  • css & horizontal scrolling

    - by zen
    One of my most favorite websites is that of the Oxford Hotel in Romania. I like the simplicity of the site and how it flows. I am trying to create a similar scrolling effect using jquery and I've been somewhat successful to a point. My trouble is with css... I am not a wizard in that department. Anyway,...my questions! 1. How can I first make sure that the ".box" class will be in the center of the page when the corresponding link is clicked? Right now it positions itself on the left. 2. Then, how can I tweak this code so that the user only can see the width of the screen and not the browser scroller/the rest of my ".box" divs? Refer to the oxford link if you need to see an example of what I'd like to achieve. This is a portion of my current CSS. body { background: #f2f2f2; text-align:left; color:#666; font-size:14px; font-family:georgia, 'time new romans', serif; margin:0 auto; padding:0; } #menu { background: #333333; position: fixed; top: 0px; left: 0; border: 1px solid #000; clear: both; float: left; font-family: helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18px; text-transform: uppercase; margin: 0; padding: 18px; z-index: 500; filter: alpha(opacity=75); opacity: .75; } #menu ul{ list-style-type: none; margin: 0; padding: 0; } #menu ul li{ list-style-type: none; color: #777; display: inline; margin: 0; padding: 0 10px 0 10px; } #menu ul li a{ text-decoration: none; list-style-type: none; color: #777; display: inline; margin: 0; padding: 0; } #menu ul li a:hover{ text-decoration: none; list-style-type: none; color: #fff; display: inline; margin: 0; padding: 0; } #container { position: absolute; top: 120px; width: 70000px; margin: 0; padding: 0; } .box { background: white; border: 3px dashed #f2f2f2; width: 600px; float: left; font-size: 10px; line-height: 15px; margin: 0; padding: 5px 30px 30px 30px; }

  • XSL-FO: Force Wrap on Table Entries

    - by Ace
    I'm having an issue where when I publish my modspecs to pdf (XSL-FO). My tables are having issues, where the content of a cell will overflow its column into the next one. How do I force a break on the text so that a new line is created instead? I can't manually insert zero-space characters since the table entries are programmatically entered. I'm looking for a simple solution that I can just simply add to docbook_pdf.xsl (either as a xsl:param or xsl:attribute) EDIT: Here is where I'm at currently: <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="2.0" xmlns:fo="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Format"> <xsl:import href="urn:docbkx:stylesheet"/> ...(the beginning of my stylesheet for pdf generation, e.g. header and footer content stuff) <xsl:template match="text()"> <xsl:call-template name="intersperse-with-zero-spaces"> <xsl:with-param name="str" select="."/> </xsl:call-template> </xsl:template> <xsl:template name="intersperse-with-zero-spaces"> <xsl:param name="str"/> <xsl:variable name="spacechars"> &#x9;&#xA; &#x2000;&#x2001;&#x2002;&#x2003;&#x2004;&#x2005; &#x2006;&#x2007;&#x2008;&#x2009;&#x200A;&#x200B; </xsl:variable> <xsl:if test="string-length($str) &gt; 0"> <xsl:variable name="c1" select="substring($str, 1, 1)"/> <xsl:variable name="c2" select="substring($str, 2, 1)"/> <xsl:value-of select="$c1"/> <xsl:if test="$c2 != '' and not(contains($spacechars, $c1) or contains($spacechars, $c2))"> <xsl:text>&#x200B;</xsl:text> </xsl:if> <xsl:call-template name="intersperse-with-zero-spaces"> <xsl:with-param name="str" select="substring($str, 2)"/> </xsl:call-template> </xsl:if> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> With this, the long words are successfully broken up in the table cells! Unfortunately, the side effect is that normal text elsewhere (like in a under sextion X) now breaks up words so that they appear on seperate lines. Is there a way to isolate the above process to just tables? EDIT #2 here is what the fo spits out for a single table... <fo:table-row><fo:table-cell padding-start="2pt" padding-end="2pt" padding-top="2pt" ... </fo:block></fo:table-cell></fo:table-row>

  • Search engine solution for Django that actually works?

