• Stack trace in website project, when debug = false

  We have a website project. We are logging unhanded exceptions via a appdomain level exception handler. When we set debug= true in web.config, the exception log is showing the offending line numbers in the stack trace. But when we set debug = false, in web.config, log is not displaying the line numbers. We are not in a position to convert the website project in to webapplication project type at this time. Its legacy application and almost all the code is in aspx pages. We also need to leave the project in 'updatable' mode. i.e. We can't user pre-compile option. We are generating pdb files. Is there anyway to tell this kind of website projects to generate the pdb files, and show the line numbers in the stack trace?

• Best solution for managing navigation (and marking currently active item) in CakePHP

  So I have been looking around for a couple hours for a solid solution to handling site navigation in CakePHP. Over the course of a dozen projects, I have rigged together something that works for each one, but what I'm looking for is ideally a CakePHP plugin that handles the following: Navigation Model Component for handing off to the view Element View Helper for displaying the navigation (with control over sublevels displayed and automatically determining the "active" item based on URL and/or controller/model/slug Admin pages for managing a tree of navigation Any suggestions for an all-in-one solution or even the individual components would be very appreciated! • Generate colour palette from uploaded image

  Just for fun I've been looking at how to use the GD library to create a colour palette from an image. So far I've used GD to resize a user uploaded image to an appropriate size for displaying on a webpage. Now I'd like to be able to get about five or so different colours from the image that represent the range of colours present in it. Once I've done that I'd like to generate a complementary palette based upon those colours, which I can then use to colour different elements on the page. Any help I can get about how I would find the initial colour palette would be much appreciated!

• transition of x-axis results in overflow

  First of all, no: this question is not about the (yet) ugly transition of the lines (I might open another one for that, though..). I'm displaying data in line charts and the user can select the time horizon. The x-axis then correspondingly transitions so as to fit to the changed time horizon. In attached image, e.g., the time horizon was 1 week and then I switched to 4 weeks. The number of ticks on the x-axis increases from 7 to 28, correspondingly. Question: How can I prevent the x-axis animation to display outside the svg container? As you can see, the additional dates fly in from the left and they are being animated far far outside the container. Any ideas? • Grouping data in an NSMutable array

  Hi guys, I have an array i load with lots of data from an xml file. I am displaying this on a tableview and then when you click on say an author it goes through to display all their books. At the minute my NSMutableArray has an entry for every each book with title, author and so on. So in the table of authors it display the authors name as many times as they have books. I want to group the array data so the table only displays each author once but the author contains an array of his books. Seems simple but I can't find a group method for arrays. thanks peeps

• Is it possible to bind data asynchronously between two dropdownlists in a view?

  I'd like to achieve the following effect using ASP.NET MVC and JQuery. I've got a drop down list displaying a list of Countries. I want to make it so that when I change the value of the country, a new drop down list appears below it, showing a list of companies whose country of origin is the particular selected company. The thing is that I do not want to rely too much on controller actions because I'm using it in a Template Helper which is a "headless" view. Can I bind it somehow?

• WinUSB application or User-Mode Driver as a filter driver for USB Analysis/Sniffer/Trending

  A question to maybe some who have worked extensively with WinUSB APIs or use mode USB drivers - Does anyone know if the WinUSB API or a user mode driver can be used as a passive observer of USB connections, capturing notification of interrupts, control requests, data transfers...etc without interfering with other applications (such as iTunes) which would obviously require concurrent access to the device at the same time my application is monitoring the connection and displaying data on it? Or do you pretty much have to write a kernel-mode filter driver and inject yourself in the USB stack in order to make that happen? In the past, there have been a few credible options (libusb-win32 and usbsnoop to be specific) though both are built around the old DDK, not the Windows Driver Foundation, and are not really supported on a regular basis any more. I'm hesitant to build something significant around them, as a result.

• JDT: How to retrieve the correct IJavaElement to a corresponding RefactoringDescriptor?

