  • Unable to bind in asp.net grid Template Column

    - by OneSmartGuy
    I am having trouble accessing the data field. I receive the error: Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control. I can get the value but using <%# getOpenJobs((string)Eval("ParentPart")) % but I need to use it in the if to display a certian picture if it passes the condition. Is there a better way to do this or am i just missing something simple? <telerik:GridTemplateColumn UniqueName="hasOpenJobs" HeaderText=""> <ItemTemplate> <% if (getOpenJobs((string)Eval("ParentPart")) > 1) { %> <img src="../images/job-icon.gif" alt="Open Jobs" /> <%} %> </ItemTemplate> </telerik:GridTemplateColumn>

  • Referencing a different project in the same assembly, different namespaces

    - by Redburn
    I have two projects : Menu and Module and they are both in the same namespace foobar. I am currently referencing the module project from the Menu project to open up certain controls on a tab control in my menu. However I need to launch a new control from one of my controls which is located in the Module project. When I try referencing the menu project, it does not show up in my intellisense when I try to reference it with a using. Am I doing something wrong logically here? Here is an example of what it is : Project Menu Public Void LaunchWPFControl(string pHeader,string pPath) { //Code goes here to launch a WPF control in the browser } Project Module //What I would love to do but doesn't work Using Menu; ... ... ... private void dgModule_MouseDoubleClick(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { Menu.LaunchWPFControl("Accounts","AccountsControl"); }

  • Ruby: map tags into a boolean condition to get a true/false result

    - by cgyDeveloper
    I have an array of tags per item like so: item1 = ['new', 'expensive'] item2 = ['expensive', 'lame'] I also have a boolean expression as a string based on possible tags: buy_it = "(new || expensive) && !lame" How can I determine if an item matches the buying criteria based on the tags associated with it? My original thought was to do a gsub on all words in buy_it to become 'true' or 'false' based on them existing in the itemx tags array and then exec the resulting string to get a boolean result. But since the Ruby community is usually more creative than me, is there a better solution?

  • NOT replacing ? with letter guessed

    - by user3720541
    i need my code to replace the ? with the letter guessed. The ? needs to be replaced with a for only those to spots. The word in array is parameter. public static void replace(String[] wordOne, String blanks, char guess) { int i; blanks = wordOne[0]; for (i = 0; i < wordOne.length; i++) { for (int j = 0; j < wordOne[0].length(); j++) { blanks = blanks.replace(blanks.charAt(j), '?'); if (wordOne[0].charAt(i) == guess) { blanks = blanks.replace(blanks.charAt(i), guess); } } } System.out.println(blanks); } }

  • Crystal Reports: Cannot insert some fields from Field Explorer to Report

    - by zdhacz
    I have an existing report (Crystal Reports 11) that is based on two Oracle views. I have made 'Verify database' already, it's done and up to date. My problem is that I can insert some fields to report but some other I cannot. For example: field Name (string(35)) is ok, but similar field Compamy (string(20)) I cannot insert to Report. Drag&drop does not work and small button "Insert to Report" in Field Explorer is disabled too. Next symptom: when I try to use functionless field (e.g. Company) in Record Selection Formula Editor, Crystal Reports crash. There is any way how to add these fields into Report? Thanks

  • Getline and 16h (26d) character

    - by Kra
    Hi, in VC++ environment Im using (string) getline function to read separate lines in opened file. Problem is that getline takes character 1Ah as end of file and if it is present on the line, whole reading ends prematurely. Is there any solution for this? Code snippet: fstream LogFile (Source,fstream::in); string Line while (getline(LogFile,Line)) { .... } File contents: line1text1asdf line2text2asd //EOF for getline here line3asdas // this line will never be read by getline Thank you for any info. • Get return values from a stored procedure in c# (login process)

