• Hide overflow in Silverlight TextBox

    - by chrisbz
    I have a Silverlight TextBox control that is inside of a Grid column with the width set to 'Auto', so the TexBox's width expands/contracts with the browser window is resized. Unfortunately, when the number of characters entered into the textbox exceeds the textbox's width, the textbox grows to accommodate it. Are there any properties that can be applied to the textbox that will force it to not expand with the number of characters inside of it? Thanks.

  • What is better: set up underestimated or overestimated deadlines?

    - by sergdev
    Suppose you are a project manager. You can estimate an effort in days for specific task for specific developer. After performing estimation you obtain some min and max values. After this you delegate a task to developer. Actually you also set up deadline. Which estimation is better to use when set up deadline: min or max? As I see min estimation can result in stress for developer, max estimation can result in using all the time which is allocated to developer even if task can be complete faster (so called Student syndrome). Which other pros and cons of two approaches? Small clarification: I speak about setting up deadlines for subordinates when delegating the task, NOT for reporting to my boss.

  • Silverlight: stretching to remaining space in StackPanel

    - by crimson13
    I have a vertical StackPanel with two elements: a Button and a ListBox. How can I have the ListBox stretch to the remaining page height? <StackPanel Height="Auto" Width="Auto">  <ListBox Height="Auto" Width="Auto" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"/> </StackPanel> Note that I got this to work using a Grid: <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="*"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions>  <data:DataGrid x:Name="MyContent" Margin="0,5" Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="0"/> </Grid>

    - by Zeeshan Rang
    Hi Well the heading is basically what my question is: How can I have different colors for different tabs in SuperTabNavigator. Below is the code to my SuperTabNavigator with three tabs: <containers:SuperTabNavigator x="0" y="10" width="100%" height="100%" right="1" top="1" left="1" bottom="1" color="black" creationPolicy="all" id="tab_nav" popUpButtonPolicy="{SuperTabNavigator.POPUPPOLICY_OFF}"> <mx:Canvas label="My Friends" id="friends_container" width="100%" height="100%"/> <mx:Canvas label="My Groups" id="groups_container" width="100%" height="100%"/> <mx:Canvas label="Address Book" id="address_container" width="100%" height="100%"/> </containers:SuperTabNavigator> I want to have different color for every different tab. How should I do this. Thank you Zeeshan

  • How to find out exact version of iPhone SDK for conditional compilation?

    - by Jochen
    I'm looking for a macro that specified the exact version of the iPhone SDK used for compilation. This is needed because when compiling with (and only with) SDK 3.0, I need to add some additional code. __IPHONE_OS_VERSION_MIN_REQUIRED is not the right choice here, since it can be set by the user with parameter -mmacosx-version-min. For example, a user can compile with min version -mmacosx-version-min=3.0 in SDK 3.1, so a check for __IPHONE_OS_VERSION_MIN_REQUIRED == 30000 would be true, even if the user is compiling with SDK 3.1. Any help is appreciated. Regards, Jochen

  • Centering Div in the middle of the page

    - by shinjuo
    What is the best way to center the entire page in the middle of the web browser?

test.html

  • Resize transparent images using C#

    - by MartinHN
    Does anyone have the secret formula to resizing transparent images (mainly GIFs) without ANY quality loss - what so ever? I've tried a bunch of stuff, the closest I get is not good enough. Take a look at my main image: http://www.thewallcompany.dk/test/main.gif And then the scaled image: http://www.thewallcompany.dk/test/ScaledImage.gif //Internal resize for indexed colored images void IndexedRezise(int xSize, int ySize) { BitmapData sourceData; BitmapData targetData; AdjustSizes(ref xSize, ref ySize); scaledBitmap = new Bitmap(xSize, ySize, bitmap.PixelFormat); scaledBitmap.Palette = bitmap.Palette; sourceData = bitmap.LockBits(new Rectangle(0, 0, bitmap.Width, bitmap.Height), ImageLockMode.ReadOnly, bitmap.PixelFormat); try { targetData = scaledBitmap.LockBits(new Rectangle(0, 0, xSize, ySize), ImageLockMode.WriteOnly, scaledBitmap.PixelFormat); try { xFactor = (Double)bitmap.Width / (Double)scaledBitmap.Width; yFactor = (Double)bitmap.Height / (Double)scaledBitmap.Height; sourceStride = sourceData.Stride; sourceScan0 = sourceData.Scan0; int targetStride = targetData.Stride; System.IntPtr targetScan0 = targetData.Scan0; unsafe { byte* p = (byte*)(void*)targetScan0; int nOffset = targetStride - scaledBitmap.Width; int nWidth = scaledBitmap.Width; for (int y = 0; y < scaledBitmap.Height; ++y) { for (int x = 0; x < nWidth; ++x) { p[0] = GetSourceByteAt(x, y); ++p; } p += nOffset; } } } finally { scaledBitmap.UnlockBits(targetData); } } finally { bitmap.UnlockBits(sourceData); } } I'm using the above code, to do the indexed resizing. Does anyone have improvement ideas?