    - by prometheus
    The story so far: Decided to go with Xapian as search backend because it has all search-engine features I was looking for, knows about Unicode, stemming, has few dependencies and requires no bloated app-server installation on top of it. Tried Django and Haystack (plus xapian-haystack, the backend glue code to tie Haystack to Xapian) because it was advertised on quite some blogs as "working". Did not work. Neither django-haystack nor the xapian-haystack project provide a version combination that actually works together. MASTER from both projects yields an error from Xapian, so it's not stable at all. Haystack 1.0.1 and xapian-haystack 1.0.x/1.1.0 are not API-compatible. Plus, in a minimally working installation of Haystack 1.0.1 and xapian-haystack MASTER, any complex query yields zero results due to errors in either django-haystack or xapian-haystack (I double-verified this), maybe because the unit-tests actually test very simple cases, and no edge-cases at all. Tried Djapian. The source-code is riddled with spelling errors (mind you, in variable names, not comments), documentation is also riddled with ambiguities and outdated information that will never lead to a working installation. Not surprisingly, users rarely ask for features but how to get it working in the first place. Next on the plate: exploring Solr (installing a Java environment plus Tomcat gives me headaches, the machine is RAM- and CPU-constrained), or Lucene (slightly less headaches, but still). Before I proceed spending more time with a solution that might or might not work as advertised, I'd like to know: Did anyone ever get an actual, real-world search solution working in Django? I'm serious. I find it really frustrating reading about "large problems mostly solved", and then realizing that you will never get a working installation from the source-code because, actually, all bloggers dealing with those "mostly solved problems" never went past basic installation and copy-pasting the official tutorials. So here are the requirements: must be able to search for 10-100 terms in one query must handle + (term must be present) and - (term must not be present), AND/OR must handle arbitrary grouping (i.e. parentheses around AND/OR) must allow for Django-ORM filtering before or after fulltext-search (i.e. pre-/post-processing of results with the full set of filters that Django knows about) alternatively, there must be a facility to bulk-fetch the result set and transform it into a QuerySet should be light on the machine, so preferably no humongous JVM and Java-based app-server installation Is there anything out there that does this? I'm not interested in anecdotal evidence, or references to some blog posts that claim it should be working. I'd like to hear from someone who actually has a fully-functional setup working in the real world, under real conditions, with real queries. EDIT: Let me repeat again that I'm not so much interested in anecdotal evidence that someone, somewhere has a somewhat running installation working with unspecified properties. I already went there, I read all the blog posts, mailing lists, I contacted the authors, but when it came to actual implementation of real-world scenarios, nothing ever worked as advertised. Also, and a user below brought that point up as well, considering the TCO of any project, I'm definitely not interested in hearing that someone, somewhere was able to pull it off once a vendor parachuted in an unknown number of specialists to monkey-patch the whole installation with specific domain-knowledge that's documented nowhere. So, please, if you claim you have a working installation that actually satisfies minimum requirements for a full-fledged search (see requirements above), please provide the following so that we can all benefit from a search solution for Django that actually solves the problem: exact Linux distribution, release version, exact release version of Haystack (or equivalent) and release version of search backend, exact release version of the search engine publicly (!) available documentation how to set up all components exactly in the way that your installation was set up such that the minimal requirements above are met. Thank you.

  • Problem with Freetype and OpenGL

    - by Morgan
    Hey, i'm having a weird issue with drawing text in openGL loaded with the Freetype 2 library. Here is a screenshot of what I'm seeing. http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/3316/freetypeweird.png Here are my code bits for loading and rendering my text. class Font { Font(const String& filename) { if (FT_New_Face(Font::ftLibrary, "arial.ttf", 0, &mFace)) { cout << "UH OH!" << endl; } FT_Set_Char_Size(mFace, 16 * 64, 16 * 64, 72, 72); } Glyph* GetGlyph(const unsigned char ch) { if(FT_Load_Char(mFace, ch, FT_LOAD_RENDER)) cout << "OUCH" << endl; FT_Glyph glyph; if(FT_Get_Glyph( mFace->glyph, &glyph )) cout << "OUCH" << endl; FT_BitmapGlyph bitmap_glyph = (FT_BitmapGlyph)glyph; Glyph* thisGlyph = new Glyph; thisGlyph->buffer = bitmap_glyph->bitmap.buffer; thisGlyph->width = bitmap_glyph->bitmap.width; thisGlyph->height = bitmap_glyph->bitmap.rows; return thisGlyph; } }; The relevant glyph information (width, height, buffer) is stored in the following struct struct Glyph { GLubyte* buffer; Uint width; Uint height; }; And finally, to render it, I have this class called RenderFont. class RenderFont { RenderFont(Font* font) { mTextureIds = new GLuint[128]; mFirstDisplayListId=glGenLists(128); glGenTextures( 128, mTextureIds ); for(unsigned char i=0;i<128;i++) { MakeDisplayList(font, i); } } void MakeDisplayList(Font* font, unsigned char ch) { Glyph* glyph = font->GetGlyph(ch); glBindTexture( GL_TEXTURE_2D, mTextureIds[ch]); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D,GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER,GL_LINEAR); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D,GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER,GL_LINEAR); glTexImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, GL_RGBA, glyph->width, glyph->height, 0, GL_ALPHA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, glyph->buffer); glNewList(mFirstDisplayListId+ch,GL_COMPILE); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, mTextureIds[ch]); glBegin(GL_QUADS); glTexCoord2d(0,1); glVertex2f(0,glyph->height); glTexCoord2d(0,0); glVertex2f(0,0); glTexCoord2d(1,0); glVertex2f(glyph->width,0); glTexCoord2d(1,1); glVertex2f(glyph->width,glyph->height); glEnd(); glTranslatef(16, 0, 0); glEndList(); } void Draw(const String& text, Uint size, const TransformComponent* transform, const Color32* color) { glEnable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); glEnable(GL_BLEND); glBlendFunc(GL_SRC_ALPHA, GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA); glTranslatef(100, 250, 0.0f); glListBase(mFirstDisplayListId); glCallLists(text.length(), GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, text.c_str()); glDisable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); glDisable(GL_BLEND); glLoadIdentity(); } private: GLuint mFirstDisplayListId; GLuint* mTextureIds; }; Can anybody see anything weird going on here that would cause the garbled text? It's strange because if I change the font size, or the DPI, then some of the letters that display correctly become garbled, and other letters that were garbled before then display correctly.