    - by Jin
    Hi all, I am trying to use a Stored Procedure which takes two parameters (login, pw) and returns the user info. If I execute the SP manually, I get Session_UID User_Group_Name Sys_User_Name ------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------- - NULL Administrators NTMSAdmin No rows affected. (1 row(s) returned) @RETURN_VALUE = 0 Finished running [dbo].[p_SYS_Login]. But with the code below, I only get the return value. do you know how to get the other values shown above like Session_UID, User_Group_Name, and Sys_User_Name ? if you see the commented part below code. I tried to add some output parameters but it doesn't work with incorrect number of parameters error. string strConnection = Settings.Default.ConnectionString; using (SqlConnection conn = new SqlConnection(strConnection)) { using (SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand()) { SqlDataReader rdr = null; cmd.Connection = conn; cmd.CommandText = "p_SYS_Login"; //cmd.CommandText = "p_sys_Select_User_Group"; cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; SqlParameter paramReturnValue = new SqlParameter(); paramReturnValue.ParameterName = "@RETURN_VALUE"; paramReturnValue.SqlDbType = SqlDbType.Int; paramReturnValue.SourceColumn = null; paramReturnValue.Direction = ParameterDirection.ReturnValue; //SqlParameter paramGroupName = new SqlParameter("@User_Group_Name", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50); //paramGroupName.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output; //SqlParameter paramUserName = new SqlParameter("@Sys_User_Name", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50); //paramUserName.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output; cmd.Parameters.Add(paramReturnValue); //cmd.Parameters.Add(paramGroupName); //cmd.Parameters.Add(paramUserName); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Sys_Login", textUserID.Text); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Sys_Password", textPassword.Text); try { conn.Open(); object result = cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); int returnValue = (int)cmd.Parameters["@RETURN_VALUE"].Value; if (returnValue == 0) { Hide(); Program.MapForm.Show(); } else if (returnValue == 1) { MessageBox.Show("The username or password you entered is incorrect", "NTMS Login", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Warning); } else if (returnValue == 2) { MessageBox.Show("This account is disabled", "NTMS Login", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Warning); } else { MessageBox.Show("Database error.   • Reading a series of input / output in Python

    - by PulpFiction
    Hello everyone. For my app, I need to print out a series of outputs and then accepts inputs from the user. What would be the best way of doing this? Like: print '1' x = raw_input() print '2' y = raw_input() Something like this, but it would go on for at least 10 times. My only concern with doing the above is that it would make up for poor code readability. How should I do it? Should I create a function like this: def printOut(string): print string Or is there a better way?

  • How do I write a regex that ignores strings starting with a particular prefix, and captures everythi

    - by Mark Rogers
    Background: I'm trying to come up with a regex for a rewrite rule that will take anything that does not start with a particular prefix, and add that prefix to it. But urls that already have the prefix should be rejected by the regular expression (because they already have the url). Example: If the prefix is s1 a string like home will capture the home part. But a string like s1/home, will not capture anything. This way I can add the capture group onto the prefix, so that 'home' will become 's1/home'. I've tried (^s1/), but I'm missing something here, because that rejected 'home' for some reason.

  • Can I use part of MD5 hash for data identification?

    - by sharptooth
    I use MD5 hash for identifying files with unknown origin. No attacker here, so I don't care that MD5 has been broken and one can intendedly generate collisions. My problem is I need to provide logging so that different problems are diagnosed easier. If I log every hash as a hex string that's too long, inconvenient and looks ugly, so I'd like to shorten the hash string. Now I know that just taking a small part of a GUID is a very bad idea - GUIDs are designed to be unique, but part of them are not. Is the same true for MD5 - can I take say first 4 bytes of MD5 and assume that I only get collision probability higher due to the reduced number of bytes compared to the original hash?