  • TRibbon's large button's image is not centered...any ideas? easy to demonstrate at design-time.

    - by X-Ray
    i'm using delphi 2009 (updates 1, 2, 3, 4). i'm seeing something quite peculiar. the image on the button is not centered in the button when i have a large button with a large glyph! rather than being centered, the left part of the glyph starts at the center of the button. a clue is that when i: go into the action editor and select the action use the ImageIndex combobox in the object inspector, the list is empty (normally i'd see the available images in the combobox). it seems as though there's an image width property i've failed to set or an imagelist not correctly configured. i've expected the glyph on a large button should be 32x32. try the following: paste these components into an empty form add a 32x32 image to the image list set the Action1 imageindex to 0 you'll immediately see what i mean! can anyone tell me why it looks that way? i find it interesting that the ribbon demo app doesn't show this problem. i even tried the same image. thank you! object ActionManager1: TActionManager ActionBars = < item Items = < item Action = Action1 Caption = '&Action1' ImageIndex = 0 CommandProperties.ButtonSize = bsLarge end> ActionBar = RibbonGroup1 end> LargeDisabledImages = img3232 LargeImages = img3232 Left = 376 Top = 184 StyleName = 'Ribbon - Luna' object Action1: TAction Caption = 'Action1' ImageIndex = 0 end end object Ribbon1: TRibbon Left = 0 Top = 0 Width = 693 Height = 147 ActionManager = ActionManager1 Caption = 'Ribbon1' Tabs = < item Caption = 'RibbonPage1' Page = RibbonPage1 end> ExplicitLeft = 232 ExplicitTop = 80 ExplicitWidth = 0 DesignSize = ( 693 147) StyleName = 'Ribbon - Luna' object RibbonPage1: TRibbonPage Left = 0 Top = 54 Width = 692 Height = 93 Caption = 'RibbonPage1' Index = 0 object RibbonGroup1: TRibbonGroup Left = 4 Top = 3 Width = 54 Height = 86 ActionManager = ActionManager1 Caption = 'RibbonGroup1' GroupIndex = 0 end end end object img3232: TImageList Height = 32 Width = 32 Left = 376 Top = 256 end

  • What might make "Xclients" be executed twice when boot system?

    - by ablmf
    For some special purpose, I modified /etc/X11/xinit/Xclients to start firefox instead of start Desktop Environment. # Argh! Nothing good is installed. Fall back to twm { # gosh, neither fvwm95 nor fvwm2 is available; # fall back to failsafe settings [ -x /usr/bin/xsetroot ] && /usr/bin/xsetroot -solid '#222E45' # if [ -x /usr/bin/xclock ] ; then # /usr/bin/xclock -geometry 100x100-5+5 & # elif [ -x /usr/bin/xclock ] ; then # /usr/bin/xclock -geometry 100x100-5+5 & # fi # if [ -x /usr/bin/xterm ] ; then # /usr/bin/xterm -geometry 80x50-50+150 & # fi if [ -x /usr/bin/firefox ]; then /usr/bin/firefox -chrome http://127.0.0.1/ -width 1280 -height 768 fi # if [ -x /usr/bin/twm ] ; then # exec /usr/bin/twm # fi This used to work fine until today I tested it on another computer. Firefox reports that there's another running instance of firefox which stops responding. Thus, firefox could not autostart as I expected. I connected the computer with SSH and I found there are 2 firefox processes: [root@my113 xinit]# ps -ef | grep firefox root 4479 4371 0 17:34 ? 00:00:00 /bin/sh /usr/lib/firefox-3.0b5/run-mozilla.sh /usr/lib/firefox-3.0b5/firefox -chrome http://127.0.0.1/ -width 1280 -height 768 root 4600 4479 0 17:34 ? 00:00:01 /usr/lib/firefox-3.0b5/firefox -chrome http://127.0.0.1/ -width 1280 -height 768 root 4940 4906 0 17:35 ? 00:00:00 /bin/sh /usr/lib/firefox-3.0b5/run-mozilla.sh /usr/lib/firefox-3.0b5/firefox -chrome http://127.0.0.1/ -width 1280 -height 768 root 4963 4940 0 17:35 ? 00:00:00 /usr/lib/firefox-3.0b5/firefox -chrome http://127.0.0.1/ -width 1280 -height 768 root 5717 5345 0 17:51 pts/2 00:00:00 grep firefox I guess, for some reason, "Xclients" is executed twice. But I really knows very little about XWindows, so if anyone here could give me some clues, I will appreciate!

