• FTPS SSH Host Key after IP Address Change

  I have a Secure FTP (FTPS) server that my remote sites to upload files to daily via scripted routines that run. I have had issues in the past when upgrading hardware and deploying new servers causing the RSA Fingerprint to change for that server. Then all my remote sites can't connect until I have the old key removed (usually via ssh_keygen -r myserver.com). I now have to change the IP address for myserver.com and I wondered if there is anyway to proactively generate new host keys so that when the server address changes all my FTPS client remote sites don't break?

  Hello I started getting a strange message when I start my computer. An icon appears in the system tray, and a popup tells me "Encrypting file system - Back up your file encryption key". I know what EFS is, but I don't use it. To my knowledge, I don't have any encrypted files on my partition. I have searched using Total Commander on all the partitions for files that have the "encrypted" attribute, but I found nothing. So I don't have any encrypted files. Does anyone know what I did to get this message?

  Hello everyone, I am using a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.5. I am new to this development environment, and previously worked on Windows. I have tried that Fn + Right arrow on Mac works as "END" key on Windows -- which makes cursor move to the end of line, for most application like Word for Mac -- I have tried it works. But I tried Fn + Right Arrow does not work for current question input box of SuperUser. I am wondering how to solve this issue and why? It seems like it is possible, according to the answer.microsoft.com the key will work for 64bit or 32bit.

  Im Running on Centos, the trouble is when i restart my server i need to start my apache and varnish service I use this to start both of them service httpd restart && service varnish restart But i would likw both of them to start when i reboot the server I read i could use this chkconfig httpd on But this is only for apache could i do this chkconfig varnish on Finally when i do y usual start of httpd , i am asked for my api key for SSL , am i able to incorporate this into resarting both varnish and httpd on start up. Or am i doomed to run this command everytime i resart

• Extract cert and private key from JKS keystore to use it in Apache2 httpd

  I tried to find this but no luck. I created a JKS keystore and generated a CSR, then imported the signed cert and intermediate and root CA certs. Used this keystore on Tomcat without problems. Now I want to use the same cert for Apache2 http server on the same machine. I actually want to set up mod_jk to redirect /*.jsp and servlets paths to Tomcat and serve the static content and PHP from Apache2. I tried to convert JKS to PKCS12 with keytool to afterwards handle it with openssl with a command like this: keytool -importkeystore -srckeystore foo.jks \ -destkeystore foo.p12 \ -srcstoretype jks \ -deststoretype pkcs12 The problem is only the cert is exported but not the rest of the chain. I actually used this keystore on Apache and it complained about key and cert don't matching (not sure if it's related to the chain or not). Can anyone point me on the right direction? I am not a server guy and I am kinda lost with all this things :-(

• USB key to pass password in Centos 6

  I had a room mate that put a livecd in my desktop and looked around on my machine. I caught him in the act and threw him out. I haven't had a room mate for a while now and so as to avoid the livecd issue again I encrypted the hard drive, the machine is running centos 6.3. Is there anyway that I can avoid typing the password in each time if I have usb key in the machine to feed the password to the system? Additional question. Is there anything you can suggest to solve the problem I have ? Thanks

• WEP key not working on laptop running Ubuntu

  I can't connect to my router via wifi from my laptop (running Ubuntu) even if I'm 100% sure the WEP key I punch in is correct. It works via LAN though. I'm also not able to ping localhost 127.0.0.1. I had some problems setting up the radio on my network card but I think that that works since it finds some wireless networks. (Although it's much much faster than Windows it's useless since I can't download any libraries for development.) What could be wrong with my setup?

  I'm a newbie to AHK, learning the basics. I'm using Notepad as an example - I want to hit the Cancel key every time I close Notepad and it asks if I want to Save/Don't Save/Cancel. I've come up with the script below and it works once but then I have to reload the script to do it again. I want it to hit Cancel every time the question box comes up.   I've recently upgraded my iMac to OSX Mavericks. I'm finding that when I press Control-Shift-N something is immediately locking my screen and making it dark. I can still hear my streaming audio playing, so I guess it's not logging me out. I've looked carefully through the list of keyboard shortcuts in System Preferences, and that key combo isn't mentioned anywhere. Is there any place I can get a list of all active keyboard shortcuts? Is there any terminal command I can run to see which application has taken over this keypress combination? It's really annoying because I habitually use that combo in PHPStorm! (And yes, I have checked the keymaps there too.)