  • IE positioning problems

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
    In every browser but IE, on euroworker.no/order the little green arrow under the word "produkt" sits on top of my div container. Why in the world does this not work in IE? Thing is, it works on two pages out of four in IE but all four in other browsers. CSS for the top prgress indicator: #checkoutProgress { width: auto; padding-top: 1em; height: 30px; overflow:hidden; font-family: "Helvetica"; font-size:18px; float:left; /* margin-bottom:22px;*/ margin-left:0px; } #checkoutProgress a { padding: 10px; /*border-width: 2px; margin-right: 20px;*/ text-decoration:none; font-size: 17.26px; color:#dadada; text-transform:uppercase; } #checkoutProgress a:hover { padding: 10px; /*border-width: 2px; margin-right: 20px;*/ text-decoration:none; font-size: 17.26px; color:#818072; } /* completed steps */ #checkoutProgress a.completed { border-color: #70D66D; } /* current step */ #checkoutProgress a.active { /* border-color: #ADD8E6;*/ font-weight: bold; /*background-color: #fffccc; border-color: #ADD8E6;*/ background-image:url(../../upload/urhere_arr.png); background-position:bottom center; /*padding-left:15px;*/ color:#a3a398; } For the box: div #roundbigbox { background-image:url(../../upload/EW_p_og_L.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:5px; padding-top:10px; padding-bottom:0px; width:760px; height:1%; border-width:1px; border-color:#dddddd; border-radius:10px; -moz-border-radius:10px; -webkit-border-radius:10px; z-index:1; position:relative; overflow:hidden; margin:0; margin-bottom:10px; } fieldset css: fieldset.container { border: 0; } And some HTML: <fieldset class="container"> <div id="checkoutProgress" class="progressCart"> <a href="/order" class=" active" id="progressCart"><span>Produkt</span></span></a> <a href="/checkout/selectAddress" class="completed " id="progressAddress"><span>kunde info</span></a> <a href="/checkout/shipping" class="completed " id="progressShipping"><span>Leveringsmåte</span></a> <a href="/checkout/pay" class="" id="progressPayment"><span>Betaling & Fullfør</span><</a> </div> </fieldset> </div> <form action="/order... > <input type="hidden"...> <div id="roundbigbox"> <p id="pro">Produkter</p> More content </div>

  • EXSLT date:format-date template without document() XSLT 1.0

    - by DashaLuna
    Hello guys, I'm using date:format-date template EXSLT file I'm using XSLT 1.0 and MSXML3.0 as the processor. My date:format-date template EXSLT file's declaration is: <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:msxsl="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xslt" xmlns:tui="http://www.travelbound.co.uk/" xmlns:date="http://exslt.org/dates-and-times" exclude-result-prefixes="msxsl tui date" version="1.0"> ... </xsl:stylesheet> I cannot use document() function due to the 3rd party restrictions. So I have changed the months and days (similarly) from XML snippet: <date:months> <date:month length="31" abbr="Jan">January</date:month> <date:month length="28" abbr="Feb">February</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="Mar">March</date:month> <date:month length="30" abbr="Apr">April</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="May">May</date:month> <date:month length="30" abbr="Jun">June</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="Jul">July</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="Aug">August</date:month> <date:month length="30" abbr="Sep">September</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="Oct">October</date:month> <date:month length="30" abbr="Nov">November</date:month> <date:month length="31" abbr="Dec">December</date:month> </date:months> to the variable: <xsl:variable name="months"> <month length="31" abbr="Jan">January</month> <month length="28" abbr="Feb">February</month> <month length="31" abbr="Mar">March</month> <month length="30" abbr="Apr">April</month> <month length="31" abbr="May">May</month> <month length="30" abbr="Jun">June</month> <month length="31" abbr="Jul">July</month> <month length="31" abbr="Aug">August</month> <month length="30" abbr="Sep">September</month> <month length="31" abbr="Oct">October</month> <month length="30" abbr="Nov">November</month> <month length="31" abbr="Dec">December</month> </xsl:variable> And correspondingly, I've changed the code that originally uses document() function from: [from month processing bit of EXSLT stylesheet] <xsl:variable name="month-node" select="document('')/*/date:months/date:month[number($month)]" /> to use MSXML3.0 node-set function: <xsl:variable name="month-node" select="msxsl:node-set($months)/month[number($month)]" /> So I assumed that this would work. According to the EXLT instructions "The format pattern string is interpreted as described for the JDK 1.1 SimpleDateFormat class." [I used current version]. I'm specifing the month in accordance to SimpleDateFormat class as 'dd MMMMM yyyy' so that the month will be the full month's name, for example January. But it doesn't work :( I've looked in EXSLT stylesheet and it has got the logic to do that. Also there is logic to display the name of the week for a day using 'E' pattern, which doesn't work for me. Maybe changing from using document() to variables broke it. Would really appreciate any help. Many thanks!