  • Problem in vertical navigation menu using css sprites

    - by ShiVik
    Hello all I am trying to create to a vertical navigation menu using CSS sprites. I want to put in it a hover effect where the menu option slides out a bit. a:link { background: url(images/nav.png); background-position: -100px 0px; width: 150px; } a:hover { background: url(images/nav.png); background-position: -100px 0px; width: 160px; } So I am using the same image, I am just increasing its size to create a pop out effect. But my problem is that right now the image's size is increasing to the right. I want to keep the image's base aligned and its head should pop out. Here's my complete css code: #navmenu { left: 100px; margin: 0; padding: 0; position: absolute; top: 150px; width: 150px; z-index: 99; } #navmenu ul { list-style-type: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; } #navmenu ul li { line-height: 1.5em; padding: 0px; } #navimenu ul li a { color: black; display: block; font-weight: bold; height: 26px; padding: 0px 15px 0px 0px; text-align: right; width: 150px; } #navmenu a:link, #navmenu a:visited { background: url(images/nav.png) no-repeat; background-position: -150px 0px; width: 150px; } #navmenu a:hover { background: url(images/nav.png) no-repeat; background-position: -150px 0px; width: 160px; } Don't know how much if I've put the problem correctly but can somebody help me out here? Thanks

  • Flex: Double click event propagation on datagrid dependent on component order?

    - by MyMacAndMe
    I'd like to have a double click event on a datagrid in Flex3. The following example only works if the Accordion (id = "mustBeSecond") container comes after the DataGrid. Why is the order of the components important and what can I do to prevent this behavior? (The example does not work. If you change the order of "mustBeSecond" and "gridReportConversions" the example works fine) <mx:Script>  import mx.controls.Alert; import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; [Bindable] private var dp:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection([ {qty:1,referer:'http://google.com'}, {qty:25,referer:'http://cnn.com'}, {qty:4,referer:'http:stackoverflow.com'}]); private function refererRowDoubleClicked(e:Event):void { Alert.show("double click"); }  </mx:Script> <mx:HBox width="100%" height="100%"> <mx:Accordion width="200" height="200" id="mustBeSecond"> <mx:Canvas label="Navigation Box" width="100%" height="100%"> <mx:VBox> <mx:LinkButton label="First Link" /> <mx:LinkButton label="Second Link" /> </mx:VBox> </mx:Canvas> </mx:Accordion> <mx:DataGrid id="gridReportConversions" height="100%" width="100%" dataProvider="{this.dp}" mouseEnabled="true" doubleClickEnabled="true" itemDoubleClick="refererRowDoubleClicked(event)"> <mx:columns> <mx:DataGridColumn width="75" dataField="qty" headerText="Qty" /> <mx:DataGridColumn dataField="referer" headerText="URL" /> </mx:columns> </mx:DataGrid> </mx:HBox>

  • Positioning SVG Elements

    - by Rob Wilkerson
    In the course of toying with SVG for the first time (using the Raphael library), I've run into a problem positioning dynamic elements on the canvas in such a way that they're completely contained within the canvas. What I'm trying to do is randomly position n words/short phrases. Since the text is variable, its position needs to be variable as well so what I'm doing is: Initially creating the text at point 0,0 with no opacity. Checking the width of the drawn text element using text.getBBox().width. Setting a new x coordinate as Math.random() * (canvas_width - ( text_width/2 ) - pad). Altering the x coordinate of the text to the newly set value (text.attr( 'x', x ) ). Setting the opacity attribute of the text to 1. I'll be the first to admit that my math acumen is limited, but this seems pretty straightforward. Somehow, I still end up with text running off beyond the right edge of my canvas. For simplicity above, I removed the bit that also sets a minimum x value by adding it to the Math.random() result. It is there, though, and I see the same problem on the leading edge of the canvas. My understanding (such as it is), is that the Math.random() bits would generate a number between 0 and 1 which could then be multiplied by some number (in my case, the canvas width - half of the text width - some arbitrary padding) to get the outer bound. I'm dividing the width of the text in half because its position on the grid is set at its center. I hope I've just been staring at this for too long, but is my math that rusty or am I misunderstanding something about the behavior of Math.random(), SVG, text or anything else that's under the hood of this solution?

