• Problem in Report Design Layout

  Hi, I have a jasper report with 4 subreports in the detail band of the master report. If data is available for first subreport, it starts displaying from page 1 with the header of the subreport. When second subreport starts printing data, it prints only header in page 1 and the page breaks and in the page 2, it prints header again n data for that. I dont want the header of the second subreport to be printed in page1. It should start print in the page 2. How to solve this..? How could i page break...? its urgent.Please help. • Creating a "less"-like console pager interface for pysqlite3 database

  I would like to add some interactive capability to a python CLI application I've writen that stores data in a SQLite3 database. Currently, my app reads-in a certain type of file, parses and analyzes, puts the analysis data into the db, and spits the formatted records to stdout (which I generally pipe to a file). There are on-the-order-of a million records in this file. Ideally, I would like to eliminate that text file situation altogether and just loop after that "parse and analyze" part, displaying a screen's worth of records, and allowing the user to page through them and enter some commands that will edit the records. The backend part I know how to do. Can anyone suggest a good starting point for creating that pager frontend either directly in the console (like the pager "less"), through ncurses, or some other system?

• Django admin causes high load for one model...

  In my Django admin, when I try to view/edit objects from one particular model class the memory usage and CPU rockets up and I have to restart the server. I can view the list of objects fine, but the problem comes when I click on one of the objects. Other models are fine. Working with the object in code (i.e. creating and displaying) is ok, the problem only arises when I try to view an object with the admin interface. The class isn't even particularly exotic: class Comment(models.Model): user = models.ForeignKey(User) thing = models.ForeignKey(Thing) date = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True) content = models.TextField(blank=True, null=True) approved = models.BooleanField(default=True) class Meta: ordering = ['-date'] Any ideas? I'm stumped. The only reason I could think of might be that the thing is quite a large object (a few kb), but as I understand it, it wouldn't get loaded until it was needed (correct?).

• 3ds collada UV mapping problem in Papervision

  Hi everyone, as I briefly explained in the title, my prblem concerns texturing a collada export in papervision. Basically I was exporting collada models from Cinema 4d with its uv map. I was able to see everything, but the texture was not displaying properly (hidden polygons). So I decided to try with 3dsMax. I used the same code to display the texture : var materials:MaterialsList = new MaterialsList(); var torusMaterial:BitmapFileMaterial = new BitmapFileMaterial("model/tex.png"); torusMaterial.precise = true; materials.addMaterial(torusMaterial, "ID1"); Again, I can see every elements, but this time my model uses only one pixel of my texture. So if I use a red texture and if I color only the pixel at the left bottom corner in green, all my model will be green. Any advice about how to properly wrap the texture around a 3ds export model ? Now I think I could figure that out on my own, but you can see on the live page that if the user is on a page from the innerlist and that list was visible, then if they hovered over the other nav tab, then those innerlists would overlap. This is a problem. Hopefully that last sentence makes sense! In short: I need to keep the inner list of the active page displaying, BUT if the user hovers over another nav button WITH it's own inner list, then the live innerlist needs to disappear. Clear as mud?

• MVC Client Validation from Service Layer

  I'm following this article http://www.asp.net/mvc/tutorials/older-versions/models-(data)/validating-with-a-service-layer-cs to include a Service Layer with Business Logic in my MVC Web Application. I'm able to pass messages from the Service Layer to the View Model in a Html.ValidationSummary using ModelState Class. I perform basic validation logic on the View Model (using DataAnnotation attributes) and I have ClientValidation enabled by default which displaying the error message on every single field of my form. The Business logic error message which come from the Service Layer are being displayed on Html.ValidationSummary only after Posting the form to the Server. After Validation from the Service Layer I would like highlight one or more fields and have the message from the Service Layer showing on these fields instead that the Html.ValidationSummary. Any idea how to do it? Thanks

• Why won't binding to a child object property with rdlc Report work in vs2010?

  A while ago someone asked how to bind to a child object's property in a rdlc report. Question here. The solution was to use an expression like this: =Fields!ChildObject.Value.SomeProperty I have recently tried to upgrade to version 10 of the reporting libraries (Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms and Microsoft.ReportViewer.Common) and for some reason this does not work anymore. I have got the report rendering and displaying all data fine except any which uses this technique. Instead of the property value i get the text: "#Error" Why doesn't this work anymore? Anybody know how to to this in the new version?

• Drupal 6 / Views2 Grid style: whole cells link to nodes

  I have a Users page, which is simply a nicely styled grid (HTML table) of users. I'm displaying a few fields for each one, and both the name and the profile picture have been set to link to the user node. What is the best way to change it so that the whole cell (HTML td) links to the user node? Would you have to use javascript? I've looked into modifying the theme of the view (over-riding the Style output e.g. views-view-grid--users.tpl.php), but cant see an elegant way to get the URL of the user node. And I think you would have to use javascript anyway to turn a whole block element into a link.

• Web Page execution

  I have a web page which brings 13K+ records in 20 seconds. There is a menu on the page, clicking on which navigates me to another page which is very lightweight. Displaying the data (13K+) took only 20 seconds whereas navigating from that page took much longer, more than 2 mins. Can you tell me why is the latter taking so much of time. I've stopped the page_load code execution on click of the menu. I've disabled the viewstate for that page as well.