  • Set attribute to all child elements via xsl:choose

  • XSL to show highest number of copies in catalog.xml file

    - by SANJAY RAO
    In this the catalog.xml file. I have two books who have the same inventory (i.e. 20). I want to write an XSL file that will display the highest number of copies of a book in a catalog. If there are two or more books of the same inventory then they have to be displayed. <catalog> <Book> <sku>12345</sku> <title>Beauty Secrets</title> <condition>New</condition> <current_inventory>20</current_inventory> <price>99.99</price> </Book> <Book> <sku>54321</sku> <title>Picturescapes</title> <current_inventory>20</current_inventory> <condition>New</condition> <price>50.00</price> </Book> <Book> <sku>33333</sku> <title>Tourist Perspectives</title> <condition>New</condition> <current_inventory>0</current_inventory> <price>75.00</price> </Book> <Book> <sku>10001</sku> <title>Fire in the Sky</title> <condition>Used</condition> <current_inventory>0</current_inventory> <price>10.00</price> </Book> </catalog> Below is my catalog3.xsl file which is able to display only one out of the two books: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" > <xsl:variable name="max"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <html> <body> <h2>Titles of Books for which Most Copies are Available</h2> <table border="2"> <tr bgcolor="#9acd32"> <th>Title</th> <th>No of Copies</th> </tr> <xsl:apply-templates/> </table> </body> </html> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="catalog"> <xsl:for-each select="Book"> <xsl:sort select="current_inventory" data-type="number" order="descending"/> <tr> <xsl:if test="position()= 1"> <p><xsl:value-of select="$max = "/></p> <td><xsl:value-of select="title"/></td> <td><xsl:value-of select="current_inventory"/></td> </xsl:if> </tr> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> Could anybody correct me to achieve my goal of displaying all the copies having the same maximum inventory in the catalog. Thanks.

  • Firefox not running jQuery for XHTML output

    - by ScottSEA
    Okay, I did a crappy job of describing the issue in my previous post. I think the discussion got sidetracked from the core issue - so I'm going to try again. Mea Culpa to Elzo Valugi about the aforementioned thread. I have an XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="wtf.xsl"?> <Paragraphs> <Paragraph>Hi</Paragraph> </Paragraphs> Simple enough. I also have a stylesheet to create XHTML output: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes" doctype-system="http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd" doctype-public="-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" omit-xml-declaration="yes"/> <xsl:template match="/*"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <title>FF-JS-XHTML WTF</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="wtf.js"></script> </head> <body> <xsl:apply-templates /> </body> </html> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="Paragraph"> <p> <xsl:apply-templates /> </p> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> Last but not least, I have the following jQuery in toto (wtf.js, from the script tag in the stylesheet): $(function() { alert('Hiya!'); $('<p>Hello</p>').appendTo('body'); }); Extremely simple, but sufficient for the demonstration. When I run this in Internet Explorer, I get the alert 'Hiya!' as well as the expected: Hi Hello but when I run it in Firefox (3.0.1), I still get the alert, but the jQuery does not insert the paragraph into the DOM, and I just get this: Hi If I change the stylesheet to method="html" it works fine, and I get (along with the alert): Hi Hello Why doesn't Firefox run the jQuery with an XHTML document? Has anyone any experience with this problem? EDIT: ADDITIONAL INFO I can successfully insert elements into the documents this way in Firefox (method="xml"): var frag = document.createDocumentFragment(); var p = document.createElement('p'); p.appendChild(document.createTextNode('Ipsum Lorem')); frag.appendChild(p); $('body').append(frag); but I'm running into a similar problem with the .remove() method. It is looking more and more that Firefox doesn't construct a DOM from XML that jQuery can relate to, or somesuch.

  • XmlException - inserting attribute gives "unexpected token" exception

    - by Anders Svensson
    Hi, I have an XmlDocument object in C# that I transform, using XslTransform, to html. In the stylesheet I insert an id attribute in a span tag, taking the id from an element in the XmlDocument. Here is the template for the element: <xsl:template match="word"> <span> <xsl:attribute name="id"><xsl:value-of select="@id"></xsl:value-of></xsl:attribute> <xsl:apply-templates/> </span> </xsl:template> But then I want to process the result document as an xhtml document (using the XmlDocument dom). So I'm taking a selected element in the html, creating a range out of it, and try to load the element using XmlLoad(): wordElem.LoadXml(range.htmlText); But this gives me the following exception: "'598' is an unexpected token. The expected token is '"' or '''. Line 1, position 10." And if I move the cursor over the range.htmlText, I see the tags for the element, and the "id" shows without quotes, which confuses me (i.e.SPAN id=598 instead of SPAN id="598"). To confuse the matter further, if I insert a blank space or something like that in the value of the id in the stylesheet, it works fine, i.e.: <span> <xsl:attribute name="id"><xsl:text> </xsl:text> <xsl:value-of select="@id"></xsl:value-of></xsl:attribute> <xsl:apply-templates/> </span> (Notice the whitespace in the xsl:text element). Now if I move the cursor over the range.htmlText, I see an id with quotes as usual in attributes (and as it shows if I open the html file in notepad or something). What is going on here? Why can't I insert an attribute this way and have a result that is acceptable as xhtml for XmlDocument to read? I feel I am missing something fundamental, but all this surprises me, since I do this sort of transformations using xsl:attribute to insert attributes all the time for other types of xsl transformations. Why doesn't XmlDocument accept this value? By the way, it doesn't matter if it is an id attribute. i have tried with the "class" attribute, "style" etc, and also using literal values such as "style" and setting the value to "color:red" and so on. The compiler always complains it is an unvalid token, and does not include quotes for the value unless there is a whitespace or something else in there (linebreaks etc.). I hope I have provided enough information. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Basically, what I want to accomplish is set an id in a span element in html, select a word in a webbrowser control with this document loaded, and get the id attribute out of the selected element. I've accomplished everything, and can actually do what I want, but only if I use regex e.g. to get the attribute value, and I want to be able to use XmlDocument instead to simply get the value out of the attribute directly. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but if so please tell me. Regards, Anders

  • XML to CSV using XSLT help.

