  • Webwork actions, the lifecycle of variables declared in the action class.

    - by Sam
Hi all, I'm using the webwork framework (JIRA plugin development) and was wondering about the lifecycle of the variables in the action class. I have a few private variables in the action class that are set when during the doDefault() method. These are used in the input view to set up jqGrid columns and then when the user has entered some data they click submit which puts the grid data into a hidden input. The next thing that happens is the doValidation() method is called before the doExecute(), which displays the input view if there are any errors. The problem is that the variables set up in the doDefault() method are now null. Can anyone explain to me how the lifecycle of variables works in the webwork actions? Cheers

  • Swing verify code on event dispatch thread at runtime

    - by Jeff Storey
Are there any libraries that instrument code to verify that methods called on swing components are called on the event dispatch thread? It probably wouldn't be too difficult to write some basic code for doing this, but I'm sure there are edge cases and whatnot that other people have handled. I'm looking for this at runtime though, not for unit tests. thanks, Jeff

  • how to register a selectionProvider for the Viewer from a superclass

    - by Tom
I have a View which extends a View provided by another plugin like this; public class View2 extends some.other.package.View1 { public void createPartControl(Composite parent) { super.createPartControl(parent); //I want to do this, but I can't because its private //getSite().setSelectionProvider(treeViewer); } } But I can't edit the super class, so I need to access the viewer from the Control. public class some.other.package.View1 extends ViewPart { private TreeViewer treeViewer; public void createPartControl(Composite parent) { treeViewer = new TreeViewer(parent, SWT.V_SCROLL); } } I tried using parent.getChildren(); to get a Tree object, but I can't see that it can be cooerced into an ISElectionProvider as required

  • Is there a simpler way to convert a byte array to a 2-byte-size hexadecimal string?

    - by Tom Brito
    Is there a simpler way of implement this? Or a implemented method in JDK or other lib? /** * Convert a byte array to 2-byte-size hexadecimal String. */ public static String to2DigitsHex(byte[] bytes) { String hexData = ""; for (int i = 0; i < bytes.length; i++) { int intV = bytes[i] & 0xFF; // positive int String hexV = Integer.toHexString(intV); if (hexV.length() < 2) { hexV = "0" + hexV; } hexData += hexV; } return hexData; } public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(to2DigitsHex(new byte[] {8, 10, 12})); } the output is: "08 0A 0C" (without the spaces)

  • Fill a array with List data with one more element

    - by marionmaiden
    Hello, By a question that I made, I figured out that tho copy elements from one list to an array I just need to use the method toArray() for this. But let's suppose I have a List with n objects. I want to copy then into a array sized n+1 and add into the first position another object and in the other n positions the n data of the list. This is the way I'm doing it for now, but I'm just wondering if there is a better way for do that: Object array[] = new Object[list.size() + 1]; Object chk = new Object(); array[0] = chk; for(int i = 1; i < array.length; i++){ array[i] = list.get(i); }

  • Netbeans 7.2 won't open on OS X

    - by Mark van Wyk
I installed Netbeans on OSX Mountain Lion running JDK 7. Everything was working fine. Then my machine for no reason crashed. After this I could no longer open Netbeans anymore. If I try to start Netbeans from the commandline: /Applications/NetBeans/NetBeans 7.2.app/Contents/MacOS/netbeans Then it works fine. From there I can select Netbeans About and confirm that my userdir and cachedir is: User directory: /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/NetBeans/7.2 Cache directory: /Users/<user>/Library/Caches/NetBeans/7.2 So, I deleted these directories and tried again, but alas, I can only start netbeans via the commandline. Ideas appreciated...

  • JSF/Seam - call one component method for many radio groups

    - by purecharger
I've got the following jsf page: <h:form> <ui:repeat value="#{list.categories}" var="cat"> <h:selectOneRadio id="sel1Rad" value="#{list.choose}" layout="pageDirection"> <f:selectItems value="#{list.names}"/> </h:selectOneRadio> </ui:repeat> <h:commandButton id="submit" action="#{list.submit}" value="Submit"/> </h:form> And a component named list. The variable cat is injected to the component, used by the method list.getNames(). What I am trying to have happen is to have list.choose() be called for each radio group. I'm not sure if this is possible with Seam. Going by the booking example distributed with Seam, there is a distinct separate method for each selectOneRadio or selectOneMenu group. Since I have an unknown number of categories, I can't / don't want to define a method for each possible choice. When I submit the form, all my choices are sent in the POST, I just don't know the correct way to tell Seam how to dispatch them to my component. Any help is appreciated!

  • How to specify a parameter as part of every web service call?