  • Problem with Freetype and OpenGL

    - by Morgan
    Hey, i'm having a weird issue with drawing text in openGL loaded with the Freetype 2 library. Here is a screenshot of what I'm seeing. http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/3316/freetypeweird.png Here are my code bits for loading and rendering my text. class Font { Font(const String& filename) { if (FT_New_Face(Font::ftLibrary, "arial.ttf", 0, &mFace)) { cout << "UH OH!" << endl; } FT_Set_Char_Size(mFace, 16 * 64, 16 * 64, 72, 72); } Glyph* GetGlyph(const unsigned char ch) { if(FT_Load_Char(mFace, ch, FT_LOAD_RENDER)) cout << "OUCH" << endl; FT_Glyph glyph; if(FT_Get_Glyph( mFace->glyph, &glyph )) cout << "OUCH" << endl; FT_BitmapGlyph bitmap_glyph = (FT_BitmapGlyph)glyph; Glyph* thisGlyph = new Glyph; thisGlyph->buffer = bitmap_glyph->bitmap.buffer; thisGlyph->width = bitmap_glyph->bitmap.width; thisGlyph->height = bitmap_glyph->bitmap.rows; return thisGlyph; } }; The relevant glyph information (width, height, buffer) is stored in the following struct struct Glyph { GLubyte* buffer; Uint width; Uint height; }; And finally, to render it, I have this class called RenderFont. class RenderFont { RenderFont(Font* font) { mTextureIds = new GLuint[128]; mFirstDisplayListId=glGenLists(128); glGenTextures( 128, mTextureIds ); for(unsigned char i=0;i<128;i++) { MakeDisplayList(font, i); } } void MakeDisplayList(Font* font, unsigned char ch) { Glyph* glyph = font->GetGlyph(ch); glBindTexture( GL_TEXTURE_2D, mTextureIds[ch]); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D,GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER,GL_LINEAR); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D,GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER,GL_LINEAR); glTexImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, GL_RGBA, glyph->width, glyph->height, 0, GL_ALPHA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, glyph->buffer); glNewList(mFirstDisplayListId+ch,GL_COMPILE); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, mTextureIds[ch]); glBegin(GL_QUADS); glTexCoord2d(0,1); glVertex2f(0,glyph->height); glTexCoord2d(0,0); glVertex2f(0,0); glTexCoord2d(1,0); glVertex2f(glyph->width,0); glTexCoord2d(1,1); glVertex2f(glyph->width,glyph->height); glEnd(); glTranslatef(16, 0, 0); glEndList(); } void Draw(const String& text, Uint size, const TransformComponent* transform, const Color32* color) { glEnable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); glEnable(GL_BLEND); glBlendFunc(GL_SRC_ALPHA, GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA); glTranslatef(100, 250, 0.0f); glListBase(mFirstDisplayListId); glCallLists(text.length(), GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, text.c_str()); glDisable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); glDisable(GL_BLEND); glLoadIdentity(); } private: GLuint mFirstDisplayListId; GLuint* mTextureIds; }; Can anybody see anything weird going on here that would cause the garbled text? It's strange because if I change the font size, or the DPI, then some of the letters that display correctly become garbled, and other letters that were garbled before then display correctly.

  • Javascript incapable of getting element's max-height via element.style.maxHeight

    - by Zane
    I am making a simple accordion menu in javascript. I'd like to be able to set the compact and expanded heights for the elements via the css max-height and min-height values. For some reason, when I try to retrieve the min-height and max-height of the elements in javascript for animation purposes, I get an empty string rather than, for instance, "500px" like it should. The max-height value is set in css, e.g. #id { min-height: 40px; max-height: 500px; } is all set up, but when I put a debugging mechanism in my javascript such as alert( item.style.minHeight ); it pops up an empty alert box. This happens in Firefox 3.6.2 and IE 8. Does anybody know why javascript refuses to be able to get an element's minHeight and maxHeight?

  • Python: combining making two scripts into one

  • Access to multiple ItemRenderers within an AdvancedDataGrid

This custom component allow for simple changes in the background color based on user clicking on a cell. Here is the snippet of the AdvancedDataGrid (nothing too advanced): <mx:AdvancedDataGrid id="fsfw" dataProvider="{fsfWordList}" sortableColumns="false" > <mx:groupedColumns> <mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn width="35" dataField="wordcount" headerText=" "/> <mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn id="myWord" width="150" headerText="TEST ITEMS"> <mx:itemRenderer> <mx:Component> <components:SoundBox width="100%" letterSound="{data.word}" /> </mx:Component> </mx:itemRenderer> </mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn> <mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn width="200" headerText="Correct / 2 points" dataField="sound1"> <mx:itemRenderer> <mx:Component> <components:SoundBox width="100%" letterSound="{data.sound1}" pointColumn="2"/> </mx:Component> </mx:itemRenderer> </mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn> </mx:groupedColumns> </AdvancedDataGrid> What I'm trying to do is change the background color of (let's just say I have one row of data) row1, cell1 to green when the user clicks on cell3 of row1. I'm unsure as to how I get access to those items (ItemRenderer/SoundBox) within the Grid. Any Ideas? THX!