    - by Adam Kahtava
    I'd like to convert XML into CSV using an XSLT, but when applying the XSL from the SO thread titled XML To CSV XSLT against my input: <WhoisRecord> <DomainName>127.0.0.1</DomainName> <RegistryData> <AbuseContact> <Email>[email protected]</Email> <Name>Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Number</Name> <Phone>+1-310-301-5820</Phone> </AbuseContact> <AdministrativeContact i:nil="true"/> <BillingContact i:nil="true"/> <CreatedDate/> <RawText>...</RawText> <Registrant> <Address>4676 Admiralty Way, Suite 330</Address> <City>Marina del Rey</City> <Country>US</Country> <Name>Internet Assigned Numbers Authority</Name> <PostalCode>90292-6695</PostalCode> <StateProv>CA</StateProv> </Registrant> <TechnicalContact> <Email>[email protected]</Email> <Name>Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Number</Name> <Phone>+1-310-301-5820</Phone> </TechnicalContact> <UpdatedDate>2010-04-14</UpdatedDate> <ZoneContact i:nil="true"/> </RegistryData> </WhoisRecord> I end up with: [email protected] Corporation for Assigned Names and Number+1-310-301-5820, , , , ..., 4676 Admiralty Way, Suite 330Marina del ReyUSInternet Assigned Numbers Authority90292-6695CA, [email protected] Corporation for Assigned Names and Number+1-310-301-5820, 2010-04-14, My problem is that, the resulting transformation is missing nodes (like the DomainName element containing the IP address) and some child nodes are concatenated without commas (like the children of AbuseContact). I'd like to see all the XML output in CVS form, and strings like: "[email protected] Corporation for Assigned Names and Number+1-310-301-5820," delimited by commas. My XSL is pretty rusty. Your help is appreciated. :) Here's the XSL I'm using: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="text" encoding="iso-8859-1"/> <xsl:strip-space elements="*" /> <xsl:template match="/*/child::*"> <xsl:for-each select="child::*"> <xsl:if test="position() != last()"><xsl:value-of select="normalize-space(.)"/>, </xsl:if> <xsl:if test="position() = last()"><xsl:value-of select="normalize-space(.)"/><xsl:text> </xsl:text> </xsl:if> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet>

  • Recursive XML through XSLT to XML

    - by Patrick
    Essentially, I have XML structured like this: <A> <B> <1>data</1> <2>data</2> <C> <1>data</1> <2>data</2> <B> <1>data</1> <2>data</2> <C> <B> <1>data</1> <2>data</2> </B> </C> </B> <B> <1>data</1> <2>data</2> </B> </C> </B> </A> I am trying to get the output to look like this: <A> <B 1="data" 2="data"> <C 1="data" 2="data"> <B 1="data" 2="data"> <C> <B 1="data" 2="data" > </B> </C> </B> <B 1="data" 2="data" > </B> </C> </B> </A> I have figured out how to put everything as attributes and start looping through the elements. The issue I am facing is that when trying to get below the first C, nothing happens. Here is my code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:msxsl="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xslt" exclude-result-prefixes="msxsl"> <xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <MenuDataResult> <B> <xsl:apply-templates /> </B> </MenuDataResult> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="B"> <xsl:for-each select="B"> <B ItemID="{B/ItemID/text()}" ItemType="{ItemType/text()}" ItemSubType="{ItemSubType/text()}" ItemTitle="{ItemTitle/text()}" ItemImage="{ItemImage/text()}" ItemImageOverride="{ItemImageOverride/text()}" ItemLink="{ItemLink/text()}" ItemTarget="{ItemTarget/text()}>"> <xsl:for-each select="C"> <xsl:apply-templates select="C"/> </xsl:for-each> </B> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="C"> <C ID="{ID/text()}" Title="{Title/text()}" Template="{Template/text()}" Type="{Type/text()}" Link="{Link/text()}" ParentID="{ParentID/text()}" AncestorID="{AncestorID/text()}" FolderID="{FolderID/text()}" Description="{Description/text()}" Image="{Image/text()}" ImageOverride="{ImageOverride/text()}"> <xsl:for-each select="B"> <xsl:apply-templates select=".//B"/> </xsl:for-each> </C> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet>

  • In XSLT is it possible to use the value of an xpath expression in a call to a template using an par

