  • JSP Document/JSPX: what determines how space/linebreaks are removed in the output?

    I've got a "JSP Document" ("JSP in XML") nicely formatted and when the webpage is generated and sent to the user, some linebreaks are removed. Now the really weird part: apparently the "main" .jsp always gets all its linebreak removed but for any subsequent .jsp included from the main .jsp, linebreaks seems to be randomly removed (some are there, others aren't). For example, if I'm looking at the webpage served from Firefox and ask to "view source", I get to see what is generated. So, what determines when/how linebreaks are kept/removed? This is just an example I made up... Can you force a .jsp to serve this: <body><div id="page"><div id="header"><div class="title">... or this: <body> <div id="page"> <div id="header"> <div class="title">... ? I take it that linebreaks are removed to save on bandwidth, but what if I want to keep them? And what if I want to keep the same XML indentation as in my .jsp file? Is this doable?

  • Eclipse: How to build an executable jar with external jar?

    Hi all, I am trying to build an executable jar program which depends on external jar downloaded. In my project, I included them in the build path and can be run and debug within eclipse. When I tried to export it to a jar, I can run the program but I can't when I try to press a button which includes function calls and classes from the external jar. I have edited the environment variables (Windows XP) CLASSPATH to include paths of all the external jar, but it doesn't work. A point to note is that I got compile warnings while exporting my executable jar, but it doesn't show up any description about the warnings. Would someone kindly provide a thorough guide on how to include an external jar program using eclipse? Best regards, KWAN Chiu Yin, Ben

    I'm getting such an headache trying to elaborate an appropriate algorithm to go from a START position to a EXIT position in a maze. Also, if the agent arrives with a remaining energy of zero or less, he dies, so we print something like "Impossible". So, in the input 10 is the initial agent's energy, 3 4 is the START position (i.e. column 3, line 4) and we have a maze 7x6. Think this as a kind of labyrinth, in which I want to find the exit that gives the agent a better remaining energy (shortest path). In case there are paths which lead to the same remaining energy, we choose the one which has the small number of steps, of course. I need to know if a DFS to a maze 500x500 in the worst case is feasible with these limitations and how to do it, storing the remaining energy in each step and the number of steps taken so far. The output means the agent arrived with remaining energy= 5 to the exit pos 1 4 in 2 steps. If we look carefully, in this maze it's also possible to exit at pos 3 1 (column 3, row 1) with the same energy but with 3 steps, so we choose the better one. With these in mind, can someone help me some code or pseudo-code? I have troubles working this around with a 2D array and how to store the remaining energy, the path (or number of steps taken)....

  • Using AWT components inside a JInnerFrame (for JDesktopPane)

    Hello, is there a way to hack bugs related to adding an AWT component (in my case a PApplet, so a processing language sketch) inside a JInternalFrame? It works but not as intended, since it flickers and dragging the frame causes repaint issues.. reading around it seems that, althrough it's possible to mix heavyweight (AWT) and lightweight (Swing) components some problems seem to be unavoidable.. is it true?   • Move million records from MEMORY table to MYISAM table.

    Hi, I am looking for a fast way to move records from a MEMORY table to MYISAM table. MEMORY table has around 0.5 million records. Both tables have exactly the same structure (same number of columns, data types etc.). But the MYISAM table is indexed (B-TREE) on a few columns. There are around 25 columns most of which are unsigned integers. I have already tried using "INSERT INTO SELECT * FROM " query. But is there any faster way to do this? Appreciate your help. Prashant

    I've got a ListActivity and ListView and I've bound some data to it. The data shows up fine, and I've also registered a context menu for the view. When I searched, I found Spam Assassin, which they say is used as sapm filters in many mail servers. Can I create a spam tester using Spam Assassin? Another option I found is one Litmus API, which is a paid service. Is there any options other than these two? Freeware is more preferred. My project is a J2EE web application using Spring.

    Hi guys, I have a question about the JFileChooser in Swing. I'm trying to get multiple file extensions in the drop-down box, but have no idea how to do it. There is the method extFilter = FileNameExtensionFilter(description, extensions); that I can then use by writing fileChooser.setFileFilter(extFilter); however, as you can see, this only supports one option in the drop-down list. How do I add more?

    Respected sir/madam, I want to add multiple jpanels to jpanel.So i added a root panel to jscrollpane.and then added all individual jpanels to this root panel.I made jscrollpane's scrolling policy as needed.i.e HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_AS_NEEDED,VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_AS_NEEDED. But the problem is all individual panels are not shown inside root panel.     I've been wondering about alternative ways to write control structures. One that you learn early on for if statements is a replacement for this: if ( x ) { // true } else { // false } with this (sometimes this is more readable compared to lots of brackets): x ? true : false It got me thinking. Can we replace anything else incase it's more readable. We of course replace if statements like this: if (a < b) { return true; } else { return false; } with things like this: return a < b; We can save a long if with something like this (pretty much same as the one above): bool xCollisionTrue = (object.xPos < aabb.maxX && object.xPos > aabb.minX); So those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head for the if statement and doing comparisons. So I'm wondering what about looping constructs, for, while, etc. Maybe the code obfuscators might have some ideas.

  • Can I use XText for a DSL involving an XML file type?

    I have defined a small DSL that is mostly written in the form of different types of XML files in conjuction with some property files. This works very well but I wish to create an Eclipse Editor to make editing these files easier for beginners (I already have a working parser). The main XML file can reference some items from the .properties files and vice-versa. THe main xml file can also reference other XML files. Certain options should only be available in the main xml file based on the contents of the .properties files and based on some osgi plugins that can be added to the DSL project (the syntax is dynamic depending on context). The structure of the language is fixed but the options available in each attribute or the choice of attributes themselves changes depending on metadata contained in plugin .jar files. Questions: Does XText support dynamic syntax (validation changes depending on external factors)? Does XText support XML files / .properties files? Thank you very much for your help in advance.

The question is theoretical or conceptual: Is there any way to tell an entity manager to load an entity from the DB rather than from it's cache?