  • Asp.Net Scrapping Grid Pages

    - by SH
    I need cod in C#. Look, i am trying to post the search.aspx page which contains Asp.Net grid. When grid is rendered it loads very first page on the screen and then there are number of pages in the grid header. I scrap first page, and now i want to move on to the next page. All this is being done using following code: HttpWebRequest myRequest = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("http://pubrec3.hillsclerk.com/oncore/search.aspx?" + param); myRequest.Method = "GET"; myRequest.KeepAlive = false; HttpWebResponse webresponse; try { webresponse = (HttpWebResponse)myRequest.GetResponse(); Encoding enc = System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding(1252); StreamReader loResponseStream = new StreamReader(webresponse.GetResponseStream(), enc); string r = loResponseStream.ReadToEnd(); loResponseStream.Close(); webresponse.Close(); //if (GetRecordCount(r)) ExtractResultTable(bd, ed, r); } catch (Exception ex) { } The above code grabs first page... and now i have to move on to the next page. This is the link which produces a grid with 3 pages. http://pubrec3.hillsclerk.com/oncore/search.aspx?bd=01/01/2008&ed=12/31/2008&bt=O&lb=1000000&ub=1000000000&d=5/6/2010&pt=-1&dt=D,%20MTG&st=consideration Using above code i need to load the 2nd page with the same search criteria but the records found in 2nd page. and then so on. I know there is a trick to navigate through the grid pages. I used it but it did not work on this page. the trick is, you can pass __EVENTTARGET and __EVENTARGUMENT in query string to navigate through the gird but it does not work on this website. I am desperately searching a way, how to cope with this website. i really want this done. i do not want any code but a way to nevigate throgh the grid using query string if it does work. Otherwise please be specific to the problem.

  • How to represent datetime of different time zomes in C#

    - by Mohoch
    I have a .NET WebService (written in C#), that is supposed to serve people around the world. With each request I get the user's datetime in his own time zone with the format : yyyy/MM/dd HH:mm ZZZZ. I have to convert the string to something representing the original date and time and specifying the time zone in GMT. I have to make some logical calculations and keep it in the database. The regular DateTime doe's not support this. it does not have a property specifying the time zone. When I try to convert my string into DateTime - it simply converts it to my local time. I do not want to keep my time in UTC, because I have some logic that has to run per user by his own time. Does anyone know a C# class that handles this?

  • Printing a list using reflection

    - by TFool
    public class Service{ String serviceName; //setter and getter } public class Version{ String VersionID; //setter and getter } public void test(Object list){ //it shd print the obtained list } List< Service list1; //Service is a Bean List< Version list2; //Version is a Bean test(list1); test(list2); Now the test method shd print the obtained list - (i.e) If the list is of type Service ,then serviceName should be printed using its getter. If the list type is Version versionID should be printed. Is it possible to achieve this without using Interface or abstract class?

  • how to display CFStringType? Like kABHomeLabel

    - by xiaozi
    I know that NSString and CFString are toll-bridge, they can convert in such a way. CFStringRef cfStr; NSString* anStr=(NSString*)cfStr; however,when I convert string in such a case when dealing addressbook NSString* homeLabel=(NSString*)kABWorkLabel; then homeLabel is "$!!$"; the other pre-defined CFStringRef in the addressbook property is the same. in my program,I want to get both the label and the label item's info. NSString* label=ABMultiValueCopyLabelAtIndex(multi,i); so how to correctly get the string of the label? Thanks!

  • Q about AbstractApplicationContext.getBeansOfType() and getBean()

    - by Paul Reiners
    We have the following legacy 2.0.7 Spring code: final Map<String, MyClass> secondaryFactories = (Map<String, MyClass>) context.getBeansOfType(MyClass.class, false, true); return (MyClass) context.getBean("myClass"); where context is an instance of org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext Note that we ignore the return value of getBeansOfType(). This works just fine, but the problem is that the call to getBeansOfType() is time-consuming. However, even though we ignore the return value of this call, if we try to eliminate this call, then the instance of MyClass returned by getBean() is not fully initialized. (So, apparently, the call to getBeansOfType() is having some sort of side-effects that we need.) We suspect that the call to getBeansOfType() is overkill and we could do something more lightweight so that the instance of MyClass obtained by the call to getBean() would be fully initialized (but it's not null and no exception is thrown). So, is there a more efficient way of doing this?

  • What configure options were used when building gcc / libstdc++?

    - by OK
    After reading about the problem of passing empty std::string objects between DLLs and EXEs, I am concerned about the configure options used to build my gcc / libstdc++. More specific I want to know if --enable-fully-dynamic-string was used during ./configure. I'm using MinGW 4.4.0 on Windows XP. Does anybody know the configuration used to build this release? Is there a general way to find this information for any installation of GNU gcc? The gcc manual gives me no hint on this topic. Thanks for your input!

  • Do I have to hash twice in C#?