• Need help solving "Disk Error Press any key to restart" after blue screen in XP.

  I have had a couple of BSOD's lately and after the last one I got the disk error message. The disk shows up during the BIOS portion of the boot. It is in a Dell Precision 690 so the F12 key gives me a boot menu. I can boot from the utility partition, and if I specifically select the hard drive from the boot menu it will boot fine. Any ideas why if I just try to do an unattended boot, it give the error listed in the title?

  (i'm just trying to find what am I missing...) Assuming John have a clear text message , he can create a regular hash ( like md5 , or sha256) and then encrypt the message. John can now send Paul the message + its (clear text)hash and Paul can know if the message was altered. ( decrypt and then compare hashes). Even if an attacker can change the encrpyted data ( without decrypt) - - when paul will open the message - and recalc the hash - it wont generate the same hash as the one john sent him. so why do we need hash by key ?

• Citrix ICA Client on Mac shift key doesn't work as expected

  When I'm connected to a Windows XP computer from my Mac OS X 10.6 using the Citrix ICA Client, it seems that the shift key only works for the first letter typed after pressing shift. In order to type multiple uppercase letters, like ICA, I must either press caps lock, or press and release shift before each character. I've tried switching between standard and enhanced keyboard, as well as the 'Send Special Keys Unchanged' option, but none of these seem to affect the issue. The problem doesn't occur when I switch from the Citrix window to a regular Mac window.

I am unable to even start on a script as I don't know where to begin. • Issue with Capslock key on Laptop

  For some reason my laptop has a mind of its own and the Caps Lock tends to come on whenever it feels like it. I thought it was an software issue from that reasoning, but I later cleared the OS and then reinstalled it hoping to fix the problem, but it didn't. Not only does it do that it also comes on and off whenever the letters A, S, and left shift key are pushed. So I assummed it was a keyboard issue and that the keyboard needs to be replaced, but it has one of those touch pad cap lock buttons also, because even when I press that button it tends to not react. So how can that be fixed with a keyboard replacement or is that connected still? • VMWare and ALT GR key results in missing characters

  For some odd reason WMware products hijack the AltGy-key despite I make sure that other keys are used as hot keys to release mouse and keyboard from the virtual machine. While this is not a problem for US keyboards, european however who extensively use AltGR for characters such as pipe (|), at-sign (@), left brace ({) and right brace (}). This seem to happen both in Windows and Linux and I can not seem to find a solution that works for both. :( Anyone have an idea how to fix this without the need to modify the guest OS every time?   in Windows, win+ <-- and win+ --> snap any window to the left/right side of a monitor, and if pressed again, snap the window to the other monitor, in multi-monitor environment. when a window is maximized, it will "restore" the window first, and at the next win+ <-- key the window will snap. this is very easy to use and remember. But on Linux a maximized window is not affected by win+ <-- , and the user must explicitly un-maximize it (win+down. the window is not moved to another monitor a side-snapped window cannot be resized - it behaves like a maximized window. is there another program that behaves like Windows, or I should write one by myself? (i'm using ubuntu/mint)

• Unable to access a registry key

  I wondered why some file associations were broken and stumnled upon a nasty problem: I cannot access the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes. As you can see above, I cannot view its current permissions, nor its owner (which should by SYSTEM). And no matter what I tried I'm unable to fix it. Trying to change the owner gives me a permission denied (also when trying from the Administrator account). RegDacl, which seemed to help another user, also aborts with a permission denied error. Any suggestions how to repair this? If I cannot repair this I guess I have to dump that user account and create a new one. Are there any "diff-like" tools out there to help copy over registry keys?