    - by Cell
    I am performing an xsl transform and in it I call a template with a param using the following code <xsl:call-template name="GenerateColumns"> <xsl:with-param name="curRow" select="$curRow"/> <xsl:with-param name="curCol" select="$curCol + 1"/> </xsl:call-template> This calls a template function which outputs part of a table element in HTML. The curRow and curCol are used to determine which row and column we are in the table. gbl_maxCols is set to the number of columns in an html table <xsl:template name="GenerateColumns"> <xsl:when test="$curCol &lt;= $gbl_maxCols"> <td> <xsl:attribute="colspan"> <xsl:value-of select="/page/column/@skipColumns"/> </xsl:attribute> </xsl:when> </xsl:template> The result of this function is a set of td elements, however some of these elements (those with a skipColumn attribute greater than 1 span more than 1 column, I need to skip this many columns with the next call to generateColumns. this works just like I would expect in the case where I simply increment the curCol param but I have a case where I need to use the value from the xml attribute skipColumns in the math to calculate the value for curCol. In the above case I iterate through all the columns and this works for the majority of my use cases. However in same cases I need to skip over some of the columns and need to pass in that value from the xml attribute to calculate how many columns I need to skip. My naive first attempt was something like this <xsl:call-template name="GenerateColumns"> <xsl:with-param name="curRow" select="$curRow"/> <xsl:with-param name="curCol" select="$curCol + /page/column/@skipColumns"/> </xsl:call-template> But unforutnately this does not seem to work. Is there any way to use an attribute from an xml page in the calculation for the value of a param in xsl. My xml page is something like this (edited heavily since the xml file is rather large) <page> <column name="blank" skipColumns="1"/> <column name="blank" skipColumns="1"/> <column name="test" skipColumns="3"/> <column name="blank" skipColumns="1"/> <column name="test2" skipColumns="6"/> </page> after all of this I would like to have a set of td elements like the following <td></td><td></td><td colSpan="3"></td><td></td><td colSpan="6"></td> if I just iterate through the columns I instead end up with something like this which gives me more td elements than I should have <td></td><td></td><td colSpan="3"></td><td></td><td colSpan="6"></td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td></td> Edited to provide more information

  • How to drill down with jQuery?

    - by Timothy Reed
    I'm new to jQuery so sorry if this sounds stupid but I'm having truble drilling down to other elemnts. • Issue with XSL Criteria

    - by Rachel
    I am using the below piece of XSL to select the id of the text nodes whose content has a given index. This index value in input will be relative to a spcified node whose id value is known. The criteria to select the text node is, The text node content should contain a index say 'i' relative to node say 'n' whose id value i know. 'i' and 'id of n' is got as index and nodeName from the input param as seen in the xsl. Node 'd1e5' has the text content whose index ranges from 1 to 33. When i give an index value greater than 33 i want the below criteria to fail but it does not, [sum((preceding::text(), .)[normalize-space()][. >> //*[@id=$nodeName]]/string-length(.)) ge $index] Input xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" id="d1e1"> <head id="d1e3"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <title id="d1e5">Every document must have a title</title> </head> <body id="d1e9"> <h1 id="d1e11" align="center">Very Important Heading</h1> <p id="d1e13">Since this is just a sample, I won't put much text here.</p> </body> </html> XSL code used: <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" exclude-result-prefixes="xsd" version="2.0"> <xsl:param name="insert-file" as="node()+"> <insert-data><data index="1" nodeName="d1e5"></data><data index="34" nodeName="d1e5"></data></insert-data> </xsl:param> <xsl:param name="nodeName" as="xsd:string" /> <xsl:variable name="main-root" as="document-node()" select="/"/> <xsl:variable name="insert-data" as="element(data)*"> <xsl:for-each select="$insert-file/insert-data/data"> <xsl:sort select="xsd:integer(@index)"/> <xsl:variable name="index" select="xsd:integer(@index)" /> <xsl:variable name="nodeName" select="@nodeName" /> <data text-id="{generate-id($main-root/descendant::text()[sum((preceding::text(), .)[normalize-space()][. >> //*[@id=$nodeName]]/string-length(.)) ge $index][1])}"> </data> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:variable> <xsl:template match="/"> <Output> <xsl:copy-of select="$insert-data" /> </Output> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> Actual output: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Output> <data text-id="d1t8"/> <data text-id="d1t14"/> </Output> Expected output: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Output> <data text-id="d1t8"/> </Output> This solution works fine if index lies between 1 and 33. Any index value greater that 33 causes incorrect text nodes to get selected. I could not understand why the text node 'd1t14' is getting selected. Please share your thoughts.

  • Flatten XML using XSLT but based on nesting level

    - by user2532750
    I'm new to XSLT and I'm trying to write some XSLT that will flatten any given XML such that a new line occurs whenever the nesting level changes. My input can be any XML document, with any number of nested levels so the structure isn't known to the XSLT. Due to the tools available to me, my solution has to use XSLT version 1.0. For example. <?xml version="1.0"?> <ROWSET> <ROW> <CUSTOMER_ID>0</CUSTOMER_ID> <NAME>Default Company</NAME> <BONUSES> <BONUSES_ROW> <BONUS_ID>21</BONUS_ID> <DESCRIPTION>Performance Bonus</DESCRIPTION> </BONUSES_ROW> <BONUSES_ROW> <BONUS_ID>26</BONUS_ID> <DESCRIPTION>Special Bonus</DESCRIPTION> </BONUSES_ROW> </BONUSES> </ROW> <ROW> <CUSTOMER_ID>1</CUSTOMER_ID> <NAME>Dealer 1</NAME> <BONUSES> <BONUSES_ROW> <BONUS_ID>27</BONUS_ID> <DESCRIPTION>June Bonus</DESCRIPTION> <BONUS_VALUES> <BONUS_VALUES_ROW> <VALUE>10</VALUE> <PERCENT>N</PERCENT> </BONUS_VALUES_ROW> <BONUS_VALUES_ROW> <VALUE>11</VALUE> <PERCENT>Y</PERCENT> </BONUS_VALUES_ROW> </BONUS_VALUES> </BONUSES_ROW> </BONUSES> </ROW> <ROWSET> needs to becomes.... 0, Default Company 21, Performance Bonus 26, Special Bonus 1, Dealer 1 27, June Bonus 10, N 11, Y The XSLT I've written so far is... <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="text" encoding="iso-8859-1"/> <xsl:strip-space elements="*" /> <xsl:template match="/*/child::*"> <xsl:apply-templates select="*"/> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="*"> <xsl:value-of select="text()" /> <xsl:if test="position()!= last()"><xsl:text>,</xsl:text></xsl:if> <xsl:if test="position()= last()"><xsl:text>&#xD;</xsl:text></xsl:if> <xsl:apply-templates select="./child::*"/> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> but my output just isn't correct, with gaps and unnecessary data. 0,Default Company, ,21,Performance Bonus 26,Special Bonus 1,Dealer 1, 27,June Bonus, ,10,N 11,Y It seems there needs to be a check as whether or not a node can contain text, but I'm stuck and could do with an XSLT expert's help.