  I implement the IRefactoringExecutionListener interface in an Eclipse plug-in to get notified when the user refactors his code, so I can update a visual editor displaying corresponding UML Boxes accordingly. Now I have a RefactoringDescriptor and cannot manage to map it's information (project name as String, new name as String and resource path as IPath) to my model. My model is basically a Hashmap in which fully qualified names (String) of types are mapped instances of IJavaElement, or more precisely: IType. How can I "convert" between the two representations so I can update my model? Regards, Chris

• android imageview scrolling to display full high quality image

  hi friends... i am working on displaying an image and placing an icon on top of it... clicking the icon will show an enlarged version of the image... though putting the imageview holding the image in a LinearLayout scales the image to the width of the dialog, the problem is that i need to display the image in a dialog but the image is very high resolution and hence is far bigger than the width of the dialog... I need to show the actual image with scrolling for both ways to see the whole image... But whenever i try putting the imageView in a scrollview the top of my imageview is blank... and again though image scrolls downwards the width is scaled to the width of the dialog... Helppppppppp guys....

If a String is given, its added as a class to the label. If a Function is given, its called with the label (as a jQuery object) as its only argument. That can be used to add a text like "ok!". Currently I'm only object given to me is the label, and I can only add text to it. Now what I want is to have unique success message. For example: username field will have a success message: 'username okay!' email = 'email seems right' something along those lines, instead of displaying just one generic success message on all the fields.   I am having a problem displaying a Javascript string with embedded Unicode character escape sequences (\uXXXX) where the initial "\" character is itself escaped as "&#92;" What do I need to do to transform the string so that it properly evaluates the escape sequences and produces output with the correct Unicode character? For example, I am dealing with input such as: "this is a &#92;u201ctest&#92;u201d"; attempting to decode the "&#92;" using a regex expression, e.g.: var out = text.replace('/&#92;/g','\'); results in the output text: "this is a \u201ctest\u201d"; that is, the Unicode escape sequences are displayed as actual escape sequences, not the double quote characters I would like.

  I'm using a PropertyGrid to display a property. For one property, I'm displaying strings in a drop-down combobox. The displayed text of the property and the value of the property are both strings, but their text is different. The displayed text is friendly, the value text corresponds to a registry key name. I've created a TypeConverter to convert between the display text and the value text, but the ConvertFrom() method appears to work correctly until I change the combo-box selection. It then sends the 'value' text instead of the display text to use during the conversion. Has anyone else used string-to-string conversion successfully?

  Hi, I see many post dealing with the UIScrollView like in the PhotoApp, but I don't really understand them, thats why I want to reopen a post about it and have a simple solution. What I want is to create (without IB) a simple UIViewController who will contain a UIScrollView (inside my scrollView there will be image and the scrollView will be set to pagingEnable to YES of course). I want to be able with a simple touch of the screen to display the navigationController.navigationBar inside my UIViewController and with another touch not displaying it of course. • Visual Studio 2008 - formatting/control characters/marks

  Hi, I don't know what I did but somehow the IDE has started displaying a green dot whenever I press spacebar and a green arrowhead whenever I press TAB. The source has become littered with these characters all over and I am finding it very difficult to code in the presence of so many formatting marks. I have tried to search a solution on Google but couldn't perhaps enter the right keywords so haven't been able to fix the behavior. Is there any way I can stop VS2008 IDE from littering my source code with these green dots and arrowheads whenever I press spacebar/tab? I would be really thankful for this help. • Convert any currency string to double

  I need to store multiple currencies in SQL server. I understand that SQL won't support all different types of currencies (unless I store it as a string, but I don't want to do that). My idea was to convert all the values from their currency format to a standard double and store that instead. Then just re-format based on the culture info when displaying. However, I have tried doing something like e.g. var cultureInfo = new System.Globalization.CultureInfo("en-US"); double plain = return Double.Parse("$20,000.00", cultureInfo); This doesn't ever seem to work it always throws a FormatException. Even removing the currency symbol and just trying to do this based on the number alone does the same thing. This is just an example I want to support pretty much any type of currency. Is there a standard way of stripping out currency and getting the value as a double?

