  • Apache POI Comment Excel

    I need to add a comment to an HSSF Cell in Excel. Everything works fine the very first time but if I open the same file and run the code again it corrupts the file. I've also noticed that I need to create a Drawing object on a Sheet only once: _sheet.createDrawingPatriarch(); If the line above gets executed more than once comments will not work. So has anyone tried adding comments to Cells, closing the file, opening the file again and trying to add more comments to different cells? The below code works but if I open the file again then comments are not added, plus the file gets corrupted!!! Is there a way to get the existing Drawing object from a Sheet? Any ideas appreciated.     Hello, I need to create a custom constraint annotation which can access the value of another field of my bean. I'll use this annotation to validate the field because it depends on the value of the other but the way I define it the compiler says "The value for annotation attribute" of my field "must be a constant expression".     I am evaluating several technologies for an open source app for the google app engine. I'm searching for information regarding OSGI on googles app engine. I have found Lemmon but it seems to be a dead project. The last checkin was in mid 2009... :-/ There is also a eclipse blog entry from april 2009, but it's not a real success story. Has anyone successfully used OSGI in a GAE app?

    Hello. As a not so experienced man in programming, I start to use netbeans PLATFORM. And I am really impressed by its power (for rich desktop app). I have been learning the programming in another way on university. I have never thought that something as powerful as nb Platform exists. My idea was that 30 people work on some rich desktop app for more than year to make it "beta". Now I know, that it is much more easier. But, I have never be satisfied with my own opinions about "something is best". I am still looking for better mouse trap. So the question is: What is most powerful IDE you know? (it does not strongly depends on language, it means if some combination of language/IDE is really powerful, feel free to answer.)

  • comparator with null values.

    Hi, We have some code wich sorts a list of addresses based on the distance between their coordinates. this is done through collections.sort with a custom comparator. However from time to time an adress without coordinates is in the list causing a NullPointerException. My initial idea to fix this was to have the comparator return 0 as dististance for addresses where at least one of the coordinates is null. I fear this might lead to corruption of the order the 'valid' elements in the list. so is returning a '0' values for null data in a comparator ok, or is there a cleaner way to resolve this.

  • Why can I not register a PropertyEditor for String in Spring MVC?

    I'm using Spring 3.0.3. I've enabled the default ConversionService by adding this line to my Spring configuration XML. <mvc:annotation-driven/> I'm also using custom PropertyEditor's for certain data types, so I've registered them for corresponding data types like the following and they work fine. webDataBinder.registerCustomEditor(Date.class, new MyPropertyEditor()); I have a custom tag library that extends Spring's Form tag library, and I can acess these PropertyEditor's through getPropertyEditor() of AbstractDataBoundFormElementTag. What I don't understand is that I can't register a custom PropertyEditor for String for some reason. The following wouldn't work. webDataBinder.registerCustomEditor(String.class, new MyPropertyEditor()); When I do getPropertyEditor(), it always returns a ConvertingPropertyEditorAdapter, instead of MyPropertyEditor. Is this a bug? EDIT: I realized that I didn't do some stuff right. Spring works just fine.

I would copy and past it here, but that isn't working. What am I doing wrong?

  • Load properties file in JAR?

    I'm having trouble when one of the jars that my web app depends on tries to load a properties file from within the jar. Here is the code in the jar. static { Properties props = new Properties(); try { props.load(ClassLoader.getSystemResourceAsStream("someProps.properties")); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } someProperty = props.getProperty("someKey"); } The properties file is in my "src/main/resources" directory of the Maven project. When I run this code from my junit test in Eclipse, it executes just fine. When the project is built with Maven into a jar, and included as a dependency in my webb app, it fails to locate the properties file. I know that the properties file is at the base directory of the depended on jar, I don't know how to fix this. Please help!

  • PulpCore music playback - loop sound and animate volume

    I have been experimenting with PulpCore, trying to create my own tower defence game (not-playable yet), and I am enjoying it very much I ran into a problem that I can't quite figure out. I extended PulpCore with the JOrbis thing to allow OGG files to be played. Works fine. However, pulpCore seems to have a problem with looping the sound WHILE animating the volume level. I tried this with wav file too, to make sure it isn't jOrbis that breaks it. The code is like this: Sound bgMusic = Sound.load("music/music.ogg"); Playback musicPlayback; ... musicVolume = new Fixed(0.75); musicPlayback = bgMusic.loop(musicVolume); //TODO figure out why it's NOT looping when volume is animated // musicVolume.animate(0, musicVolume.get(), FADE_IN_TIME); This code, for as long as the last line is commented out, plays the music.ogg again and again in an endless loop (which I can stop by calling stop on the Playback object returned from loop(). However, I would like the music to fade in smoothly, so following the advice of the PulpCore API docs, I added the last line which will create the fade-in but the music will only play once and then stop. I wonder why is that? Here is a bit of the documentation: Playback pulpcore.sound.Sound.loop(Fixed level) Loops this sound clip with the specified volume level (0.0 to 1.0). The level may have a property animation attached. Parameters: level Returns: a Playback object for this unique sound playback (one Sound can have many simultaneous Playback objects) or null if the sound could not be played. So what could be the problem? I repeat, with the last line, the sound fades in but doesn't loop, without it it loops but starts with the specified 0.75 volume level. Why can't I animate the volume of the looped music playback? What am I doing wrong? Anyone has any experience with pulpCore and has come across this problem? Anyone could please download PulpCore and try to loop music which fades-in (out)? note: I need to keep a reference to the Playback object returned so I can kill music later.

    Hi folks, I want to fetch data from the LinkedIn API for that I am using the Scribe library.All requests are giving me data as expected but when I tried two facet in the url then scribe is not able to get data from LinkedIn API.     I try to show a list of offers. When an advertiser insert a large title, the margin of an item (offer) will be showed what shouldn't. I've tried different layouts but that doesn't work.
