I have looked at the first 50 top google links for this, and they seem to agree that doctest uses it's own copy of the stdout. If print is used it works if logger is used it logs to the root console. Can someone please demonstrate a working example with a code snippet that will allow me to combine. Note running nose to test doctest will just append the log output at the end of the test, (assuming you set the switches) it does not treat them as a print statement.

• Can't set a cookie in Chrome 5

  Hi, Since today I am facing a tricky issue with Google Chrome that I've just updated to v5. I have a user login process running on my website. Everything works fine on FF 3.6.x and IE 7, but I just can't set any cookie in Google Chrome 5. I'm mentioning 5 because it worked very well before on v4. My PHP script looks like that: $cook = setcookie($cookieName, $value, $expires, '/', '.'.$domain); var_dump($cook, isset($_COOKIE[$cookieName])); I even tried the alternative setrawcookie without any result. $cook = setrawcookie($cookieName, $value, $expires, '/', '.'.$domain); var_dump($cook, isset($_COOKIE[$cookieName])); FF 3.6.x and IE7 output: bool(true) bool(true) Whereas Chrome v5 outputs: bool(true) bool(false) And obviously I see not trace of this cookie in Google Chrome 5. • eclipse xdebug session never completes

  I am trying to get xdebug working with eclipse (3.5) / php (on xampp windows 7). I have verified xdebug is enabled in php - I have the fancy output and my phpinfo shows all the xdebug stuff. I have remote debug on, and typed in the lan ip address on my eclipse machine. When I tell eclipse to debug, it launches the browser and passes the debug URL parameters. That looks OK. However, in eclipse debug perspective it shows 'launching myproject' 57% 'waiting for xdebug session'. It sits there forever. I have turned off windows firewall on both machines. I tried turning implicit flush on. Any ideas?

• Is it possible to force an error in an Integration Services data flow to demonstrate its rollback?

  I have been tasked with demoing how Integration Services handles an error during a data flow to show that no data makes it into the destination. This is an existing package and I want to limit the code changes to the package as much as possible (since this is most likely a one time deal). The scenario that is trying to be understood is a "systemic" failure - the source file disappears midstream, or the file server loses power, etc. I know I can make this happen by having the Error Output of the source set to Failure and introducing bad data but I would like to do something lighter than that. I suppose I could add a Script Transform task and look for a certain value and throw an error but I was hoping someone has come up with something easier / more elegant. Thanks, Matt

  Having some trouble with the Migrations in Sequel and could use another set of eyes. I am running a migration that looks ok but no table is created. It is definitely connecting because I can see the schema_info table has been created. -M 0/1 changes the version as you would expect but still no table. I have a ListBox in Class1 view which displays Class2. How to map the output of the ListBox back to IList Class2s property of Class1? I am able to display the values in the ListBox but unable to map back the SelectListItem to IList.

• Math algorithm question

  I'm not sure if this can be done without some determining factor....but wanted to see if someone knew of a way to do this. I want to create a shifting scale for numbers. Let's say I have the number 26000. I want the outcome of this algorithm to be 6500; or 25% of the original number. But if I have the number 5000, I want the outcome to be 2500; or 50% of the original number. The percentages don't have to be exact, this is just an example. I just want to have like a sine wave sort of thing. As the input number gets higher, the output number is a lower percentage of the input. Does that make sense?

  Hey, I don't know much about SEO and how web spiders work, so forgive my ignorance here. I'm creating a site (using ASP.NET-MVC) which has areas that displays information retrieved from the database. The data is unique to the user, so there's no real server-side output caching going on. However, since the data can contain things the user may not wish to have displayed from search engine results, I'd like to prevent any spiders from accessing the search results page. Are there any special actions I should take to ensure that the search result directory isn't crawled? Also, would a spider even crawl a page that's dynamically generated and would any actions preventing certain directories being search mess up my search engine rankings? edit: I should add, I'm reading up on robots.txt protocol, but it relies on co-operation from the web crawler. However, I'd also like to prevent any data-mining users who will ignore the robots.txt file. I appreciate any help!

  Hi, The background of my question is associated with Tesseract, the free OCR engine (1985-1995 by HP, now hosting in Google). It specifically requires an input file and an output file; the argument only takes filename (not stream / binary string), so in order to use the wrapper API such as pytesser and / or python-tesser.py, the OCR temp files must be created. I, however, have a lot of images need to OCR; frequent disk write and remove is inevitable (and of course the performance hit). The only choice I could think about is changing the wrapper class and point the temp file to RAM disk, which bring this problem up. If you have better solution, please let me know. Thanks a lot. -M

  With Backbone, I'm trying to update and save to the server just one attribute: currentUser.save({hide_explorer_tutorial: 'true'}); but I don't want to send all the other attributes. Some of them are actually the output of methods on the server-side and so they are not actually true attributes with setter functions. Currently I'm using unset(attribute_name) to remove all the attributes that I don't want to update on the server. Problem is those attributes are then no longer available for local use. Suggestions on how to only save certain attributes to the server?

• Turn off enclosing <p> tags in CKEditor 3.0

  Is there a possibility to turn off the automatic enclosing of all written content within <p></p> in CKEditor 3.x? I tried CKEDITOR.config.enterMode = CKEDITOR.ENTER_BR; but this just changes the inline linebreaks to <br /> while leaving the enclosing paragraph. Currently writing "Test" produces this output <p> Test</p> but I want it to be simply Test Is there a configuration property for this or would another inline editor to be better suited for this?

• Documenting module/class/function bodies in python sphinx docs

  Is there a way with Sphinx documentation to output a function or class body (the code itself) with the autodoc feature? I'm using autodoc to much success. In addition to the docstrings getting pulled in to the documentation I want like a link to click for each function where it will show you the source... is that possible? • Xcode & passing command line arguments

  I just started working with C & Xcode and I've run into a little difficulty. All I want to do is read a file from the command line and see the output in the terminal. I think my problem lies with the path to the file that I want to read in. I'm using a Mac and the file is on my desktop, so the path should be Users/myName/Desktop/words.txt. Is this correct? • how to access webservice from one project to another project

  hi, i have an project with name called(dbservice layer) which is in path: d:\webservice\DBService. here i have an webservice which connects to DB and returns an object of an class. once i added an reference here i get an url:http://localhost:2371/Jobs.svc now i have another project name (UILayer) whic is in path: E:\School\UILayer i added an service reference here with url as http://localhost:2371/Jobs.svc but i get an messgae telling service is unable why is that happening. if both my webserivce layer and ui layer are in same project. then i able to use the webserive in the ui layer. and get the required output so i wanted to know is there any way we can acesss the webserive from one project to another project thanks in advance prince

• Can one prevent Genshi from parsing HTML entities?

  I have the following Python code using Genshi (simplified): with open(pathToHTMLFile, 'r') as f: template = MarkupTemplate(f.read()) finalPage = template.generate().render('html', doctype = 'html') The source HTML file contains entities such as &copy;, &trade; and &reg;. Genshi replaces these with their UTF-8 character, which causes problems with the viewer (the output is used as a stand-alone file, not a response to a web request) that eventually sees the resulting HTML. Is there any way to prevent Genshi from parsing these entities? The more common ones like &amp; are passed through just fine.