  • jQuery tabs error when used with jTemplates

    - by tessa
    I am using jTemplates to format data returned from a json query. I am trying to transform the div with the id "fundingDialogTabs" into jQuery tabs after the template is processed. It renders the tab buttons, but both fragment1 and fragment2 divs are showing at the same time. I get the error "jQuery UI Tabs: Mismatching fragment identifier" when clicking on the fragment2 tab. • Iteration, or copying in XSL, based on a count. How do I do it?

    - by LOlliffe
    I'm trying to create an inventory list (tab-delimited text, for the output) from XML data. The catch is, I need to take the line that I created, and list it multiple times (iterate ???), based on a number found in the XML. So, from the XML below: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <library> <aisle label="AA"> <row>bb</row> <shelf>a</shelf> <books>4</books> </aisle> <aisle label="BB"> <row>cc</row> <shelf>d</shelf> <books>3</books> </aisle> </library> I need to take the value found in "books", and then copy the text line that number of times. The result looking like this: Aisle Row Shelf Titles AA bb a AA bb a AA bb a AA bb a BB cc d BB cc d BB cc d So that the inventory taker, can then write in the titles found on each shelf. I have the basic structure of my XSL, but I'm not sure how to do the "iteration" portion. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" exclude-result-prefixes="xs" xmlns:xd="http://www.oxygenxml.com/ns/doc/xsl" version="2.0"> <xsl:output omit-xml-declaration="yes"/> <xsl:variable name="tab" select="'&#09;'"/> <xsl:variable name="newline" select="'&#10;'"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <!-- Start Spreadsheet header --> <xsl:text>Aisle</xsl:text> <xsl:value-of select="$tab"/> <xsl:text>Row</xsl:text> <xsl:value-of select="$tab"/> <xsl:text>Shelf</xsl:text> <xsl:value-of select="$tab"/> <xsl:text>Titles</xsl:text> <xsl:value-of select="$newline"/> <!-- End spreadsheet header --> <!-- Start entering values from XML --> <xsl:for-each select="library/aisle"> <xsl:value-of select="@label"/> <xsl:value-of select="$tab"/> <xsl:value-of select="row"/> <xsl:value-of select="$tab"/> <xsl:value-of select="shelf"/> <xsl:value-of select="$tab"/> <xsl:value-of select="$tab"/> <xsl:value-of select="$newline"/> </xsl:for-each> <!-- End of values from XML --> <!-- Iteration of the above needed, based on count value in "books" --> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> Any help would be greatly appreciated. For starters, is "iteration" the right term to be using for this? Thanks!

  • Why does this XSL fails to retrieve value from xml ?

    - by Pavitar
    Following is an extract of the XSL stylesheet that I have written. It says my '.xsl' is well formed but it somehow does not retrieve values from the xml,instead jus pastes the header and table headings. EDIT <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:fo="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Format" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:fn="http://www.w3.org/2005/xpath-functions"> <xsl:template match="/" > <html> <head> <title>GlenMark Pharma</title> </head> <h1 align="center"><font face="Monotype Corsiva" color="red">GlenMarkPharma</font></h1> <body> <table> <tbody> <tr> <th>ID</th> <th>ENAME</th> <th>Mobile</th> <th>EMAIL</th> <th>PWD</th> </tr> <xsl:for-each select="employees/employee"> <tr> <td><xsl:value-of select="@empID" /></td> <td><xsl:value-of select="name" /></td> <td><xsl:value-of select="mobile" /></td> <td><xsl:value-of select="email" /></td> <td><xsl:value-of select="pwd" /></td> </tr> </xsl:for-each> </tbody> </table> </body> </html> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> Here is my XML doc: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="MyfirstXsl.xsl"?> <!DOCTYPE employees SYSTEM "Mydtd.dtd"> <me:employees xmlns:me="[email protected]" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="[email protected] Mycomplex.xsd"> <me:employee empID="EMP101"> <me:name>Vicky</me:name> <me:mobile>9870582356</me:mobile> <me:email>[email protected]</me:email> <me:pwd>&defPWD;</me:pwd> </me:employee> </me:employees> I have also tried writing: <xsl:for-each select="employees/employee"> <tr> <td><xsl:value-of select="@empID" /></td> <td><xsl:value-of select="me:name" /></td> in the XSL since I have an alias to the namespace in my XML Doc.But it gives me an error of Invalid Pre-fix.I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

  • Why is the dropdown menu aligned to the left?

