  • aspx listbox control

    - by lissa
    i tried to extend the listbox control and override its RenderEndTag method. everything works well if i used the control directly in a webapage. ie, the RenderEndTag is called. but when i try to put the control in a WebUserControl and use the webusercontorl in a webpage, the RenderEndTag of the extended control is not called. this is strange because the constructor is being called but the RenderEndTag method is not! any ideas about fixing the issue?

  • How to work with file and streams in php,case: if we open file in Class A and pass open stream to Cl

    - by Rachel
    I have two class, one is Business Logic Class{BLO} and the other one is Data Access Class{DAO} and I have dependency in my BLO class to my Dao class. Basically am opening a csv file to write into it in my BLO class using inside its constructor as I am creating an object of BLO and passing in file from command prompt: Code: $this->fin = fopen($file,'w+') or die('Cannot open file'); Now inside BLO I have one function notifiy, which call has dependency to DAO class and call getCurrentDBSnapshot function from the Dao and passes the open stream so that data gets populated into the stream. Code: Blo Class Constructor: public function __construct($file) { //Open Unica File for parsing. $this->fin = fopen($file,'w+') or die('Cannot open file'); // Initialize the Repository DAO. $this->dao = new Dao('REPO'); } Blo Class method that interacts with Dao Method and call getCurrentDBSnapshot. public function notifiy() { $data = $this->fin; var_dump($data); //resource(9) of type (stream) $outputFile=$this->dao->getCurrentDBSnapshot($data); // So basically am passing in $data which is resource((9) of type (stream) } Dao function: getCurrentDBSnapshot which get current state of Database table. public function getCurrentDBSnapshot($data) { $query = "SELECT * FROM myTable"; //Basically just preparing the query. $stmt = $this->connection->prepare($query); // Execute the statement $stmt->execute(); $header = array(); while ($row=$stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { if(empty($header)) { // Get the header values from table(columnnames) $header = array_keys($row); // Populate csv file with header information from the mytable fputcsv($data, $header); } // Export every row to a file fputcsv($data, $row); } var_dump($data);//resource(9) of type (stream) return $data; } So basically in am getting back resource(9) of type (stream) from getCurrentDBSnapshot and am storing that stream into $outputFile in Blo class method notify. Now I want to close the file which I opened for writing and so it should be fclose of $outputFile or $data, because in both the cases it gives me: var_dump(fclose($outputFile)) as bool(false) var_dump(fclose($data)) as bool(false) and var_dump($outputFile) as resource(9) of type (Unknown) var_dump($data) as resource(9) of type (Unknown) My question is that if I open file using fopen in class A and if I call class B method from Class A method and pass an open stream, in our case $data, than Class B would perform some work and return back and open stream and so How can I close that open stream in Class A's method or it is ok to keep that stream open and not use fclose ? Would appreciate inputs as am not very sure as how this can be implemented.

  • Create an Xml file from an object (c#)

    - by remi bourgarel
    Hi All, I work as a web developer with a web designer and we usually do like this : - I create the system , I generate some Xml files - the designer display the xml files with xslt Nothing new. My problem is that I use Xml Serialization to create my xml files, but I never use Deserialization. So I'd like to know if there is a way to avoid fix like these : empty setter for my property empty parameter-less constructor implement IXmlSerializable and throw "notimplementedexception" on deserialization do a copy of the class with public fields thanks.

  • Explain this AS2 code?

    - by incrediman
    Why does this code trace 'undefined'? this.createEmptyMovieClip("myLoader",1); trace(this.myLoader); this too? this.createEmptyMovieClip("myLoader",1); trace(this["myLoader"]); (when the code is in the constructor of a class which extends MovieClip) But this code traces _level0.myLoader (code placed on main timeline) this.createEmptyMovieClip("myLoader",1); trace(this.myLoader);

  • Silverlight (RIA Services) spontaneous culture changing

    - by Marc Wittke
    My RIA enabled Silverlight Application is setting the thread culture in the App constructor (this is absolutley okay since it is an intranet application and will never ever be used by someone who is not german): public App() { InitializeComponent(); Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = new CultureInfo("de-DE"); } It does what it should, the DataForms are displaying datetime values in german notation. BUT: it is spontaneously changing to en-US notation when navigating between items in the data source that is bound to the DataForm. Why?

  • Creating a list in Python- something sneaky going on?

    - by GlenCrawford
    Apologies if this doesn't make any sense, I'm very new to Python! From testing in an interpreter, I can see that list() and [] both produce an empty list: >>> list() [] >>> [] [] From what I've learned so far, the only way to create an object is to call its constructor (__init__), but I don't see this happening when I just type []. So by executing [], is Python then mapping that to a call to list()?

    Hi, I currently able to create a Medium size TextAppearanceSpan, But how can I set the text color to a specified RBG color (say #c71585)? new TextAppearanceSpan(context, android.R.style.TextAppearance_Medium); I see there is a constructor for public TextAppearanceSpan(Context context, int appearance, int colorList) { But what is the int for colorList? Is there any example for this? Thank you.