  Hi guys, i was trying to do a Cell Editing based on this documentation http://www.trirand.com/jqgridwiki/doku.php?id=wiki:cell_editing I have two questions: How can i get the Index of my row posted to the server: The information i'm getting posted is the following: a) value of the cell b) RowId The thing is that the rowId doesn't help me. • C# Login Dialog Implementation

  I have implemented a LoginAccess class that prompts the user to enter their active directory username and password. Then I save the login data as an encrypted file. Every subsequent start of the application, the LoginAccess class will read the encrypted file and check against the active directory to see if the login information is still valid. If it is not, then it will prompt the user again. I have made it so that the reading of the encrypted file and displaying of the login dialog is done on a separate thread. A delegate is fired when the login process is complete. The issue that I'm having is that I have a class that is used in multiple places. This class contains the call to the LoginAccess object. Every time I instantiate a new object there are multiple calls to the LoginAccess object and I get multiple dialogs appearing when it tries to prompt for a username and password. Any suggestions on how to have only one dialog appear would be greatly appreciated.

I am able to dynamically add a single instance of this by placing a fixed placeholder in the page. I am now trying to work out how to add more than one, given that I don't know how many might be needed I don't want to hard code the Placeholders. What would be the best approach for managing shared objects - for example fonts, find dialog, etc?   In my MVVM based WPF application I have a lot of different ViewModel types that dynamically loaded into ContentControls or ContentPresenters. Therefor I need to explictly set what DataTemplate is to be used in XAML: <ContentControl Content={Binding SomePropertyOfTypeViewModel} ContentTemplate={StaticResource someTemplate} /> Now my problem is that the content control is displaying the UI of someTemplate even if the ContentControl is bound to nothing (i.e ViewModel.SomePropertyOfTypeViewModel is null) Is there a quick and easy way to make all ContentControls display nothing if they are currently bound to nothing? When I use implicit DataTemplates everything works as expected. Unfortunately I can't use this mechanism here.

But it is written in ATL COM. So I am planning to work and build the Image viewer as follows: After reading the Image I will scale down to my viewer size, viwer is around 1000x1000. Lets call this Image Data as Display Data. Once displaying this data, I will work only this Display data. For all Image processing operation, I will use this display data and when user choose to save the image, I will apply all the operation to original Image data. My question is, Is is ok to use Display data for showing and initial image processing operations.

• Hex web colours

  Hi I am displaying a colour as a hex value in php . Is it possible to vary the shade of colour by subtracting a number from the hex value ? What I want to do it display vivid web safe colour but if selected I want to dull or lighten the colour. I know I can just use two shades of colour but I could hundred of potential colours . to be clear #66cc00 is bright green and #99ffcc is a very pale green . What do i subtract to get the second colour ? is there any formula because I just can get it . Thanks for any help Cheers

• Unobtrusive Toggling failing in Rails

  I've been at this for hours but it just isn't working. I'm trying to get ToggleJS working using Scriptaculous' Effects library. Specifically, the example: http://wiseheartdesign.com/page_attachments/0000/0075/demo.html. I got it working beautifully using a pure html file called new.html. I then converted it to new.html.erb so I can incorporate some of the animations into my Rails project and it stopped working! I tried both html and ruby javascript tags but neither are working, for example: <%= javascript_include_tag "application", "prototype", "effects", "lowpro", "toggle" %> The page's body is displaying on the browser, but without animations. I have made sure my javascript files are the same as the demo (plus, the html file is working with them anyway). Do you know where the problem might lie here with my .erb file?

• Mod-Rewrite rules are breaking 404 routing

  I am using the following mod-rewrite in my .htaccess file: RewriteRule ^$ pages/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ pages/$1 [L] The intention is to hide the subdirectory called /pages/ from displaying in the URL. So this: http://mysite.com/pages/home.html Will look like this: http://mysite.com/home.html It works but there are some unintended consequences. As a direct result of the .htaccess code I posted above, my 404 routing is no longer working at all. Anything that should trigger a 404 error page is instead generating a 500 Server Error. How to fix?

  Hi, I have extended IEditorInput class to define my own IEditorInput object. Furthermore, I have extended FormEditor class. I have view where I am displaying my application objects. Whenever user double clicks on items on view, I intend to display more details for this application object on the editor, which is a FormEditor. Problem I am facing is that I am receiving IEditorInput object as NULL inside extended FormEditor class. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? • Accorian menu is not working properly

  Hi, I am using accordin menu in my site, placed in Master Page, It has 4 pane, each pane have multiple links. it was working fine previously. But suddenly it is displaying this error message There is no source code available for the current location. It's is asking for show assembly. When I clicked on that I got a stopage at the stack 0000001a mov eax,dword ptr [ebp-0Ch] -- I am really not sure what does it means. Also, there are several links in accordin menu, after clicking on anyone of the link I am not able to click the other link, might be because of the above reason. Please help

• ReportViewer height issue. Hiding scrollbars.

  Hi, I'm using MSSQL 2005 Reporting Services and in this case I need to display some reports on an ASP.NET page using the ReportViewer control (I guess thats the only way, right?). The problem is that I can't get the property SizeToReportContent to work. When displaying the report, I get a vertical scrollbar because the report is too large. It looks like an iframe window. Searching on google it seems to be a bug. It can be fixed by setting AsyncRendering to false but I don't want that. I need another solution. I was wondering if it's possible to set the height on the report element using JavaScript after the report has been loaded? Or do you know of another solution? This is really annoying. • Drupal: Content in blocks from node_reference fields?

  After only a few weeks of working with Drupal I've come up with a recurring problem, which I don't really have an optimal solution to, so I'm hoping that someone here might be able to give some best practice pointers. What I have is a region inside my node.tpl.php, which is populated with blocks that display content from two different CCK fields of the type node_reference. This works fine when displaying a single node. The problem appears when I need to use a view. For example, lets say I have a news listing, and a single news item view. When I display the single news item I can use the news node node_reference field to reference whatever material I would like to have in my sidebar, but when on the news listing view I would like to reference nodes separately. What would be the best practice to solve this? I'm having a few ideas, but none seem like the logical choice, how would you do?