    - by fmz
    I am working on a dropdown navigation for a site and am having some trouble with the dropdown portion aligning with the parent category - it shifts all the way to the left. Here is the html: <ul class="dropdown"> <li><a href="#" id="home">Home</a></li> <li><a href="#" id="about">About Us</a> <ul class="sub-menu"> <li><a href="#">Our History</a></li> <li><a href="#">Our Process</a></li> <li><a href="#">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="#">Financing</a></li> <li><a href="#">Testimonials</a></li> <li><a href="#">Subcontractors</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#" id="personal">Personal Banking</a></li> <li><a href="#" id="commercial">Commercial Banking</a></li> <li><a href="#" id="service">Customer Service</a> <ul class="sub-menu"> <li><a href="#">Our History</a></li> <li><a href="#">Our Process</a></li> <li><a href="#">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="#">Financing</a></li> <li><a href="#">Testimonials</a></li> <li><a href="#">Subcontractors</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#" id="investors">Investor Relations</a></li> <li><a href="#" id="contact">Contact Us</a></li> </ul> Here is the CSS: ul.dropdown { position: relative; background: #4e8997; height: 40px; padding-left: 5px; } ul.dropdown li { float: left; zoom: 1; } ul.dropdown li a { display: block; margin-top: 5px; padding: .5em .6em; color: #fff; font: bold 14px "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, sans-serif; text-transform: uppercase; border: none; } ul.dropdown a:hover { background-color: #c29c5d; color: #fff; } ul.dropdown a:active { background-color: #c29c5d; color: #fff; } /* LEVEL TWO */ ul.dropdown ul { width: 200px; visibility: hidden; position: absolute; top:100%; left: 0; } ul.dropdown ul li { font: 13px "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, sans-serif; border-bottom: 1px solid #ccc; float: none; color: #fff; background-color: #c29c5d; height: 20px; } ul.dropdown ul li a { display: inline-block; } ul.dropdown ul li a:hover { background-color: #a2834d; color: #fff; height: 20px; } I tried changing the ul.dropdown ul to position relative, but that breaks the navigation. I would appreciate some help getting this corrected. Thanks.

  • Drawing outlines around organic shapes

    - by ThunderChunky_SF
    One thing that seems particularly easy to do in the Flash IDE but difficult to do with code is to outline an organic shape. In the IDE you can just use the inkbucket tool to draw a stroke around something. Using nothing but code it seems much trickier. One method I've seen is to add a glow filter to the shape in question and just mess with the strength. But what if i want to only show the outline? What I'd like to do is to collect all of the points that make up the edge of the shape and then just connect the dots. I've actually gotten so far as to collect all of the points with a quick and dirty edge detection script that I wrote. So now I have a Vector of all the points that makeup my shape. How do I connect them in the proper sequence so it actually looks like the original object? For anyone who is interested here is my edge detection script: // Create a new sprite which we'll use for our outline var sp:Sprite = new Sprite(); var radius:int = 50; sp.graphics.beginFill(0x00FF00, 1); sp.graphics.drawCircle(0, 0, radius); sp.graphics.endFill(); sp.x = stage.stageWidth / 2; sp.y = stage.stageHeight / 2; // Create a bitmap data object to draw our vector data var bmd:BitmapData = new BitmapData(sp.width, sp.height, true, 0); // Use a transform matrix to translate the drawn clip so that none of its // pixels reside in negative space. The draw method will only draw starting // at 0,0 var mat:Matrix = new Matrix(1, 0, 0, 1, radius, radius); bmd.draw(sp, mat); // Pass the bitmap data to an actual bitmap var bmp:Bitmap = new Bitmap(bmd); // Add the bitmap to the stage addChild(bmp); // Grab all of the pixel data from the bitmap data object var pixels:Vector.<uint> = bmd.getVector(bmd.rect); // Setup a vector to hold our stroke points var points:Vector.<Point> = new Vector.<Point>; // Loop through all of the pixels of the bitmap data object and // create a point instance for each pixel location that isn't // transparent. var l:int = pixels.length; for(var i:int = 0; i < l; ++i) { // Check to see if the pixel is transparent if(pixels[i] != 0) { var pt:Point; // Check to see if the pixel is on the first or last // row. We'll grab everything from these rows to close the outline if(i <= bmp.width || i >= (bmp.width * bmp.height) - bmp.width) { pt = new Point(); pt.x = int(i % bmp.width); pt.y = int(i / bmp.width); points.push(pt); continue; } // Check to see if the current pixel is on either extreme edge if(int(i % bmp.width) == 0 || int(i % bmp.width) == bmp.width - 1) { pt = new Point(); pt.x = int(i % bmp.width); pt.y = int(i / bmp.width); points.push(pt); continue; } // Check to see if the previous or next pixel are transparent, // if so save the current one. if(i > 0 && i < bmp.width * bmp.height) { if(pixels[i - 1] == 0 || pixels[i + 1] == 0) { pt = new Point(); pt.x = int(i % bmp.width); pt.y = int(i / bmp.width); points.push(pt); } } } }