• ASP.NET MVC download image rather than display in browser

  Rather than displaying a PNG in the browser window, I'd like the action result to trigger the file download dialogue box (you know the open, save as, etc). I can get this to work with the code below using an unknown content type, but the user then has to type in .png at the end of the file name. • Ad/Banner Management/Rotation for Ruby on Rails?

  Hi, I have a niche site that I'd like to sell banners for directly, rather than going through adsense. I need a system to manage the whole process: displaying ads and an administrative interface to manage them. It doesn't have to be anything terribly fancy, although open source is greatly preferred so that I can grow the system as needs be. Since the site itself is in Rails, I would prefer something for that environment. Googling turns up bunches of them in PHP, but the results are a bit polluted and I didn't have any luck finding one that was done in/for Rails. If I don't find one, I suppose I'll see what I can do to hack together something and release it myself under an open license. Another possibility is this: http://www.google.com/admanager - anyone have anything to say about it? Is it right for someone just selling a few ads for a not-so-big site? Thanks, Dave

• jQuery: How do I stop the page being displayed until it's been processed?

  I'm using jQuery to modify the style of some pages in a large set of existing Web pages. This works, but the problem I have is that, for longer pages, the page is briefly visible with the wrong styles before the javascript kicks in and transforms the page. I'm using this kind of thing (the alerts are just to emphasize the problem): $(document).ready(function(){ ... alert("at this point the page is visible unstyled"); $('body').addClass('myStyle'); alert("now page looks like I want it to"); ... } How do I prevent the browser from displaying the page until $(document).ready(function() completes?

• wxPython: Change a buttons text in a wx.FileDialog

  Hello I have a wx.FileDialog (with the wx.FD_OPEN flag) & I would like to know if I can (& how) I could change the button in the bottom right of the FileDialog from "Open" to "Create" or "Delete", etc. What I am doing is I have a button with the text "Delete Portfolio", when pressed it opens a FileDialog & allows the user to select a portfolio file(.db) to delete. So instead of the File Dialog's bottom right confirm button displaying "Open" I would like to be able to change the text to "Confirm" or "Delete" or whatever. Is this possible, its a rather superficial thing to do, but if the button says open when the user wants to select a file to delete, it can be a little confusing even if the title of the dialog says "please select a file to delete"

• Window title for a console application

  In Visual Studio's Attach to Process dialog, one of the columns in the Available Processes list is "Title", which lists the title of the topmost window owned by each process. We spawn multiple instances of several server processes in order to compartmentalize the work. For these console processes, the Title field is blank, so currently we have to look up the process id in our management tool in order to find the correct process. In order to streamline the debugging process, I would love to be able to use the Title field to directly determine which process I want. SetConsoleTitle does not do the trick, nor SetWindowText with a NULL hWnd. To the best of my knowledge, a console application does not intrinsically own any window handles that we could pass to SetWindowText. We don't want to create any visible windows for these server processes. Any suggestions for a reasonable way to trick Visual Studio into displaying some useful information here?

• Popup extender "frozen" on code-behind exception.

  Hi, In a C#/ASP.NET project, we're using an ajax modalpopupextender to display a "Processing..." message to the users. We're displaying it using a Javascript call in the code of the ASP.NET page. Then, in the code behind, we're doing some database operation, and hide again the popup using "popup.hide();" The problem is that when an exception occurs in the code behind, the popup is still displayed and the application does not handle errors as per the "customErrors" tag of the web.config. • Drupal 6: Taxonomy splot up in managed fields?

  So you have two taxonomies, namely: "Business Type" and "Location" This is assigned to a node called BUSINESS. In effect, when the user creates a BUSINESS node, her has to choose for example, location "New York" and type "Information Services". My problem is when: a) Capturing the taxonomy, and b) Displaying the taxonomy I want the two terms to be separated from each other. I.e. I want to be able to move the two terms individual positions in the MANAGE FIELDS view, so that they can be grouped or placed seperately. Currently, Drupal only allows one entry, called "TAXONOMY" which is effectively the two terms next to each other. This is what I have: This is what I want: Bare in mind, I need to be able to use this with Hierarchical Select, which means Content Taxonomy is not an option.

  Hi all, I have used wmd-editor in my cakephp v1.3 application.