  • What JavaScript object copy function works with greasemonkey?

    - by Geo
    I know there is another question related to copying objects in JavaScript here, but the code they provide does not work with greasemonkey. From what I was able to trace, the code for the accepted answer dies/ stops at the line : var temp = new obj.constructor(); Is there any way to see what went wrong ? It's not really necessary I use the same function for the object copying, but I would like something that works. Do you know some function?

  • segfault on vector<struct>

    - by Andre
    Hello, I created a struct to hold some data and then declared a vector to hold that struct. But when I do a push_back I get damn segfault and I have no idea why! My struct is defines as: typedef struct Group { int codigo; string name; int deleted; int printers; int subpage; /*included this when it started segfaulting*/ Group(){ name.reserve(MAX_PRODUCT_LONG_NAME); } ~Group(){ name.clear(); } Group(const Group &b) { codigo = b.codigo; name = b.name; deleted = b.deleted; printers = b.printers; subpage = b.subpage; } /*end of new stuff*/ }; Originally, the struct didn't have the copy, constructor or destructor. I added them latter when I read this post below. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/676575/seg-fault-after-is-item-pushed-onto-stl-container but the end result is the same. There is one this that is bothering me as hell! When I first push some data into the vector, everything goes fine. Later on in the code when I try to push some more data into the vector, my app just segfaults! The vector is declared vector<Group> Groups and is a global variable to the file where I am using it. No externs anywhere else, etc... I can trace the error to: _M_deallocate(this->_M_impl._M_start, this->_M_impl._M_end_of_storage- this->_M_impl._M_start); in vector.tcc when I finish adding/copying the last element to the vector.... As far as I can tell. I shouldn't be needing anything to do with a copy constructor as a shallow copy should be enough for this. I'm not even allocating any space (but I did a reserve for the string to try out). I have no idea what the problem is! I'm running this code on OpenSuse 10.2 with gcc 4.1.2 I'm not really to eager to upgrade gcc because of backward compatibility issues... This code worked "perfectly" on my windows machine. I compiled it with gcc 3.4.5 mingw without any problems... help! --- ... --- :::EDIT::: I push data Group tmp_grp; (...) tmp_grp.name = "Nova "; tmp_grp.codigo=GetGroupnextcode(); tmp_grp.deleted=0; tmp_grp.printers=0; tmp_grp.subpage=0; Groups.push_back(tmp_grp);

  • instantiate spring bean via factory method

    - by Don
    Hi, I need to instantiate a Spring bean in the same manner as this Java code: MyClass foo = Mockito.mock(MyClass.class); The XML I need will look something like: <bean id="foo" class="Mockito" factory-method="mock"> <constructor-arg value="MyClass"/> </bean> I can't seem to find the correct syntax for passing a Class object as a parameter to the factory method. Thanks, Don

    I am giving a link to user to activate his account. Link is http://xyz.in/JSF_WEB_WFE/faces/index.jsp?confirmuser=jona&emailid=valid. I read the parameters in a Beans constructor and then making some decision like, activated / already activated. It works fine in local but while we deploy in web some times it works fine and some time not. what may be the problem. What can we do for better solution?

  • Help understanding Cairngorm Event in Flex

    - by tusay
    Hi, I was going through this article by David Tucker (http://www.davidtucker.net/2007/10/29/cairngorm-part-3/) in which he talks about Cairngorm Events. There are two things that I want to ask in this- What is the significance of calling the constructor of the parent class with the event arg? super(LOGIN) in the example Why do you need to overrride the clone method? Understanding these things will give me a better insight into the way things are done with Cairngorm. Thanks

  • How to convert a string into a Point in C#

    - by NateD
    I have a list of strings of the format "x,y". I would like to make them all into Points. The best Point constructor I can find takes two ints. What is the best way in C# to turn "14,42" into new Point(14,42);? I know the Regex for doing that is /(\d+),(\d+)/, but I'm having a hard time turning those two match groups into ints in C#. any help you could offer would be appreciated.

