• Changing Jquery Calendar size using google hosted theme

  I am trying to implement the Jquery datepicker using a google hosted theme. But the Calendar is too big. • Can't remove Default.png?

  Weird one... I had been fooling around with an initial splash screen but decided not to use it. But now, although I deleted Default.png from Resources, the splash screen still appears in the Simulator when I start the app. Default.png isn't in the project folder, I close and reopen Xcode, splash screen still there. Close ands reopen Simulator, splash screen still there. I remove the app from the Simulator, build, and the splash screen is still there Default.png. Any ideas?

  The Question actually says it all. The reason behind this question is I am about to start a small side project and want to do it in Scala. I am learning scala for the past one month and now I am comfortable working with it. The scala compiler itself is pretty slow (unless you use fsc). So how well does it perform on JVM? I previously worked on groovy and I had seen sometimes over performed than java. My Question is how well scala perform on JVM compared to Java. I know scala has some very good features(FP, dynamic lang, statically typed...) but end of the day we need the performance...

• JPA DAO integration test not throwing exception when duplicate object saved?

  I am in the process of unit testing a DAO built with Spring/JPA and Hibernate as the provider. Prior to running the test, DBUnit inserted a User record with username "poweruser" -- username is the primary key in the users table. • MVC4 link automatically redirected to default INDEX page/action even if defined action name with controller

  i am creating web mobile application in mvc4. • Element point map for html5 canvas element, need algorithm

  I'm currently working on a pure html 5 canvas implementation of the "flying tag cloud sphere", which many of you have undoubtedly seen as a flash object in some pages. The tags are drawn fine, and the performance is satisfactory, but there's one thing in the canvas element that's kind of breaking this idea: you can't identify the objects that you've drawn on a canvas, as it's just a simple flat "image".. What I have to do in this case is catch the click event, and try to "guess" which element was clicked. So I have to have some kind of matrix, which stores a link to a tag object for each pixel on the canvas, AND I have to update this matrix on every redraw. Now this sounds incredibly inefficient, and before I even start trying to implement this, I want to ask the community - is there some "well known" algorithm that would help me in this case? Or maybe I'm just missing something, and the answer is right behind the corner? :)

• I would like to useJava 7's FileVisitor to walk up a tree

  I have looked and searched for some guidance on how to start at a low point in a path and walk up (or 'back'), until I find a folder with the name I am searching for. The FileVisitor class looks like it ought to be able to help me, but it only seems to work from head to toe. Is there something that someone could point me to? • Comment out a python code block

  Is there any mechanism to comment out large blocks of Python code? Right now the only ways I can see of commenting out code are to either start every line with a #, or to enclose the code in """ (triple quotes), except that actually makes it show up in various doc tools. Edit--After reading the answers (and referring to the "duplicate"), I have concluded the correct answer is "No". One person said so, and the rest lectured us about editors. Not a bad thing, but I feel it's important to put the answer at the top.

• Why does my program occasionally segfault when out of memory rather than throwing std::bad_alloc?

  I have a program that implements several heuristic search algorithms and several domains, designed to experimentally evaluate the various algorithms. The program is written in C++, built using the GNU toolchain, and run on a 64-bit Ubuntu system. When I run my experiments, I use bash's ulimit command to limit the amount of virtual memory the process can use, so that my test system does not start swapping. Certain algorithm/test instance combinations hit the memory limit I have defined. Most of the time, the program throws an std::bad_alloc exception, which is printed by the default handler, at which point the program terminates. Occasionally, rather than this happening, the program simply segfaults. Why does my program occasionally segfault when out of memory, rather than reporting an unhandled std::bad_alloc and terminating?

  I have a webcam that I want to do some image processing on using Python. It's coming through as a Motion-JPEG. I want to try to process the stuff "live," but really what I want to do is this: Open the URL, start data streaming to some buffer... Read x bytes (where x is image size) to an image Process that image Display in result panel Return to number 2 The problem is that, while I do have the resolution, I have no idea how many bytes to read. I've tried googling the M-JPEG specification but can't find anything on if the images are separated by some header or what. Anybody have any ideas?

  I have several custom controls (some kind of frames for content and layout management, like wrap panel), and would like to write unit tests for them. It's hard to find any good examples except Silverlight control toolkit, which has some helper classes to do unit tests and it's quite complicated. For MVVM classes it's easy to write tests because they don't use SL dependency system and infrastructure. Questions: how to unit test DepedenyProperty, what do I need to test how to test attached property do I test bindings with theme or UserControl, like simple textblock content binding, or command/event binding in MVVM with UserControl what else do I test in my custom controls, beside my business logic any good tutorial to achieve tests like those in control toolkit How do I start? Is SL controls toolkit only option for learning? For testing framework i'm using one from control toolkit, and for continuus integration on TFS build server I planned to use Statlight (from codeplex). Any advice on that?

