finish() on the activity altogether. The user is returned to the Main Menu activity. The code is outlined below: public class BouncingBallActivity extends Activity{ private BouncingBallView bouncingBallView; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); bouncingBallView = new BouncingBallView(this); bouncingBallView.resume(); setContentView(bouncingBallView); } @Override protected void onPause() { super.onPause(); bouncingBallView.pause(); } @Override protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); bouncingBallView.resume(); } @Override protected void onStop() { super.onStop(); this.finish(); } } The problem is that this only works if I launch the application from Eclipse.     I have an array of tags per item like so: item1 = ['new', 'expensive'] item2 = ['expensive', 'lame'] I also have a boolean expression as a string based on possible tags: buy_it = "(new || expensive) && !lame" How can I determine if an item matches the buying criteria based on the tags associated with it? My original thought was to do a gsub on all words in buy_it to become 'true' or 'false' based on them existing in the itemx tags array and then exec the resulting string to get a boolean result. But since the Ruby community is usually more creative than me, is there a better solution?

  • Updating .net 4.0 machine.config seems to have no effect

    I'm feeling stupid. I've just created my first ASP.net 4.0 site after working my way though over the years from 1.1 upwards. We have several settings at the machine.config level that I need to migrate to the new 4.0 machine.config. I though I had be adding the required connection strings to the connection string section of the following two files: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\machine.config C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\machine.config When I created a new website in IIS and assigned it to the ASP.net 4.0 Application pool I only get the default LocalSqlServer connection string. I tried editing the name of this in the two files above to indicate which file it was in, but there was no change. Are there machine.config files in other locations I should be looking at?

    Hey All, Like always, just want to say thank you for all of the help and input in advance. I have a particular site that I am the web developer for and am running into a unique problem. It seems that somehow something is getting into every single PHP file on my site and adding some malware code. I have deleted the code from every page multiple times and changed FTP and DB passwords, but to no avail. The code that is added looks like this - eval(base64_decode(string)) - which the string is 3024 characters. Not sure if anyone else has ran into this problem or if any one has ideas on how I can secure my php code up. Thanks again.

    I am trying to copy files from one folder to another using the FileUtils method "static void copyDirectory(File srcDir, File destDir)" from apache commons io (2.4) with the following code: String srcDir = "/sourceDirectory/examples/"; String destDir = "/tmp/examples/"; try{ FileUtils.copyDirectory(new File(srcDir), new File(destDir)); } catch (IOException e){ e.printStackTrace(); } The file structure looks like the following: examples/ (read access) examples/.subdirectory (NO access) examples/file1.txt (read access) examples/file2.txt (read access) examples/subdirectory2/file1.txt (read access) examples/subdirectory2/file2.txt (NO access) The problem is, that in srcDir there are a few files and one subdirectory I don't have access to. FileUtils.copyDirectory throws an "java.io.FileNotFoundException: .subdirectory (Permission denied)" and aborts. Is it possible to ignore those files I don't have permission to and just copy all the other files I can read?

I have the code to check for any matching images, but if there are supposed to be four matching image paths (as that is how many are in the first collection), and there is less than this, how can I get the missing one without writing loops?     Hi, I was wondering if there was anything that provides test data for injecting into Nunit tests? I'm sure I came across something recently that does this but I couldn't find it again. Basically the idea is that I could use selenium and Nunit to create new customers within the system automatically. So I could have selenium type in customer names generated from test generator (the < DataGenerator is just an imaginary class): e.g. dim sFirstName as string = < DataGenerator >.GetRandomFirstName() dim sLastName as string = < DataGenerator >.GetRandomLastName() selenium.type("firstname_field",sFirstName) selenium.type("lastname_field",sLastName ) I've already seen SQLDataGenerator from Redgate which has a cmd line wrapper class, but I was wondering if there was anything else.