    - by LES2
Currently, each web service for our application has a user parameter that is added for every method. For example: @WebService public interface FooWebService { @WebMethod public Foo getFoo(@WebParam(name="alwaysHere",header=true,partName="alwaysHere") String user, @WebParam(name="fooId") Long fooId); @WebMethod public Result deletetFoo(@WebParam(name="alwaysHere",header=true,partName="alwaysHere") String user, @WebParam(name="fooId") Long fooId); // ... } There could be twenty methods in a service, each with the first parameter as user. And there could be twenty web services. We don't actually use the 'user' argument in the implementations - in fact, I don't know why it's there - but I wasn't involved in the design, and the person that put it there had a reason (I hope). Anyway, I'm trying to straighten out this Big Ball of Mud. I have already come a long way by wrapping the web services by a Spring proxy, which allows me to do some before-and-after processing in an interceptor (before there were at least 20 lines of copy-pasted boiler plate per method). I'm wondering if there's some kind of "message header" I can apply to the method or package and that can be accessed by some type of handler or something outside of each web service method. Thanks in advance for the advice, LES

  • Break a while loop without using If or Break

    - by Justin
I need to create a program that uses while to find the volume of a cylinder. I need the while loop to break if the user inputs a negative value for the height. My code looks like this: double sentinel=1, h=1, v=0, r, count=0; // declares all variables needed final double PI=3.14159; boolean NotNegative=true; while(NotNegative){// && count==0){ // while both the height is positive AND the total times run is 0 System.out.print("Enter height (Use negative to exit): "); // has the user input the height h=Double.parseDouble(br.readLine()); sentinel=h; // save sentinel as the inputted height while(sentinel>0){ System.out.print("Enter radius: "); // have the user input the radius r=Double.parseDouble(br.readLine()); v=PI*(r*r)*h; // find the volume System.out.println("The volume is " + v); // print out the volume count++; // increase the count each time this runs NotNegative=true; sentinel=-1; } } Any help?

  • How to create a jEdit "New View" that not synchronize with the old window

    - by user2898598
Hi I just noticed that if you creating a new view on jEdit, when you editing the new one, it affected the text on the original window's text as well, how could I create a New view that allow the user to duplicate data for the current shown view only and not effecting the old ones? I try to find solutions on the source code, then I find seems there are setting that related to this: http://www.jedit.org/users-guide/buffersets.html but I didn't find the selection mentioned on my setting.

  • Hibernate -using Table per subclass - how to link an existing superclass object to a sibclass object

    - by Chandni
Hi, I have a User hibernate class, Clerk class and Consumer class. All these maps to their own tables in database. The User PK also acts as Clerk's and Consumer's PK. So now my problem is that if a user is initially a Clerk, he has a record in Users table and Clerks table. If that user wants to become a consumer, I want to link that User's record to the new Consumer's record. So even if I pass the userId to the consumer's record, it treats it as a new User to be persisted and gives a duplicate_key exception. How do I tell Hiernate to link the same user object with this new Consumer object. Thanks in advance, -Chandni

  • Persistence unit is not persistent

    - by etam
    I need persistence unit that creates embedded database which stays persistent after closing EntityManager. This is my PU: <persistence-unit name="hello-jpa" transaction-type="RESOURCE_LOCAL"> <class>hello.jpa.User</class> <properties> <property name="hibernate.show_sql" value="true"/> <property name="hibernate.format_sql" value="true"/> <property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.HSQLDialect"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.driver_class" value="org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.username" value="sa"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.password" value=""/> <property name="hibernate.connection.url" value="jdbc:hsqldb:target/hsql.db"/> <property name="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto" value="update"/> </properties> </persistence-unit> And it deletes data after closing application.

  • Automatic Hudson CI setup and plugin updates through apt?

    - by aapeli
Hi! We've used Hudson for quite a while to implement a CI server with all the bells and whistles. The setup is quite straight forward, when installing from the provided RPMs and Debs, but through googling I haven't been able to figure out whether the plugins are installable using apt/rpm or some other package manager? The reason is that I would like to create a (meta)package for Ubuntu which would install and also update both Hudson and all the plugins through the normal upgrade mechanism. At the same time I could create a template setup for other projects, say JavaEE project needs git, cobertura and Chuck Norris plugins, while my Python project needs plugins XXX and YYY. Anybody got such a setup? As a workaround I figured setting up a number of Maven POMs, which would do the init, and later upgrades, but I feel this would require more scripting on the side, which I'm not very eager to do. Any other suggestions for this would also be appreciated.

  • Using a JMS Session from different threads

    - by Evan
From the javadoc for Session it states: A Session object is a single-threaded context for producing and consuming messages. So I understand that you shouldn't use a Session object from two different threads at the same time. What I'm unclear on is if you could use the Session object (or children such as a Queue) from a different thread than the one it created. In the case I'm working on, I'm considering putting my Session objects into a pool of available sessions that any thread could borrow from, use, and return to the pool when it is finished with it. Is this kosher? (Using ActiveMQ BTW, if that impacts the answer at all.)

  • Create NinePatch at Runtime

    - by Pedro Lopes
Hello everybody! I have a business need to create the NinePatchDrawable objects at runtime, this is, an exterior .png image is received from a server and it has to be applied in a button's background (for example) as a nine patch. I have tried to create the NinePatchDrawable object, but the constructor asks me for a "byte[] chuck" that describes the patch. The thing is, I have no idea on how to build this chunck from a bitmap that does not have the 9patch information in it. Any ideas on this topic? Am I seeing the problem from a wrong perpective? Thanks!