• What is the Simplest Possible Payment Gateway to Implement? (using Django)

  I'm developing a web application that will require users to either make one time deposits of money into their account, or allow users to sign up for recurring billing each month for a certain amount of money. I've been looking at various payment gateways, but most (if not all) of them seem complex and difficult to get working. I also see no real active Django projects which offer simple views for making payments. Ideally, I'd like to use something like Amazon FPS, so that I can see online transaction logs, refund money, etc., but I'm open to other things. I just want the EASIEST possible payment gateway to integrate with my site. I'm not looking for anything fancy, whatever does the job, and requires < 10 hours to get working from start to finish would be perfect. I'll give answer points to whoever can point out a good one.   A co-worker on IntelliJ IDEA (working on another project) showed me the amazing @NotNull annotation. I've read messages here on SO about how starting to add @NotNull everywhere saved lots of time and headaches (and IntelliJ 10 can even add automatically @NotNull to old code when it detects that null would break havoc). Since I read my first "Probable @NotNull violation" message (in real-time, in the IDE, even on a partial .java file that doesn't compile yet) my jaw dropped and I got hooked. So I was wondering: is there anything that needs to be known if we want to start using @NotNull in a project where developers are using both Eclipse and IntelliJ? I know IntelliJ ships with the annotations.jar. Is this compatible with Eclipse?

• fubar'd a ruby installation on ubuntu, need helping purging it for reinstall

  i originally followed these steps to get a RoR environmentgoing: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RubyOnRails that worked. then i put 1.9.2 on here. then i decided i want the original setup, did a "whereis ruby" and deleted those directories manually. that fubar'd my ruby installation. i can't use the repository to what i originally had. how can i purge ruby from completely and start fresh? right now the specific error is this: /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:11:in `require': no such file to load -- thread (LoadError) from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:11 from /usr/bin/gem1.8:8:in `require' from /usr/bin/gem1.8:8 tipu@tipu_ubuntu:~$

• How to determine if birthday or anniversary occured during date range

  Given I have a birthday/anniversary DateTime, how can I determine if that date occurred during a specific date range? For example, Birthday = 1/2/2000 Date Range = 12/25/2008 - 1/3/2009 I need a method to determine whether or not this person's birthday happened during that date range - preferably in C#. I first went about changing the year of the birthday DateTime to match the date range, then just check if the "new" birthday DateTime is between the start and end date of the date range... but when the date range spans different years, like in my example above - I had to add a nasty if statement. Is there no better way?

  Hi, I'm new to android but I've been working my way through the tutoials. Still trying to get my head round layouts in a non-html world and was wondering how to achieve the following.... 1) I'd like to set a tiled background to fill the screen behind the whole activity 2) I'd like to place a graphic and a button underneath it centred in the middle of the screen. 3) When the user clicks the button I'd like to start a new activity and presumably I have to do something to the current activity so the user can use the back button to get back to it. Before you all respond "a slash followed by an asterisk", I mean what's the correct way to write them on paper. (IE, How many points should the asterisk have? • How to convert a MSSQL database (including procedures, functions and triggers) to a firebird databas

  I am considering migrating to Firebird. To have a "quick start" approach I downloaded the trial of a conversion tool (DBConvert) and tried it. I just picked up a random tool, this tool doesn't convert procedures, functions and triggers (I don't think it is a limit of the trial since there is not an explicit reference to sp, sf and triggers in the link above). Anyway by trying that tool I had the message: "The DB cannot be converted succesfully because some FK names are too long." This is because in some tables I have FK whose description is 32 chars. Is this a real firebird limit or it is possible to overcome it somehow (of course renaming the FK is an extreme option because it is extra work)? Anyway how to convert a MS SQL DB fully to FIREBIRD? Is there a valid tool? Did someone succed in a conversion of non trivial databases?

• How do I get bison/flex to restart scanning after something like token substitution?

  Is there a way to force bison and/or flex to restart scanning after I replace some token with something else? My particular example would be with replacement for a specific word/string. If I want a word of hello to be replaced by echo hello, how can I get flex or bison to replace hello and then start parsing again (to pick up 2 words instead of just one). So it would be like: Get token WORD (which is a string type) If hello, replace token value with echo hello Restart parsing entire input (which is now echo hello) Get token WORD (echo) Get token WORD (hello) I've seen very tempting functions like yyrestart(), but I don't really understand what that function in particular really accomplishes. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

  I am in a position where I could become a team leader of a team distributed over two countries. This team would be the tech. team for a start up company that we plan to bootstrap on limited funds. So I am trying to find out ways to minimize upfront expenses. Right now we are planning to use Java and will have a lot of junit tests. I am planing on using github for VCS and lighthouse for a bug tracker. In addition I want to add a continuous integration server but I do not know of any continuous integration servers that are offered as a web service. Does anybody know if there are continuous integration servers available in a software as a service model? P.S. if anybody knows were I can get these three services at one location that would be great to know to.

• Running matlab in the background

  Hi, I am running matlab on 48 virtual machines and would like to automate it. I ssh into the machines then use matlab -r matlab_command > outfile.txt & to get the process to run in the background and run fine when I logout. The only problem is that when i jobs my process is stopped and won't start until I fg ^z bg. Is there a matlab flag so that I can run it in the background without having it stop? Thanks, Mike

• Two CVS projects into one SVN project

  I have two CVS projects, which I maintain in Eclipse. I check out first project, and for second project I use "checkout in existing project" option, so I'm able to maintain two CVS projects into one Eclipse project. Doing this I'm able to Tag both projects with the same tag,etc. And know, time has come to start using SVN. I was able to create two separate CVS dump files, and when I used svnadmin to load then into SVN repository, I wasn't able to keep the structure I had in CVS! So, when i import both dump seperatly into SVN I get the following structure: ProjA - brancher tags trunk ProjB bracnches tags trunk In CVS I was able to have ProjB as a child folder of the ProjA trunk! Is there any way to implement this using SVN?