  • How to get the coordinate of Gridlayout

    - by Jessy
    Hi, I set my JPanel to GridLayout (6,6), with dimension (600,600) Each cell of the grid will display one pictures with different widths and heights. The picture first add to a JLabel, and the JLabel then added to the cells. How can retrieved the coordinate of the pictures in the cells and not the coordinate of cells? So far the out give these coordinate which equal height and width even on screen the pictures showed in different sizes. e.g. java.awt.Rectangle[x=100,y=100,width=100,height=100] java.awt.Rectangle[x=200,y=100,width=100,height=100] java.awt.Rectangle[x=300,y=100,width=100,height=100] The reason why I used GridLayout instead of gridBagLayout is that, I want each pictures to have boundary. If I use GridBagLayout, the grid will expand according to the picture size. I want grid size to be in fix size. JPanel pDraw = new JPanel(new GridLayout(6,6)); pDraw.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(600,600)); for (int i =0; i<(6*6); i++) { //get random number for height and width of the image int x = rand.nextInt(40)+(50); int y = rand.nextInt(40)+(50); ImageIcon icon = createImageIcon("bird.jpg"); //rescale the image according to the size selected Image img = icon.getImage().getScaledInstance(x,y,img.SCALE_SMOOTH); icon.setImage(img ); JLabel label = new JLabel(icon); pDraw.add(label); } for(Component component:components) { //retrieve the coordinate System.out.println(component.getBounds()); }

  • Wrap text around an image in rails and prawn

    - by stevenheidel
    I have a document with dynamic image and dynamic text and would like the text around the image. The image is right aligned on the landscape page. Here is what I have so far: pdf.bounding_box([0,pdf.bounds.top - 50], :width => pdf.bounds.width, :height => pdf.bounds.height-50) do pdf.text @article.title, :size => 30, :style => :bold pdf.text @article.content, :align => :left # image pdf.bounding_box([pdf.bounds.right - 250, pdf.bounds.top], :width => 250, :height => 250) do pdf.image image_path, :width => 250 end end The text goes right underneath the image. I tried doing this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2085151/ruby-prawn-how-to-wrap-text-around-an-aligned-right-image but it didn't work. Help is appreciated, thanks.

  • ActionScript applying rotation of sprite to startDrag()'s rectangle bounds

    - by TheDarkIn1978
    i've added a square sprite to the stage which, when dragged, is contained within set boundaries. private function swatchBounds():Rectangle { var stageBounds = new Rectangle ( 0 - defaultSwatchRect.x, 0 - defaultSwatchRect.y, stage.stageWidth - defaultSwatchRect.width, stage.stageHeight - defaultSwatchRect.height ); return stageBounds; } if the square sprite is scaled, the following returned rectangle boundary works private function swatchBounds():Rectangle { var stageBounds = new Rectangle ( 0 - defaultSwatchRect.x * swatchObject.scaleX, 0 - defaultSwatchRect.y * swatchObject.scaleY, stage.stageWidth - defaultSwatchRect.width * swatchObject.scaleX, stage.stageHeight - defaultSwatchRect.height * swatchObject.scaleY ); return stageBounds; } now i'm trying to include the square sprites rotation into the mix. math certainly isn't my forté, but i feel i'm on the write track. however, i just can't seem to wrap my head around it to get it right private function swatchBounds():Rectangle { var stageBounds = new Rectangle ( 0 - defaultSwatchRect.x * swatchObject.scaleX * Math.cos(defaultSwatchRect.x * swatchObject.rotation), 0 - defaultSwatchRect.y * swatchObject.scaleY * Math.sin(defaultSwatchRect.y * swatchObject.rotation), stage.stageWidth - defaultSwatchRect.width * swatchObject.scaleX * Math.cos(defaultSwatchRect.width * swatchObject.rotation), stage.stageHeight - defaultSwatchRect.height * swatchObject.scaleY * Math.sin(defaultSwatchRect.height * swatchObject.rotation) ); return stageBounds; }