    - by Joe H
    I have code like the following: class MyClass { string Name; int NewInfo; } List<MyClass> newInfo = .... // initialize list with some values Dictionary<string, int> myDict = .... // initialize dictionary with some values foreach(var item in newInfo) { if(myDict.ContainsKey(item.Name)) // 'A' I hash the first time here myDict[item.Name] += item.NewInfo // 'B' I hash the second (and third?) time here else myDict.Add(item.Name, item.NewInfo); } Is there any way to avoid doing two lookups in the Dictionary -- the first time to see if contains an entry, and the second time to update the value? There may even be two hash lookups on line 'B' -- one to get the int value and another to update it.

  • Performance implications of using a variable versus a magic number

    - by Nathan
    I'm often confused by this. I've always been taught to name numbers I use often using variables or constants, but if it reduces the efficiency of the program, should I still do it? Heres an example: private int CenterText(Font font, PrintPageEventArgs e, string text) { int recieptCenter = 125; int stringLength = Convert.ToInt32(e.Graphics.MeasureString(text, font)); return recieptCenter - stringLength / 2; } The above code is using named variables, but runs slower then this code: private int CenterText(Font font, PrintPageEventArgs e, string text) { return 125 - Convert.ToInt32(e.Graphics.MeasureString(text, font) / 2); } In this example, the difference in execution time is minimal, but what about in larger blocks of code?

  • Passing a NSString to another ViewController using classes

    - by Jeff Kranenburg
    I know this insanely simple, but I am re-teaching myself the basics and trying to get my head around this:-) I have one ViewController called MainVC and I have one called ClassVC In ClassVC I have this code: @interface ClassVC : UIViewController { NSString *mainLine; } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *mainLine; @end and I have this in the implementation file: @synthesize mainLine = _mainLine; -(NSString *)_mainLine { _mainLine = @"This a string from a Class"; return _mainLine; } Now I was thinking that if I #import the ClassVC into MainVC I would be able to transfer that string along as well like so: This code is in the viewDidLoad _mainLabel.text = _secondClass.mainLine; NSLog(@"%@", _secondClass.mainLine); But that is not working - so cannot I not pass strings in through this way???

  • Specifying a unique control name when adding at runtime (like the VS IDE)

    - by user316383
    hi, I have a basic IDE for a user control i am building. It allows me to add labels to a panel and move them around, like a very basic form designer. When I add the controls to the panel at runtime, I'd like to give the control a unique name string like how the VS IDE tracks the controls it already has and adds an extra number when it creates the default control name. I have tried checking the controls collection each time a new control is added, but wasnt sure if there was a good string comparison method to return a name with a unique number on the end that hasn't been used yet.

  • Multiple LIKE, OR MySql Queries Match

    - by Codex73
    Search for: 'chemist' Problem: query which will match a string like 'onechemist' but not 'chemist'. SELECT id,name FROM `records` WHERE name LIKE '%". mysql_real_escape_string($q) ."%' This alternate try won't work: SELECT id,name FROM `records` WHERE name LIKE '%". mysql_real_escape_string($q) ."%' OR name LIKE '". mysql_real_escape_string($q) ."%' OR name LIKE '%". mysql_real_escape_string($q) ."' How could I compile the above into one single query that will match any field which has the string or optimize the query into a better expression?

  • Why does the compiler give an ambiguous invocation error when passing inherited types?

    - by Matt Mitchell
    What is happening in the C# compiler to cause the following ambiguous invocation compilation error? The same issue applies to extension methods, or when TestClass is generic and using instance rather than static methods. class Type1 { } class Type2 : Type1 {} class TestClass { public static void Do<T>(T something, object o) where T : Type1 {} public static void Do(Type1 something, string o) {} } void Main() { var firstInstance = new Type1(); TestClass.Do(firstInstance, new object()); // Calls Do(Type1, obj) TestClass.Do(firstInstance, "Test"); // Calls Do<T>(T, string) var secondInstance = new Type2(); TestClass.Do(secondInstance, new object()); // Calls Do(Type1, obj) TestClass.Do(secondInstance, "Test"); // "The call is ambiguous" compile error }