  • Android - OPENGL cube is NOT in the display

    - by Marc Ortiz
    I'm trying to display a square on my display and i can't. Whats my problem? How can I display it on the screen (center of the screen)? I let my code below! Here's my render class: public class GLRenderEx implements Renderer { private GLCube cube; Context c; GLCube quad; // ( NEW ) // Constructor public GLRenderEx(Context context) { // Set up the data-array buffers for these shapes ( NEW ) quad = new GLCube(); // ( NEW ) } // Call back when the surface is first created or re-created. @Override public void onSurfaceCreated(GL10 gl, EGLConfig config) { // NO CHANGE - SKIP } // Call back after onSurfaceCreated() or whenever the window's size changes. @Override public void onSurfaceChanged(GL10 gl, int width, int height) { // NO CHANGE - SKIP } // Call back to draw the current frame. @Override public void onDrawFrame(GL10 gl) { // Clear color and depth buffers using clear-values set earlier gl.glClear(GL10.GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT | GL10.GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT); gl.glLoadIdentity(); // Reset model-view matrix ( NEW ) gl.glTranslatef(-1.5f, 0.0f, -6.0f); // Translate left and into the // screen ( NEW ) // Translate right, relative to the previous translation ( NEW ) gl.glTranslatef(3.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); quad.draw(gl); // Draw quad ( NEW ) } } And here is my square class: public class GLCube { private FloatBuffer vertexBuffer; // Buffer for vertex-array private float[] vertices = { // Vertices for the square -1.0f, -1.0f, 0.0f, // 0. left-bottom 1.0f, -1.0f, 0.0f, // 1. right-bottom -1.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f, // 2. left-top 1.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f // 3. right-top }; // Constructor - Setup the vertex buffer public GLCube() { // Setup vertex array buffer. Vertices in float. A float has 4 bytes ByteBuffer vbb = ByteBuffer.allocateDirect(vertices.length * 4); vbb.order(ByteOrder.nativeOrder()); // Use native byte order vertexBuffer = vbb.asFloatBuffer(); // Convert from byte to float vertexBuffer.put(vertices); // Copy data into buffer vertexBuffer.position(0); // Rewind } // Render the shape public void draw(GL10 gl) { // Enable vertex-array and define its buffer gl.glEnableClientState(GL10.GL_VERTEX_ARRAY); gl.glVertexPointer(3, GL10.GL_FLOAT, 0, vertexBuffer); // Draw the primitives from the vertex-array directly gl.glDrawArrays(GL10.GL_TRIANGLE_STRIP, 0, vertices.length / 3); gl.glDisableClientState(GL10.GL_VERTEX_ARRAY); } } Thanks!!

  • Codeigniter how to access class variables

    - by Obay
    I thought this was going to be a no-brainer but I can't seem to access member variables: class MyObject extends Controller { private $START_OF_WEEK = 1; /* constructor here */ function index() { echo $this->$START_OF_WEEK; } } echo $this->$START_OF_WEEK; says Cannot access empty property How do I access member variables? Or... how do I declare them correctly?

  • Why does std queue not define a swap method specialisation

    - by Jamie Cook
    I've read that all stl containers provide a specialisation of the swap algorithm so as to avoid calling the copy constructor and two assignment operations that the default method uses. However, when I thought it would be nice to use a queue in some code I was working on I noticed that (unlike vector and deque) queue doesn't provide this method? I just decided to use a deque instead of a queue, but still I'm interested to know why this is?

  • Is do-notation specific to "base:GHC.Base.Monad"?

    - by yairchu
    The idea that the standard Monad class is flawed and that it should actually extend Functor or Pointed is floating around. I'm not necessarily claiming that it is the right thing to do, but suppose that one was trying to do it: import Prelude hiding (Monad(..)) class Functor m => Monad m where return :: a -> m a join :: m (m a) -> m a join = (>>= id) (>>=) :: m a -> (a -> m b) -> m b a >>= t = join (fmap t a) (>>) :: m a -> m b -> m b a >> b = a >>= const b So far so good, but then when trying to use do-notation: whileM :: Monad m => m Bool -> m () whileM iteration = do done <- iteration if done then return () else whileM iteration The compiler complains: Could not deduce (base:GHC.Base.Monad m) from the context (Monad m) Question: Does do-notation work only for base:GHC.Base.Monad? Is there a way to make it work with an alternative Monad class? Extra context: What I really want to do is replace base:Control.Arrow.Arrow with a "generalized" Arrow class: {-# LANGUAGE TypeFamilies #-} class Category a => Arrow a where type Pair a :: * -> * -> * arr :: (b -> c) -> a b c first :: a b c -> a (Pair a b d) (Pair a c d) second :: a b c -> a (Pair a d b) (Pair a d c) (***) :: a b c -> a b' c' -> a (Pair a b b') (Pair a c c') (&&&) :: a b c -> a b c' -> a b (Pair a c c') And then use the Arrow's proc-notation with my Arrow class, but that fails like in the example above of do-notation and Monad. I'll use mostly Either as my pair type constructor and not the (,) type constructor as with the current Arrow class. This might allow to make the code of my toy RTS game (cabal install DefendTheKind) much prettier.

  • PHP Classes Extend

    - by John
    I have two classes that work seperate from another, but they extend the same class. Is it possible to have them work the same instance of the extended class. I'm wanting the constructor of the extended class to run only once. I know this isn't right but something like this: <?php $oApp = new app; class a extends $oApp {} class b extends $oApp {}

  • Is it good practice to generally make heavyweight classes non-copyable?

    - by Emile Cormier
    I have a Shape class containing potentially many vertices, and I was contemplating making copy-constructor/copy-assignment private to prevent accidental needless copying of my heavyweight class (for example, passing by value instead of by reference). To make a copy of Shape, one would have to deliberately call a "clone" or "duplicate" method. Is this good practice? I wonder why STL containers don't use this approach, as I rarely want to pass them by value.
